Chicken kebab wrap with cabbage rolls.
Amanda M.

Went here with others who are from North Africa to try something new. Ordered chicken strips for starters, frozen from a bag and heated up, same with the fries that were included. For my meal I had a chicken kebab wrap with dolma for the side and tzatziki sauce. The chicken was dry and bland, but the veggie accompaniment was fresh and customisable. The pita was soft and tasty. The tzatziki sauce was just ranch with lemon juice. The dola was absolutely foul and I only had one bite. There are bottled drinks to buy, and there was a decent selection. The bathroom had no toilet paper. Staff is warm and prompt.

Had been iffy about trying this place due to reviews but it was honestly so good and makes me sad to see it have poor reviews. The whole experience felt very simple and authentic. I ordered a chicken kabob plate with hummus and lentil stew. It was very delicious and a huge portion. The chicken was really well seasoned and everything came out steaming hot. I am looking forward to eating here again!

Terrible service and food. No greeting from anyone. Nothing offered without request-menus, water, flatware.

Many more had shown up here before we left, however. As it was happy hour, we tried three different appetizers: falafel with hummus, dolmas, and harissa carrots. All were delicious and ended up being rather filling. My wife and I both had the lamb gyros, while my daughter had the chicken shawarma. While the dishes didn't appear to be a huge amount of food, they ended up being plenty. Everything had really nice flavor. As it was my wife's birthday, she got the free baklava for dessert. My daughter and I both thought it was fantastic...maybe one of the better baklavas we've had in a long time. My wife thought it was fine but has had other versions she'd liked better. Service was quick and strong from the start. All food came out surprisingly fast. We'd come here again if on/near Tennyson Street and in the mood for a good Mediterranean experience.

The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the price differential between these two items is about $5 and instead of itemizing our receipts, our waiter just split it in two, overcharging my friend and undercharging me. It seemed very incongruent to the rest of our otherwise excellent experience here.

After roaming around for a while we decided to try The Gyros King & we're happy we did. There was only one employee working...he was friendly & helpful. Outside there were lots of trees, benches, picnic tables as well as bike racks & ample parking spaces. We had the Traditional Gyros Sandwich with a Side Salad. The sandwich was filled with seasoned beef & lamb, red onion, tomato & Tzatziki Sauce all in a Pita. This was delicious, I especially enjoyed the sauce & the meats were flavorful too. The bread wasn't as fresh as it could have been, it kept falling apart. The salad was very good. The dressing was yummy & all the ingredients were crisp. However, I would have liked the cucumbers & tomatoes to be bite size. All in all a good lunch, next time I'll try the Hummus Plate & the Fried Calamari.

Like all the restaurants in Edgewater, they have a screen based ordering system that will text when the order is ready for pick up. I chose the gyro as well as an order of dolmades. It was a relatively short weight given that it was prime dinner rush. I took my order and headed off to my book club. The sandwich was a bit messy. I know to ask for plastiware next time. Luckily I had access to some extra napkins. The dolmades were tasty, with a wedge of lemon and some feta on top. I would get both of these items again.

It's small and intimate. The menu has something for everyone & the prices are veryyyy reasonable. We started with a couple glasses of wine and the calamari. The calamari was perfectly fried and had 2 sauces and pita. The tzatziki was amazing. I could eat with a spoon! Next we shared the central Grecian Greek platter... and WOW!! I was shocked by how large the platter was. It was piled high with the most delicious gyro & other meets, veggies, salad, feta, and olives. the platter came with more tzatziki and pita and a delicious and light dressing. We had more than enough for ourselves for dinner & another meal! We ended with dessert: One baklava and one bougatsa. The baklava was delicious, but the bougatsa stole the show. It's like a filled funnel cake - how could you not love!! Our server Francisco was so attentive and enjoyable. He was personable, warm and welcoming. At one point the restaurant was packed, but he made sure we were always taken care of. We will be back, that's for sure! Situated in a residential neighborhood, this family owned restaurant was amazing! We are by no means an expert on Greek Cuisine but they guided us through the menu and made wonderful recommendations! We started off with the Saganaki or Flaming Cheese dish, not only was it great a great experience, the dish itself was delicious. We followed up that app with a Spanakopita which was my wife's favorite of the evening and a meatball dish Keftedes. The rack of lamb was highly recommended and it did not disappoint. We had to finish off with an order of Baklava and another dessert which just made it a perfect evening. We absolutely loved this restaurant, the staff was simply amazing, and we had one of the best dinners with our family over the holidays!
