We ordered one gyro and fries plate, the King Combo, and because of the cold, I decided to try the Harira soup. First, the gyro was soft and came stuffed with plenty of lamb, which was great. The King combo had everything that I'd wanted to try, the tabbouleh was delicious, as were the other sides and both meats. The only thing that we ordered that didn't reach the fifth star was the soup. It was good and hearty, but could have used a bit more flavor. Finally, the pita that came with the combo was fantastic. I had come in and ordered a chicken shawarma and they accidentally gave me the falafel wrap. It was a good falafel but I don't particularly like falafel anywhere. I came back in the next day and let them know about the mixup and they gladly gave me a chicken shawarma. It was delicious and had a perfect balance of sauce loaded with meat. The food was not as authentic as remembered. I was saddened to see the window taken out where you could sit and watch them make the food. I am allergic to tomatoes and clarified if things had tomatoes or not while ordering. Yet, my salad was brought with tomatoes on it. Powdered Chai and no mint tea. And there was a hair in the salad. The service was not the best. The young man was on his phone the entire time and we had to call him over for water, condiments, or anything including the check. The ambiance was bizarre. The lamb was very tender, flavorful, and delicious. My husband had the lamb curry which also melts in your mouth. The curry sauce was really good as well. Of course, the garlic dip was a winner. Firstly, the garlic dip is exactly what I was hoping. I'm obsessed with garlic dip, and this delivered. The highlight of the meal if we are being honest! Super garlicky so keep that in mind if it's date night! The Gyro was good, a touch dry, but still flavorful and tasty. Served with a yummy rice, some decent hummus, and salad. I used the salad and the gyro meat to wrap up in a pita with a plethora of garlic dip. So good! Tzakziki was ok. I would probably be rather peeved if I hadn't made sure to get a vat of Garlic sauce. Another thing I was meh about was the pita was cold. I kind of expect pita to arrive warm and fluffy not cold and hard. And last but not least. The Baklava was good, could have used a bit more honey; like the meat a bit dry. I was driving along I-70 and looking for something a little different than the usual options traveling and managed to find that Sultan Grill in Arvada wasn't too far off the highway exit. The environment is pretty much your standard Mediterranean cafe in a strip plaza. Nothing too special or appealing about the place visually but that doesn't particularly matter as long as the experience is good. We ordered the appetizer sampler plate and the veggie combo which were mostly the same stuff but allowed us to try all the vegetarian options. Rice and green beans were the most enjoyable. Hummus and baba ghanouj were good enough. Falafel and spanakopita were clearly frozen. Spanakopita was burnt. Salad and lentil soup were okay, too. Given that and the price point ($14.99 each), it wasn't particularly impressive. I've been to many comparable Mediterranean cafes across the country and either food like this would be cheaper or the quality higher. The service wasn't that great either. The guy barely cared we or the other table seated were in there. He had his earbud in. Not that he was negative in any way, but just was kind of a zombie to your customer experience. It'd be better off if you just ordered at the counter and then came up to pick up your food than have a server who didn't do much of anything. If you Google Sultan Grill, one of the top Google reviews is from someone who wrote "Hot waitress, delicious food - just a great place to eat." I can assure you the hot waitress was not there when I was. I don't know when her shift is. Also, if you're going to a place for a hot waitress, just go to Hooters. You'll have a better experience than here for those expectations. I battled between 2 stars and 3 stars for Sultan Grill. Ultimately Sultan Grill provided an alternative to the usual kind of food options found in a city like this and off the highway so I appreciated that. It was fine enough in that realm and so I don't want to torpedo its rating based off that. But, in just being honest for the price point of its food and the experience, it really is likely deserving of 2 stars. read more

This may be one's of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in the Denver area! As an added bonus, they are also wore affordable even with food prices on the rise. The gyros are second to none and the rice is amazing too. We tried an appetizer sampler on the last visit and everything on the plate was great. We have frequented this place several times since it opened but today was the last day. To start off with there was no one in the restaurant but several tables were dirty (needing to be wiped down) . The guy behind the cash register stood up to great us and directed us to sit at a table that was dirty. He did wipe it off. The tea we ordered was soured. A trip to the bathroom was a nightmare. The women's bathroom was disgusting - even the light switch was grimy and gross. There was a mop bucket in the hall with gross dirty water in it. Looked like it had been sitting there for a while. Service was abysmal. When we went to pay, the kitchen door was open and I wish I hadn't seen what I did. It was so nasty and appeared to have been that way for a while - just so gross. Even the door to the kitchen was extremely dirty. Just hoping I don't get sick from eating there. Won't be back and so disappointed. This place actually has pretty good food! read more
