They were listed as a local merchant who sells local artist Lori Mitchell's twiggy figurines in Richmond magazine last fall, and that lured her in. She spent way too long deciding between the figurines, so I looked around in the shop while she stared at them. They stock lots of eclectic, unique home decor items, so if you're looking for a special pillow or fabric or random glass ball -- and have the means -- this is a good option to check out. The folks who work here are really nice too. They chatted with us about the twig collection (apologies if the figurines have a real name that I'm omitting) and mentioned that Lori had had an event there in the recent past.

On January 18 I terminated our working relationship, due to weeks without communication from Abbey, multiple missed meeting/calls, a complete disregard for my budget, and a failure to deliver multiple agreed upon designs and renderings. After 3+ months, I'd received simplistic drawings - and only of the kitchen! Within a week of hiring my current contractor, I received detailed, 3-D FREE renderings. Abbey was well aware that I employed her because of her stated ability to provide rich 3-D renderings. What she provided looked like "stick-figures" in comparison to "portraits". Also, her kitchen design wouldn't even have worked because of load-bearing walls requiring columns. Abbey Bishop claims to have invested over 120 hours in my project, which is either untrue or pitiful based on the output. I'd be happy to show anyone the drawing of the kitchen she provided after over 3 months versus the detailed 3-D rendering from my current contractor - again FOR FREE, after only 1 WEEK! My loss of funds, time and productivity because my office is in my home, warrants raised awareness of Abbey's lack of ethics and non-professionalism. I have spoken to others who've experienced similar from her.

I signed a contract on July 13 for a kitchen design and never received executable layouts of the kitchen much less consultation on cabinets, backsplash, countertop, etc as of December 3. I tried and tried to communicate, confirm expectations and work with A. to resolve but could never get her to fulfill her promises. Even after a friendly conversation where we agreed on next steps (4 months after the original agreement), I wrote down our conversation and asked her to confirm that I understood correctly, all the things that were included in the "design" and her consulting services in that design. I asked her repeatedly to look at that document and tell me if I misunderstood anything and she would not confirm - or deny for that matter, what my understanding was. I don't even have a kitchen layout option with correct measurements. I have nothing usable. Just not professional.

Originally I purchased a bedroom for my wife's arrival from the Philippines. I had not owned a bed for myself for 5+ years and I was feeling excited. The issue started with the queen mattress that I purchased. The warehouse workers tried to give me 4 inch box spring for the mattress. I told them that was unacceptable. When I got the bed home, the post for the headboard was in several different pieces. It had broken apart during shipping from their colonial heights location. This allowed me to see the cheap materials and poor craftsmanship of their work. It took 3 weeks for them to get a replacement and again I had the same problem. The less than professional manager and salesman working up front blamed me for everything and never even bothered to apologize. Finally, after having all of the parts in my possession, I start to assmeble the bed only to find out, the holes were either drilled too small or in the wrong place altogether. Again, I voice my frustrations and they blamed me for not knowing how to assemble a bed. At this point I asked for a full refund and I was declined due to their in store credit only policy. I explained that the quality of their product was so bad that I did not want anything from them. My wife stopped me from filing a civivl suit and asked me to cool off. So 6 months later I went back to use my store credit so that we would have a living room set in our home for the christmas holiday. I picked out some decent looking furniture, borrowed a truck only for them to tell me that my credit had expired and they needed to contact someone from a different office to investigate. This happened on 12/20/14, it is now 12/23/14 and I am still waiting for the release of my money, so that I can purchase something that I settled for. I told them that they are a horrible company to do with and they must hate repeat customers. I cannot ee anyone coming to their location more than once. I asked them if it were acceptable for them to have my money and my merchandise and their attitude was that they could care less. You have been warned. I wish that I would have read their yahoo reviews before going to this place.
