I recently stopped in for an outfit for a wedding that I was going to be attending in a few days. I…read morerecently got married and visited a number of shops in the area. A lot of the sales people I encountered were pushy, and downright rude. Because of my past experience, I was dreading looking for a salwar kameez but the ladies that assisted me were very kind. I explained that I'd be attending my first Bengali wedding with my new husband who was accompanying me, and wasn't sure what I was looking for. They made suggestions and suggested I try on some things to get a feel for what I liked. While you really can't expect to be modest at any sari shops, these ladies did give me a little bit more privacy than what I've experienced before and it was appreciated. I tried on 4 different styles and modeled them for my husband before narrowing down what we wanted. Keep in mind that these clothes are NOT cheap. If you have some haggling skills, you can bargain your way down $100 - $200, which we did. That being said, we did end up paying $400 and while that included tailoring, it is still a hefty price tag. As in all shops, they will try to get you to buy more than you intend to and are a bit pushy, but not overwhelmingly so. All in all, I walked out with an awesome outfit that fit like a glove and would recommend this shop to anyone who needs their clothing fast. Otherwise, buy online and have it altered here to your preference and save a bundle!
