This is such a gem in South City -- it's the perfect meet up spot for lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Recently had lunch here and the food, service, and ambiance were all lit. Let's start with the service. Our server was incredibly attentive from the moment we walked in. We were handed menus and then asked if we preferred still or sparkling waters - we opted for the latter. Next, he politely made some recommendations to the more popular items on the lunch menu. We went with his suggestions and he did not disappoint! For two people, we shared the following two items: * MEZZE PLATTER - hummus, babaghanouge, falafel, tabbouleh, and pita ($19) * BEET SALAD - roasted heirloom beets, carrots, goat cheese, honey thyme vinaigrette ($18) For our entrees, we had the following: * BEEF SHAWARMA WRAP - lettuce, sumac onion, pickles, tahini sauce, mixed greens ($19) * ROASTED SALMON - pacific salmon, turmeric rice, grilled broccolini ($29) Food was absolutely incredible. Fresh ingredients, simple preparation, Mediterranean fusion, and assembled thoughtfully without compromising nutrition. I am a fan. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an inviting style for large groups, intimate fireside chats, or bar seating. Okay, I really like the hummus and lamb bolognese here, full stop. They also have really good refreshers like lemonade or dragonfruit. Our work group comes here for events often, so I've tried a lot of dishes here. The mezze platter is delicious, the falafel is okay, but everything else on the mezze platter such as the babaghanouge, tabbouleh, hummus, and pita are 5/5 stars. Other wins are the prawn pasta and the branzino. One of my favorite restaurants in downtown SSF. read more

Been here a few times now and realized I haven't posted a review yet. This is close to home and a good for family meal or just with a friend or date. Food was solid and tasty. Service was friendly and helpful but perhaps could have been a little more attentive since the restaurant wasn't that crowded on a weeknight and they had 3 servers working. My wife and I shared a few dishes this time and enjoyed a nice, relaxed Mediterranean meal at a fine neighborhood restaurant. Thought it unusual that we had to ask for some house made pita bread as an add on, however, since we ordered a kebab dish that came with rice and I thought it would normally also come with a piece of pita or similar bread. I also noticed that a couple near us ordered a mezze sampler platter and just shared that as their meal...thought that was a great idea, especially if you don't want meat that night. read more

Came here for dinner with coworkers and it was pretty busy for a Tuesday evening. The appetizers were great - get one to share for the table if you're with a lot of people. The grilled meats were the highlight. Kebob meat was flavorful and well prepared. Only downside from the meal was the side of rice that came with my mixed grill was partially cooked with chunks of it still raw. The parking lot to the side belongs to the restaurant (you can ignore the tow signs as they own it). read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant the first time that I came however, I came here again in February 2026, and for some reason, the food wasn't quite as good. We got the Mezze platter, kefta kebab, and the pomme frites, this time. Last time I got the lamb shank plate. The food seemed like it was pretty high-quality, Aunt was all right, but for some reason, it seemed a little bit under assaulted or something. Overall, really great experience, though. Service is always on point and they're always very professional. The ambience is a cute low light dinner vibe. And it's always full of people! We decided to try a new to us place in South SF. Amoura is a welcoming restaurant. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter offered us sparkling, still or tap water and went over the dining menu. We ordered a bottle of Daou Can to start. Once our wine was served we opted to try the lamb kabobs and the Avocado carrot salad. The kabobs were melt in your mouth tender. Very nice flavor. Two kabobs per order 10/10 The avocado and carrot salad was a very unique twist I had never seen that combo in a menu before. The carrots were nicely roasted giving the texture a wonderful balance for the avocado and cucumbers. Topped with dill this is a refreshing salad. 10/10 The restaurant was softly lit making for a cozy atmosphere. We noticed a lot of business meetings/dinners taking place. I was not wowed, but I eat a lot of salad at home. Would try another salad. -Brussels sprouts - really good with the tahini and pepitas. I'm always looking to try new spots close to home, so Amoura was an easy pick to check off my South SF list. We sampled a variety of starters and entrees, but my favorite was the sampler platter with a side of their house baked pita. It was the perfect way to try a little bit of everything, and the warm, fluffy pita tied it all together perfectly. The entrees were good, though they could've used a bit more flavor to really stand out. You can't wrong with any of their mezze plates- we love the sampler where you get to try a little bit of everything. The hummus and pita are so fresh and flavorful. First time visit on Mother's Day May 11. Normally closed on Sundays, but special menu offered. Ordered 3 items from special menu and 2 items from regular menu. Lamb shank from regular menu was succulent and falling off bone, didn't need tomato sauce like in most Greek cooking. The kebabs were fresh. The mezze platter amazing. Pancakes with pistachios and walnuts to die for. Will come back again and again as I am Lebanese American and hard to find reasonably priced authentic Palestinian food. Finally the ambiance and decor inside were also nice! Met the owner also who was working in the kitchen as all great owners do! He gave my granddaughter fresh baked pita bread from his oven. Stopped in for dinner with a group and had made a reservation. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and got seated right away. Everyone was friendly and attentive and had great suggestions for food and drink. We tried the mezze sampler, avocado and carrot salad, Brussels sprouts, a variety of mains, and drinks. Drinks were well balanced. It was fun but different that their version of a French 75 kept the prosecco separate and could pour in yourself. The sampler board was great. Everything tasted delicious, loved the bread and dips, and good variety and portion. The lamb tagine was flavorful and tender and the rice that came with it had perfect texture and flavor. The branzino was cooked well and likes the pearled couscous as well. The Brussels sprouts and salad were also good and would recommend everything we had. I came here for a weekday lunch with 2 coworkers and loved the food and ambiance. First of all, there's a parking lot to the side of the place which is always a great way to start off lunch! As it was our first time here, we decided to get a mezze platter and the mixed grill plates to share and try everything. - mezze platter - a very good variety of appetizers. This contained pita with hummus, babaghanoush, 2 falafels, tabouleh and sides of tahini, hot sauce, and tzatziki sauce. Falafels were my favorite since they were super crispy! Everything else was good but standard. I'd recommend! - mixed grill - seasoned rice with one kebab each of chicken, lamb, and kefta, with a small side salad. All the meats were perfectly charred while still being juicy and succulent. We were all very happy with this dish. My favorite was the lamb kebab which had this mint cilantro sauce on top. - desserts - baklava with ice cream - pretty good. Their baklava is on the sweeter side especially with the extra drizzle of honey they add for plating. - date cake with caramel and pistachio (we had chocolate sauce on the side) - I surprisingly liked this better than their baklava. The texture of the cake was soft and moist because of the dates, but you don't taste an overwhelming date flavor (which I don't care for). Glad we asked for the chocolate sauce on the side because it was too sweet and not necessary. Overall, great food, convenient location, and friendly service. We had a get together every year for the last 25 or 26 years. We're older now and may be a year or two off. We pick restaurant based on the groups prior visits or one recommended from friend. This year is was a choice from one of us. She has been there a few times and knows the owner. Through a misunderstand, she forgot to make a reservation. They were able to accommodate us at table near the front door. More on this later. The menu looks good with many choices to choose from. We ordered a double appetizers. But before we order, the busboy brought a bottle of carbonate and a bottle of 'flat water'. We looked around the group to see who had ordered it and the person who knew the owner said he probably sent it over. We did order some beers, wine and colas. Most of us loved lamb so several of us ordered the lamb skewers along with a shrimp skewer a salmon dish. the appetizer came and it was had many tastes and textures that went well together. The lamb skewers came on wooden skewers and was served with a mint sauce on the side and well as rice. The lamb was tasty but needed some salt. The sauce lack any hint of mint. The rice was tasty and satisfying. I noticed no one mentioned their food. My option was it was okay but nothing special. The restaurant was full so many people were coming and going. Everytime the door opened, a strong cold draft was felt. That what we get for not making a reservation. When we got the bill, we were surprise to see we where charge for $40 for water. After the first fill, the water had brought out another bottle even though the two bottles were not empty. My friend was embarrassed that they weren't comp as well as no one ordered the bottle water. We didn't want to make a fuss and make our friend feel worse. The food was a 3 star, service a 3 star, water service two star. I'm sure this is a nice restaurant but be careful should a bottle of water appear at your table. When we were leaving, we noticed they had a double set of doors to prevent the wind from blowing in. The outside door to the street was propped open. So when the inner doors open, the wind came in. I wonder how the hostess at the front did not notice this? read more

Wanted to try a different Mediterranean restaurant in the SSF area with a friend and decided to try Amoura! The staff was super attentive and kind, gave us some personal recommendations since it was our first time there and chatted whenever they came to check on us. I would recommend it for a more special occasion as it was on the expensive side. Hot Chocolate - Went on a rainy day and we wanted to get a warm drink. It was a very rich dark chocolate flavor and not too sweet which I liked! Mezze Platter - This was highly recommended by the staff to sample the different items they have on their menu. The falafel was fresh and crispy. The tabbouleh with hummus and babaghanouge was flavorful and went really well on their pita. Kefta Kebab - The kefta (beef & lamb) kebabs were a little dry but went well with the parsley tahini sauce. Lunch - Service and Food 1. Service - though server provided satisfactory service, we had a difficult time understanding his explanation of the dishes and we realized he didn't quite understand us either because one of the entrees brought to the table was wrong. All of us clearly heard each other's orders quite clearly. 2. Timing of food arriving at the table was less than desirable. The two side dishes arrived first but we waited another five minutes before the entrees arrived and the last entree arrived ten minutes later. Since our entrees did not arrive at the same time or at least shortly after, we had no plates to begin enjoying the sides while it was still hot and of course by the time the last entree arrived, the sides were thoroughly cold for the last diner to enjoy since she didn't have a plate. All in all, the restaurant was clean, service was satisfactory except for the server's lack of comprehension and food was not terrible though the lamb (kabob) was somewhat tough. In the future - be sure to very clearly state your order and ask that he repeat the orders. Also, no harm in asking for small plates if the sides are served first and enjoy though the main entrees have not arrived. Because the taste of the food and selections are somewhat generic may return but won't drive out of our way to dine there. read more

What a find and welcome addition to SSF. Gorgeous interior with food to match. Got their stuffed eggplant, but took off the tomatoes because I'm not a fan of anything ratatouille--like :-) The beet salad a mound of red and gold with goat cheese and vibrant greens. /Their butternut squash soup vegan, no butter or cream, and oozing the essence of squash, one of the best soups ever I've had. The Brussels sprouts, though they said was roasted, seemed fried, but were tasty and charred. The yams super gooey and good. We had one of the most amazingly unique breads ever--potato bread--it's not what you typically equate, that fluffy kind. Their Mediterranean freshly baked is dense and chewy with a give and salty and sweet, with an umami to it. Get it. The chocolate pudding and date cake are worth the sugar allotment :-) Service super sweet and friendly, e.g. they came out with two dips for the bread. Refills of water unobtrusive. The prices are more than fair. This is one of those places that make me wish I wasn't doing this vegan thing, because their lamb dishes look insanely good. We'll be back to try other things. Few days ago went with fam to revisit this nice place in ssf. Had been to an event here in the past and wanted to always come back and enjoy their tasty offerings. Ordered quite a few dishes - fresh baked bread with three yummy dipping sauces, avacado n carrot salad (not warmed), salmon kebab, family had chicken and shrimp kebab and had couple of their desserts- date cake and baklava with icecream. Have been at Amoura many times. It is one of the upper scale restaurants in SSF, which is a natural place for a lot of work events. I often meet up with work connections or host team events here. They are always very busy during lunch time for this very reason. Their decoration is pretty classic and well kept. All of their food items are very good. The main dish portion is not the biggest. If I come here without appetizers and just count on lunch plate, I feel hungry quickly after. But I also eat a lot. So this could be biased. Their veggie dishes, the lambs and the salmon are all really good. Their potatoes are very flavorful. I have tried almost all of their appetizers. The serving size is decent and flavor is good. My team enjoyed their flatbreads. Their lambs and salmons are pretty solid here. Avocado salad is very nice. Their service is overall friendly and attentive.
