If you work at oyster point and looking for somewhere to go with coworkers during lunch hours only, you could take them to hangar. It's a good choice if people want to be able to select from a variety of different cuisines - Mexican, Korean, Japanese, or American. But, I wouldn't say they are as good as going to a restaurant that specializes in one cuisine. I got a chicken sandwich and it was mid. The chicken had more fried bits than chicken. Also not worth the price. Cloud matcha was not what I expected but it eventually grew on me and reminded me of mollytea. Ended up tasting pretty decent but not sure I'd get it again at that price point. We also had trouble ordering sushi on the kiosk- ordered at the counter and took a while to get our food. It turned out just okay, unfortunately. I haven't tried anything else so maybe my review is a bit skewed and there may be some food options that are worth trying. This review is only for the "market hall". They also have a 2nd floor bar and lounge and a coffee shop in one corner of the building. Good food court style lunch spot on south side of 101 in SSF that's more upscale than your regular cafeteria but not as comfy as dining in a typical restaurant. Seems like several of these food courts are popping up in the area, however, since there aren't that many restaurants in the biotech district. The group has already successfully launched several other spots nearby in the Oyster Point/East Grand Ave area such as Foundry & Lux and another new market hall concept with more Italian food called Riposo. Anyway, building has cool, modern architecture with plenty of parking and they serve a variety of different foods ranging from sandwiches and salads to Korean, American or Mexican cuisine. I went with the double stack smash burger and it was pretty good. The meat was moist and tasty but it was a little soggy from the geneous sauteed onions and some sort of white sauce. Comes with fries that weren't bad, not as crispy as I'd like but not too greasy either. Got sort of crowded in the main seating area when I left around 12:30 but wasn't bad when i arrived at 11:45. Also they have good amount of outside seating, too, so I think you can bring pets. But this does cater to the workers in the area so didn't see any pets while I was there and the Market Hall is only open weekdays from 11-2. read more

Had the opportunity to check out this space a few weeks ago and it's really pretty nice. Getting in was a bit confusing. We went to the first door we saw from the parking lot but it was locked mid-day. We thought maybe this location wasn't open or available to all but we did see some people inside so we walked around the building a bit and found an unlocked door. The space is modern and very open. There were a lot of people using it as a work space, seated in all different areas of the bottom floor. There was a spot to grab a beverage and snack and we almost did but as we approached the snack bar, the menu for the upstairs restaurant caught my eye. It listed a dessert I just had to try so we made our way upstairs. That experience wasn't great as they told me the menu at the bottom of the stairs was old and then made no effort to change it out. I think we would have had a better time here had we just grabbed a drink downstairs and relaxed like most of the other patrons were doing. I really liked the space. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. There was a good vibe downstairs and I would definitely spend time here again. The Hangar consists of multiple restaurants and a lot of seating for you to work, chill, and enjoy! Seating is really spread out and there's nooks that you can sit alone or share with someone. It almost feels like a free WeWork space. Ordered a breakfast burrito from one of the restaurants near the entrance. They were the only restaurant open when we arrived. It was huge, but wished there were more potato! Also had the coffee and matcha on the first floor. Wasn't too strong but I still enjoyed it. The central stairs area looks like a nice coworking space for those who telework with its scattered cushions for seating on the bench like steps and glass glazing. Everything I had today was perfect in presentation and taste. High quality foods indeed. My hot chocolate was not overly sweet and I can actually taste milk cream in it. The fresh sashimi/poke type salad was made to excellence with finely sliced julienne cucumbers & carrots. Excellent texture and combination. Best brussels sprouts ever! Yummy and generous in portions. First impression was great. I will definitely revisit again. Maybe I'll try the tacos and quesadillas next. Love the Hangar! It was my first time checking out this spot as I was looking for a good study cafe and I'm so glad to have found this place! There were so many tables and seats available here, as well as wall outlets! The establishment is surrounded by windows so you get good lighting here as well! There's a "Market Hall" here with various restaurants ie. The Board, The Layover, La Ventura, and The Stack! The market hall is open from M-F 11am to 2 pm and serves a wide variety of food! I personally for the burrito bowl from La Ventura and loved it! Everything is all decently priced here. The Market Hall does get quite a bit of foot traffic here during lunch hours! Peak Provisions which is a coffee bar with a few breakfast toast and quick sandwich/ breakfast options is opened from M-F 7am to 3 pm. I ordered the matcha latte here and really enjoyed it! I haven't been to Camber but took a peak at their menu and the food looked delish! Camber is opened from Tues to Friday 12 pm to 8pm! The entire establishment was super clean and staff were so friendly! Service was also very quick. I saw a group of people in a room hosting their meetings here as well, and I think this is a great venue for meetings/ events! Been wanting to try this food hall out for a while and finally made it over for lunch on a Monday. There's plenty of parking out front which is always a plus! The space is huge and there are several different eateries and a cafe inside, as well as a nice restaurant on the second floor that's closed on Mondays. I was having decision paralysis from all of the different options, including sandwiches, poke, salads, Mexican and Korean, but eventually decided to get a fried chicken sandwich with tots. The breading on the fried chicken sandwich was super flavorful and crunchy, but the chicken was undercooked when I cut into the sandwich. I let the manager know and they comped it for me immediately (thank you!) and let me choose if I wanted the same item or something else. I opted for a double smash burger to be safe and was not disappointed! My friend got the fried chicken sandwich and didn't have any issues - hers was cooked well and she enjoyed it, so I think mine was just a fluke. My other friend got a poke bowl and liked it as well - it looked really good! Portion sizes here are good. There's tons of seating and overall the ambiance is super vibey. Came here to study while visiting home and I wish we had a place like this in OC! Inside is a market hall, restaurant, and coffee shop, with plenty of tables and booths. Lots of lighting/big windows as well as area away from the sun. When I got here at 11 am, it was pretty empty & quiet. However around lunch time, the place quickly filled up with people who I assumed worked around the area. They have water filling stations, wifi, and outlets, making this a great place to work, study, or grab a bite. The ground floor has an about 3 stories high wall completely of windows. For special events like sports there's a huge dropdown tv screen. This breakfast & lunch haven for the surrounding office workers is only a 10 minute drive south to SFO. Plenty of free parking, a casual seating area & around the corner space with fancy upholstered chairs with marble (?) topped tables, suitable for meetings, leisurely dining, & you won't get the stink eye from crabby people like me if you're a laptop camper. By noon more people start streaming in. There's even a conference room. Upstairs includes a fine dining restaurant open 4 - 8pm, combo bar/ lounge/ dining/ work area. A gym is available free to badge holders. About the parking lot- wanted to get some steps in so parked in the back row, only to be confused by an actual trench blocking you from walking directly to the side door. I didn't see the cutouts. Since it was my first visit I didn't realize you could also walk around the lot to reach the much more impressive main entrance. There is plenty of parking because they have their own lot. The space is beautiful and impressive when you walk in with it's lighting and high ceilings. The place is so clean because it's new. This would be a great place to WFH or have team meetings. The service here is just alright. I know they're still figuring things out. They are still training staff. I have seen it while waiting for my orders. They tend to get backed up. So please be patient. The drinks here (matcha lattes from and agua fresca from La Ventana) are delicious. They compete with any other overpriced coffee place in the area with their quality ingredients. However, other than the bulgogi bowl from the Layover, the food is not worth it. What I like about the bulgogi bowl is that you can request purple rice and the egg is the perfect amount of runny to mix the bulgogi well. The flavors are all there, but the portion size leaves you wanting more. I have gone on separate occasions to form a more comprehensive review and each time I am disappointed by the food. The meat used for the carne asada bowl was overly salted. The guac, sour cream and lettuce couldn't save it. I didn't mind the portion size this time because I honestly didn't want to keep eating. The chips were also very salty. I had a similar experience with the breakfast burrito. I was excited to try it and found that the inside was not fully cooked. The turkey sausage was cold and again, salty. The potatoes and scrambled eggs were also lukewarm. The salsa given with it didn't help with the taste and once again was salty. The local establishments and mom-and-pop shops are safe when it comes to competition. This place may be shiny and new, but the food is not worth your hard earned money. If you do come here with a group, coworkers, friends catch-up, I would just come for drinks and the ambience. read more

South City, you coming on up! It's nice to see SSF boom with new eateries around all the biotech businesses. The Hangar had been a highly anticipated opening, and I think could give Foundry & Lux some stiff competition for lunch breaks. My husband has been here several times, and since we were in the area on a Friday, we decided to place a pick up order. The Hangar has several dining options; from a spot for sandwiches and salads, to Korean and Asian Fusion, Mexican, and American classics (breakfast dishes, burgers and chicken sammies). We decided on Korean; I got the japchae with soy ginger chicken, and he got the bibimbap with beef bulgogi. I stayed in the car while he ran in to get the order. He still had to wait several minutes even though we were well past the pick up order time. Both dishes were fairly priced, and a hearty portion. I liked my japchae but thought the chicken was a little dry and lacked much flavor. Next time, I'd go for the beef or just leave it as vegetarian since it comes loaded with a ton of veggies (some non-traditional like zucchini). His bibimbap had a nice fried egg on top and was just as plentiful. I thought his was the winner of the two dishes. If I worked in the area, I would definitely come back for take out or push for a lunch date in to enjoy the ambiance. My group all have different preference for foods so I loved that we were able to order from different places and still eat together. Love the food hall concept. In terms of food, I tried the budae jjigae (army sure) from The Layover. I'd rate it a 3.5/5. The flavor of the soup was not bad. I think the kimchi stew would taste very similar except this had spam and hotdog/sausage pieces. My biggest disappointment was that the ramen noodles and rice cakes were very overcooked and soggy. The rice cakes especially were super mushy and I ended up tossing all of them out. If they could improve in this, I would definitely order it again and think it's be a great value meal at $12. Ooo build your own salad? Say less! We decided to swing by this place with a large group since we couldn't decide on a cuisine. They have 4 different stations and everyone gets to choose what they want to eat before huddling back. I came on Thursday and there was actually a lot of people! Most people chose the burger station and the korean bibimbap station. I went for a build your own salad for $12! The cashier there was extremely nice and even offered his personal recommendations on which toppings to choose. I would definitely be back. You can order from any of the food vendors from a self-service kiosk or just order at the counter from the vendor of you choice. You provide your phone number and you'll get a text when your order is ready for pickup. I've tried two of the restaurants so far. Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap from The Layover - would not order again. The dish lacks the amount of vegetables for a typical bibimbap. The bulgogi was just okay and nothing special. There is not a lot of rice and portion size is not great for the price you pay. *3 stars for this dish. Double Stack from The Stack - the double patty burger with brioche bun was tasty. It had good flavor with the seasoned patties and sauce. There is a good amount of french fries given as a side, but however, they were not good. Its location in the heart of the biotech hub is convenient, and the venue offers large event halls, with an upstairs area that functions as a bar later in the day. The food, however, is average relative to the price. The iced chai latte and lavender drink were overly sweet (requesting lower sugar may help). The chicken and waffles featured crispy chicken but were quite oily, and the waffle was somewhat firm and difficult to cut with the provided utensils. Plate stability could also be improved. You don't need to worry about parking too because there's a lot. They even have charging for EVs and plenty of disabled parking spaces. My team was in the process of planning a team event and The Hangar was recommended based on a previous event attended by their partner and so we decided to reach out. We got into contact with Caitlyn to inquire about their options for our holiday event and she was great to work with. Caitlyn was very responsive to our messages and did an amazing job coordinating with our team to view the space and work with our budget. Our team was about 40 people and we had a fabulous time with the drink and menu options offered. The space itself is very functional for multiple types and sizes of groups. Parking is plentiful and easy to get to. The staff was very friendly and our event was a complete success. I couldn't finish the side portion because of the salt, and when I'm choosing an add-on like sour cream and chives, I expect real sour cream, not sour cream flavoring/powder.
