Marketed as a Michelin food hall, I was a little disappointed by the variety of food options and overall vibe. For example, the sushi selections looked fairly vanilla, not the "omakase" style I was expecting. The prices seemed a little on the high side. For example, a single smash cheese burger at another food stall Butcher Shop was $16. The Italian sandwiches at Campo just looked like regular sandwiches you can get anywhere. There is a station called Dumpling Time. I was expecting some xiao long bao or pork and shrimp dumplings. Instead, they offered a variety of Bao and a few overpriced dumpling options that didn't look that enticing. Seemed like a mishmash of Asian food including some dumplings, bao, gyoza, noodles, and even dimsum. An order of four shrimp har gow was $13. On the other hand, the place was spacious with lots of seatings, some cool entertainment including a virtual golf and pool table. read more

I was so excited for this place, but it's not anything like the culinary experience you'd expect from the Omakase group. This is owned by the same group that owns Omakase, Dumpling Time, Okane, Juni, and shares chefs with Niku, etc. But you won't get the same gourmet food or service because this basically a corporate cafeteria. A posh one, but still. My friends were annoyed that their happy hour prices were regular price as anywhere else, and with portions at half the size. The seafood gyoza was good but it was such a small order. The seasoned fries were meh. Tasted like some mayonnaise mix on top without much else. The fried chicken and burgers looked okay. Nothing stood out, but nothing was bad. This is such an odd location my uber kept getting lost. It was such a large, empty hall so it wasn't a fun vibe either. Coming from the perspective of food, and sitting for work. Ambience 4/5 Overall, the sitting area is really nice and stylish, a lot of the area was revamped since being Traverse cafe. It's nice for meeting with coworkers and such. Though the tables for working with outlet access are more limited (either next loud TV or along the side for solo tables). There is plenty of seating though. And really gives good loungey vibes. If I worked in tech and wanted to meet with coworkers after work I'd come here. Parking garage had lots of spaces. Only kinda annoying part is thst the first 3 hours are free then you have to pay beyond that. 3-5 hours is $5, and 5-8hrs is $10 (I went over 5.25 and paid the wopping $10) Overall feels like a cafeteria like place where you walk up and order off of a screen at each location. As others have mentioned as well, it gets really busy during the 1130 to 1 PM hours where all the biotech workers come and eat -- which btw as someone who works in healthcare, I'm always SHOCKED at how lax people's lunch hours are front line healthcare workers often have to work through lunch out of necessity so it's a completely different vibe. Service 3/5 I think this was meant to be a don't-interact-and-order type place. Everything is done off a screen, after eating you bring your dishes to the bins. And though I sat there for 5+ hours I never saw anyone wipe tables. Food 4/5 Overall expensive but good quality. We got a Matcha strawberry latte, which actually looks pretty good ceremonial grade Matcha -- tasted like the strength of what I make at home (usually the ones I get at stores are either watered down or somewhat bitter) which is really great! However it did cost $8.50. We also got smash burgers ($19) and the fries ($8) and I got a side salad ($3). I haven't tried the original Butcher Shop burgers but I don't think this is the famous Wagyu burger that they serve there. All in all, not bad, but not sure it was worth $22 TBH. As much as I was excited about this, dinner service was super underwhelming. Perhaps it's because it's still new but there was a super limited menu with just the bar open. I will say that the staff was nice and doing the best they could. The food was alright, a bit pricey for the portion size. Visited on a Friday evening around 530 for an early dinner. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked well, with sweet caramelized onions that paired nicely with the beef. The chirashi bowl was fresh, and the fish tasted high quality. With six different concepts under one roof, everyone can find something they like--from Japanese and Chinese food to Italian and more. It's a great option for groups because nobody has to compromise. The space is huge, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Even when it felt busy, I had no trouble finding a table. They also have fun extras like arcade games and a Topgolf Swing Suite, making it more than just a place to grab a meal. I can definitely see this becoming a go-to lunch spot for nearby office workers. Parking is easy--just park in the garage underneath, take the elevator up one floor, and you're there. Is it the cheapest place to eat? No. But at the end of the day, it's your choice and your money. For me, the convenience, variety, atmosphere, and entertainment make it well worth the visit. I read about Omakase World Market in a SF Chronicle article and we decided to check it out when we were passing by. It is housed in a life science tech campus and serves the employees of the biotech companies there but it is also open to the public. You parked in the underground garage (free 3 hrs) and take the elevator to the second floor. The market hall is an enormous space, and the ambience is very upscale. 3 western style restaurants are on one side, and 3 Asian restaurants are on the other. There are outdoor patio dining spaces as well as indoor seatings throughout. At one end of the market hall is a lounge space with sofas and big screen TV, as well as pool table and shuffle board. This is definitely not your usual food court. We followed the Chronicle's advice to get there early before the employees of the biotech companies spill out for their lunch. You can place your order from any of the 6 restaurants using one of several of the kiosks on the floor. We ordered the forestier sandwich and chips from Cuisinett, a French bistro cafe; smash burger from Butcher Shop Niku; Beijing noodles and dumplings from Dumpling Time; and sushi roll from Ichiba Sushi. If you order from different restaurants, you do have to pickup from the individual restaurants as there is no central pickup place. You get notifications on your phone when your order is ready. We enjoyed our lunch there, especially the Beijing noodle, smash burger and forestier sandwich. We were surprised at the high quality food served in the market hall. The workers at the life science campus sure are lucky to have such a nice place to eat! read more

There's A LOT of potential for Omakase World. Upon entering, you get that WOW effect as the space is massive! There are lots of cuisines to choose from -- unfortunately not one worker greeted us with just a friendly hello. I understand everything is ordered from the kiosk at each counter but workers can still welcome us with a simple greeting. I was impressed with all the beautiful and clean seating. You can spend a day working here, having casual business meetings, or try a team building activity. I didn't see the pool tables so I'm not sure where those are hidden. I did see the golf activity so maybe it's tucked away in that corner. There is ample free parking in the lot. Omakase is also located relatively close to the bay trail. I neglected to take any pictures because I was honestly disappointed in the food selection -- everything seems overpriced and I wonder if that's meant to offset the overhead expenses for keeping a facility like this running. I'm hoping Omakase will make improvements over time. I can see this being a cool hangout spot for teenagers even. read more

Decent, but doesn't hold a candle to the renowned sandwich shops in SSF. I ordered The Butcher Shop's SingleSmash Cheese Burger ($16.) Love the piquant flavors of raw onions, pickles, ketchup, & mustard that cut through the rich beefy flavor of the patty. I also tried their Butcher Shop Fries ($8); large portion, but I didn't care for the overly-sweet Kewpie ponzu mayo drizzle. Thank you the man who works in the bakery located here near the entrance and helped inform us how to order and that we had until 2 pm to place one on the tablet before it closes out. Really appreciate it! Anyway, the food may be pricey here, but the portions and quality make up and have them do justice. We ordered the fries with the mayo and seasoning on it and I was amazed with how big the portion was. We were able to share it amongst 3 people! Also, the smash burger was juicy and delicious. came on a monday evening around 6pm, when most of their offerings are closed except for the bar. place wasn't too busy but was frustrated as the info sign explaining how it works was actually *not* how it worked when we were there. there also wasn't anyone really directing us to sit down, nor did they have menus out at the "order here" counter. it took me waiting for another party to finish looking at a menu at the bar to then have them ask me if i wanted to see the menu. did not feel welcoming. the ambiance here is BEAUTIFUL though! tons of seating, the chairs and tables are sturdy and beautiful (taking notes for my house). since it isn't too busy, the noise level is quite low and made for a very calming meal which i liked. the seating is also open, so you can sit wherever you please. my only gripe was that several tables were dirty and no one was coming around to wipe them down. katsu sliders (5/10): sandwich portions were larger than expected, but the chicken was dry (though tasty). cabbage added some crunch but not much ginger flavor. more of the ponzu aioli would help with flavor and dryness. fries were a bit soggy, like an in-between of in& out and mcdonalds fries. seafood gyoza (7/10): the presentation on this was beautiful! thankfully it tasted great too, as i wasn't expecting much. the shrimp was cooked perfectly and tender. the flavors were also balanced, umami and not too salty. was very impressed by the location and setting but service and actual food were mediocre, especially at their higher price point. would maybe come back to try their breakfast, but it's difficult when they're closed on wekeends read more

This is basically an upscale food court. The space was pretty spacious & clean. They have open kitchens of each vendor. Ordering system needs a bit more tweaking. They only have a handful of screens where you place your orders. This causes long waits to just place your order. But at least you can order from any vendors all at once. Food was nothing exciting. I had pizza (lacks flavor). My hubby had a burger which was pretty decent. My son had a chirashi bowl which didn't look anything like the picture on their website. This was the only dish that was served in a chintzy plastic to go container. It was $29 for 10 super thin slices of fish. Very disappointing. Came here on a Monday before the lunch rush from workers nearby. The place is very new and clean, with free play games (golf, Football, soccer, & baseball simulation), a few arcade games, shuffle board, and pool table. Theres indoor and outdoor seating with really comfy and pretty furniture. Theres a few restaurants there at this moment: Campo (Italian), Cuisinett (sandwiches), The Butcher Shop by Niki Steakhouse (burgers & fries), Dumpling Time (Chinese), Ichiba (Japanese), And Tokyo Series (pastries & coffee). Theres one ordering system for all the restaurants and you just have to pickup when they call your number. I think it's still being figured out because it's inefficient for us to go from one end of the other end of the food hall to grab our orders at different spots with the same number and not being able to hear our number if we are at one location. They do alert to your phone but it is quite delayed as we got our orders 15-20 minutes before I got a text. We ordered from Dumpling Time and The Butcher Shop -- the combo dumpling ($17), Beijing noodles with egg ($18), and katsu burger ($18). The dumplings and buns were alright, as they were a little over cooked and dried. The noodles were a bit salty and my egg was overcooked -- was expecting soft boiled as it says on the menu. The katsu burger was the best as it was juicy and a thin crisp vs too much breading. Free water stations, and a place to put all your used dishes. Omakase World Market is a gem! I come here a few times a week and have tried most of the menu items; the exceptional ones are all of their homemade pasta dishes (ask for some sea salt on the side - it is a heavenly combo), the burrata sandwich, scallion noodles, and the fries. Their homemade chips get a shoutout too but they come on the side and you can't actually order them - otherwise they would give the fries a run for their money. Everything else is solid. If I'm in the mood for sushi, it's definitely restaurant quality and it gets the job done. The burger is excellent too but the brioche bun can be a bit large and dry. The service is top notch. I'm usually here for the entire work day and I can tell that the staff are excellent. The engagement, the focus, and the service are next level. They have impeccable attention to detail and a strong drive for continuous improvement. Every week, something has improved - whether it's decor, logistics, or menu. New space for worker bees to dine in or out. Nice, clean space and big tables available for group dining. To order use the touchscreen pads they have on each side of the dining hall but you can only order food that are specific to each side. One side has the Japanese, Chinese and coffee bar, the other side has Italian, burger and sandwich/salad options. We tried ham and Swiss cheese from Cuisinett and a Vegan Burrata salad from Campo. Food is not too bad. I thought the ham and Swiss on baguette was on the smaller size for $18. The salad was fresh and tasted great with pesto sauce. Portion was a bowl size and was filling enough. Ok if you're not that hungry. The only con was that the ordering system did not lists cold drinks for purchase: it was down so we just had water at the self serve station. We also did not bus any of our dishes as this is cleaned by the staff. There are no areas for dirty dishware. Parking: there is a garage you can enter from the side by the loading area or through a driveway around the backside. It's free for 0-3 hours. Everything is closed. Don't come here if you wanna get like dinner definitely a scam and not a world market or not even a food hall there's only one restaurant and it's not a restaurant. Not dog friendly in outdoor spaces. Per security no pets permitted on campus. No signage in outdoor spaces to this effect. Unable to try food as kiosks shut down food service at 2pm.
