Foundry and Lux is such a great spot for food, drinks, events, and getting together with a large group. One of my favorite things here is their rotating food specials. Their chicken tinola is delicious and reminds me of the home cooked family style tinola I grew up eating. The broth is warm, comforting, and full of flavor, and I love that the chicken is already deboned. It gives you that homemade comfort food feeling while making it easy to enjoy. They also do a great job with themed and seasonal events. During Christmas they had reindeer and cookie decorating, which made the whole place feel festive and family friendly. It is more than just a place to grab food. They make an effort to create an experience. There is also a bowling alley and a full bar, so there is something for everyone. It is especially great for large groups because you can eat, have drinks, bowl, and hang out all in one place. Service has always been awesome, and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I came here with my bf to have lunch on a Friday. It was pretty quiet with lots of seating inside. When you walk in, there are different counters depending on your food choice. We went to the grill, where you order at the register. Brussels Sprouts: 5/5. I really loved the charred crispiness they were able to achieve on this. The balsamic and sesame seeds really tie it together. Fried chicken sandwich: 4/5. It was a panko crusted chicken, which I found to be good, but was wishing it was buttermilk fried to get the airy crispiness. The bread and condiments inside complimented the sandwich well! The salad was okay.. the dressing was very vinegar heavy. F&L Burger: 4/5. I was pleasantly surprised by this burger. It was good but I found it strange that the special sauce was served on the side. I also thought the bread was well toasted. I ordered well done because my bf said the medium is sometimes too rare, but it was still pink inside for being well done. I actually preferred it like this, but just be aware the cook in the patty may be inconsistent. I subbed sweet potato fries, and they were delicious! I really enjoyed their crispiness. We met our friends & their daughter for lunch as it was her last day at her current job. The cafe is located at the Cove campus. We parked in the free parking garage and walked over. The huge footprint reminded me of an high end cafeteria- salad bar, sandwiches, grill & pizza. It's opened to the public; however I can't see coming here to eat unless you work in one of the office buildings. In addition to the cafe, there's a two lane bowling alley and a bar lounge. Work & play. Ordered - * hubby & I both ordered the F&L burger. Served on a brioche bun. Dressed with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and sliced dill pickle. I don't like dill pickles but these were yummy. Dill & sweet & a crunchy. It really made the burger. The burger was cooked to order, and the bun toasted on the grill. Choice of fries or green salad. Order & pay at the grill. Given a #. Order brought to your table. Hubby got a draft beer from the bar. I got a rose lemonade. I misread the bottle thinking it was a rose alcoholic beverage not a botanical flower drink. It was different. Overall 3.5 stars. read more

This is a perfect spot to host after work happy hours or small events. They have bowling alleys too. We've been here several times for happy hours or events. They change up on their special cocktails pretty often. Decent cocktails and options for small bites. My favorite appetizers are the Brussels sprouts and the truffle fries. For just the ambiance alone, this place is worth five stars. The food isn't top-notch, but the surroundings certainly are. Service is expedient, and you get pretty much all the entertainment you could ask for and it's on the house. There are two full bowling lanes, ping pong tables, basketball courts, and TVs everywhere for sports. The only thing you need to do is order some food or beer? Count me in! Tonight our flight got cancelled and we ended up staying in a walkable distance to the foundry. We had two kids with us and this place made for a great experience! The bar and lounge were relatively quiet and empty. We were able to walk up to the bowling lanes and bowl for free while we ordered our food. They also offer ping pong, corn hole, bocce and pool. Bonus highlight: meeting Spencer, the coolest General Manager, welcoming, down-to-earth, and clearly running a great spot. I've been coming here for years as I work nearby and it's one of very few dining spots in this area. The space is quite large and is great for hosting events. In the day time, the cafe and main dining area are open. In the afternoon/early evening, the other side opens which features a small bowling area with 2 lanes, a pool table, bar area with tables, and outdoor patio. Cafe - I highly recommend the lavender latte! This is hands down my favorite coffee from F&L. The cafe area has plenty of seating and plugs, so it's great for catching up in-person or working remotely on your laptop. The cafe also offers juices, pastries, Boichik bagels and breakfast burritos. Lunch - I don't have lunch regularly here but have enjoyed the fried chicken plate and BLT, which I believe are occasional specials. The F&L burger is also decent. Happy Hour - I like their crispy brussels and fries the best, but the lumpia is also good and surprisingly authentic! read more

The staff is incredibly rude! We came with a party of 17 PREDISCUSSED and bought lunch for every person. The staff asked us not to open up our outside food (one of our employees made baked goods) we agreed and understood. Later the rude blonde lady was yelling at our manager telling her how disrespectful it was to come and bring outside food. Casual vibe that houses a cafe, dining room, and lounge. They offer dine-in lunch & Happy Hour (even available for online order / takeout!). There's a bar serving delicious cocktails and a rotation of beer on tap. The catering menu is outstanding - available for onsite events or local delivery. I hosted a corporate event recently, and everyone enjoyed the food and amenities despite a couple hiccups that staff graciously remedied. Foundry & Lux has its own bowling alley and pool table for use by patrons as FCFS - sign up list opens at 2pm. Outdoor games are provided by The Cove and not F&L, weather permitting. This includes an assortment of games: bocce, whiffle ball, basketball, mini golf, horse shoe pits, and other lawn games. There's also direct access to the Bay Trail in the rear. Ambience 5/5 I love coming here to work or to have a business meeting! Plenty of parking (can get busy during the day), plenty of outlets/plugs, and it's divided into a cafe, lunch area, and lounge type deal depending on what time of day you come. People pretty much come here and mind their own business or walk in from the surrounding biotech/tech companies for lunch or happy hour. Food 5/5 The lattes are yummy and reasonable priced - $5-6. I've also had a sandwich with a side salad and a salad and they're reasonable for the bay :) and quite tasty! Also once tried the wings and fries which were yummy. Service 4/5 I enjoy it cause no one really bothers you if you're just working :) if you want food, people are attentive if you're at the lounge. We came during happy hour and ordered a variety of food off the happy hour menu. The appetizers were pretty good like the brussel sprouts and chicken wings but the mains like the sliders and Margherita pizza were meh. When we got the pizza, we were thinking it looked kind of saucy for a margherita pizza and when we ate it, it tasted like lunchables pizza like everything on it was technically cooked but not baked at a high temp and kinda soggy. Maybe they just forgot to bake our pizza? But saw another photo on here that was just as saucy. They have a pizza oven... so not sure why the pizza would be so bad. Took the remaining home and baked it - it tasted so much better. Ambiance is pretty nice, has indoor and outdoor seating. Can be pretty cold and windy outside but they have heaters so it was fine. We've came several times before as well for happy hour and it's always a hit or miss with the food. Some dishes are pretty good but others are meh. The ambiance is nice. Coming in through the building lobby, the bar is not easy to find as you must cross though the large, empty cafeteria and go through the partially opened room divider. There must be another entrance. People I met there said that they didn't come in that way. Service is good. The waiter and busser were attentive and came right over when we signaled for them. We only stayed for an hour, but the place felt comfortable enough that we wished we could stay longer. Happy Hour drinks were fairly priced, but I wasn't interested in the selection. The waiter said that the selection rotates, and they change it up regularly. I noticed that the Old Fashioned said that it was pre-mixed. I inquired. The waiter said that they mix up the Old Fashioned recipe in bulk to save time in serving, but the ingredients are all there and it tastes the same. I ordered it and was disappointed. We both got oat milk lattes and they were so yummy! After a couple hours of work, we walked over to the food cafe to grab a bite and all the stuff were so sweet and kind. The service was quick and everything was clean and tidy. There's so many different food options available, but we opted to build our own salads and, oh my goodness! We got onion rings, pork sliders, and Asian chili-glazed cauliflower "wings", which I particularly enjoyed (though everything was good! All of that plus two pints of Henhouse Saison beer came to less than $40.) Friday, May 23, 2025 What would've been a party of 5. We made plans to hang out here, have a couple of drinks, eat and watch the game before the long weekend. Me being the responsible adult that I am took Uber here. 2 of us arrived first at 6pm. Yelp says they close at 8 PM and their website says last call is at 7:30pm. Server approaches us as we walk in and says that their manager decided to close early since it was slow and it is a long weekend. There were already a few customers inside and another person entered after us. I expressed my surprise and said that we had made plans with others to meet here. There was no sign stating they were closing early on their door nor their website. She was apologetic and asked how many more and I told her 3 more will be there within minutes. She said she would go ask her manager. She came back and said that her manager said they will close early and would not be able to accommodate us. Totally not cool. You are a business with posted hours. Stay open during those posted hours. I get closing if you have a private event but it is unacceptable when you decide last minute to close early on a whim because it is slow. Why have posted hours then? We won't be back. Our friend that lives in the area "surprised " us with this gem. I came here in November 2021 so it is still during the pandemic. We arrived just before 4 o'clock so not much of crowd. My friends brought their three kids with us, they were entertained with the two bowling lanes that we occupied for free. The bowling lanes are on a first come basis. Shoe covers and gloves are provided as well. Now for the good stuff... food and drinks. We went for happy hour! The deals were great! Hipster-techy heaven! If you're annoyed by the SF hipster transplants infiltrating SSF, stay away!! But, if you do enjoy some of the fun places they tend to frequent, you may want to try it out at least once. Here's why: free billiards, free basketball court, free bowling! I don't know why my reviews keep fluctuating for Foundry & Lux, but that's just how it is :( Today was a 'could've been better' experience. I came in around 2:40pm hoping I could catch their cafeteria food items before they close for the day, but no luck. Doors were closed and only the bar area was open. Hmm, okay, why not? I haven't dined in for awhile! As I walked in from the patio entrance to the bar, it was relatively empty and quiet. Yay! I missed the lunch rush and craze.. or so I thought.. Anyways, my server was incredibly patient, kind, and attentive, so I did not have any problems/complaints with the service whatsoever! I did, however, have a problem with how crowded the bar got once I ordered my food. A whole swarm of people came in for happy hour, I presume, and began to fill the establishment. There were some empty tables for 2-4 people to sit, but for some odd reason, the crowd that came in simply wanted to stand around. I'm totally fine with that, but I wasn't comfortable with folks crowding around my table as I ate. There was a gentleman who was rather close to my table and visibly coughing, as well as his 5 colleagues orbiting the side of my table, which made me uncomfortable to eat my meal. Eventually, the coughs get a bit louder and the guy decides to excuse himself to the restroom for relief. I felt that it was my cue to leave before the bar got even crazier... I'm glad my intuition was right on the dollar, because as I walked out with my food, 10 more people came flooding in... I noticed that the bowling/back area of the bar was sectioned off today. Perhaps for an event? Either way, I just felt incredibly claustrophobic and dissatisfied with my lunch experience at Foundry's today and just wished that they'd open up space or minimize the number of people inside... I know COVID restrictions have lifted, but I still think we should still err on the side of caution when it comes to gathering and having a bunch of people without any masks on or space to socially distance ourselves. Aside from not really being able to eat and enjoy my meal, I thought food was okay. I ordered sweet potato fries and their fried chicken burger. The sweet potato fries were a nice change from the truffle fries! The fried chicken burger was so salty! I'm not sure if I was unlucky, but the breading/batter that coated the chicken was really, really salty! Some areas were fine and then some areas felt saturated in saltiness? I was glad to have ordered a salad to eat with my burger, because it really helped me stomach the salty chicken. I also wanted to ask: is it possible to change the buns anytime soon? I feel like the buns that Foundry & Lux use for their burgers do not do any justice to their delicious options. Compared to the soft brioche buns I've seen at other burger establishments, the buns here are dry, mealy, and crumble so easily. I'm grateful for the side of buttermilk aioli that helped me glue the bun pieces together as it fell apart with each bite. TLDR; I'll try to come around 1pm (before happy hour) or just order my food to-go in the future if I do decide to stop by during happy hour. Skip burgers unless you're okay with dry buns and ask servers to request for the chicken to lightly seasoned the breading. Side note: If you didn't know, Foundry & Lux is the place to go for lunch/dinner/drinking/whatever you wanna do with your coworkers or friends! They've got a calming, relaxing lounge/cafe area in the back (where to-go orders are found), a spacious, open cafeteria styled dining area, and then a relaxing but playful bar in the back. I'm just bummed that the cafeteria and cafe area close so darn early! 3:00pm! I get that it's probably due to COVID as well as everyone rolling back to work after lunch, but can I girl find a place to study and eat? read more
