This was not expected! I cannot say enough about how lovely this meal was. It's in the heart of one of the most industrial zones I have found myself in. When I found it, I wasn't sure it was even open. There was an area downstairs with other places that was apparently only open for lunch. Inside it felt like an office building. Lots of seating. Not a ton of people on a Tuesday night. But upstairs sat this wonderful little restaurant. I sat at the bar. So hungry. There were few other folks at the bar as well. I got the cream of asparagus soup, the house salad, and the salmon. They were all phenomenal. Truly. Fresh and unique all around. The bartender was super knowledgeable about different wines, liquors and ultimately pairings. If you are near this area for any reason, you really should try and make it here. It's beautiful. Passing by, you would never imagine this French spot in the middle of biotech land. The place is fairly casual though expect to see most patrons after 4 pm in business casual coming to happy hour after work. You can take any seat you find. I recommend the patio. For the food, I had 3 dishes: Butter board (4/5): this was great. The board comes with firebrand sourdough paired with a cultured butter that tastes almost cheesy, a sun-dried tomato butter that tastes somewhat sweet and tart, and a caramelized onion butter which was the best of the bunch. All were fantastic and bread was excellent. Only complaint was they needed to give more bread (extra is $4) Steak frites (4.5/5): incredibly tender steak with bold beefy flavor. It came with a flavorful au poivre demi glace which was flavorful and delicious as well. The pommes frites (fries) were a bit disappointing - pretty soggy and not crispy but big on potato flavor. It also came with beans which honestly were not necessary. Peach tarte tatin (5/5): very balanced dessert. The peach tarte tatin came with a fragrant vanilla bean ice cream and a caramel sauce that was the star. The caramel was not too sweet and added a wonderful slight bitterness to contrast the sweet. Our server Connor was excellent. Knowledgable, friendly, and sharp. He recommended every dish we ordered and not one missed. On my visit there were a handful of other guests with plenty of seating through out the space, decided to grab seats at the bar. Drinks: Pomegranate Margaritas - a special that evening - a bit on the sweet side with subtle pomegranate notes, wished this had more acidity and pomegranate flavor Food: Mushroom Croquettes - cames with 3 pieces, nice and crispy exterior with a creamy savory center, subtle mushroom, aioli had a mild kick Grilled avocado and quinoa salad - pretty good, lots of avocado which came with nice grill marks, dressing was well balanced, a slight lemon note didn't pick up a ton of cilantro, quinoa made this a pretty hearty salad Grilled octopus - very good, octopus was perfectly cooked with a nice char from the grill , chimmichuri paired nicely, herby not to oily with a hint of spice, the preserved lemon really tied this together adding pops of salty acidity Steak frites - it was a special of the evening - cut of meat wasn't very good had quite a lot of grissle, steak was underseasoned the Béarnaise sauce helped a bit which was creamy with a bit of tarragon, fries were thin cut but a little soggy would skip this Pavlova - pretty good, crispy meringue cup filled with a berry sorbet topped with whipped cream and fresh berries, a nice sweet treat to end the meal light but satisfying Service was solid, but at times a bit slow. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Took a little while to get drinks and entrees out and water refills were slow but eventually came. A bit of a mixed experience, beautiful spacious restaurant with a stunning bar. The small plates and salad were all excellent, maybe stick with the mainstays on the menu and wait to explore the specials. read more

I would give this a 5 star review even though i did just come here to read a book and have an appetizer of fries. The server Eugene was great and very attentive. Will give a full review when i come in for the drinks and entrees. All in all, i mainly liked it for the decor and ambiance, it's very open and gives a lot of natural light. Camber treads the line between fine dining and casual, but my experience definitely felt more casual. Maybe it was just a busy day due to what I assume was an office gathering, but the staff seemed disorganized. We rarely had plates when our food arrived! As for the food, it was a bit underwhelming. We had a variety of items from the menu, but the only thing that stood out to me was the Prosciutto Croquette, which was nicely crispy which an ultra rich jammy center. Beyond that, the hamachi crudo was very muted by the strawberry pairing. The roasted chicken was not very crispy and the grilled octopus was like literally eating the ocean (the salt parts). I was especially disappointed in the escargots because if it comes with six snails, why would there only be 4 baguette slices. The flavors of the food did not feel harmonious and nothing seems intentional. Overall, I think for the price point you could get a better experience elsewhere. If you do still plan on stopping by, I recommend reading through the menu on their website. Past reviews and photos indicated that there was duck al'orange, but that was not the case when we went. Whether that is a testament to the level of appreciation diners had for the dish or was to difficult of a dish to prepare is beyond me. read more

The crust is so crispy and the taste is just right (that's essential!) Not too sweet but the caramel and the roasted chestnuts are perfectly added. Camber is absolutely fantastic! Like the rest of The Hangar, it has a beautiful interior, with comfortably plush seating, lots of natural light, and nice music playing overhead. And as a restaurant, it absolutely blew away my expectations. This place can compete with the nicest hotel restaurants in SF, at way better prices. I cannot believe I ate duck l'orange with a 2015 Syrah for lunch on a Friday with my laptop out - what a privilege to be here in the Bay with places like this! This would be a great place to hold a meeting, or to grab a drink after a day working in the space downstairs. Or like my partner and I did - take a nice long lunch midway through a remote work day. The staff are also very nice, courteous, and fast - really, this place has the experience of a high-end restaurant, but with entrees all around $25 and a much more relaxed vibe. There's a ton of great looking appetizers too, and we're definitely going to come back to try them all. I'm so glad South City is getting places like this! This is like a parody of a really nice French restaurant. The whole menu looks great but nothing I ordered had any flavor. The onion soup looked spectacular with a floating puff pastry over the top, but the soup underneath had very little taste of onion and almost no gruyere. And the puff pastry was raw in the center, so I couldn't even pull the pieces off to eat. I also had prosciutto croquettes which tasted very little of prosciutto, had a strong potato flavor (totally fine in a croquette as long as there is something else going on), and for some inexplicable reason, were very, very sweet, as if sugar had been poured on. The cocktail was similarly flavorless. Very disappointed as the menu looks incredible. Beautiful venue and the waitstaff were great, the only complaint is the food (which was shocking). read more

Parking could not get any easThere's a patio section that is the perfect spot on a sunny day. They also have heater for all other days. The food and cocktails are fantastic and everything I've tried has been delicious. The price point is seems truly affordable for what you're getting and experience. The service is always excellent. The restaurant itself looks nice, but my experience with their event coordinator, Molly, was incredibly disappointing. I had reserved a party of 15 via email, and despite multiple attempts to follow up, she responded weeks later after my last message. The staff at the restaurant even gave me her direct number, yet she continued to only reply sporadically by email. It took 21 days of inconsistent, delayed communication for her to finally tell me that someone else had booked out the entire restaurant--after she had already told me she could accommodate my group as a regular reservation. She only offered for my group to be seated downstairs at the marketplace for two hours . That's not what I booked for . Her final email was condescending, starting with "I'm sorry you feel that way," instead of acknowledging the poor communication and confusion she caused. And in her last email, she had mentioned that she needed a credit card, but never asked me for one until she canceled my party. It's funny how she was responding promptly to all of the emails today yet she failed to communicate consistently for the past 21 days via email. As someone who lives in the area, I had hoped this would be a place I could support and return to. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be coming back and cannot recommend a restaurant with such unprofessional customer service. read more

This is a long overdue review. Celebrated my birthday here last September. We were all too busy talking that we didn't get to take a lot of pictures of our food, which were beautifully presented. We ordered the charcuterie and bread and butter board. They looked too beautiful to eat but they were also good. We ordered different entrees including salmon and steak and they were very flavorful.
