    Double Kebab Plate
    Sushant Z.

Still simply the best! I ate a street wrap with lamb and it was so tender and juicy. I love the soft and tasty bread and filling. Nothing has changed. It's still as good as it was but now in a beautifully decorated space. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Plenty of seating inside and out. Water and hot tea available. Everything always stocked and clean. I hadn't been to this location since it reopened since I've been satisfying my Mazra craving at the Redwood City location but this place is the best! Not sure why but I feel like the grilled meat is tastier. Forgot to mention that the staff is always so nice and courteous.

I came here on weekend evening for dinner. We ordered various items to try and they were all delicious. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, lamb chop plate, double kebab plate, and a side of fries. For the plates they come with rice, pita, house pickles and your choice of two sides. Since we had three entrees, we tried a variety of sides they had available. For sides we got: hummus, babaganoush, muhammara, roasted red beet dip, tabbouleh salad and arabi salad. All the sides were delicious. For the plates, the chicken shawarma plate came with a large portion of chicken that was thinly sliced. Very good flavor and went nicely with their garlic toum. The lamb chop was a bit overcooked for us but had a very nice flavor. For the kebab plate, we got the lamb kebab and the kofta kebab, both were fine but the lamb was overcooked. Overall, this restaurant has nice decor, and will definitely be back again.

10/10 experience - such a lovely, vibrant and casual spot. I love how beautifully designed the restaurant is. It is spacious with great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Great for small gatherings, dates and more. Also, I super love the self serve stations for hot tea, water, and additional items. Easy to order food with our phone using the QR code on the table sign, and they have physical menus when they seat you. My friend and I just shared everything and we still had a ton to take home: - 1 WHOLE CAULIFLOWER $14.00 - 1 CHICKEN SHAWARMA PLATE $22.00 W/ Hummus Dip & Baba Ganoush Dip - 1 FRENCH FRIES $6.00  Small - 1 RASPBERRY LEMONADE $6.00 - 1 MELON PINEAPPLE REFRESHER $6.00 Everything was fresh, flavorful and more. Appreciate that they leave the bottled sauces at the tables now - total game changer and very generous to do that. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing!! Possibly some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Our group loved everything that we had. - whole cauliflower: 10/10, AMAZING. Tender, but still snappy with ana amazing tahini sauce - fried olives: so unique, the fried batter brings down the pickled flavor of the olives so it's easy to eat - kabob plates: super flavorful kabobs, our favorite was the kofta - rotisserie chicken: flavorful and juicy! - all the sides we got were really good, my favorite was the beet dip and the rice is super flavorful Everything is self serve here - you order through a QR code and grab your own water/hot tea and togo containers. The people who work here are super friendly and will come by often to check up on you too. Overall, loved it!

Was able to walk in during lunch hours easily. Service was extremely quick. Nice ambiance with indoor and covered outdoor seating for a nice sunny day looking out into the busy traffic goers on/off freeway. Definitely on the pricier side with single-sized portions, no more no less. Ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate with a side of potatoes and tziki from the QR code at each table. Wish I tried the dolma sides. Chicken was heavily seasoned, leaning a bit too salty for my taste, but overall a classic item from the menu done well. Table came with a side of pita, pretty average, wasn't the best pita. **Neighborhood parking, can be a hit or miss

I have long heard tell of the legendary Mazra and finally managed to venture down and give them a try last weekend. Mazra offers up Mediterranean foods in a welcoming and beautiful restaurant that has both indoor and outdoor seating. Upon arrival, you can quickly take advantage of their free tea offering. It doesn't seem like they do reservations, so be prepared for a slight wait if you show during peak hours. Once seated, you are prompted to order by QR code where you can glance at the menu and make your choices. I ended up going with the two meat plate (chicken and lamb). These plates come with rice and two sides. I ended up going with two dips to accompany my rice and pita. The flavor of the lamb and chicken were both on point. The meat was fresh and moist (I was definitely craving more by the time I was finished). I washed everything down with a tasty banana/oat milk/ date shake that was creamy and satisfying. My friends ordered the fried halloumi cheese for the table as well. The cheese was crispy, salty, and delicious. It's also served with a small side of honey which makes for a nice drizzle. I also ordered a side of falafel for the table which was unfortunately the most disappointing offering (too dry). Otherwise, all the food was excellent! Mazra gets top marks for food quality, vibes, and beauty of location. I really liked the internal decor and paintings at their San Bruno location. Check them out if you're ever in the area!

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but can be a little wait if it gets busy. You can go up to order or order on the QR code, you also grab your own plates , utensils, and water. Paying is also simple in that you can pay on the phone that you ordered from. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced, especially for the quality and amount of food you get. Love all the hummus and different dips you get, highly recommend getting lots of different ones if you are with friends so you can all try as many different ones as possible. We got the whole cauliflower to share, it was roasted well with lots of seasoning and cheese, it was flavorful and heavy and well worth the calories. I got the double kebab plate with shrimp and ground kofta. Both kebabs were seasoned wonderfully and paired nicely with the sides and rice.

This review is for their takeout. It was easy to order online and the food was ready on time. Pickup up was easy and fast since they have a dedicated pickup window. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and you get to pick two different sides. I enjoyed the muhammara and beet dip. I also liked the sauces it came with. Great meal, I would definitely come back .

A friend recommended this place after a good experience at their Redwood City location, so we decided to try this one on a Wednesday. The restaurant is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio has plenty of shaded tables, making it a comfortable spot to dine. Ordering is done through a QR code, and food is brought to the table. They also offer self-service cold water and hot tea stations inside and outside, which is a nice touch. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. We ordered the Double Kebab Plate with filet mignon and lamb kebab (filet mignon add $2), along with French fries and garlic potatoes. We also tried the Falafel Mezza Sampler, which came with six falafel, six dips (hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush, roasted beet, muhammara, and cucumber yogurt), and three pita breads. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Both the filet mignon and lamb kebab were dry and overcooked, and the portion of meat was quite small for the price. The rice was overly soft and lacked texture, as if it had absorbed too much water or been sitting for a while. We only took a small bite before leaving the rest untouched. The falafel was also overcooked and dry, and the size was small compared with another place. The highlight of the meal was the dips, especially the muhammara and cucumber yogurt, which were flavorful, while the rest were just okay. The space itself is clean, spacious, and pleasant, but the food did not live up to expectations. I really wanted to like it, but the quality was inconsistent and underwhelming for the price. Overall: Great ambiance and convenient ordering system, but the food was dry, overcooked, and not worth the price.

This place is outstanding, food was light and bursting with flavor. Tea and water is self serve as for utensils and plates. You check in to put your name on the waitlist, parking is tough in the area due to the tight streets. At the table, server takes your order and they bring it the food out. Open kitchen to observe the workings. Causal vibes here and great food for any occasion Order: Fries-BEST FRIES EVER with golden color and seasoned well Falafel: lacking a bit in this dish, dry and needed the dip. can pass on this. Filet mignon kebab plate with side potatoes and baba ganoush- extra $2 for the filet mignon but it is worth it because it's tenderness and not dry at all. Whole cauliflower: yes, a whole cauliflower that is one of their signature dishes. packed with flavor and has this tahini sauce on it, not heavy at all on the taste.

A 20 min wait on Friday night but worth it for tasty bites of everything we ordered. Unlimited tea and sauces to compliment the food. Fast service so be ready to eat. Enjoy the nice ambiance on the patio or inside. Good date nite but it can get loud.

Damn... can I say, the food here is AMAZING! The only way to do it to try everything is FAMILY STYLE. The cantaloupe pineapple juice is out of the world. We can around an hour before they closed. They quoted a 30-40 minute wait, but it ended up being only 10 mins. Everything is self serve, and the employees just bring the food to you. They are quick to buss your tables. There are a lot of FOH employees just talking with each other. Besides that, their system is very thought out and efficient.

The lamb chops are scrumptious, highly recommended.

In the 2 months I've been here 4 plus times and all times I've been delighted by the food, service and hospitality of this restaurant. We tried several different dishes and all have been delicious and amazing, hence the reason we return, and wait up to 45 minutes for a table! I like their decor. It is so tasteful and warm. Staff have been extremely helpful and courteous. If you wish to enjoy a great meal, experience great service and delightful atmosphere come to Mazra, you'll be happy you did. A gem in San Bruno.

When is the RWC location opening?

As of a couple days ago, they had a sign at the San Bruno location saying "2024." But since they previously said December of this year, I would guess January/February 2024 is likely?

Tabbouleh is indicated "GF" on their menu, but isn't Tabbouleh traditionally made with cracked wheat aka Bulgur? Does anyone know if they actually use a gluten free sub (ex. Millet or quinoa)?

Hi, I suggest contacting the restaurant directly to ensure you get the answer directly from them. Emphasize that you are on a gluten free diet. Enjoy!

    Yes there is indoor dining!

    Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, you can order a salad with choice of meat/fish/chicken, and they have lots of veggie options too. Try it :)

Do you have any halal options?

    It's actually all halal :)

    Do you take reservations?

No they do not. However the wait time is never that bad

Regarding the family packs, are they enough for five ppl? Is the deluxe one bigger? Also, are food in general spicy?

Regarding the family pack it all depends how you eat and if they are all adults. For sure 4 adults will be satisfied. It's a little bigger. Not spicy and amazing food :)

So here it is coming from Sunday night working up a small appetite for supper- I definitely had to…read morethink about where to go and so I thought about it -"Let's try something different, but not too far off" and so I landed at a restaurant I always wanted to try after passing by many times - the Smiling BBQ at El Camino Real - and it should have a specific caption lol, "Beifang/Northern Chinese BBQ." So I went in around 8pm not to bad - a very cozy down to earth feeling, restaurant was clean and also had that Northern Chinese vibe. The restaurant was family owned so the manager basically just spoke Putonghua/Mandarin - talkabout like lowkey down to earth (it's as if you gotta be really into the Chinese vibe to get the experience at this joint ). Restaurant was super clean actually for a Chinese place, "chuu bian juo"-or what he said was "have a seat anywhere," (I should've asked do they have maotai and cigarettes lmao like in Chinese fashion-cigarettes and alcohol accompany meals --what a tradition). So I took a little time and decided ultimately go with mainly what the place was for - BBQ. NOW THE FOOD- I'd say that is a definite 4.5 solid for me - VERY GOOD AND SUPER AUTHENTIC - solid Northern Chinese skewers - I recommend the lamb skewer (yang ro), beef skewer (nuur ro), chicken wing (jichi), squid skewer (wuzei) and of course traditional homestyle chives-stuffed pancake (jiou chai he ji). I wasn't sure as this was my first time I wasn't sure how big the portions are so I also ordered what is a "guozi" or fried egg pancake roll just-in-case. To my surprise everything was actually super well grilled - smokey - flavorful . The beef was cooked well and the skewers has a good balance of fat-to-lean meat content, for $5 pricepoint for 2x skewers, not a bad deal at all. The lamb was also super flavorful, not gamey (which is plus) and was juicy not dry. All good and the chicken wings skewer of 2x wings was also grilled semi-crispy with some seasoned spices (love the flavor and aroma). The squid was also marinated well in a sweet glaze before and was not overly cooked so it had texture/not too dry. Now onto the chives pancake and gouzi/fried egg pancake roll. Both were homemade and they were decent. Chives stuffed pancake had a decent texture and for 2x pcs not bad. The guozi was stuffed with some sausages/hotdog and pretty decent for a side dish-sweet sauce was good with the bbq. NOW THE AMBIANCE-ultimately a 4/5 because it was nice, it was clean, but the way they served the food was really lowkey as the plate was nonexistent they simply give you a tray at each table. Sorta interesting. But the utensils and everything was clean so thats good. THE SERVICE - now this is anywhere around 4/5 I would say the owner. Was nice and friendly but really - you might wanna communicate in Putonghua/Mandarin like I did - I mean you could use English as there electronic smart phone menu is in English and Chinese - but to talk to them effectively - I'm glad my Chinese linguistics sorta came in handy. Ultimately very down to earth people - when I asked for water and napkins they were very helpful and accommodating. Ultimately - the is a good place. Definitely worth to visit time and again.

This place opens at 4:30, so if you want an early dinner, this is the spot. There's plenty of street parking outside, so parking was easy. I love that they have so many different banchan options. The two of us decided to go with the premium grade for $55, which gives you more good-quality beef than the classic option for $45. Personally, I was not impressed with the premium meat this time. None of the beef was particularly good quality. Even the American Wagyu wasn't as tender as it should have been. The only thing I liked from the premium menu was their raw crab. It tasted just like the one I had in Korea. The servers were attentive and checked on us often, which was nice. The place also gets very smoky because they use charcoal, so be prepared to leave smelling like BBQ. Next time I come, I wouldn't order the premium menu. For $55, I'd rather go to another Korean restaurant and order à la carte dishes with better-quality beef. Our bill, including tip, was $150 for two people. Since we're small eaters, I feel like we could have gotten better-quality meat somewhere else for $150. That said, if you're a bigger eater and haven't tried this place yet, I'd definitely give it a try because not many Korean BBQ places use charcoal for grilling.

"Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican near SFO airport"…read more Came here for dinner at 6pm on a Monday night, based on good Yelp reviews. The place is unassuming-- has a thin stretch of outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. Not super bright in lighting, and a TV inside was showing a baseball game. Seemed like a lot of the business was takeout, as people would come, hover, get food, and leave. I was GOING to order the fish tacos or a fish quesadilla, but I was swayed by the picture of a breaded fish plate special. My son got the carne asada quesadilla, and others at the table got a veggie burrito and a chicken bowl. Food came out pretty quick-- maybe around or just over 10 minutes (the fish plate and veggie burrito came out slightly after the other two). I was very impressed that the fish plate looked even BETTER than the photo (see photos of both). The fish was HUGE. There was a generous helping of guacamole, lots of fresh avocado slides, some onion and cabbage, etc. There was a nice bed of lettuce on the side with sour cream over it, and the rice & beans (covered with a thin layer of cheese) on another side. The fish plate was just delicious. The batter wasn't overpowering or too heavy, and the fish was excellent inside (and very flat). I really liked the sauce in a little cup on the fish, or having it with avocado or guacamole, or even straight. The rice and beans were yummy too. Such a great dish, and it was under $20 before tax and tip. My dining companions all liked their food, though my son said the carne asada meat was "just good" (he had a bite of the chicken and said that was better). The person at the register was friendly. And as mentioned, the prices were very reasonable. I'd happily eat here again if in the area. Great portion size, great quality, good value, etc. Enjoy!

The good: the burrito was tasty. The service was good…read more The bad: I ordered the California burrito, which is supposed to come with french fries. The burrito had potatoes, but they weren't french fries. They were boiled potato strips. Kind of somewhat annoying when that's what I was looking forward to. Also, I ordered a super burrito, but it was more like a taco. Burritos here are really small so if you're hungry, forget about it.

I don't know what it's called. But come on! It's so good! Crispy and creamy due to the condense milk and some sugar grains.

Cute but pricey izakaya (it is owned by non-Japanese Asians!) They have a parking lot so don't park…read moreon the street like I did (alternatively, you could take Caltrain as they are right across the street from Broadway station!) The private booths are intimate, the lighting is dimmed, music is bopping (not to age myself, but it was bops from my high school years) Fitting, as I was getting dinner with my best HS friend! I love how you take off your shoes to get in the booths! So cute and fun. There were some families there and the kids were given coloring pages. Coming from SF, this is how you know you're in the suburbs. The skewers were delicious. A group of 4, we ordered 4 of each. We tried steak, chicken, takoyaki, fries (which were pretty much takoyaki fries), bacon-wrapped mochi, bacon enoki mushroom, unagi, fried chicken skin, Uzura Tamago (Quail Eggs), and more! Everything was good and flavorful. However, it ended up being over ~$70/person, so not cheap. I will say service was lacking. They didn't bring us the bill for over 20 minutes. Relatedly (in that it's negative), whoo boy was my stomach upset after! It was delicious, but at the cost of being greasy.

A great, reliable spot if you're looking for a fun yakitori and Japanese tapas-style dinner…read moreexperience, especially one that closes decently late no matter the day. We came to Mokutanya for a casual night out. It was pretty late for a sushi spot to be open on a Sunday night (around 8:30 pm), and overall, it hit the spot. The menu has a lot of variety, and it's definitely a good place to share dishes with friends or a group. FOOD: 8/10 The skewers were the highlight for me and, I believe, one of their specialties. They were well-seasoned, nicely grilled, and served hot off the grill. I also enjoyed trying a variety of small plates, which made the meal feel fun and interactive. Some dishes were better than others, but overall it was a solid experience with good flavor and variety. We ordered their Raw Oysters, and it was decent. It definitely was not the freshest we've ever tried, but it was still good, thankfully. SERVICE: 8/10 Service was standard, but the staff was chill and easygoing. AMBIANCE: 8/10 The restaurant has a warm, lively, and slightly upscale-casual feel, great for groups or a casual night out. You can experience zashiki seating, where you take off your shoes before entering the dining area and sit down at low tables. The lighting was pretty dark, lol. Overall, it's a solid late-night option if you're in the mood for skewers, small plates, and a relaxed group dining experience.
