Very nice place with excellent food! I came here on a Sunday evening for a table for two and waited about 15 min to be seated. It was my first time here and I was surprised by how filling the meals were and how quick the service was. I appreciate the self-serve water/tea and ordering system, allowing you to place your order on your phone or at the outside window whenever you are ready. I got the dip trio with cucumber and yogurt, tzatziki and baba ghanoush. I wasn't the biggest fan of the baba ghanoush but I loved the tzatziki. It came with three large pita breads. The chicken shawarma plate was also packed with flavor. With so much pita in me already I could only eat half and was able to take home leftovers. My partner had the steak street wrap and the meat was very tender and flavorful. I would order both again but would love to try other menu items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance for a nice dinner and amazing food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is the only difficulty, but we were able to find a spot in the residential area a block away.

A friend recommended this place after a good experience at their Redwood City location, so we decided to try this one on a Wednesday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio has plenty of shaded tables, making it a comfortable spot to dine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordering is done through a QR code, and food is brought to the table. They also offer self-service cold water and hot tea stations inside and outside, which is a nice touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Double Kebab Plate with filet mignon and lamb kebab (filet mignon add $2), along with French fries and garlic potatoes. We also tried the Falafel Mezza Sampler, which came with six falafel, six dips (hummus, tzatziki, baba ghanoush, roasted beet, muhammara, and cucumber yogurt), and three pita breads. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Both the filet mignon and lamb kebab were dry and overcooked, and the portion of meat was quite small for the price. The rice was overly soft and lacked texture, as if it had absorbed too much water or been sitting for a while. We only took a small bite before leaving the rest untouched. The falafel was also overcooked and dry, and the size was small compared with another place. The highlight of the meal was the dips, especially the muhammara and cucumber yogurt, which were flavorful, while the rest were just okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is clean, spacious, and pleasant, but the food did not live up to expectations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really wanted to like it, but the quality was inconsistent and underwhelming for the price. Overall: Great ambiance and convenient ordering system, but the food was dry, overcooked, and not worth the price.

I'm so glad this place is open again! It had been a couple of years since my last visit and I'm happy to say that the food quality and service are still just as exceptional as I remembered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was busy, which is to be expected. Mazra is incredibly popular and for good reason.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My family of 4 waited about 30-ish minutes to be seated at around 6:30pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating but I also noticed a steady stream of takeout orders, which is probably the way to go since the restaurant can get pretty lively and loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My family shared the BBQ deluxe kebab pack and the dip trio appetizer, which were more than enough food for us with leftovers to take home! Everything was fantastic. Meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and nicely seasoned. Lamb was the standout! Every dip in the trio was delicious, especially the roasted beet. The garlic potatoes side were just as addictive as ever and remain one of my favorite sides here. If I have to note one thing, it's that the parking lot is tiny so you'll probably have a better shot parking in the street/neighborhood. Otherwise, everything from the food to the service was amazing and I'll happily keep coming back to my all-time favorite Mediterranean restaurant.

Amazing service The people guiding you t your table is so accommodating I first sat in the outside but I decided I would like to dine indoors and they helped me switch! I had the steak shawarma wrap lavash wrap it was delicious! I think they have hummus in it too? With garlic sauce and hot sauce I added fries which was a fantastic add I ordered a mint lemonade to go since everyone was raving about it I don't think it's for me, a bit too sweet and concentrated Next time I might do raspberry lemonade to try and have a cup of water ext to me The spice tea they have for self serve is good! I loved it [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is really nice laid back but more date like setting with the fairy lights outside and it's kind of like you're on a vineyard dining background outside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been meaning to come to this place for the last 6 months or so but for one reason or another I was never able to make it until now and wow- it was 100 percent worth the wait. When you keep hearing buzz about a place and everyone you ask who's been to that place has nothing but good things to say, naturally your expectations are going to be very high, and even with high expectations Mazra still impressed me. The amount of food you get is more than generous, they have a self-serve water and tea station, the service is great, [[HIGHLIGHT]]ambiance is beautiful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and the most important thing of course: the food was excellent. Truly a Bay Area diamond. One of the best restaurants I've been to

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the format of the restaurant since it reminds me of Nandos. Kinda fancy but not really.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The kebabs were fresh and juicy. The dibs were tasty. Only negative comment is that they should really sell a smaller portion for the cauliflower.

My family has been here 2x since after the big renovation. We love the food we ordered, great service, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a great place near the SFO airport. We will be back again. I did not take pictures of meats we ordered!

Mazra absolutely knocked our socks off! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful decor and welcoming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The scan-to-order menu from your phone was incredibly easy and convenient, and the service was impressively fast. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The portion sizes were huge and definitely memorable; our entire group ended up taking home to-go boxes. This was one of those meals where you're already planning your next visit before you leave. I can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!

We had been wanting to come here for the longest time but couldn't get down to San Bruno. Once we finally did, we realized we should have made the journey so much earlier. The service throughout the meal was great and everyone just made you feel welcome. The decor and ambiance also make it feel like you're on vacation, with small touches that transport you. Plus the smells of the delicious food don't hurt either. We started with the Halloumi Cheese Roll which was a nice switch-up on texture. It could have used a bit more flavor but the crunch mixed with the cheese was a very good start. We also had the Tzatziki, the hummus, the tabbouleh salad, house pickles and the garlic potatoes as our various sides all which was very good. Everything packs a punch of flavor and goes super well with the warm soft pita. Also a super star for me personally was the mushroom skweres. Id never had that before but was a huge fan. Finally the mint lemonade is also SO FREAKIN GOOD. 100% can't wait to go back!!

    Vivian L.

My friend ordered us takeout and I got the chicken shwarma wrap and added the hummus dip! It was really good! I just wished they added more of the pickle inside. It also came with some spicy sauce and white sauce. And I used all of the sauces include the hummus. If you like more flavor, I would suggest to order an extra drip on the side. It was very filling. I'm giving a 4 star instead of a 5 because it was very oily. The oil dripped through the box and onto the counter. If you're eating this on your lap, the oil may drip through onto you as well. Other than that, I would definitely eat here again!

First time. Help yourself to the to-go items and serve yourself for plates, napkins and silverware. Good variety on the menu. Flavorful, hearty portions. Casual setting. Definite must visit. time. Casual vibe. Help me yourself to the dishes

The shawarma fries are loaded with a lot of toppings, and extremely worth it for $16. The half rotisserie chicken could have been juicier, but still tasty regardless. They give generous portion of each food item

This spot lives up to the hype. The plates are beautiful and delicious. The hummus, tzatziki, and toum dips are super flavorful. The pita bread is piping hot and fresh. The shawarma loaded fries are so loaded with meat, sauce, and condiments. Must try-shawarma chicken, kofta kabobs, roast potatoes, and hummus.

When is the RWC location opening?

As of a couple days ago, they had a sign at the San Bruno location saying "2024." But since they previously said December of this year, I would guess January/February 2024 is likely?

Tabbouleh is indicated "GF" on their menu, but isn't Tabbouleh traditionally made with cracked wheat aka Bulgur? Does anyone know if they actually use a gluten free sub (ex. Millet or quinoa)?

Hi, I suggest contacting the restaurant directly to ensure you get the answer directly from them. Emphasize that you are on a gluten free diet. Enjoy!

Does this place accept Apple Pay?

    Yes!

Has the temporary closure started yet? We were hoping to go on Sunday (1/15).

If you mean Saturday 1/14/2023, I believe their open. However, I highly suggest calling them directly to confirm. Enjoy!

    I hope not

It comes in one tray with the chicken on top of the rice!

yes! The menu clearly identifies which items are GF. Many of the meat entrees and sides are

    Yes there is indoor dining!

    Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, you can order a salad with choice of meat/fish/chicken, and they have lots of veggie options too. Try it :)

Do you have any halal options?

    It's actually all halal :)

    Do you take reservations?

No they do not. However the wait time is never that bad

Regarding the family packs, are they enough for five ppl? Is the deluxe one bigger? Also, are food in general spicy?

Regarding the family pack it all depends how you eat and if they are all adults. For sure 4 adults will be satisfied. It's a little bigger. Not spicy and amazing food :)

Are pets allowed on the outside patio?

    Absolutely! We love fur baby’s.

    Dining available for Easter?

This is what real Chinese BBQ skewers looks like. The kind of place that doesn't need to impress you with aesthetics because the food already knows what it's doing. Family-owned, family-run. The staff is the family. And you feel it immediately, like you've stepped into a small neighborhood restaurant somewhere between Hong Kong and mainland China. There's a warmth here that can't be manufactured. The menu is simple, but every bite takes you back. From the beer selection to the grilled oysters to the BBQ itself... it's all honest, soulful, and unapologetically authentic. The kind of food that reminds you why street-side spots and humble kitchens often outshine overpriced "modern" versions trying too hard to be something they're not. And let's talk value. For the price? You absolutely cannot beat this place. Other spots charge more, dress it up, and somehow deliver less. Here, the quality is front and center... smoky, savory, deeply satisfying. What really blows my mind is how hidden this place still is. A quiet gem tucked away, flying under the radar, waiting for people who actually care about flavor over frills. This isn't a restaurant chasing trends. It's a place preserving something real. And honestly? That's rare.

The Kofte plate was also pretty good, but again a little bland for me compared to the Kofte at Mazra or a koobideh at one of favorite Persian spots. "Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican near SFO airport"…read more Came here for dinner at 6pm on a Monday night, based on good Yelp reviews. The place is unassuming-- has a thin stretch of outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. Not super bright in lighting, and a TV inside was showing a baseball game. Seemed like a lot of the business was takeout, as people would come, hover, get food, and leave. I was GOING to order the fish tacos or a fish quesadilla, but I was swayed by the picture of a breaded fish plate special. My son got the carne asada quesadilla, and others at the table got a veggie burrito and a chicken bowl. Food came out pretty quick-- maybe around or just over 10 minutes (the fish plate and veggie burrito came out slightly after the other two). I was very impressed that the fish plate looked even BETTER than the photo (see photos of both). The fish was HUGE. There was a generous helping of guacamole, lots of fresh avocado slides, some onion and cabbage, etc. There was a nice bed of lettuce on the side with sour cream over it, and the rice & beans (covered with a thin layer of cheese) on another side. The fish plate was just delicious. The batter wasn't overpowering or too heavy, and the fish was excellent inside (and very flat). I really liked the sauce in a little cup on the fish, or having it with avocado or guacamole, or even straight. The rice and beans were yummy too. Such a great dish, and it was under $20 before tax and tip. My dining companions all liked their food, though my son said the carne asada meat was "just good" (he had a bite of the chicken and said that was better). The person at the register was friendly. And as mentioned, the prices were very reasonable. I'd happily eat here again if in the area. Great portion size, great quality, good value, etc. Enjoy!

We came to Mokutanya for a casual night out. It was pretty late for a sushi spot to be open on a Sunday night (around 8:30 pm), and overall, it hit the spot. The menu has a lot of variety, and it's definitely a good place to share dishes with friends or a group. FOOD: 8/10 The skewers were the highlight for me and, I believe, one of their specialties. They were well-seasoned, nicely grilled, and served hot off the grill. I also enjoyed trying a variety of small plates, which made the meal feel fun and interactive. Some dishes were better than others, but overall it was a solid experience with good flavor and variety. We ordered their Raw Oysters, and it was decent. It definitely was not the freshest we've ever tried, but it was still good, thankfully. SERVICE: 8/10 Service was standard, but the staff was chill and easygoing. AMBIANCE: 8/10 The restaurant has a warm, lively, and slightly upscale-casual feel, great for groups or a casual night out. You can experience zashiki seating, where you take off your shoes before entering the dining area and sit down at low tables. The lighting was pretty dark, lol. Overall, it's a solid late-night option if you're in the mood for skewers, small plates, and a relaxed group dining experience.
