He quickly responded, requested photos and info, and provided a competitive quote. On the day of the project, he worked most of the day in the Texas heat and meticulously ran external conduit to our back yard, installed a disconnect box, and ran power to the swim spa. At 4:50 they called and said they couldn't come to the house , that they had "a bunch of people quit". However, they said they couldn't come tomorrow. It is Saturday, and they called at 8:32 and said, we can't come today we want to reschedule you for another day. I guess 8:30 is better than 4:30 after waiting an entire day, the day before. Two canceled appointments because of staffing issues and incompetent dispatch.

I had to hire my own electrician for the job, so I hired Bryant Electric to run power from the box to the water heater, about 4 feet away. That cost $800. When the inspector came, they told me the electrician needed to pull permits for connecting to the box and that the city charges around $40, so shouldn't be too bad. So I went back to Bryant to pull permits and they wanted $800 to do it. I laughed and hung up. I called other electricians and one told me they charge $100 to pull permits but they wouldn't complete the job for another electrician.
