So these scam artists came out and told us we needed 2.5 lbs of freon and that they couldn't tell if we had a leak or not. 4 days later our air went out again so we called another place A.R.T in copperas cove that was able to not only diagnose and find the leak but also fix it then and there. We tried contacting Arties for them to rectify the situation and their office manager was very rude and unprofessional. Id recommend buying more fans if your only option is Arties. My home had an issue with the A/C and we had them come out. They checked they half assed checked inside and outside unit. They did not do a leak check but saw we were low on refrigerant. They charged us $259.06 for 2.5 lbs of refrigerant and the service call. Three days later our home was hot again. We called a different company because we had no faith Arties would find the issue. That company within 10 mins found the leak in our A/C and gave us a quote to replace the coils and add 7lbs of refrigerant. So we had to pay twice for something Arties could have done if they weren't lazy and irresponsible. DO NOT go to them. Try another small business who saved us thousands when they fixed our AC for $606. 39 which included the 7lbs of refrigerant, soldering our cut closed and checked both inside and outside unit thoroughly, A.R.T Heating & Air Conditioning out of Copperas Cove +1 254-630-2586. I promise you will not be disappointed with their knowledge, experience on the job, and professionalism! And when I called inquiring if I could receive some sort of compensation for their work I was greeted by an argumentative person, who lacked empathy for my situation. Complete shit money hungry technicians. I called about my unit not running outside. I noted "The motor is bad. Thermostat is running in the house and the fan on the unit is still. i thought it was the capacitor first, but when I move the fan with a screwdriver it resists hard both on and off therefore the bearings are bad and need a whole new motor". They completely ignored me, changed the capacitor and left within 10 minutes. The unit still did NOT RUN. Surprise surprise, today they come back and change the motor on their "mistake". My wife is pregnant and I have a 1 year old son they made SUFFER in this excruciating heat for a few bucks instead of doing their fucking job and just changing the damn motor! On Jan6, 2023 I asked Artie Heating & Air to come out as my thermostats where not setting Emergency Heat correctly and wanted them swapped out or fixed. They said they need to be swapped out, and I had some old ones, and they replaced one with mine, but I required a new one. They offered an Emerson non-programmable low-end thermostat that would work with my heat pump for $120. I knew this was high but wanted to get this done and over with so authorized installation. When I came to pay the bill, they said Ooops, this thermostat is really $185 and raised the price of service. I guess I felt pressured since it was installed and working so I paid the bill, only to find the exact model was $43 on Amazon. They offered stories that their thermostats a are unique and 1 digit different in part/serial or model number so that's why they are so expensive. This is a low-end, no feature thermostat. I believe this was like a bait and switch. I believe I was pressured after being left without an option and taken advantage of due to my age and retirement status. This seems deceptive and inappropriate business practices to charge almost 5x the cost, but also misrepresent the cost then change it (raise it) after install. Installed the air conditioning system on my house some time ago. All was well until the heater coil failed. When AHS came out to fix it they reported that the hookup to the coil was backwards making it impossible to get to the access door to replace the heating coil. Just so happened that AHS called Artie's to fix the heating element. When I told him of the issue they refused to correct the error they had created. Ended up paying near $200 to fix a problem they created by incorrectly installing the unit. Said he couldn't find the paperwork that he had done it. I personally saw the guys put it in. This happened a while back so perhaps they have worked on their ethics. read more

What a rip off. I thought cuz they were a family business they would be a good business and be good --- far from it. I had them replace duct work that was never sealed completely only the ones that were right infront of you were seed nothing else had crap being pulled out of attic and into the house i called them multiple times and i got blew off so after a couple of years of trying to work with them i had to have someone else come rip it all out and start over. Thank goodness now i can breath and i aint passing out anymore. Im a gulf war vet and several issues from allergies which cause breathing issues. Anyway i tried disputing it with wells fargo the company that pays them and i pay well fargo they just keep lieing to them saying they was willing to come out and fix which is a total lie due to every time i called and even talked to artie himself i got you dont know what you talking about blah blah blah and have a nice day. In September, 2012, Artie's Heating & AC was contracted to do a repair on my home's AC system, by American Home Shield. My system was running constantly, and not cooling properly. Previously, I had a new furnace installed and my AC system serviced by Ellis Air Systems, Inc. Well... something wasn't right, and I filed a claim with American Home Shield, and they sent Artie's Heating & Air to repair my AC system. The way AHS works, you don't have a choice in contactors that do repairs to covered systems in your home, but I honestly didn't care. I just wanted it fixed. Well... fix it they did. Arties arrives when they said they would, and was done in a matter of just over an hour. They replaced the outside AC fan motor that was overheating (most likely due to the constant running over a period of a couple weeks), and they serviced my AC system with refrigerant. There were no leaks found, and one can only assume that the AC was not properly serviced by the previous contractor, or something was left loose..or whatever. What I DO know is, there hasn't been an issue with either my heat or air since Artie's worked on it. As recently as December...yes December, due to abnormally warm temps... I ran my AC and it cooled just fine. Just lie the day Artie's worked on it. The next time something breaks in my Heating or AC systems, I will call AHS as usual, and I SURE HOPE Artie's is who comes to do the repairs. For those of you who CAN choose? It's a no brainer. You want good, dependable work, done in a reasonable amount of time, and a contractor that shows up when they SAY they will? Call Artie's. That is all. Carry On. read more
