After speaking with Carlo and going over the program we joined and were excited to start. Carlo even made an additional night slot due to my work hours, not a lot of gyms had an after 6pm night slot so the 6:30pm class was created and we have been going ever since. A month or two into the program I had a prior knee issue that progressively began to get worse. In the mean time working with Dr's to find the best course of action I discussed this with Carlo as well as Tom and Janice to best fit every training session to the needs of my condition but still get the maximum workout possible and still hit my own personal fitness goals. Almost 9 months later modifying every workout and everyone of these trainers working with me every class I went in for a full knee replacement in July, summer 2022. 8 weeks later I am back in the gym modified again for now, until I am back to 100% but I can't thank each and everyone of them from the bottom of my heart because if it was not for them supporting me and tailoring my workouts once again after surgery so that I can still get the most out of it even with a knee not functioning at 100% prior and now after my replacement I would not be in the condition I am to return 8 weeks later. I can't speak enough about The Rock, CrossFit. The workouts are amazing and push your limits which is what everyone needs to truly see how far you can go and that's just in life as well. It's a family atmosphere where everyone is supporting everyone through the workouts and "No one gets left behind". My boyfriend and I looked at a lot of gym's and we can't recommend this gym enough if you are looking for something outside of your comfort zone and challenging as well as other classes that offer that nice balance. I would recommend trying a class you won't be disappointed maybe out of breath, lol. I have been struggling with weight loss for 4 years. I have never felt this good in years and for the first time have definition in my arms and legs that I have not seen in over 20 years. You owe it to yourself to be the best you. I have worked out my entire life and have belonged to gyms from the local YMCA, Gold's Gym, Jack La Lane, NYSC etc etc. It is at The Rock that I am attaining my fitness goals. Carlo, Larry and Tom have created not just a gym, but a community that is non-judgmental , helpful and supportive. The new facility is excellent, the members are awesome and the coaches will get you to where you need to be. you can stay fat and continue with your Zumba on a budget at your local gym. Or you can come to the Rock and get your money's worth and achieve your fitness goals. The Rock is money well spent.

I loved it here. It was my happy place…read more Unfortunately another member asked me to fix her bra strap. Then "titty bumped" me. Then had the audacity to ask me for a massage. Sigh. I told her I felt extremely uncomfortable and that her request was highly inappropriate. The passive aggressive behavior that followed was enough to escalate to the management team. Which was useless. Every one that knows me, knows I just wanted to workout ‍ They chose the path of least resistance and decided to double down and make me want to quit and leave the gym. A trainer posted videos of me without my permission. I escalated my updated complaint to corporate of sexual harassment, harassment, threats and bullying. On April 27th Energy Fitness verbally terminated my membership. When I asked about class pass or another member inviting me, they said I was banned on June 3, 2026. This was retaliation for my complaint, a violation of my rights, discrimination and against the NYS human rights law. These aren't just "mean girls" management. These are a group of miserable women who are opening you up to a lawsuit. I wonder how many complaints there are against these "mean girls"?

I knew I had to commit and do this for myself, after not having a consistent workout routine for years. It was really easy to bounce back once I started coming here. I feel like a new person since joining this little community at Fit in 50! The Coaches are SO supportive and encouraging throughout every single class. They're also experts in their craft! I love the variety here, so every class always feels entirely new - focusing on different muscle groups each day, whether it be in a boot camp class or kickboxing. Sportime Lynbrook is an okay place. Do not send your kid here if they play basketball. They must get another court because no way I have to pay well over $200 a month to barely be able to go basketball court if your son or daughter plays basketball I would not recommend sportime until they get another court. It's not fair that people youse the basketball court for everything else besides basketball.

I also had my son's birthday party here last year and the staff was amazing with assisting me set up for his birthday, and entertaining them the whole time and it's hands down the best gym I've joined in the area. My son is also in multi sport with Joe Marve and he loves it. Joe is the best with kids he definitely can keep the group of kids entertained and listening which is hard as is in my opinion for 5 year olds. The facility is spacious, super clean, and well-maintained with equipment for cardio, weights, and everything in between. They have an amazing variety of group classes (yoga, cycling, kickboxing, barre!), a basketball court, and 1 on 1 personal training. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They know members by name and always go out of their way to help. The Come Together Yoga studio is a huge bonus, and the overall vibe is motivating without being intimidating. The juice bar is perfect pre and post workout as well. Plenty of parking too, which is a big plus. If you're looking for a full service gym that feels like a community, Sportset is it. All body types all fitness levels. The energy was amazing. The support and encouragement I receive there is wonderful. I can't say enough about how happy I am to be part of this "family" .
