Absolutely worse service and communication. Avoid at all costs. I was drawn in by the slightly lower quote compared with other transporters. $995 for transportation from Arizona to Oregon. It definitely was not worth the headache. I had a specific timeline that Rick stated would not be a problem at all. I was leaving town a specific day and couldn't have pick up after that date. I tried for days before my departure date to call in for assistance. I kept encountering different people who said they would check on it and call me back. Never got a call back. Sent emails, no response. I ended up coordinating directly with the driver who just happened to be able to accommodate my schedule even though AMPM had given them a different and incorrect delivery timeline. Then come the issues with billing. They quoted me 995 and on the quote sheet and were to bill 195 as a deposit and 800 on delivery. When my car was delivered, I was asked by the driver for 850 instead of 800. I find out that this was because they billed 145 as my initial deposit instead of 195 after checking my CC statement. This wouldn't be an issue except I had already purchased a money order for 800. I had an additional 50 that I paid the driver in cash. Lucky I did otherwise the driver (who does not work for AMPM and must collect what is written on their form) would not have released by car. Fast forward 2.5 months later and I find a CC charge of 50 from AMPM. Unauthorized and without any communication. These people are deceitful crooks. Caution if you book with them and keep good documentation and evidence of your communication. Will never book with them again. read more

Call and you're immediately put on hold. Shipping dates are discussed only for their contract to say they don't guarantee any shipping dates / times / etc. The disingenuous person I spoke to (Barri) told me in order to send a text quote he had to get off the phone and reboot his computer. Never received the text. Never received the quote. Called back the next day just to repeat the process: Put on hold, rebooted computer, disconnect to send text message. Now I'm late for scheduling a vehicle to be shipped. Why the lies? This was before the contract so i can only image what happens once a customer actually signs the paperwork. I'm sure there are many professional transportation companies out there so keep searching. To top this off, Barri retaliated for my negative experience and started leaving fake reviews for my business as you'll see in the screenshots below. Wow, what an awful experience! And the lack of accountability is ridiculous. We were repeatedly told that we could make the final payment in cash, money order, or cashier's check. We were NEVER told any other name/company to write the money order out to which caused a ton of confusion when the car was being delivered. The driver wouldn't accept the payment of the money order since we made it out to AMPM. When I called Barri to understand why we were never told who to make the final payment out to he was completely condescending and said I needed to let him know if I was going to get a money order. As you can see from the email confirmation, that wasn't communicated and it clearly gives money order as a payment option. An apology for the miscommunication would have gone a long way. So, AMPM Auto is a BROKER, they are not an actual car hauler. What this means for you is that the bulk of these reviews are likely on the service received from their subcontractor, whomever that is. I requested a quote to ship 2 cars cross-country in a move that I was finalizing from Arizona to DC. The price that I was quoted was fine, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either and their reviews were good. I was quoted a shipping time frame of 5 days (cars were to be picked up between the 7th and the 12th) and a delivery range of 5-7 days. I repeatedly noted that I would NOT be in DC until the 14th at 7:15AM and I had informed them that my landlord in DC might be able to sign off on the vehicles if I wasn't there, but I needed to know in advance and I preferred to be there myself. When the transporter tried to come for my vehicles on the 7th, I moved the pickup to the weekend. They told me Saturday or Sunday. Ok, I called THREE TIMES to get an updated time range because, logistics (I have an infant, a toddler, 2 large dogs, and this matters) and was ignored and told by Barri that he would call me back. Surprise, surprise, he never did. I got a call from my LANDLORD stating that the driver called her talking about he would be there between 12-4. I AGAIN called AMPM and got NO return phone call. Then, the driver starts calling me (finally) Saturday morning at 9:00 talking about he wants to pick up the cars at 11:00 a.m. Okayyyy. I should've just told him to be on his way, but at this point AMPM had already charged me for the deposit, so I figured if I wasn't there, they could just charge my card. The driver was rude, barely spoke English, and kept asking who would pay him (THIS MATTERS BECAUSE I did NOT know and was NEVER told that the driver was not an employee of AMPM). I wasn't there. I asked Barri AND the driver several times to confirm that my card would be charged if I was not there. They acted like it was fine, then demanded cash FROM MY NEW LANDLORD WHO HAS NEVER MET ME IN PERSON. I was then tasked with scrambling to reach relatives and friends and send them to pick up my funds. After reaching an aunt who wasn't working and was willing, I told them she could be there in 30 minutes. THE DRIVER LOADED MY CARS AND LEFT. MIND YOU: I was quoted 5-7 days for delivery, this was less than 40 hours after my cars were picked up. Now, my cars are God-Knows-Where. Barri has CONSISTENTLY refused to answer my calls and, when I was able to trick another employee into putting him on the phone, he was dismissive and unhelpful. My AMAZING experience with ampm auto transport has compelled me to write a review on Yelp, my first one since joining in 2009. A good friend and I have been planning an epic vacation to California for a long time. We don't have the opportunity to vacation very often (much less together) and really wanted to visit as many places as possible within the time we had. Being from the east coast, we both knew it would be a while before we returned to the area. Unfortunately, traveling from Los Angeles to Yosemite National Park and several other spread out destinations on our timetable created a logistical nightmare without a car. The best option was to bring my own car to Los Angeles. Not wanting to waste the extra time or energy it would take to drive my own car from NY to LA, I looked into getting it shipped by AM PM auto transport and found their staff to be friendly and informative on the phone. My friend and I planned to fly to LA on May 13th so I asked them to schedule the delivery of my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek by the same date. Not only were they were able to get my car shipped to LA earlier, by May 11th, they stored it in their yard with no fees until I arrived in-state to pick it up. I was pleased to see the car was still in excellent shape since I choose to ship the car in an open carrier to save money, not an enclosed one. Having my own car to drive around California made my vacation all the more special and stress-free. I read all the reviews regarding the company and saw some crappy ones but mostly sounded like people didn't like time lines, they were late or early, etc. but decided to go with them to transport 3 vehicles (both my sisters vehicles and mine) across the country. I gave them a large window of when they could be picked up and was told on Monday it would not be before Wednesday and I would hear from them them then to give me a better time estimate. They sent me an email Wednesday morning at 7 am and said a driver was on his way and nothing else, did not call or give me a heads up other than an email that I saw 3 hours later. When my sister called them to find out more details and question why neither of us were called she was yelled at and treated extremely poorly. This was the first time I've ever used a car transport company and was really nervous as I've heard horror stories from friends and reviews. DO NOT go with companies that don't 100% promise to stick to the price quote they initially give you. My rep assured me that the price would not go up and IT DID!!! It wasn't the lowest quote among the ones I received from a few other car transport companies in Los Angeles, but since they guaranteed the final price, I decided to go with them. I worked mostly with John, he was extremely professional and didn't push or pressure me at all like a lot of the other companies. He scheduled the shipping for September 12th and the delivery was supposed to happen on September 16th, but they had some type of issue with their truck going on the original route. The pickup happened on September 15th and I recent got my car and it's in perfect shape! It was really awesome, not only did they follow through on the final price, but the car was in perfect shape when I've read story after story about cars being damaged from similar companies. Poor customer service and communication. My car pick up was very delayed and pushed back 2 weeks later than inquired due to other circumstances on their side. What was more upsetting was that throughout the process they lacked communication. I had to call multiple times to get updates on when they were going to pick up my car. Only bad part: he gave me the wrong driver contact and sent the car earlier than I wanted it to arrive (I wasn't sure if I was going to be in town by that point.) I was quoted $850 and quickly signed and returned the contract without noticing the charge was $895. I should have paid more attention and didn't. Of course nothing is easy and along EVERY hiccup I was on the phone with Bruce who took care of it all, I was to glad he helped us and he was the lifeline. He made sure the client came first. I truly think that she gave the best service that can be found from any company. My story began when I spoke with the driver who was to deliver my car. He sounded fine, listened, and appeared to understand my needs. However, after this initial call, he did not return future calls. Fearfully I called the car transport company's main office and Laura answered. She was patient, listened to me, and quickly got answers to all my questions and an update from the driver. I have shipped several cars with this company (over 4 cars). Never had a problem until most recent car delivery. The driver was an individual that spoke broken English and was extremely rude and disrespectful with my vehicle. First off they damaged my vehicle front bumper really bad and wouldn't release my car unless I sighed the form to state no damage. He began to scream at me telling me if I don't sign he will not give me my car. He also kept revving the car liked it was his own vehicle despite me urging him to stop. Scott at AM PM as well as another lady told me they would only cover half damage as a courtesy only as a credit towards a future car transport then they call back and say their boss has changed their mind and can not honor any credit anymore! They went back on their word. I will never use them again since the first damage claim they left me with 1,500 worth of damage to my vehicle and I had to pay it on my own.. This company doesn't care about customer service. I will take my business to a company that will stand behind their word and that cares about customer service. I've used AMPM on three different occasions: in 2010 (Philly - LA), 2012 (LA - Philly), and right now in 2015 (LA - Seattle). The first time was great, no issues, with an employee (Vivian) who no longer works there. The second time was horrendous, due to AMPM, not the truck driver: Scott became unreachable (due to a family emergency) before my car was scheduled to move, and none of the other employees would help me, literally: they said they would call me back, and never did, and I was left hanging as to when my car would get picked up. It was stressful. I wrote a negative Yelp review at the time. In March, a full 8 months later, I get an email from the company: "Therefore, our new management team is seeking to resolve the issue you have previously had with your transportation company. Please advise us what we can do to ensure your satisfaction. We are hoping that we may do something to resolve this long overlooked issue and also revive our Yelp reputation." I thought this was so bizarre, as they didn't offer anything, I was supposed to say what I wanted. So I asked for $300. Needless to say, I never got an email back. I used them a third time for two reasons: they were willing to pick up the car on a Saturday, and two, they gave me $100 off the quoted price to remove my Yelp review from 2012, when I had a bad experience. The only reason I did this, was that I was free to write a review after my car shipment, and I was led to believe they would take extra care it would go smoothly. Apparently they also have a student discount that I would have qualified for, but they did not tell me when I made the booking, I only saw it on this Yelp page now. At first, they scheduled me for a Friday, but by Thursday, AMPM still hadn't given me a pickup time, and since I work, I was only available after 5pm. Laura sent me a testy email back, saying "We are making an exception and scheduling you without requesting a 24-48 hour window" and allowing a Saturday pick up, even though I was always scheduled for a Fri or Sat pick up, I don't know what exception she was talking about. Anyway, that email was the last I heard from her. Anyway, it did not go smoothly on either end, as they contracted my shipment to a horrible company: "Save on Transport" (OR). Both on the pickup and the drop off, the drivers/company would change the times multiple times a day, it was beyond ridiculous. In Seattle, I called the company on Tuesday, asking when the drop off time would be. She said that afternoon, the driver would call. He never did. The next day, I called: when will the drop off time be? At 1pm, she said. Then 5pm, then 8 pm, then noon the next day. I am still surprised my car is in one piece. AMPM willingly contracted my car to a company that has a F on the BBB, and I didn't even know the name of the company till he showed up to pick up the car. I had booked a car transport months in advance and I suppose it is common for John to act like a professional staff member and have the customer pretty much be the one to reach out in regards to the car pick up. And after reading some reviews, I suppose that it is VERY common for the driver to be unprofessional, disregard time and lack communication skills. People have blamed John and the driver however, it boils down to the leadership of the organization and that's YOU, business owner. I had to be the one to call your driver numerous times to only have him text me. We confirmed a 4pm pick up and he had us waiting for over 90 minutes. Around 7:00 he informs us that he minutes away and then almost immediately texts that he just go into a minor car accident. Sound familiar? I think so and I'm pretty sure this is a VERY common "story". I call to find out if the car is still going to be picked up. No answer. Text him. No answer. It's past 9pm and no answer. I then text Philip that we are canceling and he actually texts back "sorry". I had already emailed John previously about the poor service and in my last email I stated that we were canceling. It's a day after and no call from John or anyone. So customer, if you are considering their services because the quote is enticing, DON'T DO IT! Save yourself the trouble and time. I'd give no stars but Yelp require at least 1 star. The thing that ticks me off the most is a TOTAL disregard for people's time and being dishonest. Business owner, you need to do better. read more

The world of car transporters is complicated and finding the best car transport company is always confusing. You call at least five shipping companies to check rates and all salespeople give you a great price and then raise the price at the last minute. This is why I was very hesitant about shipping my vehicle based on my previous experience. This time I was bombarded with calls from about 10 carriers. I chose AM PM because they had a good rating with the BBB in conjunction with their transport review rating, and Scott gave a great price. However, I needed to check what was included in his quote. I needed an itemized list of all charges up front, before I signed on the dotted line, so there wouldn't be surprises when I got my car to my location in California. Scott sent me a quote and that was the beginning of an experience that I honestly thought would never happen. And then he called me back the next morning and asked if I could prepare the car for pickup that evening. I said yes, but it had to be after my work ended at 7pm. He promised to let the driver know and if the driver couldn't work with that schedule, he wouldn't call me back. He not only called me back, but emailed me all the driver's information so I was able to keep in touch with him. I was told the car would arrive in Berkeley in 5-6 days. Delivery was on time to the minute. It was true door-to-door delivery in small residential neighborhoods. Then I got an email from Scott asking if I had heard from the driver with the delivery date. Never had anyone from any of the auto moving companies I used before emailed to see if the car got there or not. He has amazing customer service skills and a comprehensive understanding of the solutions that are available to him, and he has the ability to match up those solutions with a variety of customer issues. I was generally satisfied with my experience, nothing extremely negative. the auto transport industry is peculiar so I went into it for a third time very skeptical, but was happy with my experience. read more

Bottom line: DO NOT go with AMPM Auto Transport. Absolutely horrible organization and they don't deserve anyone's business until some significant changes are made to be more transparent and communicative with the customer. I will try and keep this as short as I possibly can. I requested a quote on Jan. 29 to have my car shipped from a small town in New Mexico to Seattle, Washington. I received a quote for $695 door-to-door service, and placed my order on Feb. 1 with a requested pick-up date of anytime between Feb. 28 and Mar. 2. Fast-forward to the week of Feb. 28, and I call at least three times that week to confirm my vehicle pick-up. AMPM assures me (albeit over the phone) that the times are confirmed and that my driver would call me when he is on the way. Mar. 2 comes around, and I do not hear from anyone. At around 4:00 pm, I had to call the company to follow up, only to find out that their driver's truck "had broken down." The company said they did not know what the issue with the truck was, and that they could not determine when it would get fixed. After waiting several days for an alternative pick-up date, on Mar. 13 I decided to forego their delivery services - and I am now having to fly back to pick up the vehicle and drive it myself. Additional points for context: - My original quote of $695 is particularly low for auto pick-up and delivery services. I did not know this at the time, only obtaining quotes from AMPM and one other company. The company does not tell you this and they and continued to assure me that my order had been confirmed. In reality, my request sat in what they call "the board" for five weeks while I was left with the impression that my car was going to be picked up. - I had to find this out through other auto delivery companies who saw AMPM's request for $695 in "the board," and learned a great deal about how this unregulated business works. - My location in Eastern New Mexico also did not help, as it is a small town that is far and away from heavily-trafficked interstates/cities. Anyone who requests pick-up service in these kinds of areas are basically asking for truck drivers to drive out of their regular routes to go and pick up your vehicle - which is generally more expensive. Because of this, AMPM should've declined my request outright at the very beginning and save us the hassle. Don't boast "door-to-door service" if you can't do it. - When my quote was originally given I worked with a woman named Chelsea H., who was the logistics coordinator and oversized delivery specialist for AMPM. She was prompt, quick to respond and gave me the necessary paperwork to process the order. - As soon as my order was placed, I did not hear from her again (because I was looking for a confirmation). Instead, I worked through a man named John L., also a logistics coordinator. This man was less responsive and always put me on hold for at least 20 minutes at a time, even when he'd already put you on hold 11 minutes before getting back to you. I felt like my number/request number was blacklisted, because AMPM must've known about my request conundrum. - He did not explain things well at all, and I even had to thoroughly instruct him to send me e-mails, just so I had a "paper trail" of any correspondence I had with this company. The company did not tell me what happened to Chelsea and immediately after my order was placed, I had the feeling they were keeping details from me in an attempt to hide something. I asked to speak to his manager, and he declined saying, "I am the manager." I asked to speak to the person he works for, and he also declined that request, telling me his boss is a person who does not speak very good English. If this company was just perfectly honest with me at the very beginning and outright told me, "The quote for your request is far too low and we cannot deliver your vehicle," I would not be doing all of this. Instead, AMPM continued to assure me an empty promise while my request sat in the queue until past my delivery date, and did not maintain open lanes of communication with me. Instead I had to reach out to THEM to find out everything. A nightmare experience that places unreasonable burden on a customer, especially when the request goes in several weeks early. read more

After using (or we thought) another transport company who rooked us over the coals, Mike and his team picked up our two vehicles from this other place's lot and transported them to us in Connecticut. This other place hadn't even given us a date of delivery. AMPM, however, guaranteed delivery within 4 days(!!!!) and followed through. We received our two cars in fine shape on Memorial Day. When The Male and I got the news that we were moving the the PNW for work a few years ago, we were beyond stoked, but we didn't want to put the road trip mileage on our Dodge Neon. She's old, but she's paid off and we wanted to keep it that way if possible! So look, I had no idea that you could transport a car. Like..none. I thought only dealerships did that, but the almighty Google directed me to AM/PM and after talking with Laura, I felt at ease! :] She explained the process, gave a fair quote that was firm (no changing prices when the car was at your front door), and warned us that the car may be late due to weather. I forgot to tell you that we moved up here during Snowpacalypse... Yeah, so the car was late but only for a day! We were starting to unpack our apartment when the truck rolled up and dropped off our beloved Dodge! Laura gave us a follow up call to make sure nothing was damaged, we were okay and if we needed anything else! We already plan to use AM/PM when we move back to LA, or MA or where ever. I was having issues finding a good source to ship my suv .. so a friend recommended ampm and I gave it a shot within one day my vehicle was shipped and delivered promptly!! Called the day my car was supposed to.be picked up. Was told they needed to call back. Called next day to find out about pickup and was told they will not ship my car because they don't have a truck. But if I give a few hundred dollars more they might be able to move the car. This is after booking the service 4 weeks in advance. Now have to cancel plane tickets and find another shipper. No communication. Waited until move date to.cancel, asked for more money... Not the way I do business. read more
