He didn't explain what he was going to do so my son wasn't comfortable to the point that after we left that office my son told me he didn't want to go back again. Because all people are different and some people often complain without a reason, I will only say this - I am not one of them, this is my first review on any company ever. If you are looking for a good dermatologist, Advanced Dermatology is not it. Dr. Agha was maybe in the room for 1 minute (after a 2 hour 15 minute wait), had no idea why I was there, did not even close the door, literally stood in the door, look at a paper in his hand and said "we will get you taken care of". After this, a team member came in and tried to sell me laser correction, I was there for a follow up to check on how I am healing after things they have taken care of in a previous visit. (at that visit he did not even bother to see me) During the over 2 hour wait, they did send in the student, by herself, an administrative assistant to apologize for the wait and I believe, maybe the nurse practitioner, who also had no idea why I was there. She said, the dr. will look at how I am healing.... Definitely will not recommend them, I think they are focused on selling the Cosmetic part of their practice. read more

This is my first review but I had to say something because of how horrid this doctor has been. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT EVER under any circumstances go to this doctor. For 23 weeks I have been suffering from scabies, and when I went to this joke of a doctor, he didn't even look at me, refused to listen when I told him of the symptoms, was extremely rude, and kept interrupting me in the middle of explaining what was wrong. He then proceeded to refuse treatment and told me he would only look after me after I had gone to an allergist. This whole time I was also stuck with this horrid doctor because I had to get melanoma checked out on my body for ten weeks. Multiple allergist visits later and they said that I needed to go to a dermatologist. Having been stuck with this "doctor" I go back to Agha and tell him it is not an allergy-related rash and that it's not what he misdiagnosed for the last 13 weeks of appointments. Then and only then did he look at the rash which turned out to be scabies. I was prescribed medication which was impossible to get for multiple weeks due to horrible communication on the doctor's part. Finally, after the treatment was over and nothing had changed, he mentioned (because he had only seen me for a total of maybe 15 minutes over 13 weeks) that you cannot get rid of scabies until my immediate family gets treated as well. A horrible and rude piece of shit doctor needs to get his license revoked for making my and my family's life miserable for the last half a year. I'm glad to say I have now had all the precancerous spots removed and will never have to deal with this doctor ever again. Please save yourselves the trouble and money!!!! read more

I visited Dr Agha in hopes of treating an issue with my scalp. After a very long, almost 3 hour wait, he came in the room and would not even get close to me to examine my scalp. He stood back with his arms folded, with a look of irritation on his face. Also, he debated with me and told me that I had diabetes because I had darkness on my neck. I told him that I had just had a physical and I was not diabetic, he refused to believe me. It was absolutely the most bizarre appointment that I've ever had. Also, he is very condescending and rude. Before he left the room, he looked at me and laughed and said, 'I have an excellent diet plan'. He said it in the doorway so loud that other people could hear. I was so embarrassed. He said it not once, but multiple times. It was to the point where the PA started pushing him out of the room. Needless to say, I canceled all follow up appointments and refuse to go back to this practice or recommend him to anyone. He is absolutely terrible. read more

This has to be the best dermatologist in the metro area I am convinced. In less than 3 months I have clear skin with ZERO need of make up. He removed my hyperpigmentation and acne scars. I suffered hair loss in small patches and he is repairing that as well. My hair is shedding soooo much less. My son's acne is clearing fast. I made an appointment with this dermatologist back in March of this year, due to them seemingly being the only derm who accepted my insurance. I've had facial issues since childhood and suspected I had rosacea. I did not see the doctor at all - I saw the PA, Karma (Karmen, not sure which or how it's spelled to be honest). She prescribed a steroidal cream, an oral antibiotic, BenzaClin, and Tazorac cream. My insurance refused to cover the Tazorac. I called to ask about getting a prior authorization, because my insurance had needed that and I thought they had done that for me (see, I had called them when I found out my insurance needed the prior and had been told that they would take care of that). I was told that they would not do this for me. Imagine that, a doctor's office refusing to help a patient out on medications. Well, it turns out the reason they won't help is because they expect you to buy it from them! Nope. Can't afford it. And why should I do this when my insurance pays for medications? Needless to say, I cancelled my future appointment and will never go back. read more

I am a local who happens to be a Realtor. I had clients move to the area needing a dermatologist for their teen son. Wanting be an area expert and resource for my client, I reached out to this office to introduce myself. I like to get an authentic look at how companies do business. With Douglasville growing so fast and everything going digital, I thought I'd stop by to learn about their services. I contacted their office online and by phone. When someone finally responded, I was curtly asked "what product are you selling?" I explained that I have clients I wanted to recommend. They never responded back to me. No harm; No foul. I stopped by in person and they had flyers at the front desk. The young lady smiled but wasn't able to answer a question of mine. I forgot what I asked, but she didn't have the answer. Of course that's fine, but she made no effort to find out. Soooo, I left and referred my client to a Dr. in Atlanta. My goal is to always keep money in our community. I missed the opportunity to do so this time. At the end of the day, I just want to refer friends, family and clients to a place that treats people kindly. My 3 stars are generous. read more

Went in with a skin condition my primary care physician had diagnosed as scabies and he told me to go see a dermatologist. I made the mistake of scheduling an appointment with this place. The first appointment he prescribed ivermectin pills which are used to treat scabies but when I went back for my follow up with the conditions worse than the first visit he proceeded to ask me why at 60 years of age I was on Medicare. Then he proceeded to ask how long I had been taking the hydrocodone I was prescribed for my back pain that is the reason I am disabled and on Medicare. Then he asked if I had the lesions on my back and didn't even look to see. So I guess he was suggesting I'm a pill popping body scratcher that just goes around looking for scabies treatment. I would like to know the number of people that want to walk in and admit they have scabies and want medicine for treatment just to get scabies medicine. I'm pretty sure you can't get high off of it lol. So after telling me four times that it wasn't scabies and looking at me very suspiciously he suggested a bunch of bloodwork and tests and a vitamin B shot and walked out. I told the assistant(nurse) that called me in who did actually believe me and said unfortunately he is not the doctor I told him not to bother with all the prescriptions he wanted to call in and I walked out. Unbelievable the attitude on this guy. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

Extremely poor customer service. My first visit was yesterday 12/12/2016, I waiting over an hour to be seen by the person I wanted to see because she did not work that day and I specifically asked for her. There were four people at the front desk and they were not organized or professional. It's sad this business has not invested in customer service. I had to reschedule, then I called this morning to cancel and left a voicemail during the time the office was open. I also sent an email can elation due to their 48 hour cancellation policy. I called again and someone picked up the phone and hung up on me on purpose. I am going to report this business to the Better Business Bureau. I am also going to visit the office to get my co-pay refunded. If the customer service is bad no telling how their other services are. read more

Would give no star if I could, i called to schedule an appointment because this is the closest Dermatologist to me and i haven't had good experiences in the past so I was already looking out for myself when calling. I asked if I could schedule an appointment for as soon as possible for my cystic acne,she then proceeded to ask me why I chose there office to visit and I said it was because it was the closest doctor to me and it was under my insurance. I told her I would like to schedule my appointment for the Acworth office just to make sure and then a couple days later I get a call the confirm my appointment at the Douglasville location and I told her that I purposely scheduled for the Acworth location but she told me it would be about a 20 minute drive which I knew was bullshit but I said sure I'll come in because my face looks horrible. I drove an hour to get to my appointment but I thought it's be worth it .Once I got to my appointment they were asking for 200 for my appointment but my insurance is 70 for a specialist! I ended up paying making me broke and see the doctor that literally came in the room for 5 minutes. All she did was check my body bc I have the skin cancer gene and prescribed me medicine without asking any question about my skin type or anything. I wasn't recommended any face wash and they wanted me to also buy a 100 dollar face cream to help with my scars when I told her I just bought a big bottle of maderma which is expensive as well for my face. Later when I go to the pharmacist they tell me my medicine wasn't covered and they tried contacting the doctor over the past 2 weeks and never got a response. That medicine would've been 400 dollars are you fucking with me bitch like I'm 19 and live on my own, and I'm college don't have all this money to be balling out on skin care that probably isn't the best for my sensitive skin. read more

I went to Advanced Dermatologists in 2015 to have a dark spot on my nose looked at and possibly removed it it needed to be. I saw Dr. Agha (after waiting for over an hour in the cramped, uncomfortable waiting room) who did a visual assessment and determined it was a melanoma, but would have to do a biopsy to see if it were malignant or benign. He took it and sent it to the lab...turns out, it was benign (thank goodness). I told him to go ahead and remove it, which he did on my next visit, but a few days later after the removal, I received a phone call telling me that he didn't get all of it and needed to remove some more. I went in and had the additional skin / tissue removed. On my next visit, he grafted skin from my neck to replace the skin from my nose, and was told that it wouldn't be very noticeable at all after a period of time....he sewed the neck skin onto my nose and sent me on my way. He wanted to see me in a couple weeks to have the sutures removed, but decided that they needed a few more days, so I rescheduled for a week. I showed up thinking that I'd be done and everything would be ok....well, not so much. He pointed out a couple things / spots I had on my forehead that he wanted to remove.....THEY BOTH WERE BIRTHMARKS, not cancer!!!!! At that point, I decided that I no longer needed his services, and that I'd be done with him. A slap in the face came when I received a bill from him saying that I owed him over $4,000 for my visits / procedures there. I have Medicare, which paid him 80% of his inflated charges, but he still billed me for the other 20%. I called the office a few times to dispute this, but seemingly there was never anyone there to take my call....everything to voicemail...no return calls. I just decided to ignore my bill....big mistake...I was sent to collections and my credit report shows this as unpaid. In summary: 1) I saw Dr. Agha for a total of maybe 1 1/2 hours (that's a high side estimate) total for all my visits. EVERY visit, be it just a visual diagnosis, having sutures removed or just a follow up visit, was charged in the thousands of dollars, as was the visits to have it removed and skin replaced. He also billed me for the visit I had to make to remove the cancer HE DIDN'T GET on his the 1st attempt....over a thousand dollars!!!!! Same with any follow up visits....thousands. 2) Every time I had to go there, I was left in the waiting room for at least an hour....1 time well over 2 hours. Dr. Agha wouldn't be in the office...he'd fly through the waiting room when he actually did return from his lunch or whatever....very, very unprofesssional!!!! 3) My nose is an eyesore....I have a patch of approx 3/4 of an inch of dead skin (very, very discolored and embarrassing) on the tip of my nose......so much for not being very noticeable!!!!! I didn't go as far as informing Medicare about his billing practices, but in hindsight, I should have. All I'm doing at this point is attempting to let anyone who's contemplating seeing Dr. Agha to look elsewhere....ANYWHERE!!!!! read more

I am very grateful to have found this dermatologist. I have challenging insurance and the staff were very capable at working with my situation. I was able to get an appointment rapidly, which concerned me as to Dr. Agha's reputation. He and the staff were very knowledgeable, kind and patient with me as they all explained what my condition was and how to treat it correctly. It has become increasing rare to feel truly cared for when dealing with medical professionals, but this office raised my experience of care to a new level. My condition was correctly diagnosed and have been under treatment for two weeks with great success. I would recommend this office to others. read more

I am so blessed to have found this place. Dr Agha is a wonderful Dermatologist. I had visited 3 derms prior to seeing dr. Agha to check a little bump that had formed on my nose. All the other Doctors said its nothing just a burst blood vessel. But when I went to dr.Agha he did a skin scrape and it came back positive for Basel Cell Carcinoma. He did a wonderful job with removing it and you can barely see the scar now 2years later, and no cosmetic work had to be done. I am lucky to still have a nose. It was serious and all the other doctors blew it off because I was young. Dr Agha doesn't sugar coat anything, he gives straight forward answers. I liked that. I will definitely recommend this office to anyone. read more

The antibiotics they gave me were like the hand of God. Literally stopped ALL acne production on my face. It did indeed solve my problem temporarily, however after resorting back to a life style conducive to acne such as stress, anxiety, eating unhealthy, and not valuing cleanliness (things like not changing my sheets and waiting too long to shower after sweating) the problem did come back. Trying antibiotics again later on did not have the same success. So I highly suggest that when he solves your acne problem initially, try your hardest not to relapse. Especially with peace of mind, as I found that key to eliminating acne. Worrying about it and having anxiety over my skin and what other people might see gave me horrible anxiety that only made it worse. Not even acknowledging it (because people with clear skin never have it cross their minds) helped tremendously with the psychological aspect. After all, it is what it is and being patient is something Dr. Agha stressed to me. Nevertheless, I could tell Dr. Agha was a very sincere man, he truly makes an effort to help solve your problem. But his clinic is also one of the few dermatology locations in the entire state, so be prepared to be patient, because the masses swarm his clinic. Bring a book, something to study, or even your phone because his services seem to be incredibly sought after and the wait is not short. But even with the overwhelming amount of people that see him on a daily basis, he still tries his best for you and finding a solution even if it requires multiple visits, and that's why I respect him. On another note, most of his solutions were cheap pharmacy-wise. I did try a chemical people to help with acne marks, but it is very expensive. It didn't help with scarring as much as I would have liked, but it helped me get rid of a lot of annoying bumps that wouldn't go away for as long as I could remember and hyperpigmentation was reduced noticeably. read more

Beware! This office is very scammish and does a lot of questionable things, such as making you come in to the office and pay another office fee just to get negative test results. Also this office charged me 182.00 for a biopsy in which my insurance company said my out of pocket should be 100. I have been working for almost a month to get ahold of someone in billing to arrange a refund of the difference that I paid. After several unreturned calls, I called to speak with the office manager and was told that they dont have an office manager. The office also charged for pathology in which they outsourced. I received a bill from pathology that stated "No insurance" One could assume the reason they did not send over my insurance to pathology was because they submitted for a procedure that they did not so and did not want pathology to submit for the same thing. And hoped that I would just pay without viewing my itemized statement and checking procedure codes. Medical practices have been known for getting away with this type of scammish behavior and I do believe this office is one of them. Be careful. read more

I went to advance dermatology and saw Dr. Agha. My appointment was at 2:45pm and I wasn't taken into a room until 4:05pm. The doctor did not enter into my room until 4:35pm. Dr. Agha has horrible bedside manners. He is very belittling when speaking to the patient and he did not take into consideration anything I said. Instead he referenced the blimishes on my face and wanted me to try a medicine to remove the dark spots or a chemical peel, instead of being proactive and placing me on a medicine that would prevent the acne. He walked into my room for 5 minutes, said his piece and exited the room. While outside of my room he spoke to his nurses loudly about my case ( I was able to hear him through the closed door clearly). Exactly 20 minutes later, he entered my room, prescribed a medicine that I told him doesn't work for my skin, and told me good bye. I walked out of there at 4:55pm. I would NEVER recommend his practice to anyone nor will I be returning. The only people that apologized for them being being behind, were the two receptionist at the front desk. If I could give a negative numeric score,I would because the 1 star does not suffice. I was very upset leaving because this is my 1st time ever writing a review for anything. read more
