I've been happy with my doctor - they are great about seeing you immediately if you find something suspicious otherwise you'll want to book your appt early. They also do a thorough job at skin cancer screening - however my big criticism is that they don't tell you upfront that they don't code as preventative screening. So if you go thinking you'll get 100% coverage from your insurance - think again. I was surprised to pay almost $200 for a "diagnosis" visit (vs preventative) for my screening - I got this explanation from their Billing dept. Then I tried calling the office to recommend they mention to patients they don't code as preventative screening so patients aren't surprised at their bill - I left a message and no one ever called me back :( Other that that, I've been happy with them. I'm looking for a new office. Between the horrible billing and customer service to having to listen to a doctor and the staff gossip (FYI those corner offices on the left can hear EVERYTHING) it's just a big NO for me. I always felt like I was getting pushed to buy something either skincare (the owner is apparently a spokesperson for it and it doesn't work) to spa treatments. Just an icky feeling. This clinic has been nothing but great for me. They helped me medically and cosmetically. Last year I had the worst hormonal acne and I was getting married by the end of the year! So from July to December is how long it took for my face to feel normal again. I have also done 2 moxi treatments with the wonderful aesthetician, Celia and the results are amazing! People of color - don't come here! Their treatment left me with loss of pigment! I visited this Dermatology office for 2 issues - a dry skin irritation on my hand and discoloration just below my lip. I saw the physician's assistant, who told me that the discoloration I have under my lip is "a shadow" because of your "voluptuous lips". Are you kidding me!?! She said she could prescribe a bleaching cream but as it was already irritated, I didn't want to try that. She didn't seem to know what she was talking about. I went to another dermatologist for a second opinion and not only did they agree with me about the discoloration but they actually have a treatment for it. The other issue is the dry skin issue on my hands. I have been prescribed an ointment for hand but no one ever told me that it would change the pigmentation in my hand. Now the skin from my knuckles to my nail bed is lighter than the rest of my hand. It seems they don't have experience or care or people for darker skin tones. Their office visits used to be $100 but in the last year they raised the fee 40%! Since I was displeased with my service I asked their billing department if I could get a refund or partial refund and was told they would check with the practice (they outsource their billing to a different company) I heard nothing for weeks before I got a letter demanding payment. I called again and finally go the practice manager to call me back. She said the owner, Linda Benedict, said NOPE, they were not going to budge. So now I am out $140 for just being insulted. Overall good experience for my first visit. Very clean office and are handling the new covid situation well. They are practicing social distancing and measure your temperature prior to seeing you. They will not offer masks so you will need to bring your own. Parking: garage is available and attached to the building. I was there roughly an hour and paid $5. Sucks that they do not validate. I had to wait 15-20mins even though I had an appt and was on time. People that came in after I did were seen before me so I was a little annoyed about that. I saw Dr. Edmonds. She was friendly and to the point. I didn't feel pressured for any services or anything (came for a routine skin exam). She explained the process prior to starting the exam and was easy to communicate with. I would come here again for subsequent visits. read more

I have been to several appointments here and always been pleased. I have suffered with melasma for several years and it had an effect on my self confidence. After two Moxi laser treatments and a skin care regimen recommended by Dr. Erickson, I can now go without wearing make up the first time in ten years. The laser nurse Celia is amazing! I was a patient of the Georgia Skin Institute and didn't have a pleasant experience. The practice was referred to me by my PCP to treat my plaque psoriasis. I was being treated by Physician assistant Traci Jones. After 2 appointments it was determined that the best plan of treatment for my condition would be the injectable Skyrizi. On January 30th I called the practice to inquire about my status and was told that a follow-up would be done with Skyrizi and someone would get back to me the next day - That never happened. I called 2 days later, and no one answered the phone that was assigned to physician assistant Traci Jones. Over the next 3 days, I left messages requesting someone call me back to provide an update. Finally, a week later I was able to reach someone who told me Traci Jones was no longer with the facility. No one contacted me that she was no longer with the facility. This process with Traci Jones / Georgia Skin Institute started on 12/05/2022 at the facility followed by a follow-up visit on 01/09/23. During my last visit, I completed the application for Skyrizi followed by my bloodwork on January 11th and as of today February 3rd, almost 2 months later, my application has not been submitted to my insurance company or Skyrizi. This is not a practice you want to utilize for your skin condition(s) due to their poor customer service, lack of communication, professionalism, follow-up, and transparency. Now, I must find a new doctor and start the process from the beginning. A complete waste of my time. read more

I had a rash on my hand that wouldn't go away after 3 weeks. Booked an appointment and got Dr. Corinne Erickson as my dermatologist here. Wow! I felt she really took her time listening and evaluating my condition before she communicated openly and professionally about what was going on. I got 2 Rx that day and of course...waited 2 days for my condition to almost completely disappear before leaving a 5 star recommendation. I cannot sing Dr. Mohandas's praises loudly enough. I have to see her monthly, as I am undergoing Accutane treatment. She is always early or right on time, does a thorough check-up, and goes out of her way to see if I have any questions or concerns. She's the definition of what a good doctor should be. Additionally, I've also had a great experience with Amanda, who handles a lot of the administrative burden around Accutane, and the other competent and friendly nurses on her team. Clean office space. Short wait time. Very standard, hurried care. I asked for a specific care provider for a mole check after reading reviews here about the time and genuine concern she offers. I was told that she wasn't available and everyone at the office takes their time. Instead the doctor who saw me was rushed, distractedly asked me questions she didn't seem interested in hearing the answers to, and rushed out the door after a quick exam. I do appreciate that they measure and record the sizes of each mole, so that they will be able to notice growth in subsequent visits. Parking is in a parking garage and not free. Allow plenty of time since it may take a bit of time to find the parking and office. read more

I think Dr. Duvall is one of the better overall specialist I've seen over the years. She listens to your issues, and even answered a question I was thinking before even having to ask it. HELLO, mind reading doctor. The best part of all she gave me allot of samples of my prescription to try out before spending money on getting the actual prescription filled- and then gave me a coupon for it as well. Scheduling and filling out paperwork was also a breeze with ZooDoc online ( why aren't more practices using this) So when I showed up all I had to do was give them my id and insurance card. In a day and age when some medical practices nickle and dime you it's glad to have a doctor looking out for your pocket book as well as health. read more

I must elaborate on my previous 5-star review(s!). I've been seeing Dr. Duvall for years now for acne, off and on. I'm embarrassed to discuss the acne problem, but the possibility that this could help someone else allows me to overcome that to write this review. And what strikes me about her practice is that the entire medical staff seems to consist of models with flawless skin who nonetheless purport to empathize with your embarrassing skin problems. Although I'm in the mood for this irony some days more than others, I always appreciate the effort, having grown up with a horrible dermatologist whose bedside manner seemed to involve pretending the patient wasn't human. But I had to let the world know that the person who assisted Dr. Duvall absolutely knocked it out of the park today. I think her name is Carly but I'm not totally sure. Anyway, although I was a tad jealous of/irritated by her lovely skin at first, Carly quickly disarmed me. She struck the perfect balance - genuine and not at all awkward. She was constantly attentive and assuring, and provided me lots of advice from her personal experience. I even blanked out on something I wanted to ask the doctor, and when she came back in after the doctor left, she said, "I think I know what you blanked on" and then proceeded to correctly identify the issue that I had meant to raise, tell me she'd already spoken to the Dr. about it, and give me some very detailed and useful recommendations. And after all this, of course, her gorgeous skin quickly turned into a source of hope for me rather than envy. Dr. Duvall was her usual awesome self too. The fact is, I walked out of there looking no better but feeling 100% better, and extremely hopeful. Even if none of this works, feeling like I have these people on my team is some very effective medicine. GA Skin Specialists, please assign Carly (hope I got her name right) to all your emo acne patients (at least the adult women). She's wonderful. read more

I'm sad to leave a negative review here, because I genuinely enjoyed visiting the doctors at Georgia Skin Specialists. The front desk, however, has left a truly terrible taste in my mouth. I visited this practice multiple times several years ago. My co-pay at the time was $20; I nearly always paid this in cash, since it was such a handy amount. I was thus surprised when I received a bill in the mail for $20. It is more or less impossible to stroll out of the office without stopping to check out and pay your co-pay; I was certain I'd paid it, likely in cash. I called the office to ask them to verify, and they showed no record of the payment. I asked them to look into it further, as I simply couldn't work out how I would've walked out without paying. Much to my surprise, several months later I received a notice from a collections agency. That's right-- they send a $20 bill to collections! The bill had risen to $65 due to additional fees piled on by the agency. I called both the collections agency and Georgia Skin Specialists, asking why it had been so hastily sent to collections without so much as a returned phone call (I'd also sent emails that were unanswered). Georgia Skin Specialists shrugged me off; the collections agency is just an agency, so they obviously have no clue what's happened. I've since offered to pay the $20, simply because I want it to go away-- but I refuse to pay an additional $45 for what at best I assume is a clerical mistake, and at worst I assume is a receptionist pocketing cash. I'd come here again, probably, but I would certainly never pay cash at the desk! read more

I called for an appointment with Dr. Duvall after reading her positive Yelp reviews, and I'm glad I did. She was booked for the upcoming few months for full body skin checks, but they were able to fit me in the next week for a shorter appointment to check out a few new moles I had noticed. She and a nurse were both in the exam room. Dr. Duvall explained what she was doing as she was looking at my moles and gave me some pointers on what to look for on myself for the future. She discovered two atypical moles, so she removed them in that very appointment and sent them off for a biopsy. She addressed all of my concerns and made me feel very at ease at the whole thing. The results came back this morning, and as the nurse described to me on the phone, "If we had left them alone, they would have continued to change and become skin cancer." I already made a follow-up appointment for Dr. Duvall to do a full body check, because she obviously has an expert eye. I never really thought skin cancer being a viable option. I mean, I'm 25, I eat right, I don't smoke, and I've only been in a tanning bed a few times in my life. But this mole scare was enough to make me understand that everyone should get their skin checked on a regular basis, and Dr. Duvall is the right woman for the job. read more

It's interesting so many of the yelp reviews are for Dr. Duvall, because I feel like the other doctors are just as praise worthy at Georgia Skin Specialists. I see Dr. Holly Edmonds, and she's super nice, straight forward, and she cured my rosacea in no time. The office is super convenient at Howell Mill and 75 in the new medical office building. Parking is extra in the deck and GSS does not validate parking. But it's only a few bucks extra, and for me it's worth it. The staff are all really nice and friendly and call in my prescriptions really quickly. I also give bonus points for any dr. I can make an appointment and pay my bill online. I seriously hate mailing checks or sending out my CC info into the USPS. read more

Why yes, we all bow down to Dr. Duvall. It's kind of funny, actually... very pleasant lady, but a little stiff around the edges (she always does this weird tap-tap on my shoulder when saying goodbye after each visit), also usually will knock on the door AFTER entering the room... uhm why? Oh, and a word about the staff: the ones behind the front desk usually look bored (as evidenced by their high iPhone/iPad usage), and the nurses that take you to your room are usually nice or not-so-nice: I've once had a nurse that plain shut a door in my face! About a year ago, I had some killer bad acne that just came out of the blue. Started seeing Dr. Duvall on a monthly basis, but pretty much saw zero improvement until maybe after the 6th or 7th month mark. A lot of time was wasted because she would start only on the most mild medications and then very, very, gradually increase the severity of the meds. She truly took baby steps with my treatment, and I was left feeling rather frustrated due to a lack of results. It wasn't until she put me on birth control after which I saw some serious improvement. Dr. Duvall SHOULD get a five star rating, but I didn't like having to wait so long to see my skin clearing up... she was a little bit too cautious. In addition, she always seems to be in a little bit of a rush to get you out of the room: I never heard her ask me if I had any extra questions or comments for her. And lastly, they do not validate your parking here, which is another negative. read more

I've had a great experience with Dr. Duvall at Georgia Skin Specialists. I've always been very hesitant when it comes to dermatologists because I have really sensitive, difficult skin (eczema, acne, etc.) I have been seeing her for a year and she's been great working with me. Issues: sometimes the nurses are not the friendliest. Some are super great, but I've been talked to in a sassy manner more than once. Dr. Duvall is also pretty hard to get into, but when I schedule far in advance, they're always great about seeing me on time. You also have to pay for parking which is a pain. I keep going back and I would recommend Georgia Skin Specialists. read more

While Dr. Benedict and Dr. Duvall are amazing, Carrie (who is technically a PA) is by far and away the best! She's the most thorough medical professional I've ever encountered. The first time I came in (now more than 4 years ago) was to have two moles looked at. Carrie immediately took them off that day because they looked suspicious. Being a pale, freckled chick, this happens to me a lot, and every time I come in I'm given the same stellar treatment by the whole Georgia Skin Specialists team. My most recent visit was for an annual skin exam. Carrie and her nurse went over every inch of my skin looking for abnormalities and documenting them BY THE MILLIMETER for my records. The doctors and PAs here are excellent with incredible skillsets and insight (and great bedside manner). I really damaged my skin from years of relentless sun exposure and tanning beds. I've been seen multiple times for multiple different procedures and ailments and the entire practice is quick, efficient and empathetic to patients going through sometimes really scary times. I was referred to Dr. Diane Duvall by my sister more than 7 years ago and she's amazing! I go in at least once a year to get a full body exam to check for potential skin cancer/melanoma. Be sure to book in advance - I always make mine for the Fall after the summer sun is gone. I'm fair skinned, but really believe this should be a must for everyone. A place people (myself included) forget to use sunscreen is your back and it's pretty much impossible to check it yourself, so this exam is invaluable. They keep track of all moles/freckles that might pose an issue and review them from year to year - checking growth to the centimeter. You can also go in for minor issues as well, like acne or rashes. Dr. Duvall is professional, intelligent and highly qualified having been the Chief Resident of Dermatology for Emory University. read more

Sort of disappointed with the office staff... I having been seeing Dr. Duvall for years now. Each time I leave an appointment, I make my next one... with Dr. Duvall. I showed up for my visit this time and they took me to Carrie Howell's office. When I mentioned that my appt. was with Dr. Duvall the lady said, "Oh no, she is really hard to get an appt. with.." and shut the door. I didn't want to be difficult (especially at 8:30 in the morning) because the truth is that Carrie is very nice and seems to know her stuff. But the fact is, I made my appointment a year in advance because I know how hard it is to get time with Dr. Duvall. Dr. Holly Edmonds is amazing! I can not thank her enough for everything she did for me. I went to her after another doctor made a horrible mistake and injected filler into an artery causing vascular occlusion. Dr. Edmond helped me immediately. Dr. Duvall left me disfigured after one routine visit. I went to Georgia Skin Specialists a little over 3 months ago because of three persistent pimples on my neck. She suggested that she treat them with a cortisone injection to make them dissipate. Unfortunately she injected far to much into my neck and left me with a large crater in my neck. If you care about your appearance, save your money and go to another dermatologist. I only hope that one day my skin will return to the state it was in before seeing Dr. Duvall at GA Skin and that the effects of what she did to me are not permanent. The worst thing is that I was even over charged by the front-desk for the procedure so I was told the next injection would be free. No thank you. read more

After being misdiagnosed at 24 years old with shingles at an Urgent Care, treatment didn't help so I looked for a specialist. Georgia Skin Specialists were able to get me in within the hour. I saw Dr. Bone who who determined it was poison ivy from working out in the yard. She quickly gave me a steroid shot, prescriptions, and sent me on my way! It cleared right up. She was incredible! The whole staff was unbelievably kind and had me back in the patient room before I had finished my paperwork. They were very efficient. It was an hour after my appointment until I saw a doctor. The doctor laughed at me when I told her how much I sweat when working out. I asked her what was funny and she laughed again and didn't say anything. Worse than that, at checkout I was given one bill which I paid in full, a few weeks later they told me I owed approximately $280 more because insurance decided not to cover something, then a few weeks later they told me I owed another $75 and sent threatening letters. I scheduled an appointment for them to look at the pigmentation on my face and I literally was talking to the "doctor" for 5 minutes and she didn't tell me anything resourceful except what she "THINKS" I should do. I'm like that's not the reason I'm here is to hear what you think I should do. So I then purchased the brighten cream they had just so I can still try to show support and I ended up paying cash for my appointment and the cream. So when it time to pay, the nurse gave me a 20% discount for paying in cash and told me that I was good to go. So a few months later I'm receiving bills talking about I still owe them money for my appointment and when I called (which was exactly 6 times before I received a response to my issue) they said it was an error on the office end but I still got to pay because they messed up... I recommend NOBODY got to this place and even after my friend told me they were horrible I still chose to go. NEVER AGAIN!!!! read more

This place is great. I went right in to my appointment without waiting at all. Dr. Kerri is both an efficient and competent dermatologist. Right after giving me my prescription, the nurse had already googled the pharmacies closest to my house. They then showed me an app you can use to see which one sold my prescription the cheapest. That was a nice consideration since I am paying cash. I had blood work done and my bill at the end was ridiculously cheap. Very fast and thorough office. read more

Had such a terrible experience with Dr. Holly Edmonds and her staff. Definitely do not recommend.

I had some spots frozen off my legs and was told my Dr. Mohandas that I could return in a few months to have the re-froze if the spots didn't go away and that the visit would be free. I returned 5 months later and she said that the spots just needed more time to heal and that, if I wanted, she would call in a prescription for bleaching cream that would cost about $40. So I said yes. It was literally a 5 minute visit where she did nothing - and it was supposed to be free. That said, the prescription ended up being over $100 and I decided against it. The doctor's office billed me $50 for the visit because Dr. Mohandas wrote a prescription. I wish someone would've told me that before I accepted the offer for a prescription. I essentially, traveled to their office for the sole purpose of paying them $50. I will not be returning. On another note, it took me 3 days of calling and leaving voice mail before I actually got a real person on the phone (because no one was returning my calls). read more

Dr Edmonds is fabulous! If there was a way to give them more than 5 stars I would do it. I have been to the office for 3 appointments in 9 months. Dr Edmonds found a malignant melanoma on my leg during my first visit so she automatically gets high ratings for saving my life. First visit- 8:30am. I was out by 9:15 and the exam was thorough enough to find the scary mole on my leg and shave a test. The second and third appts (every 3 months for the next few years ) were at 11 and I was out within 45 mins. There s a sign in their lobby stating that you will wait no longer than 20 minutes and I have not waited longer than 10, so far. The staff are all very warm and friendly. They greet you right away with a smile. The office is well maintained and I can't say enough about the Drs. Dr Edmonds is kind, caring and very easy to talk to. When she called to give me my test results after the first visit she spent 10 minutes on the phone with me explaining the procedure to come and wanted to make sure I was completely at ease and answer all my questions. Now a PSA: please stay out of tanning beds. :) read more

I have been here twice already and didn't ask to specifically be with Dr. Duvall, but it just worked out that way both times. My appointments were for two different issues entirely and for both of them I found Dr. Duvall very engaged, attentive and thorough.
