EVERYONE we dealt with was very professional, from the foreman to the paint crew. We had some fascia that needed to be replaced before painting and Amsberry did that for us at a very reasonable cost. Several of our neighbors have had Amsberry's paint the exteriors of their homes and they all were very happy. We decided they were the right choice for us. We were out of town when the power washing was done, but they did a great job and also power washed the driveway and patio, which we had requested as an add-on. The painting job went extremely well. They were very thorough in their prep work - Taping and covering the windows. The job was very thorough and much quicker than I expected. Amsberry came out and did a good job cleaning. And while the paint job overall I am happy with it is everything else that occurred that was an issue. Amsberry left a half a dozen paint spots in my yard where they cleaned brushes. The people who sanded and prepped tossed their sanding pads used on my lawn and left them, they left old food on my property for several days and candy wrappers were dropped in random places. Amsberry dumped paint into my French drain system then attempted to cover it up by cleaning the grate. I received a harassing phone call from one of the painters to my personal cell demanding I 'fix it' with Amsberry because they were holding his check. I don't know what he was talking about because I already gave my credit card to Amsberry. The owner told me it was related to some other things on another job. I was not given ample notice in my bill or my estimate there would be a 1.5% charge for credit card. I could have altered our building plans to avoid it, the owner said they would waive it. Not only was it not waived but they over charged an additional $10. Having to contact Amsberry to fix things and all the other things that happened made this a poor experience. I know they have a great rating, but Amsberry is very expensive, I paid up to an additional $1,000 to get a great experience and that never happened. read more

Very poor customer service from beginning to end - the young girl who took my call to book an estimate wasn't at all on her game - it took two separate phone calls to book the estimate appt and the calls took way too much time to book - she shouldn't be allowed to be the front person and she also booked the wrong time - Trevor, the estimator called at 8:00 this morning and when I asked where he was he wouldn't tell me & I said the appt. is at 9am and he couldn't make 9am due to another appt & then he got very argumentative and said he wouldn't work with me - unbelievably rude service and I would urge all not to work with this company - I have several other bids from good outfits and I will chose one of my other alternatives. read more

Amsberry's quality of work is second to none. We've had them out several times in the past, from big jobs to small. They've experienced a big growth spurt recently and I think it's a testament to the quality of work that they do. Jeff is a great guy, very straightforward and easy to work with. Thier quotes will most likely come in a bit higher than some of the cut-rate companies out there, but don't make the same mistake that I did (one time only!) and go with the cheapest quote. The quality of the work performed will suffer and so will your carpets and the nice crisp lines between the wall and the ceiling. Spend a few extra dollars on the job - your house or business is worth it. read more

Ambsberry's was hired to do a Tenant Improvement in our offices and while their painting job was good, their lack of clean up was horrible. However, the worst of the problem came from trying to keep their workers quiet. We were trying to work and they were talking at the top of their lungs. When told to keep quiet repeatedly, it did not stop. Their supervisor was also told, who was not on the site all day. I would not hire them again because of this. They were very disrespectful in the fact we were trying to work while they were painting. read more

Hired them to paint one room. The crew did show up on time. After that, everything fell apart. Finished later than expected but no courtesy call or any notification as specifically requested.(and then lied to as bout it) Drips in the paint. Un-patched holes. Left paint on furniture as well as paint and debris on the floor. Jeff Amsberry assured me that he was there for the clean up. APPALLING! How anybody could leave a "finished" job in that condition and still be in business is unbelievable. After that missed/postponed appointments and excuses were the rule. After two more visits (including bring his child to the job site) there are still spots on the wall without paint and paint tracked on the floor. I got tired of their unreliability and gave up on them. If you value your furniture, floors and your time, look elsewhere. read more

Strongly recommend Amsberry's Painting. They painted the full exterior of our home (Oct 2020) as well as quite a bit of interior painting and staining (new wood replacement windows) - Nov 2020. The quality was truly excellent. I am picky and can say that they are detail oriented. they were not have masks on at no point while they were painting. They did a fantastic job on painting the outside of the house. The only problem I had is that they left four (4) large bags of trash that I had to take to the curb, it was a pain since i am handicapped. Thanks to a neighbor it all got to the curb. We hired Amsberry's Painting a few years ago when they were painting other homes in the neighborhood. We were very disappointed with their service and paint job. First, they covered the windows with plastic. I thought they would be back (given the weather was perfect for painting) the next day or certainly the day after that. Nope - 5 days later, and after several calls into the office, they returned. After the kids caulked the siding seams, I needed to tell them to go back to many and do them again as they were done sloppily. After the painting was done, I found that they trampled several bushes in the back yard, got paint on my concrete patio, did not replace the hose bibs (lost them )and bent a hose nozzle. It's been about 4 years since they painted and my house (as well as the neighbors who used them) needs to be painted again. :( It was an expensive lesson using Amsberry. read more

We recently had our home painted by Amberry's and are just THRILLED with the result. Francisco, our head painter, was really professional, respectful of our home/space, and did such an amazing job. We were expecting it to take a solid week to paint with just two guys, but we were pleasantly surprised to have it completed in 3.5 days. The price was as quoted, no surprises or add-ons. I've now had multiple negative experiences with painters / painting contractors, including painters not showing up, not finishing work, leaving paint drips and messes, etc. I was therefore very cautious about having Amsberry's do the sizeable ($10k+) chunk of work to get our house ready to go on the market. However, they REALLY came through. Jeff Amsberry did the initial walkthrough with me as well as multiple follow up walk throughs, and another project manager / supervisor, Roland, also went above and beyond (including spending many hours of his own time) to ensure a very high level of quality. I used to be a real estate agent and have seen many painters in action so when I needed my own home painted I was leery and was referred to Amsberry's by a friend. She was right! Showed when said they would, painted the house earlier than expected, did not try to jack up price with "add ons" and the plants and ground around the house do not look like the floor of a craft room. We hired Amsberry based on a recommendation from a neighbor. The office staff and crew are professional. The crew was efficient and careful to not damage plantings around the house. I was astonished that no payment/deposit was required until the job was finished and we were completely satisfied. That demonstrates a high degree of confidence in their ability to satisfy customers and indeed they did. One example is a section of trim that was being painted to match an existing section. Although the label on the paint was correct, the painter noticed that the color was not going to match and alerted me. Then he took the paint back to the store to have it remixed to match. The result is perfect. We are very happy with Amsberry's work, would use them again and recommend them to friends. read more

I have to say that the one star is probably more than they deserve. I had a quote from them for the interior of a 3 bed apartment. I felt that being a local company I would use them if their price was fair. I own quite a few rentals and am always looking for local companies to serve my needs. I had 3 quotes. Two were fairly reasonable and close to each other at $1800. Amesbury came in at $8600. That's right. Not a typo. $8600 for a 3 bed apartment in Monroe with limited masking as everything was removed from the unit. When I called to question the price, I received an interesting explanation. I was informed they charge $1500 per day. I asked how many men would be working on the unit. Two men. I asked what was the company hourly rate. $65 per hour. So I am a little confused. $65 x 2 X 8 is $1040. I asked what the other $460 was for? I was told everyone in the office was involved with my job. I asked how many days would it take to paint my 3 bed apartment. 6 to 7 days was the answer. I have painted many of my apartments on my own. Normally with full masking of kitchen, flooring, bathrooms. This takes me on my own at the most 2 days. Then to paint takes a few hours. Clean up just a few hours. So let's round up. One person 4 days. They have two people 6 to 7 days. At somewhere between $1040 and $1500 per day. Plus tax. Now I cannot say what their quality is like. I can say I would never use them based on three things. They cannot work figures very well. And they clearly are slow to do a job. They cannot explain their charges well. As a realtor I am always looking for good honest companies that provide competitive prices that I can recommend to clients. Sad to say this is not one. read more

I received an estimate that was higher than 2 other quotes I was given but settled with Amsberry as they were nearby and had painted the outside of other homes near me. They had good reviews and their web site notes how customer service oriented they are where they work to meet your satisfaction. I will not consider them again and would advise others to save their money and choose anyone else. The workers were slow, not particularly detailed, just slow like they had no incentive to work at a pace that would finish the job in a reasonable amount of time. I was quoted a 4 person work team that would finish in a week. I was only given 2 workers that were replaced due to how slow they worked and it still took a week and a half. I am still trying to get mistakes fixed and get pushed back by other jobs. What a mistake. If you want to pay too much and get so so results that take much longer than planned, choose Amsberry. We contacted Amsberry's Painting after one of the walls in our home was damaged. While we initially contacted them for the painting, they indicated over the phone that they thought they could also repair the damage if it wasn't too extensive - which was great for us as we wouldn't have to hire and coordinate with multiple contractors. They came out and assessed the situation, explaining in detail what they would do and their approach for painting the space. Appointments were easy to schedule and the team that came out was professional. I work from home and my office was right next to the wall they were repairing; they didn't disrupt my work at all. They matched the paint for us, repaired the wall, and painted it all in one day. It was fantastic and is now our favorite wall in the house - we wish all our walls looked as good! Estimation and painting were done quickly, though without quality control of the painting crew. After inspecting the paint job beyond the visible eye (ie: above 20 ft), it was clear the crew did no prepping and just slapped on paint. Within 3 weeks it flaked off.
