I had such a wonderful experience with Painting America. They really did an amazing job. I had a color consultation with Pam to determine which colors to use. I found this really helpful and recommend it to anyone. Pam was very knowledgeable and taught me a lot about how paint looks completely different depending on the light. Again, highly recommended for anyone. Dave and Ross painted, and I don't think they could have done a better job. They are artisans with a LOT of expertise who made my condo look brand new. They are everything you want in a painter. They showed up on time EVERY day, cleaned up after themselves, and were polite and professional. They respected the work hours set by my HOA. Ross even fixed my running toilet (at no charge), which I really appreciated. Before the painting, I had some old baseboard heaters replaced with wall heaters. As a result there were some areas with holes, old paint color, etc. Dave and Ross cleaned all that up. The wall heaters look great, and you can't tell there used to be baseboard heaters. They also fixed a ton of issues I had with my trim. The flooring company who installed it didn't do a great job of joining separate pieces. Painting America took the time to fix all the joins and make it look like a single solid piece. I took bids from 3 other companies besides Painting America, before I went with them. They were one of the higher bids, but they are well worth the money. I am so pleased with the results, and when I need painting in the future I won't look elsewhere. They most likely will not have time for you. I have tried to get on their schedule for 2 years now. The first year I got a one liner - ' Our schedule is full' The second time around I reached out to them early in March: - First they wanted to know if I am ready to wait till August -Then they wanted photos - ' picture of each side of the house including elevation change' - And they wanted livable square footage and colors. All of the above before they even scheduled me for an estimate. I have since had other contractors with equally fabulous reviews on yelp come over, give me estimates and get me on the schedule for this year. read more

I just had 19 interior doors refinished by Dave and team and I have to say I am super impressed. When comparing bids for the job, Painting America's wasn't the highest and it wasn't the lowest. We hired Painting America to paint the exterior of our 15 year old Craftsman house. We couldn't be more pleased. Pam and Dave started the process with a 2 hour color consultation. We had a vision of what we wanted and they totally got it. They took our idea and helped us pick out the perfect shades. Dave and his crew exceeded our expectations with both the prep and finish work. They sanded down and subsequently primed the wood trim, filled in holes, and caulked seams in the siding all before the actual painting. The paint itself looks great. Customer service is excellent. After painting the columns on the front of the house the way we agreed to, my wife and I decided we wanted to change it. No problem. Dave was super-focused on making sure we were happy with the results. He not only wanted us to 'have what we wanted', but he was also a great sounding board. Maybe they're great painters, but I'll never know. Sure they came out for a free estimate and talked up all the great things they'll do, but their quote was nearly three times as high as my other two - that's thousands of dollars we're talking about. My home wasn't even in rough shape or very special. Just another 2 story tract home. The fact that my other bids were also from licensed contractors and within a couple hundred dollars of each other makes something sound fishy going on with these guys. So by all means go ahead and have them quote your project, just make sure you do your due diligence and get some additional competitive quotes. I can only guess that these guys play up their positive reviews and hope you don't shop around. read more

We just purchased a house in issaquah and wanted to update the interior paint job. We set up quotes with about 6 different companies (I know, overkill) but cancelled the last 3 after meeting with Dave and Pam. They agreed to meet us at a time that was convenient for us and took their time to go over what needed to be done including resurfacing walls that had bumps and nail pops (don't know what they're called really but you could tell nails were pushing out drywall into the room), fixing the gaps between the walls and the closets (there were spaces between the closet frame and wall in many spots), along with the amount of time we wanted them to spend on these types of corrections. Other painters we brought in didn't notice these and so didn't account for it in their quote. We would either have had to pay more or would have had to deal with the imperfections. They even went over different types of paint we could use since we were painting many rooms including kids rooms and the living room. To my (happy) surprise, they didn't recommend that we use the most expensive paints. The other painters didn't go over this with us. They got us their quote the next day and it was in the middle so we decided to go with them bc we were so impressed with the interaction we had. We also went ahead and used Pam's color coordinating services which was SOOO helpful. She came over and spent about 2 hours going over colors for bedrooms and the living space - we probably went through 20 different swatches of the color we wanted for the walls and ceiling but she wanted to make sure we were happy with our choices. After our decision was made, work started a couple days later. The finished product looks AMAZING!!! Dave also did some more resurfacing and spent a lot of time cutting in the wall and ceiling colors bc ours weren't exactly straight. They didn't even charge us extra for this which I greatly appreciated. You could tell Dave wanted to make sure the job was done right and not just fast We need to get more rooms done in time and I won't even hesitate calling them and using them again bc they did such an amazing job. We've even recommended them to a few people already. read more

Pam was very helpful in choosing paint colors, and her recommendation was tailored to my needs, not her personal preference. Her recommendation did not necessarily cost more either. I am nearing the end of a major remodel with a design/build firm which subcontracted with their own painting company to paint over half of our interior walls, stain a new wood staircase and clear coat all new fir doors. The quality of their work was terrible. We have used Dave and Pam for years and I wished I would have negotiated using them instead of the completely unprofessional painters who our builder had a relationship with. I ended up hiring Dave separately to fix several things that the contracted painters really screwed up. At one point we had to say the first painters were no longer allowed in our house. Dave and Pam are the epitome of professionalism. We feel comfortable enough to give Dave the code to our house so he can come and go when he needs to work multiple days. I would definitely not feel comfortable doing that with many of the contractors recently in my home. Having your home painted is a big investment, both in time and money. After receiving 3-4 quotes, we noticed that all quotes were in the same ball park as far as price was concerned. But Painting America stood out above all of the other companies for a few reason. Dave has 30+ years of painting experience, the company has great reviews, Dave and Pam kept talking about making us happy from start to finish and to top it off Painting America offered a color consultation. Pam was great listening to my wife during the color consultation, she didn't recommend what color we should use, she observed what colors she liked and helped us pick our own colors. Dave and Chris were very professional during the painting process. All surfaces, furniture and floors were covered up just as a precaution. Dave did some voluntary wall repairs and treats your home as he would his own. The edging looks great were the walls meet the ceiling and our accent wall lines are impeccable! I'm very picky when it comes to the condition of my house and during our final walk thru I pointed out a few areas of concern (areas of concern that didn't bother my wife but bothered me), Dave understood and said "we want to make you happy from start to finish", so he touched up all areas I had shown him no questions asked. When Painting America left, we were and still are fully impressed with their customer service and there expertise! We recently bought a new house in Mill Creek and are in need of getting several rooms repainted. I inquired online and got a call back that afternoon, which was probably the highlight of my experience with this company (in that they called back the same day). The lady that called me back (Pam was her name I believe) was friendly enough, but sadly spent entirely too much time bragging about their "FABULOUS" reviews on Yelp and didn't really seem that serious about obtaining new business. She then went on to tell me that due to all the "FABULOUS" reviews on Yelp they're booked up through June (which is great for them) and that will lead them into the "outdoor painting season" which means the soonest they'd get to me is November Really? November for getting rooms in a house painted? I didn't realize I was trying to use Obama's or Oprah's personal painter. Good for them I guess. Unfortunately there probably isn't enough room in my house anyway to fit this company's ego through the front door. We highly recommend Pam and Dave from Painting America! From start to finish this dynamic duo was highly responsive and professional. We recently moved into a new construction 3,000 square foot home where the walls needed resurfacing as well as high quality paint on the walls and ceiling. We were overwhelmed with the color decision so Pam Brooks conducted a color consult. Her process was so spot on. She listened closely to our words as well as what we did not say (facial expressions and body language). She picked up quickly if she was presenting a color choice we were not 100% comfortable with. That color was put aside and we moved onto a color shade or variation that worked for us. By the end of the two and half hour process, we had colors picked out for the entire house. Pam also offered decorating suggestions as we worked through the house which I really appreciated. Pam made it very clear that even though we got a color consult from her, we were not obligated to use Painting America as our painter of choice. We acquired a bid from three painters and while Painting America was not the lowest, they did provide the most detailed quote leaving nothing up for question and they also specified high quality paints from Benjamin Moore. Dave and his crew were very courteous. I work from home and they were respectful of being as quiet and non-disruptive as possible. Most important, the final job is amazing!
