When I was coming into Amsterdam Cafe, I was attracted by its hipster charm. There was colourful graffiti all over the walls, there were old televisions, other old objects for decorations and the waitresses were dressed in short-sleeved casual ware. The menu was pretty interesting as for as meals and alcoholic beverages go. I ordered the Vegan Budd-DAM Bowl and their Sex Off Pistol. the drink was decent, but nothing special. the vegan bowl was amazingly piquant. The tahini dressing brough everything together and the veggie ingredients tasted fresh. I highly recommend this dish to everyone, even if you are not a vegetarian. My only real complaint about the restaurant would be the noise level from the music playing. Other than that, I recommend Amsterdam in Whistler.

    Nachos, loaded and delicious.

Over 40 and lame like me? Or carting around energetic youths? Then this place may not be for you. Two reasons: loud (avg 86dB, max 97dB) and cleavage (boobs). It's not a huge place, and the food was actually pretty decent. The nachos in particular really hit the spot after a full set of runs all morning & afternoon. But where the three of us might have wanted to chat for a while ... that really wasn't an option given the volume of the (good) music. I suppose the Dam Hotties should have tipped me off but looking around I quickly discovered cleavage everywhere. Not just in the artwork but clearly guests had left behind some lingering impressions in the form of polaroids tacked up around the place. If you're game for this ambiance then this may well be a four star joint for you. Sadly, I was hoping to chat a bit and literally couldn't hear, hence one fewer star. After finishing a round or two and the nachos we found a different après place.

I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of my food. I got a burger and got the area, it was actually fairly inexpensive. I split it but probably could have finished one by myself. It definitely has a hole in the wall vibe but it was definitely worth it. My drink was half off for happy hour.

Solid spot with great music and vibes! I didn't go inside but outside has heated lamps and great elevated view for people watching. Service was great. They had some good deals on espresso martinis which we loved. Food is kind of what you would expect from, bar food and burgers. Nothing to write home about but we came for apres ski drinks and vibes, not as much for the food.

When the patio isn't even half full but everything in the vicinity is packed, let that be your clue. I didn't. It was a hot day and I just wanted a cold one. The grapefruit ale was nice. I decided to order fish and chips as well. You can't go wrong with that at a pub. Oh yes you can. It was nearly burnt and was served with a weird arugula and olive salad. The server was sweet, but totally oblivious. I requested ketchup and waited over 5 minutes. The place was NOT busy. Don't come here if you can avoid it. There is so much better out there.

Overall: The pricing was on the cheaper side compared to all the other places around. With that being said, you get what you pay for. Atmosphere: This restaurant is located pretty central to everything which was super nice. We came for New Years and was able to sit outside. It was such a nice vibe because they had heating lamps outside so we were able to sit, not be cold, and watch the snow falling and people walking. It was an amazing vibe. Best part of the experience. Food: We got the full rack of ribs. Was not impressed. The ribs didn't taste fresh. It's almost like they were cooked a couple days before and just headed up prior to serving. There wasn't a lot of sauce on there. Overall, did not like them at all. Would not recommend. Service: The server was amazing. Super friendly and extremely nice!

Good place to go if you are looking to just drink and not care so much about the quality and selection of beers and such. We stopped in late one Sunday evening around 11:00 pm to quaff a pint of Ale. We sat outside as it was way to hot inside to bother. I chose one that I was expecting to be an American Pale Ale - but turns out it was an English Pale Ale - which has quite a different flavor profile vs. an APA - more malty and less hops. I prefer the APA but drank the Ale anyway. The place is really loud - so expect to yell a lot during your conversations. The bartender appeared to be in control of the volume and she was cranking it. Our table was dirty and sticky - so we did not stick around for another round. We got a taste of the "show" that other reviewer had alluded to... I'll leave it at that...

I feel it's my duty to plead with you to avoid eating here. Have a drink and enjoy the patio views by all means. However, spending your hard earned money on a meal here is a massive waste. We spent 60 bucks on 2 mediocre burgers with stale buns and soggy fries. On top of that service was so lacklustre. I get it - you're in a tourist district and you can expect to pay more - however this food was pretty terrible and our server never asked how things were going. Plus I was given the wrong side. No apologies although this was rectified - all in all dining here was the downside of our stay in Whistler. Mistake has been made- Please learn from ours and don't waste your money here. It'll be the best decision you've made your entire trip. For the the record I'm not one to write a bad review unless I really feel justified.

I'm glad we ordered a whole pizza in advance and it was ready for pickup when we arrived. We got a half and half pizza with spicy calabrese and hawaiian. The pancetta and calabrese were both salty but the pineapple balanced the pancetta. I personally preferred the Hawaiian side. It was a good portion size and I liked having the half and half option to try different flavors. I liked the thin crust pizza, though our pizza felt a bit overcooked that it less chewy than I would've liked.

He didn't seem to fully understand what we were looking for, and it would have been helpful if he had mentioned the upstairs patio, which turned out to be exactly what we wanted. Downstairs, Chloe provided excellent service inside (away from crows) and her warm service really turned the experience around. We enjoyed cocktails there, then closed out our tab before heading upstairs. The upstairs outdoor area was much quieter and far more relaxing. The young man serving us upstairs could not have been nicer, and we had a beautiful view of the mountain bikers coming down the mountain. The pizzas were excellent, and the overall atmosphere upstairs was fantastic. Black's Pub has a great location, excellent cocktails and food, and outstanding service. The arrival experience could have used a little more attention, but once we discovered the upstairs patio, the experience was absolutely five-star.

It was a little chilly but they had the heaters on above. We ordered the truffle fries and the poutine. Truffle fries were perfectly crispy and the garlic aoli was spot on. Very delicious. The poutine I'm not a huge fan of by itself, but it was visually more appealing than Longhorns which I had a day ago. Again, it's just soggy fries. Ordered the hot honey pizza, double pepperoni parmesan and the bbq. Was not aware the barbecued had pineapple on it, but we powered through as a group. Every single piece of pizza so this is just the right amount for eight people.

There were many tvs and a big screen projector showing the hockey game. Then I noticed Canucks jerseys hanging from the rafter and on the walls. Ok, so sports was big here. It was not rowdy though. We sat away from the main dining hall and got a corner table near the entrance. Service was ok, took a while for the requested extra napkins to come. Our server forgot about it. Guessed it was busier in the main hall which was on a spilt level up. Food wise, it was decent food in a neighborhood pub. Not a huge selection but it had the typical food here so everyone should be able to get something they like. The calamari was surprisingly good. Tender lightly battered squid, not rubbery at all. The whiskey bbq ribs with fries and slaw were good too. The wild BC salmon burger with clam chowder was so-so. I wished the salmon was a bit less over cooked. Salmon was lightly charred outside and unfortunately the inside was a bit hard. At least not too dry. I would prefer the salmon to just have a light crisp with the inside being 70-80% cooked. The miso glaze was nice though. The clam chowder as the side was bad as it did not taste like it at all. It was more of a cream of vegetables soup with some bits of clams in it. That was a disappointment. Fries or salad for the side in future. I also had the Moscow mule. It had real ginger bits in it. I didn't care for that as you kept getting them in every sip and they were real gingery spicy. Not a place I would make a special trip for, but a decent place for a meal when passing by.
