Aaron has to be best bartender in town! Cute little bar across the Fairmont Chateau for when you don't want to walk to the village.

We started coming here three years ago and sadly only get to visit once a year during Cornucopia while we're staying. The staff has always been so dang friendly. We love sitting at the bar top and having the best conversations with them. I've never tried the food, so I can't comment on that -- my review is based on everything else. If you've never been, it's a MUST try!

Great bar and food. The highlight of the bar is their extensive gin collection, but also features…read moreplenty of cocktails with other liquor, wine, and craft beer on draft. The food menu is interesting and eclectic enough to have something to please everyone (including a few vegan and GF options), but not overwhelming with too many choices. It's connected to a hotel but you wouldn't guess that it's a hotel restaurant. Earthy and classy atmosphere. One detail that could have improved the atmosphere would have been to change the music - it seemed like they were playing one or two long dance tracks through the entire time we were there. Not a big detractor from the experience though. The service was good - the staff were pleasant and wait times were reasonable. I'm not a gin enthusiast so I did not get anything with gin, but I was pretty impressed with both the strawberry g&t and the g&t flight that my parents ordered. The strawberry g&t was served as a large glass with ice and strawberries, and the gin and tonic on the side, so the gin could be tasted on its own and the drink mixed to taste. The gin and tonic flight was also presented with each of the components separate. The instructions for drinking were to first taste the gin on its own, then add ice to see how adding ice changes the flavour, and finally mix with tonic. My beverage of choice was the "big easy" stout, a nitro Irish-style stout, which I really liked. Nice to try a drier stout with the nitro. I had the Korean cauliflower bowl for my entree. The bowl was delicious - the Korean fried cauliflower were nice and crispy and flavourful, and the coconut cauliflower rice also deserves a special mention. My parents got roasted red pepper linguine and the arctic char, which I also tasted. We shared a carrot cake and chocolate cake for dessert. The spiced whipped cream that comes with both cakes and the red wine cranberries on the chocolate cake really elevated the taste. The three of us were in agreement that all the food was great. We were very happy with our choice to eat here.

(Kari's Rating 5.5/10)…read more Came here with a group of 8 for an aprés ski and they charged half of us coming in a $10 cover just "because it started getting busy." Which it wasn't inside at all where our table was. Very loud and rowdy and the dj played the same parts of songs over the three hour time span we were there. Our server was half attentive, but she kept wandering off when we wanted to order more drinks-which just kind of made it difficult. We couldn't find our server for the rest of the night so we ordered from other random servers. We ordered a few buckets of beer and two poutine's. Which ended up being $48 for two small bowls that's essentially just really soggy fries- But to each their own. It's not the restaurants fault, it's what we ordered. We did order the regular truffle fries and they were much better! We also did a round of green tea and tequila shots, all shots were $12. Pretty cool for a first time experience but probably wouldn't come back, as it's overly crowded, champagnes flying everywhere and the bottle service sparklers were so strong it smelled a little like chemicals -but fun while we were here.

We got here after 8+ pm for a late dinner after off-roading in the Squamish valley. The place was…read morebig and luckily it was not full house as it was a weeknight. There were many tvs and a big screen projector showing the hockey game. Then I noticed Canucks jerseys hanging from the rafter and on the walls. Ok, so sports was big here. It was not rowdy though. We sat away from the main dining hall and got a corner table near the entrance. Service was ok, took a while for the requested extra napkins to come. Our server forgot about it. Guessed it was busier in the main hall which was on a spilt level up. Food wise, it was decent food in a neighborhood pub. Not a huge selection but it had the typical food here so everyone should be able to get something they like. The calamari was surprisingly good. Tender lightly battered squid, not rubbery at all. The whiskey bbq ribs with fries and slaw were good too. The wild BC salmon burger with clam chowder was so-so. I wished the salmon was a bit less over cooked. Salmon was lightly charred outside and unfortunately the inside was a bit hard. At least not too dry. I would prefer the salmon to just have a light crisp with the inside being 70-80% cooked. The miso glaze was nice though. The clam chowder as the side was bad as it did not taste like it at all. It was more of a cream of vegetables soup with some bits of clams in it. That was a disappointment. Fries or salad for the side in future. I also had the Moscow mule. It had real ginger bits in it. I didn't care for that as you kept getting them in every sip and they were real gingery spicy. Not a place I would make a special trip for, but a decent place for a meal when passing by. They open till 12 midnight or 1 am. Nice sized parking lot in front and back of the building.
