Their lack of professionalism was further highlighted when I repeatedly requested to cancel the service, and despite multiple attempts, I never received a cancellation confirmation or any follow-up communication. I felt the customer service representative's tone had a racial undertone, which I interpreted as discriminatory. This lack of follow-through and disregard for customer requests is deeply concerning. It shows a company that does not prioritize its customers or their time. I strongly advise anyone considering Amy's Home Services to reconsider and look for a more reliable and reputable company. I received a quote for some plumbing work which was really minor. The quote was $150 and I felt that was a fair price. When the plumber got here, they immediately started placing their company's large green stickers on my water heater and my furnace before even looking at the plumbing issue. I was then encouraged to enroll in some sort of membership program, again before doing any sort of work and I declined the membership. I was then told that the work would be $500 instead of the original quote. I needed the work done, so I really had no choice at the time because I already took off of work to have the work done. The plumber seemed very inexperienced and spent over an hour doing similar work to what a previous plumber did in less than 10 minutes. This convinced me to always look for a local plumber (mom and pop) moving forward. Very good lesson learned. read more

My displeasure is not the service, but that the price was very expensive. But I also have to say that the Manager contacted me and they gave me a credit and lowered the price. I have used Amy Heating and Plumbing for many years. Within the past 5 years I have put in 5 furnaces and A/C units in 3 properties, a tankless water heater and used their plumbing and electrical services. I purchased a 10 year warranty for every furnace and A/C unit I have purchased from them. They have recently started finding ways to NOT HONOR their warranties. This is the 3rd time I have had to argue with them when a furnace or AC unit stops working properly. They find any excuse to not honor the warranties. The AC guy came yesterday and stated the pipes to the AC unit were not installed properly and he had to put in the correct elbow. Supposedly my warranty is not being honored and I was charged $300. Today I am dealing with a ton of water leaking all over my floors from the "new, correct" $300. elbow he installed. I don't know what has changed at this company but they have turned dishonest and can't be trusted. read more

Horrible service, they say they are open 24 hours-but the Sunday worker was completely clueless--they left us hanging. We spent $2k with them- later had an issue and got dragged around. Poor customer service , they don't get the idea that good people with flooded basements due to a faulty product should at least get a return call by someone knowledgeable and with mold and other issues and families with small children-- Amy should treat families well and should get a clue that customer service Is 80% of the business and they fail miserably at that- don't trust them-they are vague, money grubbing, and insincere! read more

My sump pump went out and in a panic I called the number that was on the sticker on the pipe. When I called, I immediately spoke with someone rather than having to leave a message and had them in my home about an hour later. The guys were very professional and did a great job with the replacement. I was unable to comparison shop, but have been told since that the charges were average to a little high. Because of their quick response time and professionalism, I will definitely use their services again (although I hope it's for something I can schedule in advance and not be an emergency). read more

I have a humidifier that I suspected had never functioned since we have owned our home. I scheduled an call with Amy Home Services. They gave me a 2 hour window that day and about 20 minutes before I received a call stating that the tech would be here at the early part of the window. My tech was Mark Wirsing. Mark was highly professional. Purposefully making the point to wear boot coverings every time he had to return to his truck for something, even though this was in our basement and he didn't have to go across any carpet. I sensed that he had a professional level knowledge through conversation, dressed appropriately professional for someone doing this type of work. Mark was able to replace the humidistat and get it functioning which has made a big difference. We are hopefully in the process of moving in a bigger home and I want to make sure we catch any problems so Amy offers a club which waives service call fees, provides a discount on work performed and offers A/C and furnace tune-ups along with whole house plumbing inspection and an electric inspection. Makes sense in the event something comes up that needs to be dealt with. read more

Amy's Home Services has to be the WORST plumber in the world. I called them to clean out some mineral deposits in my Koehler Faucets in my master bathroom. They had come out once before (hired by someone else affiliated with my home; not me) because I had no hot water. It turned out that it was a simple fix. My townhouse had been vacant for nine months while repairs were done after a flood in it and the pilot light on the hot water heater went out during that time. Apparently, they were the only plumber the other person could get on short notice and would come out on the same day they were called. At first, I thought Brad the plumber who responded was very nice, he was friendly and he lit the pilot light and told me I would have hot water in about an hour. I asked him to please look at the Koehler faucets, that the townhouse had stood vacant for nine months and that I believed that a build-up of mineral deposits was the reason one of the faucets had no water at all and the other one was merely trickling. He looked at them and said he agreed and that a special tool was needed to remove the screen on the faucets so they could be cleaned out. He said he didn't have that tool. I called the contractor who had done the restoration work in my townhouse after the flood to find out the name of the tool and he was less than cooperative. So I called Amy's again to do the work of cleaning the faucets out. I thought that since Brad had been so nice the first time, he would accommodate me now. I told the receptionist that there was a special tool needed, but that I was unable to find out what it was and that she should tell Brad that I was unable to get the name of the tool from the restoration contractor. She said she would add it to the notes. The next day Brad showed up and immediately asked me where the tool was. I explained that I was unable to get the name of the tool from the restoration contractor and that I had informed their receptionist to make sure Brad knew I didn't have the tool before he made a service call, since a service call was $79, whether they did the work or not. Brad got somewhat snotty, then, and told me that he had already told me I needed that tool, that the reason he didn't clean out the faucets when he lit the pilot light on the hot water heater was because he didn't have the tool. I said pleasantly that I told the receptionist to make sure he knew I didn't have the tool. "All the receptionist does is take messages," he told me. He then photographed the underside of the faucet and looked something up on the Internet and told me he now knew the name of the tool, he could order it and the total price of the job, including the cost of the tool would be $320.00. "To clean out mineral deposits!" I exclaimed. "That's too much." He acted disgusted. I said I suppose I still have to pay the $79 service fee even though you didn't do the work." "That's right," he said snottily. So I gave him a check. I was informed later that if I hired them to clean out the faucets once the tool was ordered, they would not charge me another $79 service fee, but the cost would still be $320.00. I called them today, nearly a week later and told the receptionist, as pleasantly as possible, that the only day I was available for Brad to do the work was next Tuesday as I was very busy and also had outpatient surgery the following week. "Okay", she said rather rudely. "Goodbye." She hung up. The truly interesting part of this is when the receptionist answers the phone, one of the things she says, "Is how can we make you smile?" I have read terrible reviews on Yelp about Amy's, but if you go to their website, they say "Our customers love us" and they only publish five star reviews. It was by coming to Yelp and reading the reviews that I realized they were not a good company. I called back and told the receptionist that I didn't care for her attitude or Brad's and I didn't want them to do the work. "I guess I'm out the $79 service fee and you're out the price of the tool. Goodbye." Do yourself a HUGE favor. Don't hire this company - you'll be sorry. read more

STAY AWAY!! Called to let them know my blower motor was shot and in addition to the service visit fee, they tried to charge me almost $1000 to install the motor. Thankfully I have two furnaces, so I went online, paid less than $100 for the motor and had a friend who is an HVAC engineer install the motor in less than an hour two days later. If you complain, the owner will also insult you and claim that you are a liar to make you feel guilty for questioning their billing practices. Completely predatory service and billing practices. They get the job done but they really over charge you for their services. They came to clear a drain for us using an auger, they were here for less than 30 minutes but chargers us $360 dollars. It was well above what other plumbers charge for a similar service. They also try to sell you on a service plan for $20 a month. No thanks. I am honestly a bit surprised at the bad reviews. We have used Amy Home Services twice. The last time was for furnace maintenance this past Saturday (01/23). The technician Justin was very thorough, and made what i felt were very good recommendations without being pushy or too "salesman" like. I hate going to a place like a mechanic, and feel like i am dealing with a salesman and not a service professional. As far as the cost, we got a quote for a total duct cleaning with blower cleaning, and a new part for the blower. It came out to about $1k. That seems like a lot, but we got quotes from other paces for just the ducts that were around $700, that didn't include the blower cleaning or the parts. A few years ago we had a catastrophic flood in our basement. We called Amy to check out main sewer outage and eventually found that we had a break in the pipe under the road. Long story short Amy home Services actually worked with us and cut us a deal on the service of rooting the pipe and the camera. I was really appreciative for that as it was a really stressful time, was nice to save a few bucks. They also took the time to write a detailed report for our insurance company, and due to the details in the report our insurance company ended up covering the entire cost of repair and damages. To put it into perspective, it ended up totaling $38k (we ended up with a whole new basement). read more

"This is on its last leg, if you fix it now we will take $100 off but you need to make a decision right now." Was common with these folks. We had a new furnace installed by Amy 6 years ago. We live in a heavily wooded area and my husband argued that without a seal on the end of the exhaust pipe that goes outside, we would have leaves, mice, etc. The technician from Amy insisted this would not be an issue. I wish you could rate things separately on here like price, customer service and professionalism. Amy techs are always professional. They are always on time. I was on the maintenance plan that they offer, but the price for any ac or heating repairs is still shocking. So far for me they have been a dependable company. The job was completed but I feel that I was taken advantage of. I was given an upfront price to repair a leaking pipe. I thought it was high and when I questioned it, was told it was because this was a 3 hour job. The plumber came out and guess what? Fixed in under one hour however still had to pay the higher amount. The labor rate for that one hour ended up being around $650. Seem fair? I think not. I contacted them to ask to speak to someone about this but of course they have not gotten in contact with me. I had a water softener issue. The scheduling was easy. They overcommunicated and were extremely prompt. When Tim, the plumber he came out, he was extremely nice and helpful. We didn't have your typical repair, it's more of a possible addition of equipment to what we have scenario. He charged us NOTHING for coming out. I have NEVER had a company not charge me to come out and look at something, especially a plumbing company. A good friend of mine owns a plumbing supply warehouse and that's unheard of. So, I will absolutely use them again because of this outstanding experience and I would refer them to anyone who needed anything plumbing or heating related. read more

Absolutely terrible. Had a backup at a rental property. My regular guy was not available so he said he heard good things about this place. Gave them a quick call, gave the address and told them to call me when they are dispatched. Got a call from the renters that they were there, no word from them at all. Lines need rodding, they explain to me that they have flat rate pricing, $411 per hour plus a $79 service call fee. First, any company that does not waive a service call fee when they quote a price is a total scam. Second, if you have flat rate pricing you need to say that. I NEVER would have told you to come out at $411 per hour. That is at least 65% higher than a standard rodding price. Totally overpriced. Still wanted to charge me the service call even though I refused service. I told the techs that had they called me and told me about the flat rate price, they would not be there right now. AMY is at fault here. The company knows full well that they are VERY overpriced for services and do not say the pricing to start with hoping you will go with the ripoff because they are there. Save your money, call anyone else. I ended up renting a rodder at the home improvement store for $50 and did the job in 3 minutes. Stay away from Amy Home Services, they will take far more of your money than you need to spend. read more

Called today to have a water heater looked at. Technician left it worse than it originally was, pilot light now wont even stay on, technician "cleaned" the water heater. Had someone else come look at it, technician didn't install the thermocouple correctly and the cleaning he did was not well done, there was still residue left over. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! read more

Terrible gougers! Charged me almost double the going rate to determine a freon leak on my a/c and add a little over 1 lb of freon!! Told manager about this problem and my dissatisfaction - to no avail. He proceeded to tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about!!!! One star is too much. Maybe a quarter. But the price for the diagnostic was worth it $79.00. My Furnace went stopped heating early morning 12/13/17. I called Amy's and was able to get an appointment for a tech to come out at around 0800 (am). I appreciate that. The tech did a diagnostic and located the problem. He was able to get my furnace started again and said it was the pressure switch. He said it would have to be replaced. I asked him how much. He said $405.00. The pressure switch is a round plastic piece with 2 wires and a rubber thin hosed attached to it. I looked at him directly and asked that the pressure switch cost $405.00 ??? He said yes. He said he had one in his truck. While he obtaining the $405.00 plastic part from his truck I googled the part. It ran from $20.00 to 90.00. When he came back into my house I confronted him and said I looked online and found the part NOT FOR $405.00. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE YOUR CUSTOMER !! OR THEIR ABILITY TO FIX THE PROBLEM ONCE DIAGNOSED. I advised him I no longer wanted his service. I was able to locate the vacuum switch for way way way less at $70.00 at an appliance shop and connected it in less then 10 minutes and my furnace is running perfect. read more

My husband and I recently got a new washing machine and we were told by the delivery company that they could not hook it up because the connection was so corroded. We had several calls out to plumbers and Amy was able to get to us the soonest. I think it's important for everyone to know that Amy charges a $79 service fee (that cannot be reduced with the $50 online coupon) and their prices are significantly higher than many other plumbers I spoke to. The super nice service technician quoted me $530 and I just had the same job done for $155. I was told by the customer service lady at Amy that they could not quote me until the tech saw the job that needed to be done. I hoped that they would be around the same price as the other plumbers that had quoted me. Ultimately we decided that price was unreasonable and I declined their services. I was so upset to have to pay $79 for nothing! I'm sure this is a wonderful company that would do a good job, but I would advise you not to go this route unless it's an urgent need and you can't get help elsewhere. On 7/23 my furnace was making a loud noise so I called the number on the side of the furnace to make an appt. I later learned the merchant installed the furnace 4 years earlier. The tech arrived on 7/24 to find the filter had been sucked into the blower wheel so he removed it and proceeded to write me an inflated invoice for $2,399 stating I needed a new blower housing and possibly a new blower wheel and motor. The parts would take up to 17 days to arrive and the tech even said I might need a new furnace. On 7/25 I called Air Tight Mechanical for a 2nd opinion. A tech named Casey repaired the furnace within an hour all for a service fee of $79. I'm so thankful I got a 2nd opinion from an honest and ethical business. I called AMY Home Services on 7/27 to voice my displeasure and to request a refund for the service fee they charged me but John refused to approve it despite his technicians failure to properly assess the AC problem and offer the best solution. Instead this merchant wrote up an inflated bogus invoice attempting to cheat and mislead this consumer. Do not trust this merchant and always get a second opinion to check their work and keep them honest. read more
