First time here after hearing great things. It was a slow start but I think we got there after 3 tables just sat down (we were starving) pretty busy for a Thursday night. So it took a while for the food to come out, but i get it. There was alot of chicken in the enchilada and its one of the better crunchy taco I had in a long time. I think we'll be back to try more. Wonderful first experience here at Amy's. The painted ceiling and fun decor is inviting. This was the best Suiza Enchilada I may have had yet. The salsa was perfect, we all loved it. My 18 month old was in heaven trying to drink it. Yeah, she's a spicy one! My husband ate his entire carne Asada burrito and I finished my plate as well. My daughter had part of a quesadillas and French fries. Rice and bean were amazing! I'm used to Puerto Rican red rice but when I have Mexican this is what I expect. Delicious! We ordered Cadillac margarita with sugar. They came with salt, she forgot but they were delicious and actually the salt wasn't over bearing for me. I avoid salt as often as possible. My second one she got perfect and she brought my little one so oranges which was sweet. Honestly, the service was outstanding and from the talk of a couple tables; the server, was picking up for the missing staff on a busy Thursday night. She did fantastic and though I could tell it was a bit hectic, she handled it like a superstar and treated us like family in our short stay. read more

We love Amy's! They treat us like family. They take pride in every dish. Little things like a couple chips between your taco and the enchiladas so your taco shell doesn't get soggy. Choice of red or green sauce on your enchiladas...both are great. read more

Heard about this little spot from a friend who works at the hospital close by. So glad I did. It beats Taco Bell and Del Taco big time. Since then, my husband and I have been there a dozen times. We have tried the Albondigas soup, Chicken Tortilla soup, enchiladas, chicken tacos, Salsa and Chips, Asada Taco- all absolutely delicious Server, usually the same one, is the best. She is friendly, beautiful, hospitable and always greets you when you arrive. I've always gotten my food to go so I can not comment on serving time and restaurant cleanliness. read more

What a hidden gem! When my parents told us about their favorite place, not going to lie but I was skeptical to say the least. But wow, this place did not disappoint! Wow, I tried to completely REMOVE my first review for this restaurant and it keeps saying "error" meaning I can NOT remove it. I certainly hope that isn't intentional on Yelp's part because I really respect yelp and that would be unfair to the business.....OH WELL :( Still, just IGNORE my first review completely! I had been to the restaurant for the very FIRST time and looking back was a bit overcritical and quite pissed off at all the other horrible Mexican restaurants me and my husband had endured trying to find a new "edible" Mexican spot. Sure, the tacos are small, BUT I have been to several Mexican restaurants and they were this size also. Chili Verde, a well-known chain has the exact same size tacos now and I gave them a not-so-favorable review also because of that! BUT for real....its not that big of a deal when the food and service is Awesome! Plus the tacos are Affordable. Since I wrote that review I have been to Amy's several times and it's HANDS DOWN the BEST Mexican food in Apple Valley!! :) The local readily support this establishment. Everytime I'm there the extra-sweet hostess is just casually speaking to a customer about their family or their weekend or whatnot like she is speaking to an old friend. The Burritos are massive and chips and salsa are always tasty and fresh! Boy, I sure WISH I could just remove my first review as this place has far exceeded my expectations of what a "good" restaurant is and Amy's has indeed graduated to me and my familys favorite place!!! My husband and I moved to the high desert almost two years ago and had been in search of great authentic Mexican food but after trying several different places, we just weren't happy with any of the places we visited. After reading some of the reviews on Amy's , we decided to try it out without any great expectations. Let me just say that this was exactly what we were looking for and needed. The food is delicious and authentic! The rice , beans and salsa are delicious. My favorite dishes so far have been the chilaquiles and the huevos rancheros. The hot salsa is my absolute favorite! Coffee is strong and delicious, and the potatoes are absolutely wonderful. I just cannot say enough about this place. Maria is such a sweetheart and treats us like family. Daisy is so friendly and has a great attitude and personality. It's definitely my favorite spot to visit and I'm looking forward to going back! read more

I suspect the people who wrote crappy reviews were jerks about whatever was wrong with their meal, because Jen was wonderful - not only with me, but with everyone in the restaurant. But I've never seen jerkhood be an effective method of resolving a problem at a restaurant. I decided to disregard the bad reviews and try Amy's. I called in my order for pickup, the day before Thanksgiving, with a marg to go. It's a family owned place, small, casual, and I was expecting exactly what I got, just a nice weeknight meal. Not the best I've ever had, definitely not the worst either. The crispy shredded chicken taco was delicious and the meal was neatly packaged so that none of the food ran together, which I appreciated. A tasty meal at a very fair price. This restaurant is amazing. My adult children were very small when we first started eating there. This family owned/run establishment is always welcoming, the food is delicious, prepared fresh, and plentiful. In the past years, we have ordered tamales and all the side dishes for our family gathering at Christmas. The price goes up, as all things now, but the quality never wavers and the taste does not disappoint. The tamales themselves have remained substantial.
