I like Amy's Nails because they do the "Dip Technique" and they're fast. The Dip stays on longest with little damage to your nail bed compared to all other techniques and it doesn't chip unless you break the nail. Other reasons why I like the shop is you have 3 pedicure options and prices to choose what services are preferred. My last pedicure made me fall asleep I was so relaxed. When I first started going to this salon everyone was nice and things were clean. But ever since we booked an appointment and showed up "late", when we actually were on time they just messed up the time they gave us crappy work. I got a full set and when Danny was filing he was getting my skin and looking around and not really paying any sort of attention. The paint job was messy and made the acrylic application was uneven. The guy who did my nails smelled like cigarette smoke, and it was really hard to sit through my manicure with him. My nails looked good when I left, but two days later I had a chip in my gel polish. I knew he should have put another coat of gel on, but I figured he was the expert. There was about 30 seconds of massage during my manicure, and I'm use to 5-10 minutes at other places. Then I had a pedicure, and the new gentleman was really nice, but again little massage and reflexology for the Luxury Pedicure, which is the most expensive. We moved to Tucson a year ago and knew I had to find a nail salon. It took a few times for me to finally find a salon that I felt comfortable at and did a great job. I decided to give Dip a try and a friend actually recommended this salon to me. She said Amy is the best of the best, and she was not wrong! I have actually tried a couple other salons for Dip, and each time it would chip or lift and I would be stuck with ugly nails for a few weeks. Once I found this salon, I knew I would never go anywhere else again and I'm so happy. They have a huge selection of colors to choose from, offer amazing pedicures with massage chairs included and also do gel, acrylic and just about anything else you can think of. I am easily able to make an appointment anytime as well which is really helpful. There is nothing worse then calling for an appointment and they are not available any of the times you need. Horrible! First time the person who did my toes didnt know what he was doing...my toes looked like a little child did them. Gave them a 2nd chance for convenience....I had an appointment, and they made me wait for over an hour, Amy sat there while the guy who did my nails (after waiting an hour)finished someone's pedicure in between my coats!! I had my autistic daughter with me & my infant son...who was calm the entire time. I went for a gel deluxe pedi today and the guy I got was nice but hurt me quite a few times! He was peeling off the gel from my toes! Previously the other people would just drill it off with their dremel tool!Didn't do that great of a job either! Their prices are high! For the deluxe pedi its $35 and then $20 more for the gel! On Sunday morning my daughter- in -law and I went in to get a pedicure shortly after they opened. There were three employees working and each already had a client with one other client was in a chair waiting. We were asked to pick our color and have a seat in a chair. We sat for about ten minutes before one of the three came over and started going back and forth between us and their existing client. So we had three nail techs taking care of six clients, we were there for 1 1/2 hrs and our nails turned out just OK. Don't think I'll be going back, they need better staffing. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 10 am. When I got there they said it was still a wait which is fine. Got seated around 10:20. I asked for a classic pedicure because online it said it was $25. The gentleman then gave me the full pedicure and said it was $40 even though I originally only asked for the classic. Then my nails were cut extremely short and I was cut on multiple fingers and bleeding. My nails are even and aren't rounded equally. The gel that I paid extra for is already chipping and the coloring is uneven, clumpy, and bubbling. I've never had this happen with gel before. I got them done on Saturday and it's not even Tuesday and it's all peeling. I work from home on a computer so it's not like my nails go through a lot for this to happen. Extremely disappointed. Then when I went to check out they told me that the prices on their website are wrong and everything is more in store. When this shop first opened, I was the first to shout it out to my neighbors. We were thrilled to have this new business open and be so convenient. The pedicures were relaxing and well done and Amy did my nails with exceptional expertise. I couldn't have been happier. Fast forward a few years: I walked in on 9/21 for a mani-pedi. I expected a wait since it was a spur-of-the-moment decision, but was seated quickly. My "basic-no frills (i.e., no heal scrubbing) pedicure was done is about 20 minutes. The gentleman who did it was adequate, no complaints there; my feet were in reasonable shape but needed a little "fine tuning" and some polish. This was not a polish change either as there was nothing on my toes. I did notice as the foot tub was filling with water that it was only water - no antibacterial to help create a clean, sterol, safe environment for a pedicure. I also needed just a simple manicure...nails were already short and filed, needed some clean-up and polish. No problem there. The same man who did my feet also did my nails. It was nothing special, but adequate. I noticed that the technicians were filling the nail soaking bowls with plain water from the tap, no antibacterial or soap in the water. When finished, they each emptied the bowls, rinsed with plain water, and put them back in the cabinet for the next use. This nail salon appears to be cutting corners that could put their clients at risk of infection, or worse, by the simple elimination of the use of antibacterial agents. I also did not observe their tools being sterilized or fresh tools being brought out for each client. I won't say the tools have not been cleaned, only that I did not observe such. I was using up Gift Certificates for this latest visit, but will not be returning. It is very sad since Amy's Nails was wildly accepted by the Dove Mountain community and now it seems they are/have lost the trust of their once loyal clientele. read more

This was a disappointment. The place isn't clean. Tubs have plastic but they don't clean it or change it between uses. They stay a little disinfectant (not commercial grade) and keep going. So I decided to to give this place a try, I got a mani and pedi. I went in on Wednesday at 4:45pm according to their website they close at 7:00 pm(for the exception of Sunday). As I went in, I immediately felt rushed by the workers. Turns out I was their last customer for the day. As I was getting worked on, the worker stated they were going to close early(should've told me when I got there). Instead of doing my feet and then hands like they usually do, They did it all at the same time. Now if I was in a rush, I would have requested that. But I was uncomfortable and it was not relaxing at all. I sat there for about 10 minutes and they were done... 10 minutes! Not only did I not receive a massage on my feet/hands, but my nails turned out horrible!! I was so close to walking out of there without paying. But I decided to avoid conflict and paid the $50(no tip). I decided to call them and go in the next day, I was there for 2 1/2 hours!!!!! They made me wait, accepted walk ins before me knowing I was there for a redo because it was horrible! They made me change my color I picked the day before because "that nail polish runs too much" which was their excuse. As they were working on me I still had to tell me them to fix the obvious things that shouldn't be there! The owner himself did my gel on my fingertips and they still were messed up! Not even and even missed half my thumb. I was so upset. Pretty much just changed my polish the next day. They even did the same thing to my mom who was there that day as well! Horrible place. They don't care about their customers and instead of making it right and attending to me right away to fix their mistake, they made me wait and just did whatever. NEVER Going to this place again! This place was honestly a huge disappointment. Had two walk ins, one pedicure and one fill for long acrylics. They never came to do the pedicure after an hour of sitting in the chair, yet took in 3 other walk ins during that hour! the fill that was done was so poorly done. the shape is non-existent now because they were filed and buffed with no precision, the color looks patchy, and overall length and shape don't even match the other nails! I had my middle finger nail replaced and it's a complete mess. I decided to give this location a try since it's only about five minutes from where I live. Despite some of the negative reviews I really wanted to give it a try. I walked in and asked for an eyebrow wax. The employee said OK and I signed in and had a seat. She didn't tell me how long the wait was going to be but I figured it wasn't very busy so I'd be seeing maybe in about 15 minutes. The entire time that I was waiting no one followed up with me to let me knowHow much longer it was going to be. I told myself I'd wait no longer than 20 minutes and if I wasn't seeing then I was just going to leave. Another woman came into the location and said she needed a pedicure.The employee was about to service her but the woman pointed at me and said she was here first. I told the employee that I only needed a brow wax. The lady told me to go straight to the back. This was first time that I was acknowledged from time I signed in (20 minutes later). I went to the back and sat for another 5 minutes with no one checking on me to let me know how much longer it would be. I saw the same lady that told me to go to the back helping the woman that came AFTER me with her pedicure. I was annoyed at this point and just left. I don't know why the wait was so long because no one was communicating with me. I had already waited 20 minutes in the waiting room and another 5 in the back room JUST FOR A BROW WAX. I went to Amy's for the first time today and I loved it. I moved from NY here 2+ years ago and have visited numerous nail salons. Amy's by far has been the best. First of all they have removable plastics covers in the pedicure sinks. That is such a plus. Everyone from Dan to Tina was so friendly. I highly recommend this place.
