Really! The woman took off a quarter of an inch and charged me $50. I wanted two inches. She told me to comeback when she had more time.

My first experience at Amy's made a lasting impression. I visited the salon to get an updo for my cousin's wedding. My hair is shoulder-length and somewhat fine, so I wasn't sure if it could hold an updo. Laura worked her magic on me, and the results were stunning! If I lived near Amy's and not in Florida, I'd be a regular customer. The bridal party hair and makeup (Thank you, Suzy!) at Amy's was so much fun and a great way to kick off the bride's day! I love Amy's so much! I took me six years to find a salon I truly love. I've never had a haircut or color from any of the stylists I didn't absolutely adore. Amy, Laura, and Anna are funny, talented, and kind. Even my two-year-old and six-year-old boys love going here. Also, Amy has the most beautiful glitter wall I've ever seen. You have to check out the salon just to see it. They did it by hand! It's not wallpaper! Talk to Laura about her famous Halloween house. If you live in the area, you've seen it! Best salon ever. My highlights always look natural and soft. I enjoy my time here and feel like I'm spending time with friends. It's a fun place to go. Also, Amy has a wonder bike charity. I visited with a groupon for a petite facial and an eyebrow wax. I had a hard time finding the place since my GPS said it was at a corner and it was east of that. It's east of Westmore and west of Addison Road in a strip mall. If you drive by the self serve car wash, you have gone too far. I got there a few minutes early and was greeted and I was the only customer in the place. I got a clipboard with a form to fill out about my face and some other questions. There were lots of personal questions on that form and by the time I finished, I was surprised that they didn't ask for my blood type! I don't know what the point of that was since Jodi never talked about the products or what would be best for me. The facial was great and my eyebrows look great. It was very relaxing and Jodi did a great job taking care of me. The whole process was about 45 minutes. The room I was in was set off from the hustle and bustle of the (empty) salon and it was very tranquil. I guess I was hoping for a bit more personalized service. I filled out the form on the clipboard after all, so it would have been nice to hear some recommendations. It was nice that she didn't push any products, but it would have been ok to mention them or give me some general skin care tips. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I felt like I got what I paid for and nothing else. Don't get me wrong, Jodi was great and I tipped her well, but I don't know if I'm destined to return. read more

Once again, Amy does not disappoint! I've/we've been going there for over 20 years, and it still has it's small town feel with excellent service - and beautiful results !! I'm so happy to have tried Amy's salon today! For months now (for budget reasons) I've been going to franchises and coming out disappointed. Anna was able to fit me in at the last minute and corrected a previous haircut. She was highly skilled, unpretentious and easy to talk to. I appreciate that Anna talked me through her approach and sought my consent; nothing like my last haircut experience. Now my hair looks better than it has in over a year! Cost-wise, the price was right in the middle of what haircuts are going for. I won't be compromising any more...this is the salon for me. read more

For financial reasons I do NOT pamper myself much, but when I do it is a mani OR a pedi. I have given up pedicures so that I can do my manicures with Jodi. She is awesome, both professionally and on a personal level. Gotta say that this upsets my daughter as I used to go with her when I could to a spa closer to our homes..Not anymore, I tried Amy's about 3 months ago while visiting a friend in Lombard. Now an hour from home I try to squeeze in a mani with Jodi when I visit. I've never used the hairstyling services, but observation as I sit there is that the stylists do an awesome job.
