I've been a little insecure lately about my sudden scalp psoriasis and eczema around my neck, but Bree was really understanding and helpful which is super important to me. She recommended a hydrating and scalp treatment after we went over my wants and needs, the wash and scalp massage were so relaxing. Saturday 10/30/21 was my 1st time at this salon and I've never had a haircut so bad in my life. I asked for a trim at the ends after my color but I received a chopped cut that looks like it was blunt chopped with Kitchen scissors. I spent $210 plus a tip for 3 hours and a haircut that needs to be fixed now!! The color is nothing of what I asked for and there ZERO EXCUSE because I haven't had my hair done with color or bleach in a year! I'm extremely upset and waiting a call back from the owner! Such a great experience! My last hairstylist went on maternity leave, and I decided it was a good time to find a place that I loved - not just liked. I didn't have to look for long! I have a penchant for Aveda salons, but this is one of the best that I've been to - the scalp massage! The hand massage while my hair was getting blown out! It was like I died and went to heaven. Not to mention my stylist, Jessica, was the sweetest thing. She asked a ton of questions to get to know me and my hair better, and showed me what products she was using without it feeling like she was pushing products on me (because that's the worst). I've been adrift in the hairdresser area for about a year and randomly stumbled upon C'zar Salon. I had been with my previous hairdresser for over ten years and finding a new one was difficult. No one seemed to understand my hair (it's pretty thick and straight) and the haircuts always seemed to be way off. I met with Jess and explained what I was thinking for my hair and some of the growing out issues I had been having (pixies are a pain to grow out) and she came up with a game plan that made sense for my hair and it's been a dream ever since! I'm no longer anxious going into the salon figuring out how to grow out the next strange haircut I'll get. Jess is very calming, kind, and considerate when discussing your hairstyle. Eric is really fantastic. Very talented stylist. Very cool with his combat boots and his tool belt to hold his styling tools. A great choice for anybody, but I imagine he has women lined up to see him. I've never seen him be anything but smiling. --Even when I sat near his customer who would not stop droning on and on about her vacation, making him look at a million of her pics. He didn't flinch. I on the other hand wanted to ask her why she hated us all so much and to put the iPad away. ;) A beautiful Aveda salon and day spa in downtown Naper. The ladies at the appointment desk friendly and welcoming. Located directly across from the Naperville Public Library, parking is not ideal. Parallel parking all down the street or a small lot around the corner. I'm sure some try to sneak a spot at the library but some of those spots have 2 hr time limits which is pushing it for a salon visit for a female. Park there at your own risk. ;) read more

So, I went to the old location looong ago, but didn't return because of the noise issue (the massage/facials rooms were barely separated from the salon, with no sound barrier = no relaxation when you can hear all the raucous noise from the salon). But they moved recently, to a big old house on Jefferson, and since I love Aveda products (which they use), I figured it was a good time to give them another shot. I was a little nervous because the salon area (when you first walk in) is really LOUD! Also, I was kind of left hanging when I went to check in and the receptionist walked away. The whole beginning of the experience was a little discombobulating, which made me anxious. Gladly, that dissipated when I was collected by my aesthetician, Laura. We went upstairs, where it is blessedly QUIET! The new building has clearly killed off the noise problem! Hurrah! (oops, sorry...*whispers* hurrah) She tamed my anxiety with an initial hand massage while discussing the issues I have skin wise and then went to work. The experience was very relaxing, and even the extractions (i.e. getting the gunk out of your clogged pores, ick) was barely noticeable, so she has some kind of great technique going on there. The only negative I will say (as with anything downtown) is parking. The spa itself has a couple of spots wedged in behind it, if they are free, and there is a city lot in front of the library, if you can find one available there, plus street parking, but it's usually pretty crazy right at that particular corner. Don't forget the parking garage a block away. Depending on what you find, you'll have a 1 to 3 hour block of time (and they do monitor parking downtown!) Overall, though, this is a much preferable location for all your aesthetic and Aveda needs! See you at C'zar! read more

I have never had an experience like I had today in an upscale salon with upscale prices. Brought in a picture on my phone for a color service, left yesterday worse than I came in and was nothing like the picture. Stylist was making excuses about "what we talked about" but told me to come back again the next day to fix it. Came back the next day; stylist took 20 minutes to rant and rave about what we "talked about" the day prior, as I held the picture of what I wanted on my phone, she went on and on and on. Finally I asked her not to be combative, which she was (clearly didn't want to fix my hair OR, bother to do it again and not charging me twice). I asked her to listen to what I was trying to tell her, but she kept talking over me. I am a former hairdresser, she clearly doesn't know what she is doing. She was very rude, very LOUD and her actions were uncalled for. I live in the downtown Naperville area and know a lot of people, not a good move for the way I was treated by her. I ended up leaving without my hair being fixed. They did refund my money (clearly looked nothing like what I wanted), but I left with it being worse than when I came in. RUN .. this should have been handled much differently. The owner of the salon will also be getting notified. It was that bad. read more

The building is an adorable old house in quaint downtown Naperville. I had a lovely facial experience with Dawn! The products they use have a nice, calming fragrance. I felt just enough clean tingle on my face. Dawn was great about checking temperature, comfort level, etc. I walked away with a bright, shiny new face and great tone on my skin. I went yesterday to this salon for a touch up, and it does not look good. I been in this salon couple of times. My hair lately is been very rebel not sure if coming here have aggravated the problem first 6 weeks ago with all over color to cover the faded highlighs and yesterday to do a touch up and leave the faded highlights to run its course the thecnician Jen Marie recommended the ends a clear gloss to give shine and smooth the hair. I just cannot help myself to see my hair even in a worse shape that yesterday I do not know what this person did in my hair but it looks like I went to see a beauty student in a third cathegory school. I feel so sorry I do not know what to do how frizz my hair looks like for paying $95.00 WoW, I want to point out she left the gloss and the color for almost 2 hours. This is probably my favorite salon ever! My sister had us get our hair done there before her wedding. We all got a private room upstairs to get ready and it was so cute and nice. I weirdly got a random back spasm. Since there is a spa, someone came to give me a quick 20 minute massage and seriously saved the day. I wasn't sure I would be able to breathe!! I then returned to get balayage highlights done, and they were so beautiful. I was extremely happy and now live in the city, so I am sad I can't go there anymore. I have been going to see Debbie for several years now, but unfortunately will not be going back. :( The Good: Debbie is great at what she does! She takes her time to talk with you and makes excellent suggestions for what color or cut would look best. Also, she is a great person to talk with during the cut. I even went to them for my wedding and my girls and I all looked great!!! The Bad: Lately, every time I have gone to the salon, they have been running 30 to 60 minutes late. Then, in order to get to the next person after you, she passes you off to anyone who is free to dry your hair. I travel to get to Naperville, always arrive on time, and then felt like I was being pushed off. I'm not sure if they are not leaving enough time to finish appointments or why Debbie is always late, but for the price I pay, I expected my stylist to finish my hair. I hope they improve their service and timing. It's really hard to continue going somewhere that expensive that is always so far behind. read more

I originally went to this spa for the zero gravity pedicure. It was well worth every penny and was just an amazing experience. I recommend it highly! For this, they get 5 stars. Then, I thought I would treat myself to a really professional haircut, so I made an appointment and was told up front that it would cost $70. Which would have been fine, if only ..... I am 67 years old, and this was the second-worst haircut of my life. The young woman (can't remember her name) cut my short hair with a straight razor, and left big chunks of hair missing. When I went to another hair stylist to get it fixed, she tried to work around the holes, and said I would need to let it grow out and have it re-cut. Well, it's been over two months, and I can finally go and get my hair re-styled. Zero stars! I did fill out a review that Czar emailed to me, and honestly answered their questionnaire. The manager then emailed me back and offered to have me come back in and 'be taught how to work with my hair.' No thanks. I'll just go and get a nice haircut for 1/3 of the price. The sad thing is that I could never bring myself to go back there, so I'll be missing the fabulous pedicures. read more

But when I decided that I wanted a little color in my hair Evonne recommended both Jessica and Colleen. They both rose to the occasion on separate visits, leaving me happy, with some purple hair. C'zar is not inexpensive, but it is worth every penny. And the Aveda products are the best! read more

I first went to C'zar to get a horrible haircut fixed. Instead of telling me that I had to cut my hair shorter, my hairdresser said she could work to make it look better without losing too much of the length. She made it look amazing and I kept going back. Once she left for maternity leave, she highly recommended Haley. She is just as amazing! Always friendly and does the best job. I salon itself makes you feel welcomed every time and definitely caters towards your every need. I just love the atmosphere of the Naperville location. read more

This place is a joke! I walked in and explicitly explained I was seeking their finest men's stylist. They showed me their "barber shop" and explained they had 2 men's groomers, one a master stylist and another a jr stylist who was more economical. I explained I wanted the one w the most experience and set up an appointment. I commuted 45 min to be there on time and 15 min prior to appointment was called and told that the sr stylist didn't accept new appointments and I was being shifted to the junior stylist. I was already willing to pay 20$ more for the perfect cut yet feel incredibly incensed that their business policy is to treat new clientele as second class citizens. At least that's how I feel, a crock of shit for sure! They just lost a loyal customer and if your new and seeking a fine hair cut, avoid their insulting policy's, it's NOT WORTH THE TRIP! read more

This was my first time visiting the salon and I was very impressed! The staff was all very friendly and very concerned with my well being. I was offered both a beverage and a snack upon arrival. I have been to a few Aveda salons and have yet to have this good of an overall experience. This was also my first time getting my hair dyed so I was nervous about the while thing in general. I went for an ombré look, and Katie did a phenomenal job! I was very very pleased! The only complaint I have, hence why I have it a score of 4, is that it was way more money than I expected. I have never gotten my hair dyed before, so I guess I didn't know what to fully expect, but when the last checking me out told me that the bill was $115 without tip I was shocked. I literally only got ombré and a blow out... No cut or style. So I was shocked to say the least. But it was an overall great experience and I will definitely go back to Katie for my next hair cut and ombré! read more
