We hired Massis over other electrical contractors because he provided us with excellent ideas/solutions and reasonable estimate. He came highly recommended by our building contractor when we remodeled our kitchen in 2009. As he is an independent contractor, he fully concentrated on our kitchen project so he could complete his work on schedule; additionally, he frequently informed us of potential issues -- which we greatly appreciated. Mar, 2010 Our home was built in 1929 and it badly needed electrical updating. We had a great experience working with Massis on our kitchen remodeling, we decided to update our electrical system on the rest of the house following our kitchen remodel. He basically rewired our entire house and installed many in/outdoor plugs and switches so to simplify our lives. In addition, he creatively converted our poorly functioning solar garden lighting into electrical units. He also added additional jacks and computer wiring in different rooms. It was not unusual to find him working long hours so to accommodate other contractors and/or our timelines. Oct, 2012 We asked Massis to return and install deck lighting. A month earlier, he evaluated and recommended certain type of lighting fixtures and discussed on how he would discretely hide the wiring. They were amazing from start-to-finish--super friendly (seriously), extremely professional, and very fairly priced. They're both extremely good at explaining things--they noticed I had an interest in their craft, and gave me a shout whenever they were about to make a decision on part of the project. Despite being heavily booked, Massis also very kindly took into account a family emergency that occurred on our original booked date, and fit me in quickly right afterwards. An excellent outcome, great personalities, quick adaptable folks but also thorough and effective , I had first thought I was just getting a quick survey and bid. Since I had already emailed a detailed plan, Massis arrived, assessed the requirements, then on the spot gave me a competitive bid and when his co-worker arrived was ready to get started. I was looking to have both an EV charging circuit inside our garage and a pair of outside carriage light boxes installed. The solution included a compete sub panel from the mains to cover heavy power requirements for the EV and AC circuits and the carriage light mounts required drilling through brick. Massis noticed I had an extension cable powering a security camera (which also doubles for holiday lights). He recommended installing a circuit from the new sub-panel to a GFI protected exterior weather shielded outlet for a very reasonable additional cost.The finished installations were immaculate and any access holes neatly cleaned up. It is heartening to find professionals with such as Massis and his team. I will certainly plan to call on their services for any future electrical work we need. read more

Called AMZ Electric in the morning and spoke to Massis. After explaining my situation he told me he could send someone out same day at 5pm to diagnose the problem. He was very up front with me on the phone that he was basically booked for the next couple weeks for any major jobs. If my issue was minor then they'd be able to fix it same day. Since their business hours are from 9-5 I was actually waiting for a call from them to reschedule, but to my surprise they showed up on time as stated. After about 1.5 hours they were able to identify the problem with my AC electrical line and fix it. Now my AC is back up and running. Thank you so much to AMZ Electric. read more

If you're looking for an electrician/ handy man... Massis knows what he is doing. He not only knows how to do things the right/safe way, but he's a very pleasant person to work with. Story: I had originally hired a handy man to install a motion censor light for my condo, but instead, what he did was put an off-balanced hole in the front of my home. The "new" motion censor he had bought from Home Depot was also broken... it was such a nightmare, coming home from a long day of work to a HOLE and having to pay for it. Then I met Massis through a referral and he was a total saving grace. He usually has a schedule (and you usually need to make an appointment in advance), but when he heard there was a hole in the front of my home, he shared my concern about the rain and how it will damage the property exponentially. After we talked, he rushed to my place and helped me correctly install the motion censor that I wanted. If I could rate his job, it would be A+++++ If you don't want to waste your time testing other handy men... just got to Massis your first time and he will deliver. He charges $75/hour but for him to get things done QUICKLY and RIGHT, it is freaking priceless. This is the 2nd time I've used Massis with AMZ Electric. We had 2 electrical outlets in our backyard that hadn't been working for at least a year (I suspect 2 years but my husband won't admit to 2). Anyway, I let it go because I figured the backyard was my husband's domain and he'd eventually take care of it. I've used Massis for several electrical projects in my home. I simply cannot recommend him enough. He's a perfectionist! He will not leave until the job is done right. For example, he installed one ceiling fan and thought that the motor sounded defective. He called the manufacturer and convinced them to send a new motor. Despite being booked out for months, he came back to replaced the motor as soon as it arrived. We just bought a new house and hired Massis and Trevor to make some electrical fixes and upgrades over two days. They installed 10 recessed lights which required running power lines through drilled holes in joists and amazingly they were able to avoid cutting ceiling drywall other than what was needed. I called AMZ because I had a bunch of outlets that weren't working. I always try to call somebody local. AMZ was my first call because he was #1 rated in Yelp. Well it turned out to be well deserved. Massis answered the phone and said text me your address and I will be there as soon as I can. He arrived in 15 minutes. How often does that happen? Unfortunately it took him awhile to find the problem. He even called his associate to come help. I don't blame them for struggling. Finally after almost giving up they found a bad outlet in the garage behind a refrigerator and fixed the problem. He only charged $200 with no upfront service fee. How can you complain about somebody who is prompt, friendly, and reasonably priced. AMZ is my first call if there is another problem. read more
