Great library and perfect for kids / toddlers. I loved how they have so many little toys and puzzles for them. I love the outside area too. However, it would be nice if once in a while stuff could be cleaned because there was a lot of things that were dirty especially outside. The play house was filled with dirt and dust. I know it's hard to keep stuff clean... but children get sick due to poor cleaning. read more

I love this library. However: the wifi is TERRIBLE. I'm writing this review as I wait for my webpage to load. It's been over a minute of watching the little loading circle. It makes it almost impossible to work here unless you have a lot of patience and a lot of time to kill. I'll be going to another branch in the future. This is my neighborhood library, and I practically grew up in here. My mom and my brother would spend so much time here, thus my review will be biased due to the nostalgia. As a college student, I still come here to study and focus on my work. The library is a perfect place to settle down and start studying!! It is not too loud, unless there are children nearby but there's not much you can do. The wifi has gotten a bit spotty, so that is one thing to note. They have a good selection of books, but if you can't find a book you would like you can request it to be sent from the other branches to this one. Parking is always available, but be aware that many high school students come here to get picked up after school, so there might be traffic during those times. The staff is very welcoming and they always decorate during festive times. Although it has some rough patches, you can't hate this library because you know it will always welcome you and that there is always a place for you to study, read a book, or learn! They also hold events at this library, but due to COVID it is not as frequent as it used to be which is reasonable. To add, they have two outdoor spaces and from the main one to the side of the library has a beautiful view of Yorba Linda area and the mountains. I always like to get some fresh air or eat a snack outside during my study breaks. read more

It's almost the perfect little community library. There's plenty of comfortable places to study. The selection of materials is good. There's a very serviceable internet connection. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I'm taking off a star because the librarians are quite noisy. Even as I'm typing, one librarian's laughter is echoing throughout the building. Yes they have to communicate with patrons. However the banter between workers and the use of "outside " voices in a library is distracting and at times annoying. read more

I love the location of this library. It's nestled in the nook of a hill just far enough off the 91 freeway to make it a hideaway from the hustle and bustle. I love the window into the trees and grass just next to the library. I can't really describe why, but this is the library for me. read more

This library is actually in Anaheim Hills...so it's about 8 miles from my house (even though I live in Anaheim)...weird. I found 4 books I have been meaning to read so I was pleased. It's much nicer than Sunkist Library near my house...'cause I live in poor Anaheim and the city doesn't spend it's money in poor Anaheim. The library was built in 1981 so it has that early 80's modern "American Gigolo" tinge to it...which is cool! The only thing that sucks about this place is that it's closed on the weekends! What is the point of having a library if you can't go on at least a Saturday? Minus 1 star. read more

If you have kids, this is a good place to take them when it's a holiday. I've taken my children here during easter and halloween. It's much better then taking them to super crowded malls or community events. I used to go here when I was in high school at canyon high. But that was in the mid 90's. This library might be a bit dated on the outside, but they have so much to offer!! It's great that they have computer stations to work at with internet use and printing options. (Helped me out of HW jams with my children) They have reading programs, storytelling time, holiday activities, tons of books, dvds to rent, etc.., It's also a great place to go for some quiet or your children to do schoolwork. The librarians are very understanding, knowledgeable and helpful. My kids and I have been going here for years and we love it here. read more

This library is SO loud. And the librarians do nothing to monitor the noise. I was there for over 3 hours and observed kids running around and yelling; a baby pushing a step stool all around the place as it made noise; the library workers talking to one another. Call me old fashion, but libraries are supposed to be QUIET where people use hushed voices or WHISPER. It's a shame this library is so noisy because it has a not of nice features--comfy chairs, lots of tables, cubicles, etc. I will not be coming back, and if you are looking for a quiet place to read or do work I suggest you DO NOT go here. Yorba Linda library is much better. But they closed two hours earlier than this place, which is the only reason I came. read more

What a great resource ... Canyon Hills Library is a little gem quietly nestled off Nohl Ranch Road in Anaheim Hills. They have a sizable collection of the books that you would expect and then, of course, can tap into the combine Anaheim and Placentia library collections. They have a great collection of DVDs and we often stop by on the spur of the moment to find a classic (or a newer one) to watch on an inexpensive rental ($1-$2). One of the best features of this library is their significant collections of books in Chinese, Hangul, and Farsi. It was really a surprise to find these unique collections and if one of these is your first language you really ought to check it out. read more

Despite its age, this library has found ways to upgrade itself to meet the needs of modern day society. Back in the day, my friends and I used to hang out here after school is out. (There's a secret path -- well, not so secret to the students of CHS-- that is a shortcut to the library). It used to be a popular after school hang out place for HS students. I'm sure it still is. So, during the school year and in the afternoon, this library can get pretty rowdy with HS kids. Some other comments... super friendly and helpful librarians, easy parking, desktop computers for library patrons, wi-fi for those with laptops, pretty nice collection of DVDs for rent, copy machine (20 cents per copy), and some tables for studying (not a lot though). read more

I love their story times and highly recommend them! I never realized the library has classes and activities. The woman in charge of story time is great and I love watching the kids participate in the books and songs. I also appreciate that the library is open later than other libraries. And I still love the preorder books and pick up feature! read more

I love taking my 2 and 4 year old to this library. They really enjoy the kid section and many things are accessible to them. There are a few computers, puzzles, magnetic games, and small tables for little ones to read and play. We haven't been to many of the events, but we hear it's great. Very happy to have this place so nearby. read more

This is a wonderful branch for the Anaheim Library system. Friendly staff and now during COVID-19 sheltering in place, it has been a sanity saver. You are able to request books etc. on-line and drive over and pick-up! I use both the Anaheim and Yorba Linda Libraries and both allow this reserve and pick up service BUT Anaheim started earlier. Absolutely love love love getting a notice from them that my books are ready for pickup! Thank you City of Anaheim and your friendly staff. read more

Great facility. They have a group reading for kids in the mornings and the place is neatly organized. There are couches and blankets and pillows and it's overall a great place for some quiet time or simply to just relax. I've been coming here for a little while but so far it doesn't disappoint. There is a deck outside where you can go online as well or simply read a book and get a little view of the houses on the hills.. it's one of my favorite places to be. I'm so bummed about the children's library time. I love the books, songs etc from the librarian Catherine, but she doesn't have patience with the kids. Library time is about 20- 30 minutes, and 2-3 year olds cannot sit still for that long. She constantly is telling the kids to sit down, and if a child goes up to the book to see better she gets upset. She is NOT PATIENT nor friendly with the kids. I think someone more child oriented should be conducting circle time. read more

If I could give this library 0 stars, I would. The library staff lost a book I returned in the drop box and then forced me to replace the book for a new copy at cost. This is even after I showed the librarian there were the same amount of copies in the electronic catalogue as when I first looked for the book, and was batted away with, "oh that's got a different date stamp". Really? User be aware, if you use the drop box, they might lose it in the few meters from the drop box to the library and you'll be forced to pay for their incompetence. Go return at the desk and get a receipt. Also, the library staff could care less, I guess, as they are on taxpayer dollars, so don't expect anything but minimal customer service with a side of apathy. read more

A decent dependable wifi signal (unlike it's east canyon counterpart). It offers several seats with access to electrical outlets. The library does get crowded, especially after school and with it comes the noise. You will hear what Sally told Don about Theresa during trigonometry. A pencil might fall on the floor causing fits of giggles from the pubescent boys. The noise is usually tamed by the library staff. Seating isn't all too comfortable and it gets rather cold (even during the summer). Brush off that pea-coat. read more

I think this is the best library in the Anaheim system. The East Anaheim one is newer but it's a lot smaller and they don't have as many books or services. This library is very big with a lot of places to read quietly, hang out, or do some studying. The librarians are all very nice and helpful. They put on a lot of events, almost all of which are free, and they have many activities for kids. read more

Ok , so I got a library card I like the fact that computers are available for use. But when did the library start charging to rent movies ???? News to me wow or is it just in Anaheim hills lol well I was standing in line and they charged this lady because she helped her scan her daughters books, the librarian said there is a self scanner without charge my look puzzled boy the world is just changing. Everything about this library is fine, except the hours. It doesn't open until 11am. It used to open earlier but with budget cuts they shortened the hours. Well, now that there's money, the library should open earlier. It's a shame, reflecting on the cities priorities. read more

We have enjoyed using the Canyon Hills library for approximately 15 years. Sadly, our last 2 visits to this library were horrible and I don't want to ever return. Both instances involved clerks I have never seen before at the library. Maybe because they are new, they have not learned how to deal kindly and professionally while serving the public. A couple of weeks ago we wanted to check out a book we had on hold. My daughter was sick to her stomach; so we needed to make a quick exit. A 6 year old girl had a box of 50 children's books for her and her little brothers at the auto check out stand and was trying to check them out while her brothers were trying to take them from her. She was quite proud of her box of books. My daughter on the other hand feeling nauseated could not wait for the child to check out her 50 books. We went to the counter hoping they could waive their small .50 cent fee because the auto check was going to be occupied forever by a 6 year old child (whose mother was nowhere to be seen). They would not waive the fee. 50 cents is not too much to be mad about but I was irritated and said so as the clerk could see the auto checkout was very occupied. On the very next visit, at check out, lo and behold, there is a damaged book we returned previously that the library said we had to pay for. I agreed we had checked out the book but it had never been read because upon reading the first 2 pages, I deemed it inappropriate reading for my daughter. The damage to the book had not been done by us. I suggested they ask the previous user. The clerk said oh, well they could deny it as well so you have to pay. I seriously think the book had been damaged for some time but since I irritated the clerk the visit before she was on a mission to find a book we had checked out and have me replace it with a new one. I was very insulted by this clerk and her insinuation that we were lying. I do not appreciate their manipulations to subsidize book replacements. read more
