At 11 pm nurses came into my room to tell me I was going downstairs for emergency surgery and they would contact my wife. When I woke up next morning I had a hole in me as big as a coffee cup saucer. I also had colostomy bag attached to my waist. The surgeon that did the surgery on me, from what I understand now, probably saved my life. When the surgeon came in the next morning, he told me how close I was. He also assured me that I wouldn't live with on account of he could removed after the gapping hole closed up. After the the hole did heal, we started to reach out to that doctor to remove the colostomy bag. Crickets! Doctor would not even return my wife's, my home care, nurse or even my calls. We gave up on and got the names of two other doctors who do the procedure. My wife and I were so afraid to have to live with this thing for the rest of my life. It's Dr. I went to it told us how difficult the procedure was and the scar tissue was so bad from the surgery and on and on. Now we were terrified! Especially me. I didn't know if I could live with that thing and, was actually pretty sure I couldn't. Then we heard of DocSchultzel. We heard about his robotic surgery he did. We had to try. When we met him, it was amazing. Finally !! someone was optimistic. He wouldn't make any guarantees but for our conversation it was clear this was gonna be our guy. On the soft spoken side and he will definitely listen to your health complaints and then make an assessment. The staff is very friendly as well and the paperwork went smoothly and I didn't have to wait too long even though there were a lot of people in the waiting room. The wait time was average for a new patient I would say. I talked with Reddy at length about my digestive problems and pain I was having. He gave me an examination and said he wanted me to have both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Both would be performed on the same day which is good. After the exam we were taken into a room to watch a video on what to expect for the procedure. The anesthesiologist met with me explaining the medications he would b using to put me under for the procedure. Once in the surgery room. Dr Mayer explained the procedure and what might happen based on what he might find during the procedure. The anesthesiologist started the medication through my IV. Before he injected all the meds, I was out! 30 mins later I was awake and Dr Mayer explained how the procedure went. Within minutes after waking up I felt great w very little effects of the anesthesia and walked out and headed home. I highly recommend Dr Mayer and his staff!! I was in severe pain and repeatedly expressed that to Dr. Natasha Boydstun and Nurse Brenda. My pain was dismissed from the beginning. I was told to "just take Tylenol and ibuprofen" and that was the extent of their pain management plan. After receiving a tetanus shot (my first since 1998), I was told I would be sent home with basic bandaging supplies and Surgifoam for aftercare. They never gave it to me. Let me be clear: when someone is in severe pain and likely in shock, it is not their responsibility to remind medical staff to provide the supplies they themselves said they would give. That is basic follow-through and basic care. When my pain worsened, I called multiple times asking for help. Instead of addressing it, I was told I would need to go to the ER to be reevaluated for the same pain I had reported from the start. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no urgency. I have never felt so dismissed by a medical team in my life. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone seeking basic competent and compassionate care. Ironically, my pharmacist showed more compassion and concern than the medical team who treated me. She took the time to listen and speak to me kindly, something I never received at this urgent care. And honestly, after this experience, it's no surprise the ratings for this location are so low. I would NOT recommend being seen by either of those two medical so-called professionals to anyone in the community seeking urgent care.

Each call involved waiting on hold over 10 minutes listening to preprogrammed music. It's sad that the staff don't seem able to answer calls. The only option for callers is to leave a voice mail message and your call will be returned in 24 hours. I have an option through Scripps to talk with a scheduler and set an appointment which is preferable. As I recall the procedure went fairly well 10 years ago with the doctor and procedure staff doing a good job and exhibiting a good bedside manner. However, if you can't schedule an appointment it doesn't really matter how good the provider is.
