I came here for a massage during a solo mama getaway. It was just what I needed! I had some hot tea, got my naked self into a fuzzy robe, and met with the awesome Imani on a Sunday morning. Parking was FREE on a Sunday so take note! Imani was so kind and attentive. She led me through the aromatherapy process and I picked the aromatherapy oil to use for the massage. Overall a great experience! Next time I will book for a longer session because it was not enough time. Although I won't be able to see Imani anytime soon since I am visiting from out of town, it has inspired me to incorporate massage into my self-care treat/routine. I had a great virtual spa experience with Julie (owner) & Yelp friends via Zoom. I was able to give her a call, reserve a eye & hand mask over the phone & pop in to pick up. Julie was really personable and fun to chat with. I loved how she was fun and inviting as she walked us all through how to place the eye & hand masks on. We tried the Chill Mode (CBD) eye masks & Perfect Ten hand masks. Both were easy to do independently & were an affordable stay in spa experience. I loved the hand mask & how soft it made my hands feel & clean & bright my skin looked. The next day my eyes & hands were ready for the world. Julie let us know of all the precautions her staff will be implementing to keep clients safe and healthy as we navigate re-entering businesses due to Covid19. I recently participated in a virtual spa and wine event through Yelp and Ananya Spa Seattle managed the spa event. Julie Becker (spa owner) was the host and had everyone put on eye pads and also hand gloves which was filled with vitamins and natural oils. Both products were amazing! When I took my hands out of the gloves they felt brand new - super soft and moist. Julie was hilarious and full of energy - my wife and I had a great time. Julie recommended the foot peel and mask so we are going to try that next. Overall - for the products that Julie had us try, I was very satisfied and had a great experience (who can say bad things about spa treatment and wine right?). Julie mentioned that the spa just remodeled, has practices in place to keep customers and workers safe during the pandemic / reopening and is getting lots of calls for massage appointment. What an amazing experience. First time doing a cupping massage and I can't wait to try it again. The masseuse was informative and thorough. She had amazing hands with the right pressure. Plus, she was sure to ask what felt right and if I was comfortable. My facial also exceeded expectations. I purchased some at home facial products and night creams that I swear by and use daily. This was my first time getting a facial, and my boyfriend bought it for me as a bday present. He found Ananya through yelp. Everyone was super friendly and helpful! Lots of communication before the appointment, during and after. Make sure to come 15 min before your appointment time to change and fill out some paper work. They gave me instructions on where to change. The robes were nice and fuzzy , however the plus size robe that they grabbed for me, wasn't truly plus size. It felt more like an XL, and didn't full cover my legs when wrapped around me standing or sitting. I would suggest adding 3x and 4x. Kat was my esthetician, and she was amazing! She explained everything she was doing, and make recommendations without being pushy. The exfoliating burned a bit, but I have sensitive skin, and it was soothes later with the cold gels. Not going back. I have been doing hydra faisal for a while and it was the first time I scheduled with Ananya. Trust me it was a total rip off! I expected a premium service based on what I paid but I was really upset. (Let me give you an easy example without talking too many details, I had to use the restroom which they have only one, someone pooped and forgot how to use a flash, also the floor ( I am sure that wasn't water) was not clean...!!!!!!!) My group of 4 ladies came from out of town and we originally selected Ananya Spa because of the availability. We arrived on the dot of our appointment time at 10am. We were not notified once by email, text, or phone call that we needed to arrive 15 min earlier to complete two forms on a tablet (they only have 2-3 tablets so we have to take turns). All that time cut into our massage time. We paid for 50 minutes but really only received 30-35 minutes. I was the main point of contact as I made all the appointments for all 4 ladies, and I thought I made an error so I searched my email junk list and texts, but I really did not receive a single notification to arrive earlier. I think the communication is very poor and the front desk is not sympathetic, quite rude actually. I specifically asked on the phone if some of the ladies can change the massage type on the day of and they said it would be no problem at all. On the day of, they were not happy about it and wouldn't even provide a menu or list of which other massages were available, we had to scramble on our cell phone to figure out, which also unfortunately took into our massage time because they didn't explain that policy to us until 7 minutes in. It was an unpleasant experience, not the out of town relaxation we were hoping to receive. Recommend others to look elsewhere. read more

I went to Ananya spa for my birthday yesterday (9/1). The check in went well, I came 15 min early and was greeted by a very happy employee! I filled out the waiver and waited for my masseuse in the waiting area. Overall, my experience was wonderful. There were a few things that I would have corrected, especially for the price you pay here. 1. The room that was in felt like an office space with a bed in it. There was nothing relaxing about it and it made it hard for me to get relaxed. Maybe I just got a room that was new...but there was nothing special about it. 2. It was EXTREMELY hot. Not only in the building but the bed as well. Mix that with the hot towels used and it can cause uncomfortable sweating while someone is touching you. Super uncomfortable. 3. My massage wasn't a full 50 min. I followed all of the steps to arrive 15min early to avoid this being an issue. My masseuse came to get me at 4pm. After talking about add ons (which is super comfortable- I booked exactly what I wanted and felt obligated to add on some tropical lotion for 13$ that didn't do anything to enhance the experience) and get undress/ waiting for the masseuse to come in it was 10min after 4pm and my massage ended right at 4:50. It just stinks to get a 40min massage when you're paying the price for 50min. My masseuse was awesome and I would totally go back to her given different circumstances, but I'm bummed that I came here for my birthday and had this experience. I chose this spa based on the reviews and was hoping to be able to leave a similar one. read more

I stopped by Ananya Spa on a recent trip to Seattle. It's located in downtown so fairly easy to get to. Appointment and check in was very smooth. When my appointment was confirmed, I was asked for proof of vaccination that made me very relaxed about my visit . After check-in , you're taken to a changing room with lockers and given a robe and slippers to change into. I arrived atleast 20 minutes before my appointment so I had plenty of time to myself in this waiting lounge that had dim lights and relaxing music playing. I had an eyebrow wax with Julianne and a Coconut Milk and Honey Sugar Glow with Shaweh - both were amazing!! The wax was perfect and the sugar scrub was sooo relaxing. I loved chatting with both of them - they were so personable and went the extra mile. Will definitely make it back here if I'm in Seattle ! read more

After several days of pounding the pavement in our first visit to Seattle, I decided that a massage was the perfect remedy. Reviews for Ananya were very positive and--even better--it was just a half-mile from our hotel. I loved the ability to make the reservation easily on the website--something I really appreciated on a Sunday morning for a Monday appointment--and the text and phone confirmations were great. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, Christopher did a great job of getting at my trouble spots on my neck and shoulders. The massage room was very nice as was the locker room. Not being pushed into adding extra services was a nice touch as well. The only reason I can't give Ananya five stars is that in both the locker room and my massage room, a staff member entered--or attempted to enter--without knocking. That this has happened to other reviewers indicates that this is general practice and not an isolated incident, though why such a basic rule of massages isn't followed is odd and mildly disturbing. read more

Would have given this place zero star if I could. I booked the appointment within 24 hours of the appointment (the night before) but felt very sick the next morning. I called them that morning and was told their policy is to charge me 100% if I cancel within 24 hours. They mentioned the gift certificate option, where I still wouldn't be able to get any refund, but might be able to transfer to someone else since I do not live in WA. The customer service supervisor told me she could take me off the schedule temporarily to see if someone would take that spot and then I wouldn't need to pay. She said we could go from there and I agreed. Soon after the phone call that day I got tested positive for COVID. Didn't get any calls or emails and the day after that appointment I saw a charge on my bank account. I called them and asked about my gift certificate, and was told that now I couldn't even get a gift certificate because their staff didn't get paid for being there. I called ahead to let them know I was sick, which later turned out to be COVID. And they just wanted me to pay for everything as if I were at fault. We are in a pandemic and the way they are handling it is ridiculous. Do not recommend at all. read more

This place has a great welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. My only complaint is that the 50 minute massage we paid for was only 35 minutes long. We arrived right at 3pm, but because there was a couple being helped in the lobby when we arrived, and they only allow 2 people in the lobby at a time, we had to wait 10 minutes outside before getting checked in. It took another 5 minutes to get shown to the room, even though everything was already booked and pre-paid, etc. So, given that it was such a pricey massage, it's a bummer we couldn't get started right away. I definitely understand that these are all COVID protocols and should be respected, and next time we'll arrive 15 mins early should we need to wait to check in. All of that said, in the future, if would be great if the second person at the front desk could meet us outside to check us in - I would have definitely felt more valued as a customer! read more

I've been to Ananya Spa for the past 3 years and the service has been nothing short of excellent. However today that was not the case. Unfortunately, I was 2 mins late because my car had a flat tire and I had to Uber to the place of business. I received a text at 9:01 if I was still coming and when I walked in at 9:02 I was met by a very rude white female desk attendant with dreads. She told me that I couldn't put on my robe because I was late and I was taken aback by that because that has never happened to me at Spa Ananya. There have been several instances in which the spa has been running behind and I have been on time so I had to wait longer and I gave the spa grace that I was not given. The spa should give their desk attendants a lesson on cultural appropriation, microaggressions, and customer service before they berate their customers about being 2 mins late. I could see if I had been 15 minutes late but I was 2 minutes late and more than willing to have a shorter facial. The way I was communicated was not okay. Once we cleared up the miscommunication, I was able to put on my robe and have my facial but I was so taken aback and stressed that I couldn't enjoy the facial. A complete waste. I hope this was just a one-off but I was extremely disappointed. read more

I was in Seattle for just a few days and desperately needed a massage. I was squeezed in on a busy day and boy was I glad I was! The receptionist (a sweet young man who kindly charged my iPhone and placed my dinner leftovers in a refrigerator!) was friendly and professional. The lobby was very clean - the chairs are even sanitized after each use. The massage was wonderful - just the right combination of Swedish and a little deep tissue work. That's fine, but I wish they could've rescheduled the appointment to the same/similar time for next weekend to makeup for the cancellation. But they didn't offer that, saying they only have Friday afternoon available. Ananya Spa is a beautiful and relaxing spa located in Belltown. I came here for the Autumn massage/facial special and I came out of there feeling so refreshed and relaxed. They provide you with a locker for your belongings and a robe and slippers to get comfortable prior to your massage. You are then taken in to your room and are offered add-ons to your massage. I opted for the green apple back scrub and let me tell you... it was soooo good! I don't know about y'all, but I know we all have a hard time reaching spots on our back in the shower and this was perfect to remove all the dead skin from those spots we aren't able to get on our own. I also added a scalp massage and it was amazing! The massage itself was exceptional... I even thought my masseuse had 3 hands LOL I fell asleep because that's how relaxed I was. I then moved on to the facial and was curated my own cleansing mixture and was also given tips based on my skin type. In general, the staff was accommodating. However, I experienced an issue that frustrated me and I'm not sure I would be quick to visit again. I paid for a 50 minute Mana massage with CBD oil. After filling out the paperwork online with my allergies, I arrived at the spa and began my massage. It was only at this point that the massage therapist informed me that every one of their CBD oils was nut-based in some way. I was offered non-CBD apricot oil instead, which I accepted. Not only does having no nut-free CBD products seem like quite an oversight, but I would have liked to have been informed about this very common allergen included in all of their CBD oils beforehand so I could make a decision about whether that massage would be worth it at all. read more

She did a 50 mins massage, did not do the hot stone energy placements that i paid for and when asked, said she was booked only for 60 mins and asked me to discuss my issue with the front desk person. I had to wait 10 mins at the front desk to talk about this because they were on phone, which is understandable but undesirable. They accepted the mistake (the massgae therapist is new and hence some miscommunication) and charged me only for 60 mins and offered some freebie which I couldn't accept because I was really disappointed. I had experienced a few therapists, but after receiving the best massage to date by Catriona, I knew the wait would be worth it. Her schedule didn't always align with what I was looking for, but trust me it's worth pushing out a few more weeks if needed. Catriona's professionalism, hands, patience, sincere care, and overall presence as a therapist is something I hadn't experienced before. Every time I walked away with a new sense of calm, which in this day in age with busy and stressful jobs is a hard thing to come by. She ensures your needs and goals for every appointment are met, doing thoughtful check-ins throughout the appt to ensure you're still satisfied and happy with the treatment being received.
