This is a tough one to write because I have had good experiences in the past (have had facials, Botox and IPL done here before). I took a break during pregnancy for the most part, but then postpartum decided to get my skin care going again. I scheduled a consultation, then they cancelled on me a couple of hours before. Bummer, but no big deal. I had a consultation not long after with an esthetician who has treated me before. It went great then we scheduled my first facial. Well, again a few hours before my facial the front desk texts me that they have to cancel. Esthetician has an emergency. That was a bummer because I was getting the facial for an event the following evening. However, I had no clue what the emergency was and life happens. I reschedule. Then, the morning of my treatment I wake up with a scratchy throat (ended up being Covid). I call in to let them know I'm feeling sick, and the front desk responds, "we will grant it this time but next time we are charging you a late cancellation fee." So... next time I am sick I am incentivized to come in? And if I don't to protect myself and others then I get charged? This response frankly felt unfair, given how they cancelled on me last-minute twice (with no compensation, even 5% off your next treatment would have been nice) but then plan to hold me to a different standard. It has rubbed me the wrong way and unfortunately I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

I went to Alex Brown for Botox and filler and not only is she extremely friendly, she is excellent in her craft. Alex walks you through the whole process and makes you feel 1000% comfortable. She often made sure I was ok throughout the injections and let me know we can take breaks at any time - her thoughtfulness was appreciated! You can tell she is very passionate about her profession, which shows through her extraordinary work. We did filler to the jaw, cheeks, and chin and I'm OBSESSED with my results! .. and so are my sisters ;) We did Botox to my forehead, chin, and around my eyes. We did a mixture of cannulas and needles for the filler injections - it was my first time with a cannula and the discomfort was minimal. I would rate the discomfort of the whole process a 0.5 out of 10. Alex was efficient; so gentle; and communicated everything she was doing while I quietly kept my eyes closed - I appreciated her encouragement throughout the whole process. She informed me that my previous lip filler (a different injector at a different facility) had migrated and she educated the importance of dissolving the filler prior to injecting new filler and I love that she not only educated me on the why, but she also showed me the migration. After the facial injections, she was doing capillary refills to make sure no occlusions were occurring as a safety check - I appreciate that safety is a priority to Alex. Regarding laser hair removal, I can't say I've loved the results or the process at this location. I invested upwards of $3K on facial laser hair removal (LHR). I noticed softening and a decrease in the growth of the hair over 10 months, up until my last treatment when my hair actually grew more! (Not ideal). My diet and hormone panel (verified through recent blood work) hasn't changed. Overall, I feel the advice I've received about LHR was inconsistent across providers at this clinic regarding the strength of laser I should use and how many sessions I would need. I was told to keep making follow up appointments, (more money out of my pocket), despite the fact that each successive treatment seemed to be reversing my results. Which was not recorded or addressed. I'm disappointed in the results and consistency of the laser hair treatment process here and would have appreciated more guidance about what to do when LHR isn't working or the results have been reversed. Also, more consideration given regarding the negative effects of laser hair removal like dark scarring from folliculitis, and a follow-up treatment plan to address those issues for patients. read more

Never go to Shelley! She ruined my skin! I went in for a dermaglow facial and extractions. I have been struggling with acne and had had extractions done in the past, and thought this might be good self care. The extractions were extremely painful and I was crying. My skin was left raw. I should have spoken up because if the comedomes/pustules/blackheads are ready to be extracted it shouldn't hurt that bad. I now have severe hyperpigmentation/post inflammatory scarring that is going to take months to get rid of. I also have some broken capillaries now. I called Skinspirit to ask for a resolution, and they instead told me to email Shelley - who then told me that it was all already there and that she has been doing this for 19 years and I am wrong. I think I know what my skin looked like better than someone who saw me for an hour. This was the worst care, and Skinspirit handled it so poorly. Please save yourself and never book a facial with her. read more

I came here for a consultation to get familiarized with micro needling. This is my first time ever seeking out these skin-related services so I'm very green, a wee bit nervous. The aesthetician (not the nurse) was recommending a whole line of products that quickly added up to being over $500. I was prepared to spend money for micro needling but was shocked about the extra products that she highly recommended to augment the procedure. As I was probing and asking more questions, I could tell she was writing me off and was trying to move onto the next patient. I thought it was the norm of these skin spas - maybe every worker has to meet a quota and that's why there's this underlying rush. However I ended up getting micro needling elsewhere and the staff there was 1000% more approachable. Did not push product on me (but I did end up buying some of their recommendations because the aesthetician there is so kind and genuine I trusted her judgment). Man, I love this place. I've seen Libby for Botox -- she is FANTASTIC. She was my very first injector and I appreciate how patient and conservative she is. She'll never try to sell you more than you need and is much more focused on enhancing your natural beauty. She recently moved to the Midwest, but still comes back once a month to see patients. I also see the master esthetician herself, Reanne. She is seriously a goddess! My skin has never looked as good as it does when I leave her after my quarterly facials. She's also helping me prep for my wedding (my literal goal is "esthetician skin") with a medium grade peel, microneeeling and maybe some IPL (all still to come.) She gives fantastic product recommendations, but is never pushy. I've been using the products she's recommended for six months now and they have truly helped to even my skin tone, prevent aging and keep breakouts at bay. They also last FOREVER. I did Ultherapy at SkinSpirit University Village on November 2, and after the treatment the skin around my lower face turned red. I thought it would go away in a few days, but it only got worse and looked like it was burned badly. My skin got hard and started to peel, and I was really scared and worried and had to go to urgent care. The doctor didn't know why it happened, but said it could take months for my skin to get back to the original color, which is not what I expected as all! My skin tone before was even, and I was hoping to get my skin tightened a lifted, only to see it damaged and might leave a mark for a long time if not permanent. During my research and consultation, I was convinced that there's no significant down time for Ultherapy and even if there's redness, it should go away in a few days. But my affected skin area started to get darker and darker and took more than 2 weeks to just peel. After the peeling, the new skin is still red and the hyper-pigmentation make my skin tone look very uneven. It's like having egg-size dark birthmarks on my lower cheeks! I didn't expect this at all, and I had to cancel a TON of plans and it affected my work and social life, because I looked so bad and I don't want to scare people! During the time when skin got harder, I couldn't even talk or small normally. Even now, people can still find that area of skin look darker than other part, even after I put concealer on it. It makes feel sad and ugly now, especially after I go home and remove the makeup, and really wish this didn't happen and miss the days when my skin was good. Plus, now it's holiday season, and I had to make excuses to avoid friends and family :( , because my face can look really scary from a glimpse and I can tell people are looking at my face when I'm walking. Sometimes I even get scared by myself when I wake up and look into the mirror. That feeling sucks and I literally don't know how long will it get better, or if I'll recover completely... I'm giving 2 stars because the esthetician did what she could do during the service and my follow-up to give me a skin-bleach cream to help with hyper-pigmentation, so I think she already did her job. But unfortunately the skin-bleach cream also makes my skin red as it was really damaged, so I stopped using it and just let it heal slowly, and it could take a few weeks or even months, I don't know, nobody knows. As we discussed what caused this, the esthetician didn't really know what's the root cause, and the assumption is that I might be allergic to the numbing cream, as it can be quite strong and I do remember feeling my pulse around my mouth after being put on numbing cream. I never had it before so have no idea it could affect my face like this, and I'm disappointed that the clinic didn't include a procedure to test whether customers are allergic to the cream. I hope the clinic be more cautious about numbing cream and procedure and my accident could have been avoided and I don't need to suffer this much, and I really hope future customers won't experience what I have experienced if a simple step can help. I'd like to also advise other customers to be careful during consultation, because it's not just about Ultherapy; there are steps like numbing or other procedures that might have side effect and you should make sure you know everything about what's gonna be put on your face and are aware of the risk! It could also be caused by Ultherapy, maybe that's my skin's reaction on not being able to handle the heat. In theory it's only treating the deeper skin, but it's possible that the shallower part is affected, or it could be errors in the machine. I did more research and found that Ultherapy is FDA approved for treating neck, submental skin laxity and brow, but actually NOT for treating the face! There are a lot of Ultherapy horror stories online, one of them this: http://myultherapydamage.com. Please make sure you are fully informed and understand the risk. There are women with face tissue and nerve damaged, and now I'm just hoping the damage on me is just the skin... I do believe the clinic should be responsible for this accident on the missing procedure or machines, and I hope the clinic will make improvement so it won't happen to anyone else again. To be fair, the esthetician is a very lovely lady and there's only so much she can help including following up with me, and I can tell she felt truly sorry for what happened to my face and my life. But at the end of the day, nothing can really reduce pain from me, both physically and mentally; and what am I gonna do with the loss for both my personal life and professional life... read more

MO. NI. CAAAAAA!! I've seen Monica twice now, once for consultation and once for Botox & fillers. She is a rad chick. Super knowledgeable, relatable, and informative without being pushy. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do when I walked in for a consult and Monica took her time to go through every area of my face at the level of detail that I was comfortable with. Obviously I went in to have work done because I have flaws I'd like to improve, and luckily Monica has a very soft touch in how addresses these areas - honest but doesn't make you feel like a troll lmao.
