Anatolia is everything an Armenian/ Turkish cafe should be. It's authentic to the culture from the moment you walk in the door. The service, the ambiance, the flavor. Anatolia has it all. I was transported to another world having small conversations with the table next to us while enjoying the intimate atmosphere. We had the Manti, Zucchini pancakes, Turkish coffee, chocolate baklava, an Armenian semi- sweet wine, and an Armenian beer. All were absolutely amazing. My family and I attended this restaurant last night my granddaughter enjoyed the moist yummy falafel's and I had the shrimp which was so delightful The Shawarma was amazing. Tried to have lunch here at noon on a Thursday, but they were closed. There was a closed sign, but no sign with hours of operation. Their website said Anatolia would be open from 11-2. If they were closed because of an emergency or because they are out of business. there should have been a notice on the door. I was very disappointed. read more

Smaller restaurant locally owned and operated. I always have a fondness for non-chain places, and this was another pleasant experience. The owners were pleasant and friendly, and very outgoing. The food was good and the decor was pleasant. I had a lamb shank which was nice (could have used a bit more seasoning) and my wife had the chicken shawarma (a bit dry and overdone). Stopped for dinner on a Monday evening. Restaurant was empty at 6pm. Had drinks, apps and dinner. Pros: Friendly staff. Food came out fast. Ordered fried zucchini cakes - tasty but undercooked. Two entrees - Chicken Kabob and Chicken Shawarma. The side salad (field greens, shredded carrot w/light vinaigrette and vegetable of the day (zucchini, carrots and broccoli) served were very nice and tasty. Had white wine that was advertised as dry and it was. All in all, not too bad. Cons: Two employees working the front of house upon arrival were dressed to workout at the gym. The table had very dirty salt and pepper shakers and the bench seating was very worn out. The appetizer was undercooked. The entries in both cases lacked flavor and were underwhelming. The chicken kabob had the consistency of being cooked at least one day prior and given how fast it came out of the kitchen, was likely microwaved. The chicken shawarma was all dark meat (probably as it should be) but even given this was very, very bland. In this town, Monday is not an "eat out" night and likely not the best day to try this place. Overall, the food had some promise and we will try again. read more

We had a wonderful evening with a reservation for 8 on a Wednesday night - where a concert was happening nearby and we got a beautiful outdoor table! The food was delicious and we loved the staff who made excellent recommendations to help us pick just the right choices for each of us! Anatolias is a Turkish /greek restaurant. It has a lot of potential. I get the feeling that a lot of love and effort went into establishing this place but that has waned. The restaurant was dirty dust bunnies on the wall at eye level, dried food on the window frame, and scotch tape holding a picture in its frame are the things I could see right next to my table. The menu looks exciting but about half of the entrees were not available. I ordered chicken shawarma and hummus both were tasty. The wine was a Greek red and it was delicious. Wait staff was ok, I ordered a side of feta and it was forgotten, but she did check on me. The ambience was good minus the dirt and they have outside seating that looks amazing for summer time. It's a shame this could be an easy 4 star and possibly a 5 with some extra attention to detail. read more

This restaurant is a gem of hospitality, quality and true taste of Mediterranean, Armenian and Turkish cuisine. We keep coming back here when visiting our college students. Went here for a special occasion on 9/21/20 and I left feeling ripped off. My husband picked out this place due to a suggestion on Open Table. Place was empty when we arrived for our reservation, except for a table of three women who would NOT SHUT UP about not believing in Covid and talking about being anti-maskers. I know one survived cancer, where they go to church, about their kids, because they were SO loud. Onto the food. My husband ordered a glass of wine ($9) and an appetizer of cheese borek ($12.99) for us to share and our entrees. When a plate of 4 small, flavourless rolls came out as our appetizer, that set the tone for the whole meal. $12.99 for what we received, was very off-putting. I had a platter of manti in Athens, Greece and loved it. When I saw it was on the menu here, I had to order it for my entree. When it came out in a regular sized bowl, with no sides or anything, I was SHOCKED at how expensive it was - $24.99!!! It was also incredibly bland and no amount of salt that I added could save it. My husband had the lamb shwarma plate for $21.99 and frankly, again, these prices aren't justified for what he received. We finished it off with a dessert of baklava which were 3 1-inch squares for $8.99! While the service was fine, the food was bland and overpriced. The Qanonsense crazies squawking away at their table put me over the edge. I felt cheated out of celebrating my special occasion after this meal, especially because we flew all the way from Las Vegas, where we live, to celebrate. read more

Just had a delightful dinner. I highly recommend the trio mezzo plate and the lamb chops. Service was excellent.

Service: I made a quick appointment online for 4 the same night. When we arrived there was only one other table present. We were able to place our orders quickly, but there was quite a delay in getting our food after that. They accommodated the arrival of additional party members who came briefly for company and not to dine. Food: I had the mouhammara to start. It had gorgeous deep red and a decent spice, which paired nicely with the sweetness of the carrots. For main courses, we had the lamb shank, saksuka, manti, and the stuffed peppers. The lamb was average in flavor and texture. I think it could have used more seasoning and/or flavor. The same could be said of the other dishes. The eggplant in the saksuka was not mushy. The manti felt like eating Italian raviolis but with a creamier base. The stuffed peppers were fine but came in good portion size. Ambience: It was relatively empty on a Monday night, so it felt intimate with just my dining party. There were a few customers who arrived later who seemed to be regulars and were familiar with the staff. It was a generally comfortable environment. They have nice tableware to elevate the experience. Value: $153.71 for an appetizer, 4 main courses, and a glass of wine. Overall, more than I would have valued the experience. This wouldn't be the first place I recommend others, but if you want to try Armenian, Kurdish, or Turkish cuisine in the area, then this is the place. read more

My husband and I came for dinner. It is an attractive place and we were greeted and seated quickly. I ordered the Armenian rose which was ruby red, based on others reviews and it was delicious. My husband got a beer. I got the felafel plate which I thought was expensive at $20, and my husband got a salad, with additions. I believe it was the owner who waited on us, and she was lovely. We shared pistachio baclava for dessert. Good food and drink but be prepared to spend some money! read more

The food is good but the restaurant is not very clean. There is cobweb on furniture and on walls/windows. The furniture is dirty and very dusty and the tall black booths are all damaged. I thought restaurants get inspected but apparently not the dining area. However the appearance of the dining area makes you wonder on the cleanliness of the kitchen. The above is very surprising since the exterior looks nice and inviting. This is also disappointing for being in Williamsburg. Although the food is good, we will not be returning. read more

Right off the bat I have to say the food was delicious. The restaurant was clean and peaceful. That accounts for the two stars. I ordered the overnight lamb shank and was informed it wasn't ready. It turned out that it wasn't put on to cook until 2 PM. Okay, how about the octopus. Sorry, we don't have any. I had the chicken kebobs and my husband had chicken swarma. The server didn't refill our water glasses. We had purchased two vouchers online. The rules on the voucher were clear. One per person and two per table. The check they presented accounted for only voucher. We had it corrected. In addition they charged three percent for using a credit card. There was no notice given either written or verbal. Really disappointed in the service, it took FOREVER to get our food-- literally, it was over an hour and a half wait. We got the hummus for an appetizer and it wasn't anything special (needed salt). The waitress came over after we'd been waiting a half hour and said she couldn't recall what my husband ordered... When we reminded her it was the lamb shank she then said they were actually all out. We should have left then! We waited another 45 minutes for a measly plate of rice, salad, roasted veggies and small slab of beef. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what took so long! It was definitely awkward with the waitress but she didn't comp anything--in fact, they charged us for a refill of sprite (!!! $8) and sent us home with a piece of baklava for our inconvenience. In total (with tip) it was a $100 meal and definitely not worth the wait. read more

Sit inside or outside and everything is great. Rated a 5. Service was on point. Very nice, friendly and accommodating. Even made sure the little ones were happy while we ate. Rated a 5. Food, not our favorite. Grape leaves were good. The boreg wasn't a typical style but different and good. The falafel was horrible, it was tasteless mush that didn't even have the color or texture of a falafel. Our meals weren't bad, had the shish kafta plates we got were good. The boorma was good. Last Friday we went to one of our favorite restaurants. The best Babaganoush in the burg! We ordered the cold mezze trio: 2 orders of babaganoush and sarma (grape leaves with rice and spices). 10 out of 10 highly recommend. If you're adventurous and want to try something new this warm pita bread with homemade Babaganoush is perfect. For dinner, I had the beef kebobs which comes with rice and a salad. I sooo wanted to do what I could to support this place, since it's inception both here and at the Farmers Market. As a previous lamb producer, I LOVE to see it on the menu and am committed to patronize these places. I also love to see "ethnic" food options that extend beyond bar-b-que! However, Anatolia fails badly in terms of both service and food quality- not even close. The single server who was on duty disappeared and had to be tracked down to get a check after waiting for 40 minutes. Because I spent 20 years as a server myself through college and grad school, I will NEVER stiff a server, but this 20% tip was a real stretch when she had to ask me which wines I had ordered and also got our food order wrong. The lamb shank, regrettably, was tasteless and grey and obviously not freshly prepared. What a disappointment- honestly, I wanted to love this place. Bummer. read more

When I walked in I had pretty good expectations - the decor is lovely. Unfortunately, the awful service started right away. No one was at the front of the restaurant. I spotted the server through the window into the kitchen, smoking from her e-cigarette and chatting with the chef (isn't this against a health code?!) A table of two (the only other table there) said that it might take awhile to get a seat, but that the food was worth it. I wish they were right. After a couple of minutes the waitress finally looked out the window and noticed the three of us waiting for a table. We were immediately bussed to our table, and given menus, and shortly afterwards had our order taken. Then the waiting started. Keep in mind that there was only one other occupied table in the restaurant, and we were there around 1pm, prime lunch time. The other table already had their food. It took 30 minutes for the three of us to get our orders. And that was the last we saw of the waitress until she came to bus the table. No top-ups for our drinks, no checks to see if there were any problems with the food. So the food, how was it? Honestly, pretty bad. A falafel wrap with fries should be pretty exciting. It's something you might get as street food, and who's ever heard of bland street food? The one I got at Anatolia was mostly lettuce. A bit of hummus added some flavour, and there was maybe one squashed falafel in the whole thing. And the falafel itself was soggy. None of that crunch from a freshly fried falafel that makes it satisfying. The fries were painfully bland, and just came with a cup of ketchup. Shredded parsley does not make bland fries enjoyable. I ordered a glass of pomegranate tea to wash it all down. It was just water with grenadine. It would have been fine (although overpriced) if they had just thought to add some actual tea to the drink. The other two diners fared a bit better - apparently the shrimp was tasty, and the lamb shwarma wrap had more flavour (although it was dry). To add insult to injury, when we paid for the rather expensive lunch (around $60, no alcohol), we were given four options for tip: 18%, 20%, 25%, 30%. If you're asking for that high of a tip, your servers should be... at least present. Over the hour we spent at the restaurant, the waitress was in the front of the store maybe 3-5 minutes total. *Also, there's a little notice in the bottom of the menu saying that parties over 6 people will have an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. read more
