We had an appetizer plate, the falafel plate, the grilled veggie plate and Hunkar Begendi, everything was super flavorful, homemade and delicious. Wait staff was quick to offer service and our order quickly prepared. I have a deep love for shawarmas and once I saw a place near me opened and had shawarma on their menu, I had so much hope. Unfortunately, that hope quickly faded after the first bite. It wasn't bad or gross in any shape or form. The seasoning and the flavor was just not what I've come to love having eaten shawarmas all over the world. Grape leaves for appetizer were good as was the hummus. When this eatery was previously Sweet Dreams and Bella Bistro I was a regular. So when I entered I quickly saw nothing much has changed inside. Same tables and chairs, wall decor, bakery cases, etc. The difference was the colorful signs for Shibam, and television and menu boards showcasing the offerings. First of all the lentil soup on the menu was served in a large bowl with naan bread, with the soup exactly as I hoped. Warm, flavorful, mild spices. On the side I ordered zucchini pancakes, 3 deep fried little latke-like patties. Very tasty with accompanying tsaziki sauce. The two guys with me polished off a large mixed grill for two. One said the rice was incredible! They loved all the various meat offerings of chicken, lamb and beef. We shared a made in house Mediterranean dessert made with coconut and honey. Very sweet and served cold. Total was $58, very reasonable! When the server ran my card she bypassed gratuity so between us we gathered up cash for a tip. They had some fountain sodas available and some special drinks in a fridge. No tea of any kind available and normally I take off for that, but the food was so good I have to overlook that. They were out of cheese roll pastry, but given they were one of very few places open Labor Day being out of an item or two is understandable. They were doing some door dash type business and another couple came to dine in. What a great experience. My family and I are in town for a track meet. We are unfamiliar with the area and found this restaurant on Yelp. Great selection. We ordered family style to allow my husband, our son and I to share. 1 mixed grill for 3 1 whole branzino And we ordered a chicken shawarma wrap W/ fries I have to note each item was full of authentic flavor!! Everything was delicious. The host was friendly and attentive. The food was very appetizing, fresh off the fire, filling and over all we were happy we chose this restaurant. The restaurant was empty surprisingly because it checked all of our boxes. The open seating offers large family style seating or dining for smaller tables. I grabbed lunch here the other day. I tried the lentil soup and chicken shawarma meal. It comes with a grilled pita, but I didn't try it. They give a lot of rice. There were some tomato slices and a few carrots and peas in the rice. The chicken shawarma had decent flavor. The soup was not as flavorful as I'd hoped. I ended up pouring it over my shawarma and rice. They have some other meats so I might go back and try one of them. They have tables for seating. They also serve some Mediterranean pastries, like baklava. The young lady who took my order was kind. She answered my questions. It took awhile to get my food seeing as it was only chicken, rice, and soup. read more

The place was clean, and I received a warm greeting as soon as I walked in. I ordered two lamb gyros, which were quite good. They weren't the kebab slices I had expected; instead, they contained smaller cuts of meat. The wrap for the gyro seemed homemade and was delicious. So this is my first time here and I ordered the stuffed cabbage which I think was like $14 baba ghanoush which was also like eight dollars and the euro was like maybe $11. My total was about $38.74 and looking at the food. I'm not really impressed. The fries were skimp The stuffed cabbage was not what I expected. Only 4 pieces...I thought it would be like an entrée not a appetizer basically it was a little underwhelming the meat from the lamb euro was pretty good so I can't really complain with that, and fries were crispy but cold. Overpriced at $16.00 and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves! Ordered the gyro to go. The meat appeared as small rectangular cuts of something - didn't taste like lamb, and there wasn't a lot of it. Perhaps worked favorably. No tomatoes and just 2 pieces of wilted shredded lettuce that didn't appear to even be fresh. No sauce. Just slopped on the pita and served with seasoned fries. I told him the food was incredible and we were celebrating a birthday. He quickly returned with a fig dessert which was amazing as was the baklava. Large portions. First time here today. Ordered chicken schwarma with rice. The owner came out, he and the young woman at the front both welcomed me and chatted about the menu. It made for a nice atmosphere. The chicken was tender, and he brought an extra serving of tzatziki and hot sauces. The schwarma was in chunks instead of slices, which I am more used to, and it was a pleasant surprise because it looked like more lean chicken. So I didn't feel heavy after. Everything is Halal, they mentioned. It was a large portion of meat, so it costs a little more. I'd say it was worth it, you don't find food that good and fresh very often.
