While in the are with a coworker we stopped in for lunch... I selected this place because I was in the mood for Mediterranean food. The décor is interesting and looks like a Turkish market - Really nicely done! They weren't busy when we went in and our server immediately greeted us and let us sit where we wanted. He was great at taking care of us during our stay and explained the menu and the way they prepare food just perfectly! They had some very interesting and unique items on the menu, some I'd never even heard of before and that sounded very appetizing! I decided to go with kabob and selected an Adana Kabob, which is beef and a chicken shish kabob. The beef kebab was spiced nicely and tender, definitely not dry nor overcooked, which can be common with these thin style ground meat kabobs. The chicken was flavored nicely and very tender and moist. The rice was nice and had a decent flavor too. We also tried their hummus which was really good and it came with their homemade bread, rather than a pita bread. The bread was really good, very nicely done, tasty, and soft! Their hummus was flavored nicely and they had a spicy dip which had a great flavor too. To finish, we opted for some rice pudding and their Turkish coffee. The coffee was great! Advertising a brick oven pizza so I specifically asked for a nice charred pizza under notes comment. Didnt get that. It is what it is. Glanced in the back and didnt see a brick oven, could be wrong though. Kids meal looks nothing like photo posted. Ok i get it. Atakan was our server, and was so wonderful. We had hoped to have a gyro as it looked delicious, but alas that was a lunch only option. We had a few questions about the menu as we'd never been to a genuine Turkish restaurant and Atakan was so patient, explaining the various dishes, and even brought us a sample to try the various sauces. I ended up doing the Donner kebab, a house made lamb gyro with side salad, rice, and tzatziki sauce. Wow. Blown away by how great everything was. Great flavors, and a generous portion. My wife got the Kavurma kebab, the meat was delicious and the sauce an exotic Tracey full of flavors. I'll be uploading revised menu pictures as the menu has changed. The wait staff was courteous and quick to seat me, get me drinks and take my order. The guy explained the menu and answered my questions. The food was ok. The flavor was alright. The temperature was only slightly warmer than room temperature. The meat texture was firm, not tender as I've had at other Kebab restaurants. Their wine list is ok. It has something basic for most people. I was hoping for a better experience based on the 4 and 5 star reviews, but it came up short for me. I have been here twice and the food is how I remember from my time living turkey. The service is always good. There is Turkish music and videos on which is also normal in Turkey. The walls are beautifully decorated and you can always appreciate a plaice that uses table cloths. We got the Sigara Boregi which basically fried feta cheese. It was very good. Crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy. For my meal o got the Iskender Kebab, which thinly shaved doner meat on a tomato sauce with yogurt. The meat and sauce was amazing. The rice that accompanied most dishes is very light and a simple flavor. Very good. My son got the lamb shish and it was cooked perfectly. Very tender and tasty. My wife got the Kofte Kebab and it tasted like it was straight out of Turkey. The garden salad was good but they put salt on it so if you don't like that then it will overwhelm the salad. Don't let the strip mall location fool you or you'll miss out on some great food and hospitality. They were super accommodating to our 25 person robotics team visiting for a tournament. We were able to get reservations same day after a quick call to the restaurant. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I had the mixed grill and it was very good. I think between us we pretty much sampled the menu and everyone was happy with their meals. Know that this place is under new management and the prices have increased. The increased prices are on the website only. Those menus you received in the mail has the old prices and they do not honor them, new menus are being printed. Secondly I recommend going here when it is somewhat busy. Turkish food is cooked in large quantities and on a slow day (Monday - Thursday) there is a good chance your food has been sitting for a while unless you come in early. Lastly be careful on the online order prices that they offer you 15% off. Know that price is jacked up 15% of the regular menu price. Food was ok. Had the Adana Kebab and requested the sauce on the side because previous reviews indicate that they put too much on. Well in my case didn't receive sauce at all. With the Turkish Kebabs comes a choice of rice of bulgur, I had the bulgur. I was ok - had some veggies and tomato sauce in it. I guess that's were mine went. The kebab itself was pretty good. Came with a Turkish salad and Shawarma White Sauce and pita bread. I put mine all together on the pita and ate it like that - not bad! Overall I'm not convinced on this place just yet.
