Pretty cocktail- it was delicious too, I just can't remember which one it was!

Came to Anatolia for the first time recently for drinks and apps with a couple of my friends and it was great! I had the mixed app platter with lavash bread, cheese rolls and a cocktail (the name escapes me). The gigantic lavash and spreads were definitely the star of the show here! The bread is a perfect blend of soft and chewy with perfectly toasted bits, and the spreads were mouth watering. The haydari was our favorite, but they were all very good. We really enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio- the cool artifacts from the old train station are a great touch. The waitress was easy to chat with and knowledgeable... I'm not certain if this is a family-run business but that was the general vibe- warm and friendly with an obvious desire to share good eats. We don't have many Mediterranean places in the area, and Anatolia really fills that void nicely. I immediately came back the next day to buy a gift card for my dad for Father's Day. I think he will really enjoy it here too!

This is the second time I've been to Anatolia. Personally, I love Mediterranean. I took my mom and sister there. I wanted them to experience and enjoy lavash bread. They got the beef kabob and shrimp sauté. All excellent. I preferred the pistachio baklava. The Turkish cookies were tasty - a bit too sweet for me. It is in the old train station on the border of Maine and NH. The lighting is comfy and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The time between the meal and dessert was a bit delayed as our server seemed to forget about us. The first time I went there I ordered the falafel wrap -delish!

Had reservation for 7pm but we arrived early and our table was ready for sudden stop at 6pm. Apparently the earlier reservation canceled, so it was a luck~ seems like it's mostly a place with many reservations. This restaurant is in the back, down some stairs. An old train stop with many older signs and right by an old track (unsure if trains still pass by). Ordered hot Turkish tea as drinks. Warm and brewed consistently. Great pallets cleansers. Got the appetizer platter that comes with 4 samples or your choice. This was a master piece! Comes in bowl all inflated and got and water bigger then you'd expect. It was such an amazing sight. This could've been a meal and I'd leave full. The hummus selection was the best dip. The bread has a crispy outer layer, chewy soft center, and a mix of both on the edges. Can't stop but marvel at this great bread. Big fan! I got the chicken shish kebab was flavorful and tastes like freshly grilled on charcoal meat. This has been the best NH drive stop yet! Call and get your reservation and get some bread!

Super authentic Turkish spot Anatolia in Somersworth, NH, came highly recommended by a foodie group I'm in -- & I'm so glad I went! The menu & photos immediately caught my eye, & since I was in Maine for the weekend, I made the trip. Tucked behind a building near the train tracks, this hidden gem had the perfect ambiance. Yagmur behind the bar took great care of me and offered some amazing suggestions. I started with warm lavash bread (over a foot wide!) & hummus, then had the kofte kebab with rice & Turkish mashed potatoes -- everything was seasoned to perfection. I ended the meal with a traditional Turkish coffee, the perfect finish to an incredible meal. Definitely a must-visit!

The service was very nice and the food came fast. My husband got the Turkish ravioli and it was very flavorful, the yogurt sauce made it so creamy. And I got the vegetable flatbread, it was ok the sauce could had used more spice; I wasn't tasting much. The inside was so cool too, it was like a secret restaurant vibe, kind of felt hidden away.

My wife and I did start out with fried pickles for an appetizer which came out piping hot but lacked any seasoning or much flavor. Entree wise my wife got the loaded chicken nachos and I got the spicy chicken sandwich. My wife very much enjoyed the nachos and chicken, all cooked very well. The chicken sandwich was solid but in the world of many chicken sandwiches I have had a few that are more stand out. Overall though minimal complaints about the food, and I suspect their pizzas are outstanding. Our real complaint would come down to the service which really was a lack of service. A host sat us right away and it took minimal time to place orders for drinks and food. Also not an absurd amount of time waiting for drinks or food. It was the fact from the time we placed our food order we did not see our server again til we finished eating and waiting around 10 minutes after for a to-go box and check. It's been a very rare occurrence for us but the service experience truly made us feel invisible. Not a single time during eating did we get asked how our food was, if we needed anything additional. Mind you while they were not our server multiple workers walked by us many times taking care of other tables while we sat waiting for the check and also once we did want to pay our check as well. This was also at the point it really started to clear out and was by no means busy. We had tasty food but the lack of service really soured our experience. I would say if you want to check them out for their food it should be pretty good and hopefully your service is a better experience than ours!

Love the energy in the space and the staff are very friendly. Don't rush. Enjoy the experience from apps to dessert. It's worth it. Note: if you want the chicken they cook it fresh so it takes time. So plan ahead. But you can't go wrong. We love the carrots and also tried the fried mushrooms. Our serves recommended the bean salad but no pressure. We ordered it and it was so yummy. A hit. The mushrooms were lightly breaded and just were not what I was expecting. Thankfully because they weee awesome.. The main courses hit it out of the park. My cod dish was so flavorful and if I had bread might have cleaned the sauce off my plate. Ha ha the Lima beans were and unexpected delight. Beef was cooked to ordered and sliced to make it easy to enjoy. Both in the group were very happy. The pasta dish was perfect. Of course I didn't have it so I just sharing the comments from my mother in-law. She love it. The night was perfect. And I just love that the owners also visit tables and serve as well. Molly stopped by and offered the dessert menu which we were "just going to look." Well we ordered it all and it was great. The Key Lime square was out of this world. On if my favorites. The chocolate dish was a hit and a perfect end to our meal experience. Stop on down to South Berwick and grab a seat at the bar, high tops or a table. You won't regret it.

We started with the fried mushrooms, bone marrow, and kimchi fries. The fried mushrooms lived up to expectations, super flavorful and easily the highlight of the appetizers. The bone marrow was actually really delicious, but a bit awkward to eat, which kind of took away from the experience. The kimchi fries were honestly underwhelming. I was expecting actual kimchi, but it was more like kimchi powder. For entrées, we ordered the steak and the short ribs. The steak was really good and cooked well. The short ribs, however, had a little too much going on flavor-wise and didn't quite hit for me.
