If I shut the system off for a while and turned it back on, it would sometimes work again--but the problem was inconsistent and difficult to reproduce. What really impressed me was South Valley AC & Heating's commitment to making it right. They came back out three additional times as a courtesy to diagnose the problem. The first two visits were challenging because the compressor was working normally when they arrived, so there wasn't an obvious issue to find. On the third visit, they happened to arrive while the compressor was acting up, which allowed them to identify and fix the problem. I really appreciated that they stood behind their work and didn't give up just because the issue was intermittent. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure my AC was working properly before considering the job finished. It's easy to provide good service when the problem is obvious. It's much harder to stick with a customer through an intermittent issue, and that's exactly what South Valley AC & Heating did. My ancient AC unit needed full replacement, so I did my due diligence and started calling around to get bids from different companies (while sweating profusely). Right out the gate, Julio was absolutely awesome. He not only answered after hours, but he took the time to explain different questions I should be asking all of the contractors to make sure I'm getting the best warranty possible and the most complete service. That alone was above and beyond-- he didn't have to do that, but it goes to show that not only is he about educating and empowering consumers. . . but that he also knows his product and service is incredible enough to stand up to that level of scrutiny. After getting multiple bids from different highly ranked companies around the town, Great Dane HVAC provided the best warranty by a mile (literally about double the length of what many others were offering across multiple categories), but his quote was also very reasonable (and beat many of the competitors who were offering smaller units with less warranty for $2000+ more). All along the way, communication with Julio was awesome-- whether via calls, texts, or in person, Julio communicated everything promptly and was just generally awesome. Julio is awesome and I can't recommend Great Dane HVAC enough. They just left a little bit ago and my house is already back to a normal, refreshing temp. They've got lifetime customers now!

He quoted us the same exact unit, same warranty...apples to apples quote for thousands less than other company. He also could install the unit with in a week. Of course we went with him! They were late and then told me they couldn't get there until Monday, 5 days away. Insisting this needs taken care and can't wait. They finally showed up. First they told me I needed to expand my ductwork, that the unit was too much for the current set up. I said, you mean the unit you guys sold us? That was going to be around $17 grand. After getting past that nonsense he tells me it was going to cost $3800, minimum. Told monarch I was getting a second opinion, that's way too much money for a new unit. Called Lara's, they came the next morning and for $890 I had my ac back. Most of that was Freon. Both workers were very polite and had everything fixed and tidy in about an hour.
