After having my AC unit serviced by South Valley AC & Heating, I started experiencing an intermittent issue where the compressor would stop running while the indoor fan continued blowing warm air. If I shut the system off for a while and turned it back on, it would sometimes work again--but the problem was inconsistent and difficult to reproduce. What really impressed me was South Valley AC & Heating's commitment to making it right. They came back out three additional times as a courtesy to diagnose the problem. The first two visits were challenging because the compressor was working normally when they arrived, so there wasn't an obvious issue to find. On the third visit, they happened to arrive while the compressor was acting up, which allowed them to identify and fix the problem. I really appreciated that they stood behind their work and didn't give up just because the issue was intermittent. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely wanted to make sure my AC was working properly before considering the job finished. It's easy to provide good service when the problem is obvious. I hired South Valley AC & Heating to install a mini-split system in the house that I had recently bought. Not only did Chris and his crew do a fabulous job of the basic install, he handled a special request that ended up becoming a problem. Because I am electronically sensitive, I can't have Wi-Fi in my home since it literally makes me sick. Chris checked with Mitsubishi and was told that the system didn't use Wi-Fi, and we wrote that condition into our contract that there was no Wi-Fi. But once he installed the system, I checked with my RF meter and could tell from the measurements that it must have had Wi-Fi running. Chris had to fight with Mitsubishi to manage to get the right person who could finally tell him how to turn off the Wi-Fi. That was a life saver for me. read more

I contacted South Valley to address an issue with one of our HVAC units not heating because of the great reviews here on Yelp. The technician was on time, friendly, and honest. He waived the diagnostic fee because through the maintenance work on the unit he was able to determine that the unit was functioning properly but was dirty (which could have impacted the ability for the flame sensor to sense heat and turn on the blower) and needed some cleaning. The units ran normal. I was grateful for his honesty and not trying to upcharge me or replace unnecessary parts that other companies are notorious for doing. I have purchased the annual maintenance plan and I am excited to have them come out twice a year to keep our units in good shape. Thank you! read more

He was able to make it out the same afternoon. We discussed a few options and I decided to go with a new unit. They moved some things around to get me installed as quickly as possible which was greatly appreciated since it is July in Bakersfield. They finished the job today. The short review is this company is amazing, honest and competent. Now for the long review. My blower motor recently went out. I called the company that 3.5 years ago installed my AC unit. They told me that it would cost $10k for some duct work. I told them I only wanted the motor replaced under the 10 year warranty that it has. At first they refused to honor the warranty then informed that if they could get a motor, it would be $4k for installation. I basically told them to get out of my house. I decided I would remove and reinstall the motor myself. The only problem was, I couldn't find a replacement motor that worked with my unit. I looked on yelp for the highest reviewed AC company and found South Valley. I reached out to Chris at South Valley AC who responded immediately. He was able to get me a new motor, under warranty, for just a nominal charge. I was beyond pleased at his communication and professionalism. He even stated he could install the new motor at a price that i couldn't turn down. Just 2 days later, their tech. Jared was at my house installing my new blower motor and everything is working great. I'm completely impressed how South Valley operates. There was no trying to sell me things i didn't need or overcharging. There's a reason they have all 5 stars on yelp. Jared was a pleasant young man that was a joy to talk to. I'm in the middle of a kitchen renovation and needed an exposed air duct removed that was built into an upper cabinet. I contacted a couple of HVAC companies for a quote and South Valley was MUCH more reasonable compared to other quotes received. Chris and his son came out on a Wednesday to give me a quote, then arrived Friday to begin the work of removing air duct and add in new vents. I appreciated the prompt service, as we need to put up new drywall and had to wait until duct was removed. They both exceeded my expectations and did a wonderful job. We initially called South Valley to come out to our house to inspect our duct work because we have issues with airflow in a couple of rooms. They came out and inspected the unit and gave us a clean bill of health but they never checked the duct work. ‍ I asked the technician to check the pressuration but he only checked the temperature with his probe and not the airflow in only one register. So I called my home warranty insurance and they came out and told me that we have a microchannel leak and that we need a new unit. Completely different than what South Valley told me. How come they didn't pickup on this? read more

Out of town on a Saturday my roommate calls saying there's something wrong with the air conditioner house not cooling down at 3pm 114 outside found South valley on Yelp called technician answered listened told me he couldn't get me an appointment till Sunday morning said ok couldn't believe the price he quoted me to come out on a emergency call out on a weekend said no problem I understand being busy I'm.
