First time back in a while and I hate to say I don't love the dining room changes. The waiting area for to go orders is very small. The stressed conversation of an understaffed open kitchen makes for a very awkward wait. We ordered the cheesey bacon tots and they were served covered with liquid cheese in a cardboard box. Being from the area, we try to get to Anchor every time we are back. I usually get an Italian but decided to branch out and get the sausage hoagie. Holy $#!* was it good! I got a 6" and let me tell you it was 6" plus. Everything about it was to notch. My wife gets the meatball and same deal. The quality from the meats to the cheese, to the hoagie roll is very good. The homemade chips are fantastic, especially with the cheese sauce. The service is great and you can tell they take pride in everything they do. This place absolutely blows all of the chains out of the water and even some of the other mom and pops in the area. Lowkey spot to grab a bite to eat, they have a smaller space with a few tables and a full bar. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Let me start by saying the hoagies are good the fries are good. BUT, if you are looking for a triangle bar hoagie this is not it ONLY by means of quantity. You will get a lot more meat at the triangle. I will say the staff is very friendly. The sandwiches are pretty much priced the same as triangle so that was a little disappointing. Solid local bar/restaurant, last time I was there they was a hoagie shop, they have expanded area and have a moderate size bar area in back with 2 large TVs over the bar. They have a solid line up of hot and cold hoagies. This time I was on my way home and wanted to pick up a quick lunch, and I picked their Italian hoagie. Service was fast and friendly, actually quicker than if I had gone to a chain sandwich store for lunch. And as a bonus this is a veteran owned business. This time I had the Italian, it was good, decent ration to bread, meat, and veggies, and seasoned oil and vinegar; this was a plus. With the speed and efficiency with which I got my order I will definitely go here when in the area over some fast food chains. And with their hot, cold, and specialty sandwiches you have something for everyone. I will definitely be back, maybe later in the day and try the bar during a game. They also have a brand new bar which, for whatever reason isn't busy whenever I'm in. It's probably just an advertising thing. Appreciate the feedback from the owner, but still don't understand the faulty online order system. The menu specifically states what exactly comes on the sandwich. See attached photo. My lord, this place is amazing! The homemade fries, with the Cajun seasoning, are the die for. These fries I think are better than the sacred potato patch fries from kennywood. You got to get the cheese sauce with these fries too, well worth the extra cost. Decided to split the Kurts Special with my wife and I was happy we did so. You have to like spicy sandwiches since it comes with fried jalapeños, but I'm sure you could ask for none if you're a baby. Any way, this sandwich was incredible! So many good flavors in each and every bite. Highly recommend if you want to share a sandwich with someone or if you are super hungry. The staff was super friendly also, feel I need to mention that since some people only want to go to places where the staff kill you with friendliness. What more can I say? The inside is very clean and lovely. They had a huge plexiglass divider between the counter and the customer, and employees were wearing masks (even though at this point I don't feel they really have to). Masks not required for entry. I got a 12" Italian hoagie, a 6" meatball hoagie, and an order of Cajun fries. Sandwiches were delicious!!! The fries were generously seasoned and spicy, perfectly cooked with a soft potato inside! This is my third time having Anchor Hoagies. This first one was a cold Italian I bought from the Norwin girls basketball fundraiser. It was so good that my husband and I went back a few days later. This is my first time eating inside their restaurant. There are four small tables with chairs, so it's good for small groups and couples. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Their menu is simple but it feels complex to read. The bread on the hoagies is awesome and they put an ample amount of meat inside for it to be filling. I think the hoagies do need more dressing/moisture of some sort. We find ourselves adding Italian dressing to the subs once we get home. Overall, this is a great small business and I hope the community gives them their support! read more

If you are a fan of triangle bar hoagies, then you will love anchor hoagies! This small shop is located just a few minutes down the road from Walmart in noth versailes. The first time I visited, I drove right past the shop. You have to look for the sign or you may miss the building as it sits back from the road. While the shop may be small, with just two tables for dining, the hoagies are just the opposite! They have all the traditional hoagies you would expect to see at a hoagie shop like italian, turkey, ham and roast beef. They thought about the vegetarians with their veggie hoagie ($7 small, green peper, onion, tomato, american cheese, provolone cheese, mushrooms.) And they also offer a tuna hoagie. In addition they have some unusual options, only served in large for $25, like a ginormous breakfast hoagie that could feed a few topped with bacon and eggs and their "special" which includes chicken, bacon, steak, banana pepers and mushrooms. No matter what you order,all sandwiches are staked high with meats, cheese, veggies and their special touch. Oil, vinegar and some spices. While all sandard hoagies include lettuce, tomato and onion, you can add mayo for free and pickles for a little extra. Personally, a small 6 inch hoagie is enough for a meal for me. Although I always end up stretching my limit and ordering fries, $3, or homemade chips, $2.50. They are just too good to pass up! Delicious subs. Got sausage and Italian, and fries. All were good. Sausage had some tang to it. I like spicy food, this was on the mild side. I asked if the sausage was sweet, mild, or hot. Answer was IDK but it has some tang to it. Next time I'm taking the sausage out, dicing it and putting it back as it'll be easier for me to eat. I'll be back to try another, with fries of course. A blackened chicken one would be nice. Oh, fries are Cajun seasoned, love them! The Italian wasn't lacking any quantity of meat. The Gyro sub is incredible, better than any normal gyro I've had. I don't know what they do or where they get it, but the meat they use for gyros is so much better than any gyro meat I have anywhere else. This is my most frequently purchased hoagie from them, but they also have an incredible 5 star Po'Boy and Pierogi hoagie. Sometimes they're a limited time, but if they're selling either of these 3, you must try the place. The normal subs are decent, but what makes it a 5 star place is the unique hoagies they create and sell that you can't get elsewhere. Also a fan of the bread they use.
