This place... how do they stay in business. They NEVER have much staff. When I go to pickup a hoagie, people are always just standing around trying to order or pickup.m while there is one person trying to do everything. You never know what you are going to get with these folks. Does not seem like the franchise owners are engaged in how customers are treated or served. Product is fantastic, but service is horrible. Just door dashed two mild Italian subs on door dash without sesame seeds and oil and vinegar and mayo on the side. Total cost 64 dollars. Buns came with sesame seeds, which could be a problem for people with seed allergies (definitely a food safety issue), and none of the dressings were in the bag. What makes matters worse is I called the place and the lady who answered the phone told me that it was only her and another employee there and they have only been employed less than a month and they did not receive adequate training. So I asked well how much training is required to grab a hoagie bun that does not have sesame seeds on it. And then she hung up on me. I am surprised this place is still in business. I am a sucker for a good Italian hoagie, and Primo has the best of the best! I LOVE the Italian Diablo on the non seeded bread. Yes, it's pricey. But the quality and quantity is above the rest! I have been craving a jersey style chicken cutlet sandwich and primo's was recommended. I got the chicken suprimo add pesto. The primo size was $18 and change; I thought it would be a big hoagie! Wrong. I was very disappointed in the size and quality for the price. The chicken was ok but was a little burnt and dry. It was like a bunch of cold, room temp items were put on a toasted bun; the red peppers were cold and slimy, cheese was not melted, and chicken was room temp. The bun was also pretty hard. The sandwich was also very dry, even with the added pesto. Staff was nice but Primo left a lot to be desired. I probably won't return. Wish we had an authentic chicken cutlet sammy! read more

Stopped in to check out this new hoagie place. Found that the bread is made on sight and they are out of South Philly. My Italain hoagie was on a sesame bun had had some fresh cut prosciutto, hot capicola and a mild provolone. You can add peppers a & pickles and oil or mayo. Very good and tasty hoagie with a little heat from the capicola. Would have preferred the bread/bun not to have the sesame seeds but all in all a good hoagie. There were a few people in front of me but there was a large staff working and the wait was short. There are two small tables to eat but the place is small and primarily a takeout. read more

When I talk about hoagies from back home this is the kind of hoagie I'm talking about! As soon as I took a bit it took me back to where I grew up. Definitely one of my favorite hoagie shops in Washington County. I got an Italian, perfect amount of everything. The only thing though which is my fault I should've asked for a bit of extra mayo. My first experience eating a Primo Hoagie and I was blown away! Ordered the Italian which came on a seeded roll. They hand sliced all the meats to order right in front of you and were very generous with the fillings. The sandwich was out of this world delicious!!! I have never had a hoagie this amazing! This is the second time we have visited this place. This place has superb hoagies. I tried the chicken parm sandwich the first time and it was amazing, the second time I tried the Steak and Cheese and once again it didn't disappoint, because it was terrific. The one thing that isn't good is the website. It works, but when you go to place an order it goes to a third party site to take your payment and it crashes. The first time I didn't think of it as an issue, called in my order and that was it. The second time, come on get this issue resolved, it can be a pain in the butt if it keeps not working. A welcome addition to Peters Township! I was going to do the same old pizza again , but decided to call last minute for a large catering tray and sides. The Owner Mike answered and laughed out loud , then he asked how he could help. The customer service I received was above and beyond! Their hoagies are the best ! Sandwiches piled high with deli meat and the bread was perfect. They were incredibly busy , but really went above and beyond. I drive by here today and I love my subs so I stopped in. Now I'm not factoring this in my rating but the ac was broke and it was way to hot in there. I ordered the cheese steak primo and a 20oz bottled drink...no fountain machine...and it was about $17. Now the bread was amazing, I think it could of been softer but the taste and the sesame seeds on it were delicious. The sub isn't the biggest. My biggest complaint is the meat was not seasoned. They put "spices" on the sub which is good but it needs salt and pepper. I liked how the meat and cheese are sliced fresh and the staff is very nice. While I was there the owner came in with her kids and some family and I really appreciated the fact that while ringing up her order she would stop to take care of customers first and made her own food while the staff helped the customers. She also signed up for a charity event in the community. I'm going to try the Italian next time I go. This place is like if DiBella's and Jersey Mike's had a baby. DiBella's has great bread and Jersey Mike's slices their meat and cheese fresh. I do think this place uses a better quality meat. So a little pricey, could use some more seasoning, and could use a fountain machine. To be fair not really enough for a fountain machine. Just avoid this place...the Subway in Waterdam Plaza has better service and can actually get an order correct! The owner, Nick is an arrogant bully!!! The man child who does the slicing is also a bully! If any other restaurant gets your order wrong they remake it...this guy Nick interrogates you and finds a way to make it the customer's fault! The girl in the front calls him on speaker phone where he will proceed to scream and make accusations! I had a previous encounter with a woman who claimed to be a manager...my kid picked up the food and was too scared to go back in and request more mayo so I went in. I have been in Pittsburgh now for 4 years, and this Primos was worth waiting that long for a good hoagie. Staff was very nice and welcoming, and I would definitely recommend for small/large gatherings or just a simple lunch run. This is a Philly staple and I am glad they've made their way west. I decided to try Primo Hoagies this afternoon. A chain that serves sandwiches much like a Subway or Jersey Mikes or Firehouse you get my drift. What caught my eye was The Sharp Italian made with Sharp Provolone Cheese. I love Sharp or better yet Extra Sharp Provolone. Some think it's too strong and smells like a marathon runners foot, and may taste like it, but it's one of my favorites. I don't have a foot thing, I just like strong cheese. There were a lot of bodies working in that little shop and I thought, to pay the rent in Peters plus all the wages and overhead, you gotta sell a lot of friggin sandwiches. $8.50 for a small, $12.50 for a medium and $27 for the large sandwich. I didn't even see a large on display. I ordered the small. Their sides were Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Olives and Cole Slaw. $3.99 - $6.49 for a line scoop in a plastic dish, I forwent the side. I expected something spectacular, what I got wasn't even on par with Sheetz. The meats were paper thin ( Pittsburgh Style, Chipped) so was the cheese, and cold! Served cold. I'm not big on chain sandwich shops because we have sooooo many good places for a hoagie. Danny's, Fiori's even the local bars make a good Italian Hoagie. I tried it, got it out of my system, won't be returning anytime soon. I commend them for keeping people working and providing jobs in the community, but, the Cooties Pandemic made all of expect just a little more. Maybe Joe provided all the start up money. Buy your own meats and cheeses to build your own sandwich or go to GetGo. The Primo wasn't very primo for that ritzy of an area. read more

Just used primo to feed my hungry moving crew. They did a great job with a huge platter, plus all the fixings on the side. Packaged beautifully so that it traveled back to the house without spilling. I'd give the brand Primo a 5 star, however this location deserves more like a 1.5. I am going to be patient and assume that it's the pains of a new restaurant that appears to be run entirely by teenagers. I've been to several locations out East so I'm well versed in what my hoagie should taste like. We've probably been to this location 5 times and every time our order is incorrect. I caught the mistake before I left last time, my veggie Diablo was missing the broccoli rabe - one of only a couple ingredients. The staff was very friendly, but seemed very confused. When I brought the error to an employee's attention, he apologized and put cold broccoli rabe on it. By this point we had waited over 30 minutes for our 2 sandwiches and the place looked like things were only going to get worse as it was really starting to get busy. Several people in front of us waited as long or longer. We left and I heated my sandwich up at home. I'm hoping this location is able to get it right and I can change this to a 5 star review. A correctly made Primo is second to none in my opinion. read more
