Extremely disappointed with Blue Dot…read more About four years ago, I paid roughly $18,000 for a brand-new HVAC system expecting reliability and quality service. Instead, I've dealt with recurring issues over the years, including multiple problems within the last two weeks. Most recently, my AC stopped cooling properly during extremely hot weather. I scheduled service and was given a 2-6 PM arrival window for 5/20/26. No one showed up. I called multiple times that evening and was repeatedly told the issue was being "escalated" and that dispatch or management would contact me. No one ever did. I called again the this morning. The representative could see all prior escalations but could not explain why no technician showed up or why no supervisor contacted me. I was again promised service between 2-6 PM today. Again, no technician arrived. Meanwhile, my system began freezing over, with visible ice/frost on the indoor lines and outdoor unit. I ultimately had to shut the system down entirely to avoid possible further damage. I called once more and was told the local branch and management had already gone home for the evening, so no one could provide answers or assistance. At this point, this is heading into a third day with no service, no management follow-up, and no resolution. I understand HVAC companies get busy during extreme weather, but the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through has been unacceptable, especially after investing so much money into a system that has had recurring problems since installation.

1 star is actually very generous. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My young daughter and her family woke…read moreup to no heat on 1/21/2026. She called this company and had a tech come out that evening. He explained to her how her unit is old and basically fried. NO CHOICE BUT TO REPLACE IT for 14,000! With impending snow she almost got taken advantage of. Thank GOD she called another company for a 2nd opinion and it was fixed in less than an hr for under 400$. Taking advantage of anyone is NOT ok.

DO NOT TRUST COMPANY! Months ago we decided to replace our central air. This compay was nice but…read morenothing more than a used car salesman selling you something. Not long after we got it, thinking we now had peace of mind where the ac wouldn't conk out in a heatwave, it started making a noise. We turned it off to be safe, and luckily it wasn't too hot. Before we could have someone come check, it got hot, so we turned it back on. The noise had stopped. Canceled the appointment. Weeks later there was freon leaking down the side of the basement unit and on the floor. Someone came out to look and said we had to keep it off until they got the new coil (this one was too big apparently). A week without ac, my mother is a senior and I'm in a hospital bed with progressive MS and can't take the heat. We had to have someone come over and bring the attic window ac down to our dining room and run it 24/7 for days. Also had to cut some wood to keep it from bending the window sill. The guy finally come out, says he had the wrong coil, had to run and get the other at the warehouse place. Put it in and said we couldn't have the vent down there now but we needed one so the basement got some air. He used electrical tape to make a vent. Weeks later there was a rattling noise in the living room vent we never heard prior and kept me awake all night but it would stop and go. This time we called BGE. Guy comes out and says he was shocked it cost so much and they could've did the furnace too for that price. He asked if we had a permit and inspection. We said the guy said we didn't need one. Bge guy said there should've been cap locks outside for safety but there were screws instead. We asked the hvac company, he said he didn't see that in the pic he had. Either he was lying or the guy who did the job lied. We had to take a pic and send it for him to even send someone come do it. He came out to look first and said the vent was unprofessional and he had someone fix that as well. By now we're wondering how many other issues were there we didn't know about. Now we called and emailed saying we heard you need a permit and inspection. He said he didn't. We called the permit place and several people said he wasn't even registered and he DOES need a permit. Again he said no and asked for the name and number of who I spoke to. I texted him. He didn't reply. Called permit office again and they called the guy and said he Ned's to get it done. That was days ago. Still not a word from company. MONTHS now, phone calls, emails, texts and they denied needing a permit every time. Now the owner told the permit chief he didn't know he needed one, even though we've been telling him all this time! The company did issue a $300 refund to cover our electric bill for having ro run our window ac for a week. But all these other issues?? The phone calls and emails and appointments, etc. The fact we paid so much and the job wasn't even done right. The fact they lie about it. Do not trust this company! EDIT 14 Sep: Never bothered to tell us an inspection was finally set up. We happened to talk to the permit depth and they said it was scheduled for the next day! Inspector denied the permit for now because the box (fuses?) outside is jammed and not property done so the has to have the company fix it so he can make sure everything in it is correct. Of course nobody could address this (meetings one day, out the next day). More set backs!

I researched reviews on all and Eco-Cool was my initial top choice after the research. I called the office to schedule a routine servicing of our system on Friday, I spoke with Amy at the office, she offered several options for services including a simple one time service or an annual program. We were able to schedule a tech to come out on Tuesday morning. Our Tech, Craig, was prompt, courteous, and professional even through the multiple questions I asked. He took a look at our system and the area of concern we had and he gave us the news we were anticipating (that our system is running but might not have much time left in it....it's 26years old) he offered to have quote for replacement drawn up if we wanted. (I did) he left us set up for success and he told us his goal was to keep us running into springtime at least....we appreciated that! After he departed, I called Amy again to arrange payment for today. She was kind and professional and let us know she would have a quote to us by the end of the week and even provided insight to what pricing is doing now and anticipated to be after the new year so we could be able to make the decisions best for our family. We appreciated the prompt, professional, expert care we have received in our first few interactions with Eco-Cool and are looking forward to remaining customers for a long time!
