Ring 12 hours AFTER repair
Danielle J.

I brought my claddagh ring that has been in the family for 80+ years to Ancona jewelers. I picked it up around 5pm on a weeknight and 12 hours later my ring was stuck on my finger and smashed again. Avoid going here for repairs if possible. They compromised a family heirloom and I am now nervous to wear again.

Jewelry can often be a big purchase, I have been a client / customer of Ancona Jewelers since they were established in Chicago, Harlem & Belmont Ave. With that said, I have not found another Jewelry Store that can even compare to them. I always have faith in their expertise from the beginning of purchases till the end! Tony, Enzo, Paula have all helped me with purchases and they put 110% into each clients needs! I never feel uncomfortable leaving my jewelry with them. Where as other Stores have offered to clean my wedding ring and I always decline! When we talk about customer service, this is more a family feel! They are second to none. I only purchase my jewelry from Ancona Jewelers and they have recently added to my wedding ring and it's gorgeous! Impeccable work and stellar quality! Thanks again !!

My Tacori ring and Ancona designed wedding band

My fiancé and I came from New England to visit Ancona. We worked with Massimo who helped us pick out the most amazing ring! He guided and educated us, without being pushy like so many other places. We will absolutely be back every time we're in town!!

Absolutely head over heels in love with my engagement ring, I've had it for several months now and I still find myself staring at it

After extensive research to find a jeweler, My Finanće and I came in to find a band for my engagement ring, using my grandmother's diamond. We we greeted with open arms and the establishment was beautiful and clean. Robin was wonderful with helping us pick out a band, there was no pressure or any type of "car sales" agenda. She listened, was patient (because I had no clue what I wanted other than white gold) and was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. We found the perfect ring and wedding band and we felt comfortable leaving my grandmother's custom made wedding band for them to exchange the diamond and put a ZC in my grandma's ring. When we got the band, one of the accent itty bitty diamonds were missing and they were apologetic and worked super fast to get it corrected. I absolutely love how well we were treated and just the whole experience, I trust them handling my cherished items and knew they were safe in their hands. I highly HIGHLY recommend Ancona Jewelers.

Enzo was awesome to work with, very helpful. The store atmosphere is easy going with loads of setting options and the rest of the staff is very friendly and accommodating.....

The BEST jewelry store!!! We never felt pushed to buy or rushed to pick something. They really took their time and made us feel important and genuinely wanted us to be comfortable and happy. Tony is so nice and helpful. Everyone there is very kind and we loved our experience at Ancona! My now fiancé said he went to several other chain type jewelry stores and felt extremely overwhelmed and attacked by the staff. He loved the family feel of Ancona and we wont go to another place!! Thanks for all the help and I'm literally obsessed with my engagement ring!!!

What's inside is up to you.

Ancona Jewelers is an amazing experience. I say experience because the store itself is not just a shop and buy kind of place. From the minute you walk in you are greeted with a smile, hello, and if this is your second time through the door called by name. The Jewelers are extremely insightful, pleasing, and make you feel like a long time friend. Tony, Enzo, and Paula will all bend over backwards to make your experience as accommodating as possible. They are willing to work with your price range and get you a piece that will bring a beautiful extension of your personality. If the piece is not in stock or hasn't been made they are more than happy to have the artisans sculpt or create a personalized piece. They also offer wart and espresso which I always take advantage of. I'm sure if you mentioned you were hungry they would have some sort of baked pasta in the back that Nona had prepared the day before. My personal experience has been that I have purchased my wife's engagement ring and both wedding band 8 years ago. The engagement ring was a custom design which entailed multiple drawing of mine and my wife's sculpted into a wax model. The setting diamonds were chosen after the wax model was approved and lastly the solitaire was fitted. The quality of the diamonds involved are unbelievable. My wife was and still is happy with her engagement ring 8 years after the wedding. It has been a long time coming that we upgraded her diamond stud earrings. We have been shopping around for 2 years on and off looking at various places to compare prices. No other place has come close to the quality of diamonds Ancona has in store. The studs are extremely clear and the color was amazing for the 1.5 total weight studs I purchased. The price was about 20% less than other jewelry stores. I couldn't believe it, the deal seemed to good to be true. I had been to other stores boasting 70% off jewelry and still Ancona had a better price with way better quality. I sat on the deal in my head for 2 days and had to take advantage because I knew I would never find a better deal and I would regret not getting these amazing diamonds. Ancona also offers free financing for a year. I took advantage of this both times. It make buying jewelry an affordable option. Plus you can tell you wife for the next year that she is still getting a gift. Ancona Jewelers is an amazing family owned business that makes you feel like one of the family. You will laugh when you enter, be treated like you own the place, and leave feeling like you have made the right choice on a huge decision. I cannot say enough about this place of business. I will say that I'm excited for the next few years because maybe it's my turn to get a nice watch.

This is a gift from Ancona for purchasing our engagement ring there! Isn't that so sweet??!?!

Larc has a much larger collection of colored stones than any other jeweler in the area. (Stones in…read moreWheaton has an amazing colored stones event once a year, or did before the pandemic, but that's only once a year.) They have mineral specimens; carved jade; coins; zircons; opals; amethyst; citrine; tourmaline; tanzanite; pearls; plus the standards (emerald/sapphire and I assume ruby). They also have an impressive estate selection and a small sale case with some real bargains, in addition to some cheap stone bracelets and clearly labeled rhinestone earrings as starter jewelry. In addition to the usual jewelry they carry large stone cabochone pendants, and a selection of stone and stone chip beads (these last are estate, I think). As I write this they also have a couple of boxes of goodies to rummage through that are deeply discounted (freshwater pearls! silver! stone!), starting at $5 or so which is fun and a bit dangerous to one's wallet. I have had stones set here, purchased estate pieces, and purchased one ring from some kind of a jeweler's look book they pulled out when showing me settings. As a note, if you really prefer silver to gold they can work with that. The colored stones are phenomenal. They mostly follow current fashion, as one would expect, but if you want something different they'll work with you. Prices are rather high ($1500 for a ring is not unusual), however the selection can't be beat, and prices are occasionally negotiable, particularly if you've been ambushed by several pieces in the estate case at once. And they get points for having affordable goodies you won't find at other high-end jewelers, so they've got range. When Yelp defined 5 stars as "as good as it gets," this would be a 4 star review; however now that 4 stars is merely good, I have to go 5. If this place has a sale, which I don't think they do often, run, do not walk.

I brought in a number of inherited family watches . I wanted to to see if they could be fixed There…read morewas only one they said could be fixed. It was an old Clinton. I found out from a reputable company. , They didn't fix it. They replaced the original mechanism which was wind up with a new battery operated mechanism . That's not what I wanted. I want the original to be fixed. There's nothing I can do about it now the old mechanism is gone. It needed a new strap. I told them what I want. They chose the strap and put it on. The first one didn't fit. I brought it back They exchanged it. The second one didn't fit either I'll be bringing it in for an exchange. In the meantime, the crown fell off the watch. Luckily, I found it. I'll be bringing it in for that to be put back on. I also brought in my gold Tag watch for repairs. The issue with that one was also the crown. They replaced the crown with what they said was a tag crown. It still was not working I could not change the time. In order to change the day and time you have unscrew it then pull out the crown twice a little bit for the time then a little bit more for the date. I brought it back in. It was still under the year warranty. They sent it out to their watchmaker again. It came back with a different crown. The new crown second one was way too big. It was obvious when you looked at it. It barely fits in the opening, and you still cannot unscrew it then pull it out to change the time and date. I happen to be in Las Vegas I had the watch with me I was brought it to Tourneau, for those who don't know , that is one of the most reputable Swiss watch companies there is. They looked at my watch, of course said I should've brought it to an authorized tag dealer. Lark's watch repair did such a poor job. They said there were two screws missing on the inside. The crown was the totally wrong one for my watch and it had not been resealed and was very susceptible to getting water in it . overall lark did a terrible job on my Tag and I feel scammed me on my Clinton. I had paid $200 for the original repairs for the Tag . I don't remember what I paid for the Clintons " repair "bringing it to an authorized tag dealer probably would've cost me $500 to $700. I am now passed the one year warranty date. I'll be bringing both watches back in hoping to get my $200 back, so I can have the money to send it to somebody who knows how to fix a Tag watch. I'm sure they can replace the crown on the Clinton, but nothing can change my disappointment that there is a modern mechanism inside my vintage watch.

I would not trust your watch to get serviced properly …read more.. I did give these guys a shot last year replacing the band. While it took days if not weeks longer than expected, I had no reason to fault them specifically. This time, I needed a new battery. According to Tissot, the time difference and hand lag (pictured) is due to improper battery changing sequence and/or incorrect battery. When I called to let Castello know, and find out next steps, the manager Michelle was fairly rude and defensive instead of helpful and understanding. She said things like: "we change 20 batteries a day" "I have worked here for 30 years" "I have sold 100 of these watches" "We have sold Tissot for 40 years" and sooooo many other things like this instead of "let me find out about that" or "I will take care of that for you". She did come close with "we will send it to Tissot for you and report back with how much the repair will be" ....yikes. I said I was ok paying for anything not related to their apparent lack of experience changing batteries in a T-Touch, but there was no offer to stand behind their work, as I read the wrong battery can "fry" the watch, whatever that means. One last Michelle quote:(she does love to argue and be defensive) her: "Is the watch working" me: "yes" her:" that means the battery is good" LMAO I even did a little homework, emailed it to her, and asked if the battery brand used or sequence was followed. She thought the idea was absurd that she read that email from me, when all I wanted was to find out how or if they could help rectify the situation. I visited today to get my $25 back, and decided just to send to Tissot for repairs myself. A LOT more words from Michelle, most of which contradicting her statements form our phone call like "I said I would take care of it" "we have sold Tissot for 35 years" "I have worked here 31 years" etc. but no $25. They are out here just stealing money at this point lol. I will see what Tissot comes back with and if the battery was the cause of any damage, I will return for Costello for them to reimburse and hope they come to their senses and do the right thing. Stay tuned for my updated review!!
