Sicilian s& a regular slice
Steve R.

Haven't been to this pizzeria in many many years. I was in the area and had to stop in. Glad I did. After 15 plus years of not having Ancona it's still as good as I remember. Had a regular slice and a Sicilian both excellent. I let George the owner know how great it still is and he split a grandma slice with me which is outstanding. He makes it differently than other pizzerias. He uses Fresh mozzarella , old school Italian pizza place. Reminds me of growing up in the 70's. Will be back for sure

This review is proof of how much I loved this place. They even asked for my preferences before making it. The service was fast, and the quality of the pizza was just top-notch.

Sicilian Pizza with 1 Topping

Being new to an area I have found that local eats that most people swear by are never my thing. I normally think it's mass hypnosis and nostalgia that fuels the love but this was not it. I walked in on a Friday night and there was a colorful cast of characters behind the counter whipping up food and conversation. It's a very old school no frills spot, lots of pizza behind the counter, it's freshly made, the smells the sounds very old school feel. I was told to order a Sicilian Pizza with pepperoni well done. It's not my usual first order from an unfamiliar spot but I decided to order with garlic knots. I sat in a booth and hung out while the food was made soaking up the atmosphere of this old school pizzeria. Soon as my food was up it was boxed I paid and off I went to taste it. I looked at it and noticed the pepperoni curling cans crispy the cheese plentiful. The first bite immediately I tasted a buttery bottom to a cheese and safe with some spice coming from the pepperoni. I don't know if it was the hunger but three slices later I called it quits! The Garlic knots were freshly bathed in garlic before I received them. They were a nice add on with the pizza. It is some of the best pizza I have had since moving here and I'm excited to go back for more. 5/5 stars! If it matters it's cash only so so keep that in mind when ordering.

Always the best. Old school. Never disappointed. Only thing is they raised their prices but who hasn't. Also they only take cash.

I'm driving back from Maryland and I planned to stop at Via Cuma for lunch…read more I understand Via Cuma is a not by the slice pizza shop, it's more authentic with a personal size pizza. I parked across the street (make sure you feed the parking meter) and walked inside. I'm assuming it was the owner, I said I'm so hungry and was asked to grab any open table. The restaurant is cozy with multiple tables which can be adjusted to fit a large or small party. The owner comes over with an iPad, I just want a glass of wine with lunch. No bueno, I don't think they have a liquor license. I ordered a coke instead. This word is tripping me up, I know it's devilish, Diavola? I make the sign of the cross as I order this pizza. The owner explains this is his favorite pizza, I can see why. The Diavola Pizza is made with San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Hot Soppressata Salame from Calabria and topped with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese along with a drizzle of Olive Oil. This is a pizza that's more heavenly than devilish. There's some heat coming from various ingredients but it's welcomed. The sourdough is something that's interesting, I had this dough in Syosset last week. Is this a new trend? It brought the pizza to another level, there's more complexity with the imported ingredients. I also appreciated the cheese, I should have asked if it was made in-house. Via Cuma, great pizza the other day! Thanks for the Italian lesson on pronouncing Diavola

Via Cuma is cozy and well decorated with authentic Italian culture from the wall tiles to the scenic artwork. We decided to order the wings and fritto misto for appetizers. The wings came with a flavorful lemon pepper dipping sauce that had the perfect kick to it. We also got the Capricciosa pie. You can't go wrong with prosciutto and artichoke! Overall it was a great experience. Parking is tough so leave time to find a spot. We are excited for their second location to open.

Best restaurant I know of. Not just the best Italian restaurant. Let me start out by saying, my…read moreonly criticism of the place is that the food is so damned good here that I tend to over-order and over-eat. Every time I'm there, I go in with the thought "THIS time I'm going to control myself". And then I do it again...., It's the only place remaining that I can't control my eating! The food is delicious, no matter what I order: meat, fish, appetizers. I could swear the air tastes better... Full menu, it's all great. Prices? Ya know, I used to say: a little expensive. But it seems that their prices have stayed the same while others have gone up, so I no longer regard Livornos as "an expensive restaurant". The last bill (yesterday) undercut my estimate by about 25%! Anyway, getting more than my money's worth at any price. You get free stuff too. They give you that pizza bread along with the regular bread. Some group vegetables at main course time. And in addition to any desserts you order, a LARGE tray of delicious fruit, no additional charge. I wish I knew where they get that fruit from because I can't find fruit in my shopping that matches it in taste. Oh yeah, also free Italian cookies. The service? As polite and efficient as I've ever seen. The owners (I think they're the owners) come around at intervals to make sure everything is okay. I've never had anything to complain about. My fingers are getting tired so I'll stop here. You've been warned.

My husband and I were coming from Northport and his parents were coming from Staten Island so we decided to try a place in his new location. I googled some restaurants and found Livorna. When I made the reservation the person answering the phone was so polite so I had a feeling it was going to be a good experience. When we walked in they greet you with such warmth. When we sat down they put two generous bread baskets on the table along with a carbonara and a bruschetta plate. Right then and there it's telling you that they really appreciate your business. I ordered a house glass of wine and I was shocked that it was filled all the way to the top unbelievable. We all loved our food and the incredible service. When we ordered dessert they brought us a complimentary fruit platter. This place is amazing we don't have any place that treats you like this even in Northport. We dine at many fine restaurants and I have to tell you this was the best we've ever been treated anywhere. We will definitely be making the trip from Northport to come here and we know our nephew will frequently be eating at this restaurant. He's Italian and loved it here!
