Delicious, original menu, the food was some of the best ever! The service was amazing too in this family run restaurant. You must eat here! You won't be disappointed!

We had a great breakfast at this place- definitely the highlight of our mini getaway. They update their menu and bring out the freshest of the season so make sure to check ahead if you are wondering what gems they are offering that day. They also use ingredients straight from their own gardens. The service was really nice too. Marianna also came to say hi to us and asked us how we liked our food. The food was absolutely delicious and we would come here again next time we are in the area.

Cute and relaxing spot for breakfast/lunch in Catskills. Servers were attentive and food was quite good. I was impressed by the COVID precautions as well.

Creative menu that changes daily

A wonderful find. Incredibly fresh, local and curated ingredients and herbs from the garden behind the hotel. The execution of our breakfast was perfect. The presentation is beautiful and the owners are charming and engaging. The space is generous and cozy. Definitely not a diner, but a true gem for those who appreciate excellent food.

Pancake sliders!

Breakfast was delicious! Christine was so pleasant and attentive. Highly recommended.

Remove this place from your website. We came here for breakfast and were told that they are not opened to the public.

Located in the Catskill Mountains, this place is an absolute gem. It is obvious from the moment you…read morewalk in that you have just stepped into a special place. You'll find something for everyone at catskill mountain country store. Fresh food is prepared according to your order. However, the wait is well worth it. The eggs were fresh and fluffy, just the way I like them. As a tea lover, I enjoyed the assortment of teas. All staff members were friendly and attentive to all guests. Those traveling alone, with families, or visiting for a weekend will find this to be very enjoyable. Don't forget to pick up some fresh baked goods from the gift shop. Apple donuts are also addictive. On the ride home, I ate them all.

The sauces and jams are made in house. They sell main stream candy repackaged in general store packaging for an up charge. There's Windham and Catskill souvenirs. There's stuff made by local artists along with big box toys and items. There are a few cats living in the store and restaurant - all are super friendly. The restaurant is nice but the service is extremely slow and could be a touch nicer. There are multiple signs talking about the whole world being understaffed. Just be prepared to spend a while. The waitress was fine but clearly very busy. We had mentioned wanting to get dessert at the beginning but when we were done eating, she had just brought us our check - we were too fully anyway. I had the garden salad sandwich on farm bread. The avocado wasn't the freshest and there was only one tiny piece of tomato - this will probably be a good sandwich in peak summer. The sandwiches came with chips and salsa. The store made mango salsa is delicious. Locally made root beer in a bottle was delicious and unique. The baked goods were quite pricey (almost $9 for a small square of raspberry bread). The bathrooms are on the otherwise by the kids toys.

It wasn't too busy when we arrived in middle of the afternoon, and we were warmly greeted. You place your order at the counter and then seat yourself. Water and cups are out too. I went with the Pad Thai ($27 with chicken) and also got to try some of the fried chicken ($17), a special. Prices seemed a little high but the dishes were delicious, with portions being reasonable and the Pad Thai not being overwhelmingly sweet. The fried chicken was magically crunchy outside and moist inside, with an irresistible dipping sauce not too cilantro-y. The Windham Local has a parking lot off to the side, but there was ample street parking too. And a shop proprietor later told us that The Windham Local is her place to eat in town!

Coffees were delicious and strong and the breakfast burrito was truly the best breakfast burrito I think I've ever had. The space is so cute. I read on their website while planning the weekend that they are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and have live music on the weekends. It looks like they do it all. We stopped in early and had our choice of tables. The space is big, clean and perfectly calm. Great spot for a slow breakfast. After ordering at the counter, they brought everything over to our table. I got the oatmeal bowl. Delicious and simple. However, I couldn't help but steal many many bites of the breakfast burrito. Seriously, get it! A great spot with good food, a friendly team and a cozy vibe.

Communication was seamless, they helped create a custom birthday cake with flavors I requested, and the entire ordering experience was smooth and stress-free. The food was outstanding. From the bread and cinnamon rolls to the focaccia and cake, everything was fresh, delicious, and a huge hit with our group. Every item felt thoughtfully made, and it was clear why so many people rave about their bakery. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the pickup experience. I had a prepaid order of over $250 scheduled for 8:00 a.m. pickup, right when the café opened. We arrived about 15 minutes early.. because it was raining and simply hoped to wait somewhere covered until pickup time. We weren't expecting the order early or asking anyone to rush. Given the size of the order, the custom cake, and the fact that I had brought someone with me to help carry everything, we just wanted to avoid standing outside in the rain. When I knocked on the door, I could see several staff members inside. One employee looked at us and gestured toward the clock, essentially pointing out that they weren't open yet. I completely understand that we arrived early, and I respect opening hours. What bothered me was how the situation was handled. A simple "We'll be open at 8" or "Sorry, we can't let anyone in until opening" would have been perfectly reasonable. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily cold. Even once we were inside, the employee helping us came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. It was especially disappointing because every interaction I'd had over email leading up to the event had been so thoughtful, friendly, and accommodating. The food was exceptional, and the planning process was excellent. I just wish the same level of hospitality had carried through to the pickup experience. Had that interaction been handled with a bit more warmth, this would have easily been a 5-star review. Ratings: * Food & ambiance: 10/10 * Communication email: 10/10 * Pickup Experience: 4/10

They had sold out of the Country Girl, which was the fried chicken and biscuits, so I opted for the sausage and biscuits with eggs, and hubs tried the lemon ricotta pancake with homemade blueberry jam. The eggs in the savory dish featured the creamy bright orange yolk I love from locally farmed chicken. Biscuit was a nice size and the gravy was meaty and tasty. I could have used a couple more spoonfuls though. The large pancakes were perfectly fluffy, and the jam (though they could have been more generous with the topping) was a perfect match. Good, solid, stick to your ribs food. Service was friendly and quick. Only miss was the acidic stale coffee that was likely sitting around for a couple of hours). I'd say prices are on the higher side, but still, a better deal and quality than the brunch at Babbler nearby, for example. I did some digging after lunch and learned that The Wildair/Contra team from NYC opened this place. So I'm not surprised that this place made a good impression. Will certainly be back!

The exterior is misleading & easy to pass by if you're not in the know - don't let it fool you! Breakfast is only served on weekends between 8 AM & 1 PM & we just happened to be there. Service was extra warm & welcoming - we had our pup with us & it was a not so great weekend weather wise & while we offered to order & sit outside at a table as to not disrupt other diners, they managed to put us in their back room so no one had to eat out in the cold (Pepper can't write her own review, but she says thank you, two paws up!) While the menu is small, one item is better than the next & you can't go wrong no matter what you choose! Prices are reasonable for everything you get & in today's economy, it's a rare find! The apple pancakes were to die for & honestly, the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! Fresh biscuits with maple butter (YUM!) Don't pass up on the extra creamy & delicious chocolate milk! Seriously - can I get an IV drip of that? This place is the embodiment of farm to table (obviously). Zero frills, but full authenticity of a working farm. Wonderful place & wonderful people. They have lots of their goods for sale too, so you can take Buck Hill Farm home with you! We bought their delicious bourbon maple syrup, fresh herbal tea, hot sauce, & took some ribs back to the house to grill for Father's Day! Plenty of full & happy bellies even after leaving the farm.
