The food and service were great! The ambiance was really the selling point and it's on the hotel grounds.

    Beef Stew
    Brenda V.

When it comes to cozy comfort food, this beef stew absolutely delivers. Rich, hearty, and packed with flavor, it's everything a beef stew should be. The beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender, slow-cooked to perfection, and infused with a depth of flavor that only comes from hours of simmering. The vegetables--carrots, potatoes, and celery--are soft but not mushy, retaining just the right amount of bite, and soak up all the flavors of the broth. The broth itself is the star of the show. It's thick, savory, and slightly tangy, with a hint of wine or maybe balsamic that really adds complexity. You get a balance of umami from the beef, earthiness from the veggies, and just a touch of sweetness that rounds out every bite. It's the ultimate comfort food, ideal for a cold night or when you need something that feels like a warm hug. Paired with a slice of crusty bread, this beef stew is pure bliss. It's not too salty, not too heavy--just perfectly balanced, leaving you satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. If you're looking for a dish that feels homemade but has the finesse of a gourmet recipe, this beef stew is it. Highly recommend for anyone craving classic comfort with a refined touch. Only reason I gave it a 4 star was lack of servers. Bartender was overwhelmed with all the drinks and orders which delayed our meal

I was surprised by how good the food was based on the reviews. We stayed at the hotel and the food was great for breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, we had it twice getting the bacon potato quiche, ham and cheese croissant, and the SEC roll. They warm up the pastries and all 3 were excellent. For drinks, my wife loved the coffee here and I tried the matcha latte (not very sweet) and the chai latte (a bit too sweet for me). You can get a punch card if you like. For dinner, we got the pork chop and milanese chicken. The pork chop was one of the best ones I had, upstate NY seems to do these better than in NYC somehow. It was tender whereas most pork chops I've had are dry. It worked so well with the brown butter sage and potatoes. It did get a little too rich but it was alright because we had the other dish to compliment it. The chicken came with a lemon green sauce that brightens up the palette and the Broccoli was nicely roasted. The breading was perfectly crispy without making the chicken too dry. We finished off with the chocolate cake. Not very sweet, deep chocolate flavor, moist cake - the only thing was that the cake could be fluffier, a bit too dense for my liking. Came with a sweet whipped cream with berries that worked well. I'd come back here even if I wasn't staying here.

    Fig and walnut flatbread

My partner and I visited Babblers on Thanksgiving while we were in Windham. We were lucky to get a table with booking so last minute but I'm so glad we did! The service was great, the staff friendly, and the food delicious. It is a bit brighter than most restaurants so doesn't feel quite as cosy but the atmosphere wasn't affected with the buzz and busyness of thanksgiving. We had the fig and walnut flatbread and tomato bisque to start, roasted Turkey breast and next level surf and turf for main, and apple crumble and pumpkin pie for dessert. Everything was excellent but the highlights for me were the steak which was cooked exactly to my liking and not the slightest bit chewy, and the pumpkin pie which was excellent (although I am Scottish and have never had pumpkin pie before this). We also shared the Fall Away and Irish Pumpkin cocktails which were also excellent! For my first Thanksgiving dinner it was definitely a win! If I lived in the area I'd definitely be back :)

Would highly recommend the French dip, Caesar salad and potato soup. Clean, cute vibe, friendly staff. Loving everything here

$5.40 for a large drip coffee, are you out of your freaking mind?!!!! You put gold sprinkles on that? Jesus Christ I got priced out of Brooklyn, I think I'm getting priced out of Catskills now too.

Super cute restaurant! Food and service was great! A couple of mishaps with our order (we were a bigger group) but our waitress kindly made everything right! There was a a market going on next door that we went to after.

A fusilli pomodoro but received sauceless worm like pasta

There were only 2 reservation slots left for this day so we went ahead to make the reservation, but the restaurant was almost empty except for 2 other tables. Decor and ambiance was nice. To start, the water smelled weird and also tasted a little musky which was off putting. Drinks came out quickly but I was very disappointed bc the Paloma had no flavor of grapefruit or even sweetness and did not taste like an alcohol at all. The margarita was great. I ordered the steak and Frites medium rare and received medium well which was so so disappointing. Cooking steak the right temperature should be a basic, but 3 temperatures over is just concerning and was an indicator of the rest of the meal. It was dry and the chimichurri also had no flavor at all. The sauces on the side were basically Marina and a sour Mayo which did not go well with the steak. The worse part was the pomodoro. We ordered one with chicken and one without and both were absolutely terrible. The chicken was dry, there were grape tomatoes and not heirloom tomatoes as advertised on the menu, and there was little to no sauce. The pasta had to have been the worse thing. They advertised fusilli pasta and our came some long worm-like pasta. The worst part was that it was UNDERCOOKED. The dough was visibility RAW inside and the person who ate this ended up on the toilet throughout the night and next day. We also ordered the jalapeño appetizer and it was extremely salty. The sauce was good but incredibly gritty and salty. Overall the whole meal was such a disappointment. For this price point, you'd expect the bare minimum to be cooked right. Fries were the only thing actually good

Sunday brunch was delicious. We had avocado toast with poached eggs and the cheeseburger. Beautiful renovation by Wylder, warm inviting space. Service was friendly, food was a bit slow to come out but was very good when it did arrive. Looking forward to going back again.

We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and while most things were enjoyable, the star of the meal--the 42 oz porterhouse--left us a bit underwhelmed. It had decent flavor, but it was served cold, which took away from the overall experience. We also asked for it to be sliced, but it came out only partially cut, which felt a bit odd and made it harder to share. While it's not on par with high-end steakhouses in Manhattan or Long Island, for what it is, Lily holds its own as a decent local spot. I'd definitely consider returning to give it another shot--there's potential here with a few tweaks.

Our meal here was a bit disappointing. Their menu is different from what was posted online. We came wanting to try the brussel sprouts. Online, they were described as crispy, but turned out to be roasted with pancetta. I was also eager to try the soft pretzel. Online, it mentioned it came with a three cheese sauce, but at the restaurant it was served with beer cheese, which I can't eat. The name of the restaurant literally has "cocktails" in it, but they were out of nearly all of their fall cocktails. That being said, we tried to redeem the experience. Our waitress was friendly and kindly let us know that the sulphur in the tap water might be irritating, so we ordered bottled. The house salad was nice and fresh, and I loved the tanginess of the lemon vinaigrette. The mac and cheese was a generous portion size. It was a bit bland and could've used a sharper cheese, but it was very creamy with a nice baked top layer. The broccoli side was tasty and well seasoned with garlic. The onion rings were very crispy and also a good portion. My husband had the New York steak and enjoyed how buttery it was. However, they initially forgot to bring him a steak knife and it was hard to flag down a waitress to get one. Overall, we left full, but our expectations were not quite met.

I would like to go back but they have so few options it's not fun or interesting. Yes the food is good. I wish I could get the "full" menu at the bar. I like the fact that you see food you don't see anywhere else up here and it is quality and well prepared. What really bothers us is that you must order everything up front. This is really unacceptable. My wife and I like to order appetizers with appropriate wine and then see which way we are going. Yes I understand it's easier on the kitchen but comm on: you only have three entrees!!!!! The bartending couple that work there are knowledgeable and professional. The wine is not kept behind the bar bit strangely kept on a table outside the kitchen. Really awkward. That being said we would like to go back but will not due to the aforementioned reasons. It's a shame this place could be great.

It's the kind of place where the floorboards have stories and the Guinness is poured with the respect it deserves. One of the coolest things about Jimmy's is the family legacy. The bar is a pillar of the local community, and if you're a fan of snowboarding, you've likely heard of John (Johnny) O'Connor. John grew up right here in Windham and went on to become a famous professional snowboarder (riding for brands like CAPiTA). His roots in the mountain culture are baked into the atmosphere of the pub, making it a "must-visit" for anyone who respects East Coast riding history. The Burgers: While the menu covers all the pub classics, the Jimmy O's Burger is the go-to. It's a no-nonsense, juicy mountain burger that hits the spot after a day of freezing temperatures. Pair it with a basket of "Jimmy Fries" and a pint of Murphy's Irish Stout. The Vibe: It feels like a true public house. You'll find a mix of muddy hiking boots, snow pants, and local regulars all sharing the same space. Entertainment: Jukebox & Felt The back of the pub is where the real fun happens: The Pool Table: It's almost always in use, serving as the center of gravity for the room. The Jukebox: It provides the perfect soundtrack to a night of "just one more drink." Whether it's classic rock or Irish folk, the music keeps the energy high without drowning out the conversation. Note: Just a heads-up that Jimmy O'Connor's was recently listed for sale to find its "next chapter" after 50 years of family ownership, so now is the perfect time to visit and experience its classic legacy!
