I'm a little embarrassed that as part-time resident of town for a few years, I've never made it to the diner. I think the earlier reviews dissuaded me, but I learned recently that the management changed. On a recent visit my partner and I shared an open faced turkey sandwich smothered with gravy, w/ sides of broccoli and fries, and a breakfast bowl with ham, potatoes, eggs and swiss cheese melted across the top of the mug. We enjoyed hearty portions, and a good meal. We got a blueberry turnover to go. Service was friendly and quick. Definitely worth stopping into. read more

I do not recommend this diner at all. We had been waiting for 45 minutes after ordering with no food on our table. The service quality was terrible and we had to cancel our order as it was taking too long, it was still not ready after 45 minutes of waiting.This is the worst restaurant I've been to. read more

Classic diner fare, polite service, our eggs are perfect, the hash is crispy. And truth be told, I have to order their cornbread every time I go, even if I know I am going to be too full to finish it all. (I take it home for a snack) Cash only, but they have an arm machine. What a great little spot. A place where the waitress knew everyone's name. A menu that covers all the breakfast and lunch staple with some real down home feel. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast and I had the meat lover's bowl. Hash browns, scrambled eggs, ham and bacon all smothered in a creamy sausage gravy. Exactly what I would cook for myself at home. My wife enjoyed the blueberry and walnut pancake special. Did I mention that I also had the griddle house made biscuit? Awesome. We finished up breakfast with the bread custard. An original recipe dating back over 50 years. Bravo Prattsville diner. We will be back very soon and I already have my order picked out!! read more

Went for lunch today and ordered a turkey club; two halves with chips, two pickle chips and macaroni salad, which had been made with way too much mayo. Turkey was initially salty, good but not great. Tried to the Cole slaw; much too much dressing. I make mine that has more mayo yet still tastes like a good Cole slaw. Disappointing. read more

We thought we would try the diner again after it changed management but nothing seems to have changed. The coffee is absolutely horrible. I don't know how that place is busy all the time and everyone is drinking the coffee, the food was mediocre at best. I had The Garbage breakfast, and it was garbage. The price was ridiculously high for the amount of food we received. read more

I really enjoyed this dinner. I was in the area staying at a beautiful villa for the weekend while on a snowboarding trip. I ended up going here to get some food the day I arrive. I really like dinners because the normally have lots of different choices and this dinner sure did have options. They had so may specials that it was so hard to decide what to get. I enjoyed the food so much that I cane back again with a bunch of friends. I had the Chen wings the first time I went and the fried shrimp the second. They made a home made cocktail sauce and it was pretty good. I have never had it like that before. I will be try that again next time. read more

My wife and I had a great lunch today . This restaurant is under new ownership . The owner Mike is in the kitchen and certainly knows what he is sending out to the very good front end staff . Truly mediocre at best. Lame diner food and the coffee and water were undrinkable as it seemed they didn't get the detergent off them completely. I saw two other customers send back their food in the 20 minutes I was there. read more

We heard it was under new management, so we thought we would give it another try. The coffee is still disgusting. There's not enough sugar or cream in the world to make it taste good. I gave her back to coffee and asked for a cup of tea, it was Lipton tea so it was good. The breakfast was, ok. Good serving size. I had the garbage bowl, and the potatoes were not seasoned at all. It was kind of bland. My husband had two eggs with Corn beef hash, bacon, and sausage. Not sure what pig they got their bacon from but it definitely was not a local pig. The service was very good, the waitress was very friendly and nice. Very comfortable homey atmosphere, but the coffee was terrible. I must say, their muffins look delicious. I don't feel That breakfast was worth $40 read more

Absolutely amazing diner!! Came in with my group of 14 friends for brunch and they were so sweet and accommodating -- purely A1 service!! We're all very satisfied and couldn't be happier with the swiftness of service and the amazing food. We all want to thank you for having us and especially Tracy! Couldn't be more grateful to have her as our waitress, absolutely wonderful. Sweetest woman I have ever met; even though she had to have a mask on you could tell she was always serving with a smile. July 20, 2018 Prattsville Diner: Two of us went for lunch at the diner. There were very few customers there, perhaps five people. We waited OVER 35 minutes for two sandwiches to be made. As we had waited so long, we asked to speak to the owner. The owner came to the table with two RUDE comments: "This is NOT McDonald's restaurant! This restaurant has been here ___# of years." We said to him, "You don't apologize for our long wait for two sandwiches?" "Sorry", he relunctantly offered. We will NOT return to the Prattsville Diner. read more

Such a great place! I was just passing through and stopped in for breakfast because of a lack of options in the area. I'm glad I did! I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the place was. I was honestly expecting it to be a dingy place with greasy, low quality food, but I was wrong! It was a cute, All-American Diner with a nice country log cabin feel. The sauces and jams are made in house. They sell main stream candy repackaged in general store packaging for an up charge. There's Windham and Catskill souvenirs. There's stuff made by local artists along with big box toys and items. There are a few cats living in the store and restaurant - all are super friendly. The restaurant is nice but the service is extremely slow and could be a touch nicer. There are multiple signs talking about the whole world being understaffed. Just be prepared to spend a while. The waitress was fine but clearly very busy. We had mentioned wanting to get dessert at the beginning but when we were done eating, she had just brought us our check - we were too fully anyway. I had the garden salad sandwich on farm bread. The avocado wasn't the freshest and there was only one tiny piece of tomato - this will probably be a good sandwich in peak summer. The sandwiches came with chips and salsa. The store made mango salsa is delicious. Locally made root beer in a bottle was delicious and unique. The baked goods were quite pricey (almost $9 for a small square of raspberry bread). The bathrooms are on the otherwise by the kids toys.

They sell Housemade products like baked goods, syrup, sauces, etc. very friendly staff. We went on my bday and they gave me a complimentary ice cream bday treat which was very nice. The "tbc" fries are excellent. Great menu selection and there's nothing you could go wrong with getting. Definitely recommend taking home their house made fresh baked pastries or bread. Super yummy and a great way to support this small business. No parking so you have to park on the street or a separate parking lot. But it's not too big as issue. No reservations needed. Give it a try!

My wrap had 2 pieces of frozen chicken tenders in it. This was really sad, considering it was $17. My husband had one of the skillets, which also clearly included some frozen food (i.e. the potatoes). We made the best of it, but definitely hope the food situation improves here. I wouldn't not recommend, especially if you're in a pinch, and given the limited options on the area. Also a nice place to come for a beer! They have outdoor seating as well.
