Located inside Lenox Mall by Bloomingdales. Black-owned business. Specialty: different variations of grilled cheese sandwiches. Friendly service. The food: the bread is perfectly toasted and soooo buttery. Don't be weirded out about the addition to collard greens in the sandwich. It marries well with the ingredients. Also, first glance the serving size for the soup is super small and the taste honestly isn't that great by itself. It's oddly spicy. HOWVEVER: dip the grilled cheese sandwich in it and it's perfect. It's the perfect amount for the sandwich serving and it's the perfect spice combination for the sandwich. We tried 2 different kinds of sandwiches and it paired nicely with both!
I ordered the ATL; it was pretty good, though I personally wasn't a huge fan of the sweetness component from the cornbread and would have preferred a more savory sandwich. The sandwiches also come with a small cup of tomato soup that's got a kick to it. Prices are a bit high for grilled cheese. Staff is friendly and vibes are good!
This was my 3rd visit and while I love the concept I don't think I can further support this business. The service was subpar. While we waited 25 minutes for our sandwich, the woman at the other table stated she had waited 40 minutes. The cook in the back came out and yelled at the server/cashier, "clear the tables and don't take anymore orders until we catch up!" We shared a midtown and while it was tasty, the minimal corned beef could have been warmer and the bread a little less brown. It was almost burnt!. The soup while hot was spicy and thick. I didn't like it. It was different than last time as I recall. The beverage options were limited. All items on the menu board were not available.
So I asked for the food to stay and it was given to me in a to go platter bc they didn't have any clean wooden trays they serve the sandwich on if you stay in to eat. There isn't a lot of space and their were only 3 employees one in which came in and jumped right on the register as another employee went into the back to assist. I asked what was recommended and was told the Atl so I went with that and requested no Swiss I was told it's a blend but don't worry I won't taste it so I trusted them. It took about 10-15min for my order and the sandwich comes with a sample size tomato soup that was pleasant. The sandwich had cornbread included in which I thought would be crumbles but was a whole slice in the middle which ultimately took over the sandwich. I only ate half of the sandwich as I ordered the Mac and cheese which was pre cooked and just heated up and served in a coffee cup with top. Not to mention here we are a few hours later and my stomach is in shambles and this is the only thing I've had all day. Let's just say for the $24 spent I'm very much disappointed.
The place is located in Lenox Mall and has a cute setup. It's very spacious to be in the mall. A friend and I were walking past it and decided to drop in. I didn't care for the sandwich I got because of the Mac and Cheese on it. The soup was yummy! However, it felt like I spent a lot on a little bit of food. It is located in the top level of Lenox Mall closest to Bloomingdale's. & Cheese is clean, bright, and comfort-chic. I love the tabletops with maps showcasing popular metro-Atlanta neighborhoods. Customer service was solid. Food and beverage always comes out in a reasonable timeframe. I ordered The Vinings (Smoked gouda and munster, lobster mac & cheese), The Little 5 Points (Seasoned sourdough, pepperoni jack, aged white cheddar, swiss cheese, gruyere, spicy pickles, honey), tomato soup, and banana pudding cheesecake, and pineapple ginger lemonade. During a prior visit, I have also enjoyed the Ormewood (Seasoned sourdough, vegan sausage, collard greens, vegan cheese blend, balsamic glaze, caramelized onions, portobello mushrooms). & Cheese truly elevates the humble grilled cheese sandwich. Every sandwich is pressed and dressed in front of you and they do not skimp on the cheese! I don't think you could go wrong with any of the sandwiches - it's more a preference of which sandwich excites your taste buds more. My favorite sandwich so far is the Little 5 Points. It is advertised as a play on sweet and spicy, but I think it's more of a take on sweet and tangy. The hint of spice in the pepperoni jack and pickles really balances the honey finishing drizzle. & Cheese is known for its gourmet sandwiches. However, I actually visit for the soup, which I personally think is one of the best in Atlanta, and their desserts. The soup is not chunky and is flavorful. I would recommend buying the large; the small is rather small and I love having soup to take to work for lunch. I also love the notion of dessert in a jar, and their cheesecakes (strawberry crack, banana pudding, and peach cobbler) are really good. My general rule of thumb is that you should order juices in label-less containers. The pineapple ginger lemonade has a good sweetness level and just enough ginger not to overwhelm the pineapple.
& Cheese is a very cool concept. I love a good grilled cheese, but would've never thought of the different combinations that & Cheese Atl provides. We ordered the Ormewood (vegan), ATL, and the Beltline. The sandwiches were really good! They each come with a bowl of tomato soup (a little on the spicy side). The restaurant gives a nice cafe feel, and service is pretty fast.
This was great experience for a quick casual dining spot. Located inside the Lennox square mall. On this trip I was with a friend visiting from out of town and I wanted her to have a lunch experience that she can't have at home. We ordered the beltline and split it and they provided us with a extra serving of the soup. It was the perfect combo, portion correct and flavored perfectly. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice with background music playing. Not too loud and the staff was amazing. Food was served piping hot and plated in a way I wasn't expecting. On my previous visit, I ordered to go so I wasn't aware of how nicely it would look when delivered to our table.
Have always wanted to try this spot but haven't til now! Came here with my partner and we split 1 full sandwich - the Grant Park! It was pretty good, didn't take too long to come out, and I appreciate that each sandwich is made fresh to order. Probably won't be back but really glad we went!
This is a simple and nice concept. The menu is board enough to have variety yet small enough to not feel overwhelmed. I loved the tables with all the different parts of Atlanta. Super cute. I had the ATL. It has Aged White Cheddar , Gruyère, Swiss Cheese , Gouda , Mac & Cheese , Collard Greens , Cornbread, Cup of Tomato Basil Soup. And it works! The cup of soup is the perfect compliment. I really wanted to try the pineapple ginger lemonade but it was freshly made and hot at the time. I was disappointed that they did not carry ice. Just felt a little strange for a restaurant. I missed out on trying a dessert but my sister with me says they are great. It was a tad hot in the spot but they did have fans so that helped. All in all, I will go back. Especially to try the lemonade and dessert.
Went to this location in early September 2023 - It smells really good when you are walking in the mall - nothing like a grilled cheese and tomato soup on a chill afternoon or evening. This is the thing, it comes across as a pop up shop. No real gas connections or fans pushing out the exhaust of smoke from the grilling - the set up is simple but it doesn't seem very, it just seems to me like the experience is more powerful when you have cooks wearing all white, covered faces and grins behind the masks. But you can't wish for everything... would I visit again, probably. The grilled cheese was tasty and light weight, perfect for the mall arena. Give them a try if you are a cheesehead/ Lots of cheese combinations that could cause your mouth to water

During our visit, we had a long wait (20 min.) from order to food being served, and it wasn't very busy. Allure was working up front and was friendly and helpful with menu selections. FOOD: We tried the ATL Classic ($15), their signature grilled cheese on seasoned sourdough, with aged white cheddar, gruyere, swiss cheese, gouda, mac-n-cheese, collard greens, and cornbread. We also tried the Little Five Points ($15), served on seasoned sourdough, with pepper jack, aged white cheddar, swiss cheese, gruyere, spicy pickles, and honey. Both sandwiches were accompanied by a small bowl of Tomato Basil Soup. The sandwiches and the soup were delicious. Bottled sodas were $3.50/ea. I would definitely recommend this place for a tasty lunch treat.
The new location has terrible parking! The new "look" is amazing! The pictures and the designs on the tables were pretty dope too! But to be totally honest, my food was not as good as it was my past few visits. It was literally just ok and the prices have been raised! They did not used to sell half sandwiches and why would I pay $14 for that!?? So I ordered a full with a side of mac n cheese (which I could've skipped because it wasn't great at all). This was an HOUR drive and unfortunately this time it wasn't worth it. Even the tomato soup didn't taste the same, it wasn't nasty but it wasn't delicious like it used to be. The four stars were for the look of the restaurant and the customer service, the food was an easy 3 star. read more

OPEN IN MIDTOWN- Just where you need it by the Fox Theater, Emory Hospital and visiting friends that live in Windsor. What you would not expect from grilled cheese. Think of a meal rolled into a sandwich. Ingredients are fresh and several made in house items with the complimentary tomato soup with your sandwich and the juices. Chef Alexander and his staff are very nice and friendly. Place is clean and a good vibe for indoor or outdoor seating. read more

My gawd!! This sandwhich was everything you could imagine soul food to be... on a grilled cheese! The flavor was so unmatched. I had crumbs everywhere on my clothes and didn't care! lol I'm on vacation but can't wait to get another one when I return. This is now going to be a staple for me anytime I'm in the mall. read more

This is my second time coming to this place, and something is up with the soup! lol I'm just wondering, how hard can it be to upkeep soup? I personally really enjoy dipping classic grilled cheese with tomato soup.. I'd assume the sandwiches they put together would be great for dipping. The first time they said they were out of soup, I didn't waste time trying. Despite there being no soup I wanted to try them out this time. They were out of other things as well.. . The design is very clean and chic, I also enjoy the aroma. If you get a full sandwich beware, it can be heavy lol I should've gotten a half. Great for someone who can handle a full, for good value. I got the Atlanta.. I think that's what it was called. It included greens, cheese, Mac & cheese, and cornbread. The cornbread was sweet! The Mac was a bit much, but I should've expected that. The service is eh. The cashier who is young lady doesn't seem to be enthused to be there. There's a gentleman with dreads, hair all out, hat titled... Management needs to do better. This place seems to have a lot of potential! I'd like to give this place another try. Hopefully I can catch them when they have soup :) read more
Yooooooooooooooooo, took me back to my broke childhood with the grilled cheese but hit me with the expensive taste. Real talk thought, it was worth every penny. Came with my daughter and wife. We ordered the vinings x2 and the ahhhhh forgot (look at the pic). They were grilled to perfection, tasty and paired well with their tomato dipping sauce. It was $21 for a grilled cheese sandwich but eggs are $10 a carton so . To top off out lunch we opted in for dessert. I had the peach cobbler and the wifey n child had the turtle. We had a great lunch break while shopping. We will be back read more

The grilled cheeses were delicious. I ordered the ATL and my bf got the Buckhead. I preferred the Buckhead esp with the mushrooms. They were out of collard greens for the ATL. The soup was cold and we had to wait 30-40 min for our order. read more

Omggggg. I just left brunch and came here with a friend who was getting something to take home... The College Park is amazing!! I don't even like grilled cheese like that. Perfectly toasted and cheesy!! I just had a bit of the soup and it was good but the grilled cheese was the best I've ever eaten. I only have pictures of myself stuffing my face with it, Sorry.. I'll snag some more when i return .. and i will return! The music is a vibe . read more
Hey Family ! It's Bailey again ! Today I wanted to try something that's been on my list for a couple years now. I should have BEEN came here. The best tomato basil soup AND grilled cheese sandwiches I ever had IN MY LIFE. The lobster one was seasoned to perfection and the midtown with corn beef was by far my favorite of the two and if you get that add caramelized onions like I did ! Great service and a peaceful and clean environment to get yourself a unique craft of a grilled cheese sandwich. 10/10 experience for myself ! read more

The food was actually really good. The customer service was good also. The restaurant is very cute but was very VERY warm which was uncomfortable to sit in so wound up sitting outside in the hall near the restaurant. I will definitely return cuz I love a good grilled cheese and tomato soup!!! read more

The food was great and the vibes were immaculate. I would definitely come again to try a new grilled cheese. The service was excellent although it would've been nice to provide the guy with a little help, he was taking orders, making the sandwiches, and serving the food (jeez). read more
I was shopping in Lenox a few weeks ago and was super hungry. I remembered I've been wanting to try this place, so this was my opportunity to do so. I walked in maybe 20 mins before closing and there was one other person in there. They were cleaning up, but the lady stopped to take my order. I originally wanted the Beltline, but didn't want the collard greens on the sandwich and wanted them on the side. To do this, it would have been an upcharge, which I didn't think was worth it. I opted for the college park and thoroughly enjoyed it, along with the tomato soup. It was all of the remnants of my childhood. I'll definitely be back to try some other options in the future. I loved the concept. If you're in Lenox, check this place out. read more
Today is Father's Day--a day in which fun and smiles have been replaced by sadness for me ever since my father passed away 6 years ago. My mom and I wanted comfort food for lunch and came in today while shopping at Lenox. I had been interested in trying this place for a while, and today we finally made it in. I am so glad we did. The service was kind and friendly. The ambiance is casual and clean. The grilled cheese is delicious. My mom and I shared the "Buckhead" (Seasoned Marble Rye, Aged White Cheddar, Gruyère, Smoked Gouda, Portobello Mushrooms, Caramelized onions , Basalmic Glaze , Truffle oil , Cup of Tomato Basil soup). It was so buttery and flavorful. We enjoyed dipping it in the tomato soup. I can't wait to come back and try more. Thank you for serving us today. read more

Has to be easily the most "Stay away" restaurants in and around Atlanta to me for its service. Never have I been fed up with a service like this and wouldn't recommend going here if you value your time and have some respect for yourself! (You can read the Background to understand more else you can move on to the food, service & ambience part). We ordered ATL and CollegePark. Both of them had no meat and we confirmed it as well while ordering. They came with a small cup of Tomato Basil soup. ATL Sandwich - A grilled sandwich with a sourdough bread in the center with Mac&Cheese and some cooked Collard greens. It tasted a bit sweet and wouldn't exactly say it was great. Was just okay. Wouldn't recommend it. CollegePark Sandwich - A grilled sandwich with different cheeses. It was to me really really great. If you have been to a brewery, you might find this under Kids Menu at times. But never the less this was really good. Tomato Basil soup - Came in a very tiny container and tasted like Marinara sauce in a liquid consistency. It was okay. The ambience was decent but a some amount of food was spilled all over the floor. The service was too slow since there was only one guy doing everything. Even if the food isn't good I'm someone who expects good service and hospitality. We didn't ask for a ToGo yet he gave us stating it's almost closing time and he needs to wrap up. That was totally unfriendly and unacceptable. OVERALL: A very average restaurant with sub standard level of service. The sandwiches aren't that great. We reached around 7:15PM and they had considerable amount of people in the restaurant. We had a look at the menu and then the cashier/ cook/ waiter came and took our orders. Never did he mention that he can offer only ToGo nor did he even give us a choice. He happily took the order and started preparing some one else ToGo order. To my surprise he was the only person working and doing all the things by himself. He made the sandwiches for someone else (ToGo), packed them, took the trash out, cleaned the grill and then started to make our order by 7:40 I believe. In 5 minutes he completed and without even consulting us, he started to put them in the ToGo box. I noticed and I mentioned I didn't ask for a ToGo, I wanted 'For here'. At around 7:45 he's saying he's getting ready to close the restaurant and he said he can't allow us to do Dine in. I asked him "isn't 8PM the closing time?" to which he repeated the same thing that he needs to close. He didn't even care to mention that while taking the order. I was super hungry and equally pissed off at this kind of service and response. I don't even understand why did I even tip him. A Big Noooooo to this place especially for its service. If you got something to do other than running a restaurant, do that and politely let us know when we entered or while taking the order at first place. read more
Honestly I never knew a grilled cheese could be *gourmet* but dang this was delicious. Visiting Atlanta from St. Louis and I desperately wish we had one of these in the Lou. Got the ATL grilled cheese which was a variety of cheeses with Mac and cheese and collard greens, then we also got a side of Mac and cheese. The sandwich itself, to come with a side of soup, was a decent price. I was a bit suspect of the Mac and cheese being about 9$, but it was a generous portion of well seasoned and creamy deliciousness. Service was also awesome, very quick despite them being packed and throughout our time we were checked in on. Definitely recommend & Cheese ATL! read more

Wow so glad I finally stopped in at & Cheese. The ATL sandwich was my favorite thing I have eaten in a long time. How they managed to get cornbread, greens, Mac and cheese and more into that sandwich without overloading the bread is beyond me. Unlike many grilled cheese/tomato soup combos I've had, the soup actually lifted the sandwich instead of making it heavier. It was light and refreshing - a tomato lovers tomato soup. Can't wait to get through the rest of the menu. Hope &cheese is around for a long time. Ate the food too fast before grabbing a pic but attaching pics of their menu. read more
Gotta love Instagram. I had no idea this place existed until I saw an IG post in it. Then again, I try my hardest to avoid shopping at Lenox Square. It's a rainy day and I have plenty of time to roam around the city. Came here a little after 10am for an early lunch. I was the only customer inside the store. Got the Buckhead grilled cheese because it has no meat and a few veggies in it. All sandwiches come with a small cup of tomato soup. There was a little bit of a wait but I would say if you have the extra time, their sandwiches are worth it! My favorite sandwich was their ATL. I loved the Mac and cheese and cornbread. read more

I ordered the Buckhead with mushroom onion and on marble rye it's was very good the have many other options I can recommend to try Only draw back went in near closing time they were moping the floor with fabuloso in which I have a bad reaction to the smell but other then that really recommend the options to try the grilled sandwiches read more

They got us with samples and I loved it. From Emerald's amazing customer service, attentiveness and favorite sandwich suggestion, to their flavorful tomato basil soup. I would definitely suggest this place to friends and I would most definitely come back again. The grilled cheeses here are like none I have ever tasted before. The server was polite, well-mannered, and had the menu down packed. The music fitted the ambiance, the price was right, the tomato soup was seasoned to perfection, and lobster mac&cheese sandwich was chef's kiss 10 out of 10! read more

First time at the location and was so excited to try because of IG. The restaurant has Neutral colors and contemporary decor and played soft music which I love. Me and mom their signature cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Te sandwich was a bit on the sweet side for me but tasty my mom loved it. It was large enough for us to share which was great because I wanted to try out the location. The tomato soup was AMAZING. Overall a great experience and meal read more

Me and my lady came here based on a recommendation from a friend and maaaaaannnn this SLAPS. I'm old school with my grilled cheese kraft slices, white bread, and butter, dassit! So when she was telling me all the stuff they put on these off rip I was a non-believer, who the heck wants collard greens on a sandwich???........ we'll now, I DO! Bruh the combination of Mac n cheese, cornbread, and collard greens was immaculate! The young lady serving us was a pleasure and the gentleman on the grill knew his work. My girl had the vegan joint and that was cool too, had a lil balsamic drizzle on it, but listen the Mac, collards, and cornbread is the way to go! Extra points that the spot was clean too read more

OMGOSH THIS WAS DELICIOUS! I never thought a collard green, Gruyère, cornbread sandwich would be DELICIOUS! It was so darn good I threaten to date the chef. Yeah! It was that good. You are added to my most frequent list. Telling my friends for when they visit. The young man behind the counter was supper nice and gave me entrée suggestion! Thank you. The look of the restaurant is open and clean. The seating is comfortable. The air is clean and not smoky or stinky. The white subway styled tiles in the kitchen and counter show you have to keep the place clean. I love clean. read more
