This was me and my husband's first time dining at Grits and Eggs Breakfast Kitchen. We were greeted by the staff members at the front desk, bar and the waitress. Everyone was nice. I forgot our waitress name, but she has locs and very pleasant and attentive. We started out with drinks and then we placed our order. I ordered the fried fish and grits. My husband ordered french toast, fried hard eggs, house potatoes, and bacon. Our food was so delicious. I didn't taste any of my husband's breakfast, but mine was delicious. Man...they must be having a rough day. We walk in, we wait, maybe 3 tables are seated, after 5 minutes of no one greeting us at the host stand. We signal to a waiter who motions that we can seat ourselves. We sit, we wait 10 minutes. We ask the same waiter who motioned at us to sit if he could take our order. He said "one sec...let me see where your waiter is". Waiter finally comes. She is charming. Takes our order. Ok maybe we are back on track, let's give this place a chance. Yall we ordered eggs. 30 minutes go by...no food. A couple tables who arrive after us are getting their food. We ask the waitress. "We had to boil the water for your eggs." 20 more minutes go by. Food comes. Poached egg has zero runny. The 'Eggs over medium' were overcooked and left off my friends plate upon waitress insistence... they come 5 minutes after he received his pancakes, potatoes; and sausage. Everything overcooked. The owner did come out and apologize, and the waitress did everything possible to make it right. So 2* instead of 1... but man, rough day for this restaurant--enough to ensure it was our first and last visit. read more

I woke up with an insatiable urge for pancakes and this place had nice reviews. We get there and the wait isn't long. We sit and the first order was for the French toast combo with scrambled eggs and bacon. I order pancakes, egg whites and bacon on the side. The waiter informs me that they're out of egg whites. I'm confused because I just heard an order for eggs and if you have real eggs then you should have egg whites. So I ordered the salmon, potatoes, candied yams and I still needed those pancakes. The salmon, requested medium, was overcooked and candied yams were a bit bland and watery. The potatoes were seasoned well. However the star of the show was definitely the pancakes. They were light, fluffy and very flavorful. The vanilla really came shining through. The French toast was equally as good. The only downside was the menu said capote so I was expecting strawberry capote, instead of a sprinkle of strawberries. And for an additional $2.00, this was disappointing to say the least. It was my and sisters first time and were not impressed, we each ordered the chicken & waffles, and I ordered the biscuits & sausage gravy. The chicken wings were tiny the waffles were undercooked and the biscuits & gravy was one step above being served cold. The good service could not make up for the lukewarm more seasoning needed food. Having previously lived in Atlanta it's surprising how bad the food was, the bill came to $80 for two people, I felt ripped off, will never be patronizing this place again, could have had the same food serve hot and for a whole lot less and better tasting at Waffle House. read more

I ordered the French Toast - Bananas Foster style with Home Fries (included onions and peppers) and Eggs fried hard. I opted for no breakfast meat. French Toast - Bananas Foster style came with two brioche bread slices, one slice of strawberry and two blueberries as well as a side of fosters sauce and two syrups. The bread slices were big and thick and with the fosters sauce amazing. I did not even need to use syrup. - Grade A+ Home Fries - although I got very little onions and peppers, they were seasoned and cooked exquisitely. I did not need to add any seasoning, and that is rare for me with potatoes. Bonus note: they supplied every condiment one may need (ketchup, salt, pepper, hot sauce, butter and syrup). Grade - A+ Eggs - fried hard, came with two eggs. They were cooked to perfection and lacked nothing. - Grade A+ I highly look forward to eating from here again, and am glad to know they have multiple locations. Looking for a breakfast place while visiting. This place had good Yelp reviews so I came here. Got the Grits & Eggs & did not like the soft eggs with egg-white showing. That's on me as I should have specified hard scrambled eggs. The grits were creamy & very hominy. Delicious. The best thing were the soft, fluffy biscuits. I'm old enough that my Grandmother made every baked item from scratch. The biscuits here brought back some of my best memories of my 'Big Mama's', cooking. The bacon was ok & I had the best unsweetened tea this side of the Tennessee River ;-) Ambiance here is very modern-day Atlanta. They have a full bar with tables & chairs in the middle & booths liking the walls & and late 70s/early 80s R&B playing on surround speakers. My waitress (Erica) was very attentive. I showed up and waited 40 minutes in the restaurant for my food while every 5-10 minutes someone told me it was being "packed up right now". This was an interesting experience. The restaurant was not crowded but it took 12 minutes to seat our party of 5. We tried to order drinks but the bar had no bourbon, no tonic water. It took another 14 minutes to get a coke. The waitress was very unsure and every kind of food we asked about, including chicken and ribeye, was not available. The order for Eggs Florentine took another 20 minutes. The order came with onions all over the plate, the hollandaise sauce had been broiled and was undistinguishable from the egg. Other members of the party had mac and cheese, which was too dry to eat. Pork chops and salmon were edible. Eating the entrees was not easy because only forks were delivered in paper wrappers, like a cafeteria, and no knives were even offered. ??? The final straw was no soap in the bathrooms. You cannot see this place from the main street. There is plenty of parking. The venue is on the bottom floor. It is bright, clean, and smells good in here. Bartender was extremely nice. She made a couple of food recommendations and talked with me as I waited for my food. I ordered the fried red snapper with creamy grits and I added blackened shrimp. Adding 6 pieces of shrimp cost $12. The fried red snapper was fried to perfection. I really liked the grits and the creole sauce on the grits. This place serves good food and is a nice spot. One word: fantastic!!! Grits and Eggs has been on my radar since they opened. When my friend wanted to meet here for lunch, I enthusiastically said yes! When you walk in, you feel like you're at home. From the country, diner-like atmosphere, to the old school music soundtrack playing in the background, I knew the food was about to be bussin' lol. The food was amazing, so I was thrilled to see they've opened a new spot in the Summer Hill neighborhood, much closer to home. I ordered the Two Pancakes, Grits, Eggs, and Bacon Breakfast through DoorDash, and it did not disappoint! The portion size was generous, especially for the price, and everything was cooked to perfection. The pancakes were fluffy, the bacon was crispy, and the eggs were just right. But the star of the meal for me was the grits--seasoned so perfectly that they didn't need a single extra thing. It's rare to find grits this good! The family atmosphere reminded me of establishments from the past when customer service meant more than just a quick smile and a seat. From start to finish, my experience here was exceptional. Let me tell you, I have been to New Orleans, and the beignets here could outshine those! They were fresh, soft, and fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Do yourself a favor and order some. We also tried an omelet, French toast, and eggs. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted wonderful. Higher end diner vibes, and I'm not mad at it. Situated in a two floor strip mall, the location is easy to find and has plenty of parking. The restaurant is large as well. The diner feeling comes from rows of tables and lots of chrome. I longed for a booth, but since the food was served quickly, the cafeteria set-up was fine. If it had been busier, I imagine it would have been loud as there was nothing anywhere to absorb sound. The menu seemed to have two focus areas, benedicts and grits. They also had traditional breakfast food like pancakes and the southern staple: chicken and waffles. I enjoyed jerk shrimp and grits that I ordered. The grits were creamy and flavorful, and the shrip was well-cooked and saucy. It was definitely a flavorful dish. There are other styles of shrimp and fish available for the dish as well. My companions enjoyed their respective chicken and waffles, and pancakes and eggs, but nothing to write home about. Service was excellent. Friendly and swift. I had to go looking for this place. My work office recently moved and put me nearby and I was looking for a lunch spot with more traditional southern food. But I wanted lunch not breakfast so I skipped over it a couple times. Then when I tried to find it I looked upstairs along Sidney and couldn't find it and ate somewhere else. So to get here you have to pull downstairs into the shopping center where the Marshall's and home goods are. I got the chicken wings which came with three complete wings, two sides, and corn bread for $20.21. Add some sweat tea and a tip and we will be looking at a $25 lunch. With tip mine was $28.50. I got grits because it's in the name and black eyed peas. Everything was good and well seasoned. I know this sounds weird, but the grits tasted fishy. I mean they tasted like the grits from shrimp and grits not the grits you have with eggs. They paired well with the wings but there was a fishy aftertaste that surprised me. The wings were cooked well but there were some feathers still sticking to ends. They could have been cleaned better. They were also pretty small wings. But they gave me 4 instead of 3 so I guess they realized they were small. The cornbread tasted like jiffy and the peas were from a can and had a bit of a hot viniger seasoning. I think they would have pared well with the greens. Not the greatest. But certainly good. Oh and they didn't give me any butter for the cornbread. I didn't ask for any but it was not offered. So why not 5 stars? Well price was one issue. I realize I am near Buckhead but $28.50 for three chicken wings just seems pricey to me. And that was one of the cheaper options on the menu. The omelets were a little better value but if you want the seafood be prepared for $40 a plate. That being said the service was first rate. The restaurant is new and clean and the atmosphere great. Busy but not crowded. A nice diverse Atlanta crowd with blue and white collar workers on lunch and families. I don't know if I found a go-to spot or not yet but it is certainly good enough for a return trip. read more

We were able to order and sit quickly, but to our surprise as soon as we sat down our food would follow but it came very cold, hard and un appetizing. The drinks were not sweetened at all. Would not recommend. Check their health code violations first (Grade 74 in Jan 2026). I received food paining as a result of eating from this location on 4/18/2026. I vomited at the table and several times in the bathroom before leaving (I thought I had eaten too much bc to make it worse the food was good), continue to vomit along the uber ride to my hotel, several hours in my hotel in pain, in the uber vomiting bile and in excruciating pain on the way to the emergency room. Several losses as a result of eating here. To this day no one has contacted me although I have called and left messages. The drinking water tastes bad too...overall it presented well but to be gravely sickened by the food is something totally different- they will be closed before the year is out. read more

Twice a server came out with our items and another tried to tell them it wasn't ours or intervening. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. There were weird stipulations on items on the menu. I asked could the boiled egg on the avocado toast be fried and was told that they could take off the egg but would be charged for a fried egg on the side. The food at Grits and Eggs is amazing, but the dining experience was definitely impacted by how incredibly hot it was inside the restaurant. It was so warm, I didn't even feel like eating anything fried--which is unfortunate because I came in hoping to try the fried snapper, but they were out of snapper anyway. The online waitlist doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose--you just get seated when you get there, so plan accordingly. I ended up ordering the grilled chicken sandwich, which honestly tasted like something I'd make at home (and that's not really a compliment). The Kraft American cheese on it didn't help either--would love to see real cheese used. The sandwich came with fries, which were a little too salty for my taste. The lemonade also tasted like a powdered mix, which was disappointing. That said, the sides were the real star of the show. The mac and cheese, collard greens, black-eyed peas, and yams were all delicious, super flavorful, and came out hot and fresh. I'd honestly come back just for the sides alone. Service was friendly at the beginning, but once the food arrived, we had a hard time getting water refills. Also, again--it was so hot inside that it really distracted from the experience.
