Bananas were the fruit of the day. Would have relished a fruit salad. Drinks - would have enjoyed a juice or juice blend. Place is noisy with cement walls, especially if there are kids around. What a wonderful surprise inside Atlanta History Center! Food is mostly lighter fare of soups/salads, which is perfect snack while visiting the museum. My choice was the turkey chili which was wonderful, also had refreshing iced tea. Others in my group had the salads which they enjoyed. Service is simple where you order from the counter, get your order, grab a table to eat. Line at the counter can be long, but it moves quickly. Free WiFi here too. I've been wanting to try out Souper Jenny's for quite some time now, and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to this week because it was even better than expected! This location is actually inside the Atlanta History Center just to the left upon entrance, and also connected with Brash Coffee Shop. It's a beautiful space, with two-level seating options and great *free* wifi if you plan to get some work done during your visit like I did. There was quite a long line that began around Noon but it moved quickly and was well worth the short wait. Souper Jenny's is fast-casual where you order at the counter, and the soups/daily specials offered that day are written out on white boards leading up to the counter which is very helpful. They offered four different types of soups during my visit, and the Miso Lemongrass Chicken stood out to me the most and so I went with it! You can get a combo with two sides, or just order a la carte. They are obviously most well-known for their incredible homemade soups, but they also offer salads and sandwiches as well. I was also lucky enough to visit on a day where they were offering a BOGO deal for the soups in their refrigerator so of course I had to take advantage and grabbed a couple bowls of their chicken chowder soups to-go which I enjoyed reheated at home. It was honestly even more delicious than the miso! I know I will be back for another visit at this or another location in the city next time I am headed south towards the city! read more

Food: I had the chicken pasta salad, and half of the turkey and Brie sandwich. Both were quite yummy! The salad had great flavors, the pasta was cooked well, and the chicken was not dry at all. A little bit too much sun dried tomatoes for me, but also because I don't like tomatoes. The turkey in the sandwich with the jam and Brie was an excellent combo. I cannot remember if there was arugula in there (I think there was) but if not you should add some! The roll was good too, not dry and held together well. Service: They served everything in front of you and we had a nice lady check us out. The prices here were exceptional, I think we paid $30 for a sandwich, a pasta salad, roasted vegetables, a bag of chips, cookie, and a drink. Amazing deal. Atmosphere: I liked the laid back atmosphere, we stopped in for a snack while we were taking a break from the history center and took a minute to rest. I think that some people come here just for the food even if they weren't at the history center! Overall: Prices are great, food is decent, flavors are there, I would come here for lunch any day! was lucky enough to host an event with the amazing Atlanta History Center recently and while checking our wonderful guests in, I got to chatting with Laurie of AHC about Souper Jenny's which is located within the building. After seeing guests go in and out of their doors while sitting at the table and Laurie's reassurance that it was really as great as I have heard, I couldn't let the opportunity pass me. I arrived literally FIVE minutes before their Sunday closing time, lucky me! The cafe/restaurant was still buzzing with happy guests sipping coffee and slurping soup, I was tempted to stay and sit but exhaustion was kicking my butt. Although there was no more soup out for scooping, the team was loading up the display case with all types of soups and dishes. Yay! I struggled to find which soup flavor to go with but feel that I would have been happy with whichever I chose. I ended up going with the Mexican Street Corn soup which was still warm when I grabbed it. The cashier was so kind and the transaction smooth. I headed out to my car and I'll admit, I started digging in immediately. Y'all. When I say that was some of the BEST soup I've ever had??? I love a good chowder, stew, chili, all of the soups. And the flavor that took over my tastebuds was heavenly. When I say I can't wait to go back? Omg. Next time, I just wont be foolish and only walk out with one quart. This place is my favorite weekend routine, a stop here with their rotating menu of soups, sandwiches, and salad, with honorable mentions of their different fresh baked cookies. My boyfriend and I go frequently, and love trying a different soup each time, I think my favorite though was the chicken corn chowder. I appreciate that they give information on all dietary restrictions, and have the option for take home soups and I've even seen premade dinners for 4. The service is quick because they have all the soups available and sandwiches are premade ready to pass out, and they will even let you taste test most of the salads and soups! First time trying Souper Jenny yesterday and I am not impressed. The soup I wanted was sold out by the time I got there at 5:00 pm. I wanted to taste the Manhattan Clam Chowder since that was the only soup that sounded good to me but was told they don't give samples. I wanted to get a bowl of it but was told I would have to buy the quart ($17) since bowls were sold out as well. I didn't understand what she was trying to explain to me - something about it being past the to-go time or takeaway time. I bought the clam chowder and it was UNEDIBLE!! I kept chewing and chewing and chewing the clams and had to eventually spit them out. Venue and Atmosphere Lots of seating is available, however the line is nonstop so you will need to really look for a seat. The restaurant has plenty of natural light and a colorful quote from Jenny herself is painted on the wall. Service The staff was friendly and smiling the entire time. Food and Beverages I had the turkey chili and she crab soup; both were delicious and full of hearty flavors. I was not really a fan of the salmon BLT, the salmon lacked flavor and the sandwich would've been better if it was hot. Still, soups the name of the game here, and both the soups I ordered were excellent. The sweet tea is also yummy without being diabetic, for all you true Southerners out there. Fairly good deal, made me feel like I was winning. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the line. My friend and I went to the History Center for the morning and early afternoon. We planned to eat lunch and expected to pay a huge price for "museum" quality food (aka concession stand) but we were presently surprised to find the cute restaurant Souper Jenny inside the museum. The line was long (which means it was good!) but it moved quickly. The food choices sounded so delicious that we had a hard time deciding what we wanted. The staff was also extra friendly! The pick two combo (2 for $18) seemed pricey to us at first but when we got our food and saw how much there was for the cost, we decided it was a pretty good deal. And the food...oh wow!! It was delicious! You can tell that they use fresh ingredients. We are too far to visit this location again but we plan to give the Roswell location a visit soon!! I'm a fan of Souper Jenny's healthy soups, salads, and sandwiches made with fresh, seasonal, and locally-grown ingredients. There should be more of these types of restaurants. This is a small Atlanta chain with four locations: Buckhead (this location), Brookhaven, Westside, and Decatur. I had no idea Souper Jenny's Buckhead location moved inside the Atlanta History Center until a recent visit. Souper Jenny's old Buckhead location on East Andrews Drive closed on March 26, 2016 and this current location opened inside the History Center on April 2, 2016. It's an excellent addition to the History Center, a venue which I love (I'm getting married here). Souper Jenny is located next to the main entrance to the History Center. It has its own entrance. You can also enter the restaurant from within the History Center and from the History Center's bookstore and gift shop. The restaurant has a really nice multi-level space that is shared with Brash Coffee (opened January 2018). The interior sports two-story-high floor-to-ceiling windows with an open, communal, bookstore-type feel. The atmosphere is casual, relaxing, and roomier than the other Souper Jenny locations I've been to so far (Brookhaven and Westside). It's a great lunch spot. The restaurant's menu constantly changes. They always have a small variety - about a dozen selections at any given time - of interesting and nutritious soups, salads, and sandwiches (and sometimes more) with more hot soups during the wintertime and more cold soups in the summer. A few examples of menu items from the day we visited include an artichoke, spinach, and blue cheese soup, a jeweled quinoa salad with grapes, cranberries, arugula, mint, basil, and white balsamic, and a warm turkey meatloaf sandwich with Havarti cheese and Sriracha aioli. Pricing during our visit was as follows: Soup - cup/bowl/quart - $4/$7/$12 Salad - half/full - $4/$7 Sandwich - $7 (peanut butter and jelly $6) Iced tea, soda, bottled water - $2 Lunch combo - $14 (any two menu items plus a roll, fruit, cookie, and drink) You stand in line to order and plates are prepared in assembly line fashion. You can see and even taste the food before deciding what to order. One thing I like about Souper Jenny is you are free to sample most of the menu items. I've always ordered the $14 lunch combo at Souper Jenny. Here are the combos we went with this time: * Spicy avocado and cucumber soup, avocado stuffed with tuna salad, roll, fruit (banana), cookie, and drink * Chilled cantaloupe gazpacho with Paleo chopped salad with butter lettuce, radicchio, veggies, and avocado dressing, roll, fruit (banana), cookie, and drink In general, the food was fresh and delicious. I enjoyed everything. The spicy avocado and cucumber soup was particularly flavorful and refreshing. It was addictive. The avocado stuffed with tuna salad was fairly straightforward. What I appreciated about Souper Jenny's tuna salad was it wasn't too mayonnaise-heavy. It was also nice and chunky. Admittedly, I didn't like the chilled cantaloupe gazpacho as much as I thought I would. The spicy avocado and cucumber soup was definitely better. However, the gazpacho wasn't bad. It was light and could have used more flavor. The Paleo chopped salad was yummy. The colorful veggies were cool and crisp and the avocado dressing was quite tasty. The rolls and bananas were standard. The bananas were ripe and I noticed Souper Jenny had two brands for the taking from the fruit basket: Chiquita and Dole. The cookies were outstanding. Souper Jenny's cookies are underrated. Service was great. The staff was polite and efficient. They moved our Monday lunch crowd along at a brisk pace. Wonderful lunch spot! Souper Jenny is located inside the History Center on West Paces Ferry. It's a delightful spot with all the windows around the eating space to have a lot of natural light streaming in-- great location to meet up with friends in the Buckhead area. They have a $16 lunch combo where you can choose two of their $8 items (either soup, salad, or sandwich) and it comes with a cookie (chocolate chip or another flavor they have), plus a drink! I ordered a turkey sandwich with their chicken soup. The soup also came with a roll. The soup was so delicious and served at a nice warm temperature. My sandwich was also warmed and tasted with a sweet tinge since there was sliced apple in there. Finished off with my chocolate chip cookie (standardly delicious!) and sweet tea. SJ may warrant a four- or five-star review at some point, but I think much depends on the day and time you visit. On this day, there weren't any sandwich options I was really into, and at this time (2p), the soup and hot sandwich I ordered were served lukewarm (and the bread was no longer fresh). Also, I have an issue with the pricing. A soup and sandwich is $11, so about $3 more than you'd spend at, say, Panera. There's a $14 special that includes a larger soup along with a drink, cookie, and fruit, and that's a good deal, but it's also too much food, so... I would give this place 10/10 stars if I could. I had just landed in Atl and even though it was humid (as always) I landed in this random soup shop that was connected to a coffee shop. Naturally I had to try both. I went with My Dad's turkey chili which was amazing. When I eat soup, I want it to be filling and don't want to feel hungry after an hour. Chili was a great choice. It was well seasoned and so tasty! I also got a 1/2 rice salad on the salad that had grapes, pistachio, Farro, and other tasty ingredients. I was teleworking in the spot & waited out the lunch rush, but from the time they opened for lunch at 11 until around 2, the line stretched out the door! I was finally able to get my food without a wait at 2pm, so beware if you're in a rush. You will definitely have to wait for your food! But it was fantastic! read more

We got the Italian lentil which was perfectly seasoned and the BLTA (A for avocado). Located inside the Atlanta History Museum, this cozy little cafe is a welcomed stop either before or after your visit (or in our case, a pit stop in between galleries). I can't say enough about the tasty selections! With homemade recipes and local ingredients, you really can't go wrong with anything here. My wife and I kept it small, knowing we wanted to save room for dinner that night, and had a half-sized Greek feta salad and a cup of Dad's turkey chili. Both were exceptionally tasty and could tell we're made with care and quality ingredients! Iced tea to drink, and it was a great little meal!
