5th ave is the worst store :) do not try to return your items here they won't take them :D

I spent thousands of dollars at this particular store for the last few years. I never had any issues as I'm not a big fan of doing returns. But this time around I found an issue with one of the items and brought it back just a week later with a receipt. I was told by the lady at the register that they do not accept jewelry back. That would be helpful to know when I purchased it. When I was paying for it I was told by an employee! ..exchange is possible, always. So if your staff isn't properly trained and it falls on your customers to "figure it out" post fact. Guess what's gonna happen in? You will lose business and you get bad rep. I'm done.

And Other Stories is fun women's clothing store. It was very relaxing to walk through. Beautifully organized store with lots of space, natural lights and beautiful desert plants. The clothes are high quality, French/NYC style and some clothing pieces have pictures of a model in that outfit (which is somewhat helpful). Most of the clothes are in a neutral color, excepting some very bright red dresses. The bags are simple everyday bags, some are made from real leather. Clothing and bags on the first floor. Clothing, bags, and makeup on the second floor. I really enjoyed browsing the makeup and the nail polishes on the second floor. You can try the bright red lipstick, look for one with an orange tint and see if you look like the model in the pictures. So many nail polish hues! (Neutral colors for work and bright ones for your weekend and vacation times!) The problem was that a lot of the clothes and jewelry had labels of being designed in Paris or France and when you look at the label, it was made in Indonesia or China. And the prices are high for items made in those countries.

I came here on a Tuesday around 1pm. This store is big, spacious, and filled with natural light from the big windows. The way the store is organized makes it hard to look if I'm trying to find anything specific. There's no organization as far as categories in the same place. Like I wish there was a T-Shirts section, a denim section, a trousers section, etc. Instead, everything is very mixed. Styles, colors, fabrics. I came in to look for a black cupro T-Shirt. I found it in the back on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately, the smallest size was too large, and the price was a little too high at $49. If they ever make this shirt in one size smaller, I would consider getting it. I like that this brand carries nicer fibers, like wool knits, silk button downs, and cupro/modal/lyocell tops and pants. Anyway, beautiful store. Just hard to find things.

I love Muji. I am not much of a shopper. But if I walk by a Muji and I have a moment, I will stop…read morein. I try to resist impulse buys. I am confident, however, I will find something that appeals to my frugality. I do not know if Muji invented the concept of a brand that is not a brand, in the sense of not advertising itself, which ironically achieves its own iconic minimalist status. They have perfected it though. Last time, I got their 90 degree socks. I actually have concluded it is not a gimmick. I have some socks that slip off, at the heel, in particular if I wear them with runnig shoes. These do not. Everything I have acquired from Muji has gone into my regular rotation. The design is good, the quality is there, and the prices are not outrageous. So I commend Muji to you if you have a similar sense of not wanting to want, but being willing to browse. I'm confident you will find something on every visit.

If I could rate Muji's customer service separately from its products, it would be one star…read more The problem isn't that mistakes happen--it's how Muji handles them. My order arrived with missing items despite paying oversized shipping and waiting days for delivery. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of apologies with almost no action. After nearly a week of emailing back and forth, I was asked to provide my order details again. Why? The entire email trail already contains everything they need. Instead of reviewing the case history, each representative seems to start from scratch, wasting the customer's time because they can't be bothered to read their own correspondence. Muji has mastered the art of apologizing without actually resolving anything. Every response is filled with sympathy and promises to "look into it," yet there is no urgency whatsoever to fix a mistake that was entirely their responsibility. Once they have your money, you're left waiting while your case sits in limbo. For a company that promotes quality and simplicity, their customer service is anything but. Poor communication, zero ownership, endless delays, and customers forced to repeatedly chase for updates. Paying extra for oversized shipping clearly doesn't translate to better service when something goes wrong. If you're lucky enough to receive your order intact, you'll probably have a good experience. But if there's a problem, don't expect Muji to treat it like a priority. Based on my experience, their customer service is all apologies and no accountability.
