I've always liked this brand and this is my favorite loc to shop in person. The store is always super clean with a very big selection, it's not crowded at all, there's usually no line for dressing rooms, and the staff are nearly all very helpful and friendly. & Other Stories can be pricey, but it's pretty in line with other similar brands, and never absurdly more expensive. It's far far far better quality than Zara, and not much more $. Over the years, I've found dresses, jewelry, bags, etc. all at decent prices and that have lasted many moons. Loved that the sales associates grab your things and start a room for you while your shopping, and pulled shoe sizes super quickly. Definitely will be stopping in again. read more

I spent thousands of dollars at this particular store for the last few years. I never had any issues as I'm not a big fan of doing returns. But this time around I found an issue with one of the items and brought it back just a week later with a receipt. I was told by the lady at the register that they do not accept jewelry back. That would be helpful to know when I purchased it. When I was paying for it I was told by an employee! ..exchange is possible, always. So if your staff isn't properly trained and it falls on your customers to "figure it out" post fact. Guess what's gonna happen in? You will lose business and you get bad rep. I'm done. read more

And Other Stories is fun women's clothing store. It was very relaxing to walk through. Beautifully organized store with lots of space, natural lights and beautiful desert plants. The clothes are high quality, French/NYC style and some clothing pieces have pictures of a model in that outfit (which is somewhat helpful). Most of the clothes are in a neutral color, excepting some very bright red dresses. The bags are simple everyday bags, some are made from real leather. Clothing and bags on the first floor. Clothing, bags, and makeup on the second floor. I really enjoyed browsing the makeup and the nail polishes on the second floor. You can try the bright red lipstick, look for one with an orange tint and see if you look like the model in the pictures. So many nail polish hues! (Neutral colors for work and bright ones for your weekend and vacation times!) The problem was that a lot of the clothes and jewelry had labels of being designed in Paris or France and when you look at the label, it was made in Indonesia or China. Not sure why this place has so few stars. Maybe it's because I stumbled in during a sale or because this place was having a good day, but I think this is a great storefront location. Everything upstairs was on sale (except maybe cosmetics and the section towards the dressing room) so I snagged a dress at 70% off - and downstairs was all new arrivals. Everything was neat and actually on the hangers, unlike some other stores where everything is strewn all over the place like a tornado just hit it. My cashier was super friendly. The store is neat AF. Sizing for the company in general is totally off, but just make sure you try on before you buy. Otherwise, no complaints here! read more

I came here on a Tuesday around 1pm. This store is big, spacious, and filled with natural light from the big windows. The way the store is organized makes it hard to look if I'm trying to find anything specific. There's no organization as far as categories in the same place. Like I wish there was a T-Shirts section, a denim section, a trousers section, etc. Instead, everything is very mixed. Styles, colors, fabrics. I came in to look for a black cupro T-Shirt. I found it in the back on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately, the smallest size was too large, and the price was a little too high at $49. If they ever make this shirt in one size smaller, I would consider getting it. I like that this brand carries nicer fibers, like wool knits, silk button downs, and cupro/modal/lyocell tops and pants. I came in to return items without a receipt and was told that I could only receive store credit. Fine. The associate helping couldn't figure out the system so someone else came over to help. She asked for my card transaction to create a receipt. After the return was completed and I was refunded, she proceeded to lecture me (loudly) on how I need to make sure I have my receipt because this isn't a normal thing that they do, that she's the only person that can do this for me and if she wasn't there, then I wouldn't have been able to get a refund. Very confused why I owe her my life all of sudden... I never asked for a special favor from this woman and was happy to get my store credit regardless. read more

Got earrings there and tried returning the next day I was told I cant return earrings and that there is a note about it on the receipt.. well you should train your staff so they inform customers about your return policy. I've shopped here a couple times, mainly looking for classic and french clothing silhouettes. Everytime, I've gone to checkout, the cashier would grimace at me, as if I've done something insulting or unholy. At first I thought these workers innately hate me, or maybe they thought they knew me or someone that looks like me. I'm a kind and hardworking person, so it was very inappropriate for them to have such disdain for a stranger, for whatever reason that is best known to them. After reading some reviews on Yelp for this store, I realized that I'm not the only one. So, shoppers, it is not you. It's them. Terrible customer service, with workers that act snotty towards consumers. If you ever think that they cross the line, please consider reporting it to NYC Consumer Affairs and taking notice of the worker's name. As far as the clothes go, you can find some interesting pieces here with a hefty pricetag. It's mostly made in China which is ironic since they boast about their French/Stockholm/L.A. ateliers. I won't go through the trouble shopping here again and instead go to Zara across the street. For French designs, I'll go straight to the source. read more

Very similar to other reviews, my biggest complaint is the horrendous service I received. I purchased a pair of sandals there for $80, which I wore once before they completely tore apart. I went back and explained the situation, that I wanted to know whether I could return or at least get some store credit - $80 is not nothing! But the saleswoman just looked at them and said that no, they're "clearly worn" and can't be returned. Of course they were worn - that's the whole point. I asked if there was anything at all that she could do, and she just flatly said "no." Stores like this should definitely have a more forgiving policy around returns, especially if it's a product defect. But even if there's nothing the employee can do, the least they can do is provide kind customer service and be a tiny bit empathetic. read more

Every lady needs to shop on Fifth Avenue when visiting NYC. This store is brightly lit which enables you to see the true color and quality of items. The downstairs has more casual clothing items and inexpensive jewelry. The upstairs is well worth visiting to find more trendy clothes, bright colors and pretty much anything you are looking for. The shoe section was well merchandised and the styles were on point with trends and forward fashion thinking. The mirrors are very large and the staff is more than willing to help. This place is a bit on the expensive side but, to me you get what you pay for and you get quality here. read more

Horrible customer service. The clothes are great stylish basics, low quality material, hit or miss cut, and a little over priced for the quality. But again you can find some interesting pieces. Unfortunately they appeared understaffed and the sales associates are rude and unhelpful. I dealt with one in particular this evening who was beyond rude and border line harassing my sister and I for something petty and for something that could have been avoided if she was doing her job in the first place. Considering how rude the sales associates are I'd walk across the street to Zara or go to COS for similar clothing. The clothes appear lovely in beautiful material but the sizing is way off! Everything is smaller than normal which explains why a lot of the clothes often seem to be in sale. The online store is ridiculous, I made payment for a top twice; my order did not go through but the payment did- twice! I had to email customer services twice for a response and received a message which did not even answer my problem. I eventually got my money back but the service was useless! Big improvements are needed to online customer services ASAP! read more

I went to visit this store on a Sunday early afternoon. This place is super organized and pricey!! Anyway, I purchased some socks they were $7.00 I hand over a $20 dollar bill and the cashier, rings me up and hands me over the receipt without my change back. Then she stared at me. So I stared back and I was like "Yeah I am going to need my change back." Is she kidding me?! $20 for one pair of socks. She merely apologized and called the manager over. It sounded like that wasn't the first time this has happened. Nope I won't go back! I was in a rush, so I am pretty sure that if I wasn't paying attention, they would be okay with not returning the change. I didn't appreciate her non-chalant attitude. Worse customer service ever. First they said they could help, then they said they could only look up 7 days of receipts, the. Came back and said they could look up 14 days but my bank statements were wrong and couldn't help. If you shop here make sure you don't lose the recipes because theyll treat you like your stupid. We actually went to the one in the World Trade Center. I found a pair of shoes I really liked and wanted to try on. However, finding someone to WAIT on my was, well, I had to go in the back room because the only person on the floor in the entire store was a man cleaning the displays. He pointed me in the right direction but I could only find one person even pretending to work. She got me the shoes in one size (I told her 9-9.5; she brought me 9's) and dropped the box on the bench next to me and disappeared. The shoes were too small. I would have tried on a pair larger but, since the "sales" person had disappeared I came to the conclusion that either 1) she really didn't give a darn if she sold anything and/or 2) she felt she was wasting her time because I'm not a 20 something.....hmmmm.....I have a credit card with no spending limit....so it has to be option 1. Anyway, she blew a guaranteed $150 sale. I hope she gets paid on commission......I'll never set foot in ANY of their stores nor will I bother with shopping online. If they can't hire SALES people they apparently aren't really interested in selling. read more

The merchandising is so appealing to they eye and the lighting is amazing! The fitting room lighting wasn't harsh and I was able to clearly see how everything looked on me which is why I didn't hesitate to purchase a $95 jacket that probably won't keep me warm. The Asian girl with the long hair was extremely helpful in the fitting room and the cashier girl was extra nice as well! I absolutely will be back. I refuse to spend money in Zara across the street when the "other stories" offers great quality and cute smiling girls to go along with my shopping experience. read more

Like I am going to bother them minutes early to opening' and it was time to open. Not one of the staff said Hello. They was so completely rude. And the modeled outfit photos above the racks do not match items on the rack????? Their clothes are not cheap and I will NOT spend my dollars with a store who isn't helpful or give 2 hoots if I am there. I was sadly disappointed when I have purchased shoes in the past I loved.
