Generally the clerks are very, very helpful and I wish I knew the name of the particular one who helped me with a hat hoop question. Today, however, she was not there and had the not so pleasant experience with Margie there! I went in because I wanted to replace the needles on my PR. I saw a package of 10 that said universal and what I asked was what they he universal actually meant. She proceeds to ask what machine I have and says it will work and wouldn't let me talk or ask questions, she kept talking over me. Needless to say I bought them. When I got in the car I started researching and the universal refers to the needle point and the fabric versatility but not necessarily the machine. Further research I discovered this needle should not be used on the PR. Brother also had a different recommendation. I go back and to exchange them and when I shared the information, she didn't want to even assist me! I asked them to credit my account and left. I am so disappointed but as much as I can, I'll be ordering on line. In addition when I got home I realized they charged me twice for a spool of white sewing machine thread, two different prices. There was a question as to how much it was and I guess she charged twice and didn't take the first one off. I am so sad this all happened because I love this store.

I purchased a pillow-making workshop for my adult daughter and me, expecting an enjoyable afternoon together and, hopefully, a couple of nice pillows to take home. Instead, neither of us enjoyed the experience, and we left without usable pillows. From early in the workshop, I found Brea, the owner and instructor, to be impatient and unnecessarily harsh. At first, I tried to brush it off as simply a somewhat "spicy" teaching style. But the atmosphere became increasingly tense and uncomfortable. When my daughter became so upset that she hurried to the bathroom in tears, I could no longer overlook what was happening and told her that we were leaving. Rather than trying to understand or de-escalate the situation, Brea became confrontational with me in front of the class. She responded with sarcasm and mockery and challenged my concerns publicly. I was especially disappointed by what felt like an unwillingness to acknowledge mistakes or take any responsibility for how the interaction had unfolded. People take creative workshops to learn, but also to enjoy themselves. Mistakes and questions should be expected, particularly when people are learning a skill. We did not expect perfection or special treatment--just patience, basic kindness, and respectful instruction. Sadly, that was not our experience. What was intended to be a fun mother-daughter outing ended with my daughter in tears and both of us leaving early. I would not return or recommend this workshop based on our experience.

I had actually visited on Good Friday and they were closed. I live in Katy and it was a 30 minute drive. I politely got back in my car and decided I would visit another day. Well the following week I decided to visit because I needed to drop shoes off at the shoe shop. I walked in and felt like I was dreaming. It was such a variety of material it was unreal. I am not a seamstress but I have a creative vein for making a masterpiece. I decided to take my time and walk around and observe, look and allow my creative juices to flow. Then an angel appeared CLAUDIA, she was the sweetest girl ever. She answered all of my questions, offered expertise knowledge and helped me sort through many different options. Of course a creative person never makes choices overnight. So I left the store and told her I would return soon. The following week I returned with more choices and the need to make a final decision. When she seen the masterpiece she was floored. She then proceeded to talk about her mother's 50th birthday. It was funny because I am preparing for my 50th birthday and I was sharing with her that I don't mind sharing information with her as well to make her mother's event a success. What impressed me the most is all of the staff are welcoming to all ages and race along with being bilingual. I am always disgusted when I walk into an establishment and no one speaks ENGLISH which is the first language in HOUSTON. They are all nice and helpful CLAUDIA, stood out to me because she helped me personally. She was absolutely amazing. She gave hands on expertise and was very patient and kind. It was my first time in the store and she made me feel welcome. Her energy and poise were unmatched. I am looking forward to shopping at this establishment again.

I asked to use the restroom and was refused, despite being a paying customer. The staff showed no understanding or willingness to help, which made the experience feel unwelcoming and disrespectful. I understand that stores may have policies, but customers should be treated with basic courtesy--especially when making a reasonable request. Because of this experience, I will think twice before shopping here again.

Sometimes I suspect 5 star reviews. But this place deserves their stars. I visited on a Sunday…read moreafternoon. Kudos for them being open on Sundays! It's the only yarn shop I know of that is. They also sell fabric. The fabric ranges from everyday quilting cotton to Liberty of London cotton Lawn. Their yarn variety is fabulous too. They carry Borocco and Fiber---- (sp?) and active pair perfect sock yarn as well as many other weights. I like that they did have a lot of fiber that other shops don't normally carry. They also have roving and Ashford spinning wheels (kiwi 3 and country spinner) and Regis heddle looms. I went to buy a kiwi, and ended up with a lot more! The staff was super nice and allowed me to assemble the wheel in the store. They loaned me tools and had everything else I needed. I know there were ladies doing a sew or knit in in their back room. I didn't participate but listed in. I think they were welcoming of newbies and some of them knew each other a while. If I lived here, it would probably become a hangout for me. This is definitely on my list to stop by whenever I'm in the area. And I'm 100% sure I can get my girlfriends to do a roadtrip to come visit here. I'm so excited to find such a neat shop! A better-than-average selection of upholstery fabrics with better-than-average prices…read more Don't expect anything fancy here. This, to me, was almost like visiting a warehouse. Cement flooring and seemingly no organization to the fabric displays, so get that notion out of your head and pay attention to the prices and the products instead. I often look for upholstery-grade fabrics. I don't use them for upholstery, but to make tablecloths, since they are the perfect width for rectangular-shaped tables and many of the fabrics can be washed (despite what the care instructions may read). But it's getting increasingly difficult to find reasonably priced material for my purposes now that so many fabric stores have closed. Fabrics & More had quite a bit to offer, and when you wander over to their clearance area to see fabric for $5.99 a yard, you can find some real bargains. Not a huge selection, but still there are things to be had. Cutters are not the most skilled: there are NO cutting tables here. They measure on a roll of sorts and then hack away with scissors. So be prepared to even out your edges if you're like me and just looking to place a seam in what you've bought. Price was right, and you can bet I will be back. Offerings are so much superior to local fabric stores, but I'm sure they don't hold a candle to anything I'd find in town. Still, a great option in this area.

They did my kitchen chairs in a 1900s Boiled Flaxseed Linen, with a 1/4" Lip Jute Cording, Muslin underneath the Linen and the bottom of the seat with the same Muslin and they came out absolutely, incredibly fabulous and were competive with another upholsterer, but they were closer logistically, for me. I also had fabric I ordered elsewhere for a windowbox seat and needed the same cording as my kitchen chairs, but was unable to get it any longer from the manufacture so I finally went in last week to find the two former and wonderful upholsterers were no longer there, but another gentlemen was, Cruz was still there, and a new "Boss Lady". She asked what I was quoted before for the windowbox cushion which we found extremely reasonable, prices for two small antique chairs and two wingbacks and a quote of $20 for a small 10" pillow. She said she was called in to "take over" because they were undercharging. Well, after I pick up my windowbox seat tomorrow and the previously quoted $20 pillow, which will now cost $45, she has lost all my further business. I had another windowbox seat I needed done as well. She will soon find out there are others who do just as beautiful work as the previous two did, at a whole lot less cost to the customer. She nearly doubled my quoted price on wingbacks and my windowbox seat was TRIPLE the original quote! I have company coming so I was stuck with that one. After tomorrow, I won't be back, sadly. I have already contacted the other upholsterer to start on my work and he picks up. It's very unfortunate, but we also need to eat too.
