Solid Menu! Everything our table of four ordered was perfect! The Lamb Saag was best I've had in years, and I routinely eat at Indian restaurants in my travels. The house rice was a delight, fragrant, tender and worth eating on its own. The lamb chops are superb in every way ... flavor, texture and presentation. The staff is still going through opening fits and starts, but they have a super attitude and sorted out the little bit of ordering/menu confusion with a smile and our assistance. Great Indian food. We went for the lunch buffet. It was clean, organized sensibly and had a wide array of Indian dishes. Without question they make the best tandoori chicken. Did this pace change ownership? Is that why it was closed for three weeks and came back with a different menu AND DIFFERENT/UNRECOGNIZABLE food? This used to be one of my top 5 favorite places in Asheville where I live and I just had an incredibly disappointing experience. Gone were the flavorful perfectly spiced, prepared and presented plates and instead, a godawful "sag paneer" (which was my #1 love) and a lamb dish so inedible I had to send it back. Don't remember Ever doing that before anywhere. My brother had a chicken dish that he said was nowhere near as good as it was every previous time he had ordered it there. Lovely restaurant at the heart of Asheville. Great decor and very good menu with good variety. Goat curry and biryani were not cooked well, the meat was tough. For the price point, i expect the meal to be properly cooked. Maybe they were too busy and let the quality drop. Rest of the food tasted good. Service was good. read more

We got the cutest little table in this corner that you could see the whole restaurant from. The waiter was amazing and the food was to die for. I def would recommend for people to share because the portions are decently big. Like 2 meals could feed 4 people for sure. 1st Impression-cool vibe with friendly helpful front staff. Susie was set on finding us the perfect table and she really delivered. Great table by the window (we told her that we didn't really want to be seated in the middle of the room. 2nd Impression-Great selection of specialty cocktails created by the hardworking Bartender who was kicking it into high gear (although she was taking it in stride) due to her back bar help not being helpful, since they called in disinterested in being at work on the extremely popular night during a holiday weekend. 3rd Impression-Food was just what we hoped for-absolutely full of epic flavors that complimented each other in every way. We asked for spicy and they did not fail. Make sure to order enough to share with the table. We ordered The Spiced Corn Soup, Samosas, Naan Bread Basket, to start and as we requested our wonderful server staggered the courses and did not rush the meal. Andaaz serves consistently delicious Indian cuisine. We frequently dine there because it is a convenient location for us. We have many favorites but always end with the most delectable rice pudding, discreet but pungent flavor, so delicious! We dropped in last evening during a very busy holiday rush and still could sit at the bar and enjoy perfect cocktails and appetizers served with great grace by Terry. Was visiting Asheville from NYC and this restaurant is better than any Indian restaurant I have found before. My group ordered from all over the menu and you can't go wrong with anything - but the sweet and sour cauliflower, rosemary naan, paneer, biryani, and shrimp curry were amazing. Andaaz is a phenomenal Indian restaurant and a welcome addition to our Asheville food scene. Literally we did not have one thing we did not rave about. Our cocktails were spot on. They even had our favorite vermouth. And our wine with dinner was impressive. Our party of four had the garlic naan, okra and cauliflower for starters. All amazing. We got the house daal, saag paneer and they were outstanding. Our friends a fish dish and a chicken korma. Again, all of it was delicious. This will be on our regular dine out rotation. This review is for the Sunday buffet. The buffet was quite well stocked with a good variety of dishes. There were at least four kinds of vegetables (saag paneer, eggplant, green beans and a mushroom/peas dish), lentils, rice, naan, roti and four chicken dishes (two kinds of curry, a chilli chicken and tandoori). Also spinach and onion pakoras, salad, chutneys, fresh fruit and rice pudding. I may be missing something! The buffet was kept fresh and refilled. The atmosphere is very nice and everything was spotless clean. The food had great flavors. I have typically gone to Mela downtown and I think Andaaz is tastier. This is the biggest Indian restaurant in Asheville and they have a huge buffet that always is good at restocking they're selection in the morning, and at night time the best thing to order is the Mysore lab chop which is 3 lamb chops with butter and creamy sauce over them cooked to perfection . I always get the lahori lamb chops which is more of a main course which contains 5 lamb chops. The best thing to get is Lahori lamb chops 911 spicy with 2 orders of garlic naan.... Had a lovely dinner here on a Sunday evening with my wife. Had chicken tikka masala and chicken andaaz and the tandoori lamb chop starter. All three were outstanding- some of the best Indian we've ever eaten. I like how they offer 4 levels of heat - mild medium spicy and hot. We had our third meal at Andaaz last night, with a large group. Once again, an excellent evening all around. Everyone throughly enjoyed the wide variety of food ordered. The setting was lovely, complete with white table cloths and nice lighting. The wait staff was exceptional - we were impressed with how quickly food, drinks, and the bill were delivered. Nicely decorated and clean interior with reasonably attentive staff. We specifically came for the lunch buffet. It's reasonably priced and filling, but nothing spectacular as regards the food. Naan was dried out, vegetable korma was made with (presumably) frozen mixed vegetables, meat options chicken only (four different types, but none of them particularly distinctive or distinguishable). Vegetarian dishes (including aforementioned korma) similarly bland. Condiment bar included raita and several chutneys as well as mango pickle. I wouldn't mind eating there again, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so. read more

I have called numerous times, left three messages including on FB and Instagram and these folks can't seem to find the time to respond and give me 30 seconds of time. Wow, what a fabulous meal we had! My sister in law was in town and her friend suggested we try Andaaz. We gave them a call shortly before we wanted to eat to check their availability and we put our name down for a table of 4 and headed to the restaurant. The parking lot is pretty small but there is plenty of other parking lots within Biltmore Village just a few blocks away. The dining room is huge and filled with lots of statues and art. It wasn't long before our server greeted us and took our drink order. It was a while before they came back to take our food order but the menu is so large that it took our group a while to even make any decisions so personally the amount of time was quite perfect. We ordered the Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower) and the onion bhajia appetizers and they were both fantastic. The cauliflower was my personal favorite and I will order it again next time. The breading was even, and the sauce was sweet and garlicky. I kept going back and forth between what I wanted, and ended up ordering the green curry tofu. They had a whole page (like 15 choices) of vegetarian entrees and that was just one section, there were several other vegetarian options throughout the menu. My partner ordered the vegetarian sampling and got a little bit of everything. They have a ton of different naans, we enjoyed the plain, goat cheese, and a spicy naan. Although my dish was nothing like I imagined it would look like, it was everything that I wanted. I took some of it home and it was just as good heated up two days later. Our family of five loves Indian food. Whenever we travel, we try a local place and compare notes. To a one, all five of us were blown away by Andaaz. We arrived when they opened the doors at 5:30, and based on the crowd waiting for a table when we left, we recommend reservations or arriving early. From the owner greeting us at the door and welcoming us to Asheville, our server, whose knowledge spanned from craft cocktails to the subtle differences in sauces, the atmosphere with beautiful light fixtures and gorgeous wall hangings, to the food - oh, the food - every single aspect was fantastic! The samosas were crispy, the roasted butternut squash soup was so divine we sent it around the table more than once so everyone could enjoy it, and the crab cakes were delicious. We ordered Bindhi Masala ("okra forward" as our server described it, which meant it was really a pot of the best okra you've ever tasted in a chunky masala sauce), Chicken Tandoor (classic and perfectly cooked and spiced), Chicken Tikka Makhani, which is the Andaaz version of Chicken Tikka Masala - voted by everyone at the table as the best sauce they'd ever tasted! The cocktails were fabulous, the craft beer selection was great, and we cannot wait to plan another trip to Asheville just so we can eat at Andaaz again. read more
